You sure can. To do that, you'll want to want to distribute along a sphere, just like the video above, but use Voxels instead of Face Centers. Depending on the size of your cube, you may need to adjust the voxel size. That will get you your sphere of cubes. Then create a cube, rotate it 45 degrees and stretch it out so that it "slices" a wedge out of the sphere where you want the mouth to be. Apply a Visibility node to the MASH network, and create a Falloff object. Set the Falloff to "Mesh" and use the cube. Then that's it, you're done! You can even open and close the mouth by stretching and squashing the cube. areadownloads.autodesk.com/wdm/maya/pacman.gif
Hello, I tried to download the file used in this tutorial by clicking and copy&paste the address, but I could not reach it. Can you check it out? Thank you
I'm learning Maya by my self with Maya 2016 ext2 for Student And i cant find MASH in the menu (Window >>Settings/Preferences >> Plug in Manager.... Can you help me to find it :( Thanks so much!
It's not located in your Maya2017/plug-ins/MASH/plug-ins folder? If not it sounds like you may need to re-download the package. Make sure you get it from the official source: www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/maya-extension
I got a problem with using the third click button of the mouse. I'm an apple user and with the last version of OS X this button doesn't works anymore. So i don't know how to do lots of stuff like moving the elements into the outliner, and like in this specific case, at minute 5.40 i can't drag the sphere into the Input mesh. Anyone knows how to fix this problem?
I have no idea why I've never seen this tutorial before. Great tut so far. Thanks.
I like this. Short and to the point. Recorded in parts instead of 6 hours videos squeezed into 5 minutes with no direction or audio
it is possible to create something like pacman in the movie pixels with a sphere?

I think it's both. If you're serious about maya, yr gonna wanna get either the iMac, or preferably a gaming computer.
I'm not familiar with MASH, but can't you also do this with Xgen?
اشكرككككككككككككككك انت رائع
I cant find 'MASH' in the 'Create' toolbar
If you're using Maya 2017, it's been moved to the Animation menu set under its own MASH menu.
I don't have mesh plugin in Maya 2018! Please help me!
Are you using Maya or Maya LT? MASH is unfortunately not in LT.

If you still can't find it, you might just get maya 2018. IT has mash.

I believe CMD + left click simulates a middle-click on mac.
What about on a pc?
Assuming you mean a trackpad for a laptop, you can hold down both the left and right buttons to simulate the middle button.
not working in pc
plz help
How can we get MASH plugin?
+Frost Nova47 It comes bundled with Maya 2016 Extension 2.
Alright thanks :D
Is mash a free plugin?
It comes with Maya 2016 extension 2. It's not compatible with older versions of Maya.
its not compatible with student version, too
How to get the mesh plugin
You'll need Maya 2016 ext 2 or newer. Once you have it, just go to the Windows > Plugins menu and turn it on.
Maya Learning Channel but I'm using 2014 maya
