- HOW I SAVED £40,000 IN 2 YEARS | HOW TO SAVE QUICKLY & EARN MORE | HOW TO SAVE FOR A HOUSE DEPOSIT
Hey everyone! I want to start by saying this video is highly requested which is why I have made this. This video is in no way to show off or brag. I debated even making this video or sharing this online but after continuously being asked to create a video on how I repayed the help to buy loan, here you go.
I started by saving £20,000 in 2 years which I shared with you before. I then challenged myself to save £40,000 in 2 years! I used this to repay my help to buy equity loan. This could also be used for your first house deposit. Today I talk you through what I did to maximise my income at work and earn as much as I could and how to get a promotion at work too. I also talk about side hustles and ways to generate yourself a second source of income and also ways to build an online business. I speak a little about how I grew my channel on youtube too.
I really hope you find this helpful! x

My whole wage isn’t even £40k in 2 years. 🥺
Literally what I thought 😂😫
Get a job that is or work a second part time job so unless work 1 full time and 1 part time
I love how clear and transparent you are in your videos, a lot of people make these videos but they don't give personal references.
Loving all these saving/finance contents recently for 2021. Last year we listened to your advice and we reserved our new build which is due to completed May this year. Thank you, thank you and thank you x

Another great video as always Hazel! Right now as we speak I have almost finished paying off my credit card which has taken me 2 years to clear. By the end of this month I’ll be credit card debt free and can now plan properly towards saving for my future! I was determined to do this and I didn’t give up! 🙌🏾
That's an amazing amount while having a mortgage, car payments and everything else going out. Thanks for highlighting that having a side hustle helped you to do this.
Your finance videos are very much wanted and your knowledge shines through. I’m an older subscriber, 46, with my own flat, but I still find this motivating and inspiring. I would love to progress to a small house and will follow your tips. Would love to do UA-cam but that’s really for the younger generation but will save where poss. Thank you x
Thank you so much!!💕💕 dont be silly you could have a channel!!!! 💕
I'm 40 and watch lots of UA-cam videos I don't think age matters. If the content is good it doesn't matter if people are 20 or 60 in my eyes. Do it! 😊X
41 here and same, loving your videos 😊
You could write an amazing book with all of your knowledge!!!
Awww thank you! Maybe one day!
Well done Hazel good attitude for a young lady..parents must be so proud of you..
❤️❤️❤️
Good motivation thanks Hazel😊. I think it's good you mentioning about trying to increased your main salary. I think a lot of us get caught up with trying to do extras or save more but in a lot of cases this might actually be the most sensible thing to do. X x
💗💗💗💗
Already know this is going to be the most helpful video for me in 2021! I have watched this twice already! Genuinely one of the best videos I've ever watched! So excited to save and hopefully smash my side hustle of a UA-cam channel too! xxxxx
💗💗💗💗
Another great video to kick start 2021. I am hoping to be in a position to buy my own property this year after years of saving, so these videos are greatly appreciated. Thank you Hazel
This would be amazing 😍💗💗
Thank you again for all ur info/advice. Many people buy houses but ur the only one who gives facts n figures that help first time buyers 🥰
💓💓
I think the part where you mentioned asking about progressing in your current role is important and shows eagerness. Also, I appreciate you not just talking about passive income which is considerate of our times right now. So hope to learn more knowledge from your videos, thank you!
Hazel, I have just found your channel and oh my goodness this couldn’t come at a better time! I am doing a YT side hustle and sometimes I feel a little bit disheartened. I will keep pushing on. Thank you so much and well done I’m your progress, you are absolutely smashing it 🎉 xx
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this vid, we deffo need more video like this for this year girly ❤️❤️❤️
💕💕
This is the MOST motivational video i've watched in months!!!! Thank you!!! x

I really struggle to save with the wage i’m on and I have a house / bills to pay for, the first year i struggled but this year I have less bills and debt and finally can start saving, I doubt it will be too much but every little helps! Loved this so much, so helpful! and you’re just so lovely 💜
Thank you lovely! And best of luck💗
@@hazelwoodx may I ask what you do for a living I’m thinking of starting up a little business 💜
That’s my Monday Motivational speech ! Thank you Hazel !
💗💗💗
Well done. I remember noticing that you were posting less shopping content, doing your own nails etc. All so worth it now 👍 xx
💗💗
Just found you after searching for advice a couple of days ago. Thank you
☺️☺️
Love this Hazel! Is there any chance you could do a video on car finance? Thanks xx
I have worked in my full time role for the NHS for 3 years and have undertaken two qualifications, trained staff and always willing to do more! But in the NHS i've found it really difficult to progress and i have tried to apply for other higher roles, using my transferable skills, without success! I keep being told they may develop another role for me but its unclear, especially with the current situation! I also have a second job to top up my income but i want my main job to eventually be the main source of income 🙏🤞🙏 love your videos! xx
I’m in exact same situation except I do not work for NHS, I am looking for a new job and second income.
@@666999stardust We will get there 💪 stay positive 🥰
Hazel as per is bringing us the content goods!!! Look beaut as always girl x

I’m paying off my debts this year, probably about 5k I need gone by the end of the year so we can move home from a 2 to 3/4 bed house.
That is amazing!
Very interesting and informative thank you. Happy new year 👍🏻❤️

💗💗💗💗
Great video hazel x
💓
I’ve completely had career change this year getting qualifications while working and always looking what next steps are for progressing in the career too can’t wait to start saving more money 💴
💗💗💗
Great you broke down your savings target in two year slots of 20k then 40k. I set myself a 100k target in 5 years since I have started working. This is my fifth year and confident I will get there, may even get to the target early.
💗💗
This was super helpful! I've always been good at saving and saved a lot during 2020 but I never really consider trying to increase my income as a tactic. Thanks so much for this vid!💓
💗💗💗
Well done, you are truly an inspiration.

Thank you Hazel 🤍
🥰🥰
Brilliant thank you 🤗💕
💞💞
Fantastic
🥰
I would love to know how you can move your salary up by 50-60%. I was in my Job role, taking on extra activities to stretch myself. Paying out of my pocket doing courses and I still didn’t see no more than a 4K increase in over 4-5 years.
Can you make a video relating more to students, who work and provide for themselves, being able to save?
Yes I agree with this - or people on a low income/minimum wage!
Great video, would you do other savings tips. Currently trying to by my first flat on my own on a small wage(saving for a 15% deposit) but I am getting there slowly and hoping to get started with the morgage application by Feb. Would love to see other small savings tips and tricks. Love your videos xx
Hey! Check out my last upload before this one it covers all of that 💗
Brilliant video. Yes within current situation I'm holding onto my job, taking as much training to better myself. Also have been looking into online courses i can do that can help me progress. I don't want to give up on myself,i am still job hunting for something better. I love your videos. I even considered a weekend job to earn extra money to boost my savings pot and get on the property ladder.
This sounds excellent! I think thats really wise. Using the time to better yourself so when the time is right you can move jobs 🥰
Any tips for application forms/ interviews? I’m trying to progress in my job but it’s so difficult! I feel like no body wants to know!!
Hey hun! Don't worry I've been through the same struggle! Check out Instagram pages such as 0800resume, @recruiterbae, @ProgressingSteps , @gradvance etc!! They offer tips and tricks on how to smash interviews and I believe some even have websites.. hope this helps :)
Try out Push Far free mentoring platform :) I mentored a girl from there now she has landed a job with my support. I would say set up job alerts which you can do from Google. Indeed is a great platform and CV library. Really depends on the area you work within. Have you thought about getting some work with agencies? U never know could lead to a full time role depending on how you do at the company. Best of luck here is the link to Push Far you can even mentor on there also if you wanted to give back;
www.pushfar.com/
Live wth disability and bad apprence! lol, good luck!😊
I think it also depends on your job and wage. I am very good at saving however, at the minute I am in a job where there is very little to no career progression and company I work for also do not support development in qualifications.
Then adjust your expectations and goals to your income and lifestyle. You can't expect to save 5 billion dollars in a week if you earn $10 a decade, sweetie.
Can you do a video talking through the process of applying for a mortgage????? Pleaseeeeeeee
I already have here ua-cam.com/video/r1cRewOiRpU/v-deo.html x
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Love you hair slightly lighter xx
Thank you 💗
I want to save for my own home in 17 months

🙏😊😊

Also do you know if student debt can damage your application for a mortgage?? 💛
Im not sure ❤️
@@hazelwoodx okay thank you I’m trying to get the ball rolling to start saving but I just don’t know where to start 😂💛
@@hazelwoodx also this video is amazing and your personality is so bubbly and uplifting!! 💛
I am currently an accounts assistant and studying my accounting qualifications. I am looking into becoming a paraplanner, I was wondering do you think it would be reasonable to transfer from accounts assistant into? I like accounts but from what I’ve looked into I think para planning is something I would really enjoy! Love this video thank you!! ❤️
Hey! It could definitely be a move if you go into a trainee role. But you would need to do all the exams ❤️
Hello Hazel
Hi!

How do I stop impulse buying makeup Hazel I need help!
Haha!!! Think to yourself - do you NEED IT? If you are replacing makeup you have ran out of its not so bad!!! But if its makeup you dont need do the 30 day rule!! Wait 30 days and see if you still wan tit
@@hazelwoodx Thanks
I'm just buying random makeup every single day. I will try this 30 day rule..
How much could one borrow with a combined salary of £72000 a year roughly.?
Its typically 4.5 to 5 x your salary but any debts are also considered
I have saved quite a bit in 6 months (don’t feel the need to say how much) but I would not give up my life for a second job 😂
Thats great! Everyone is different ☺️
So what was your salary?
What is your job? Just found your channel x
Financial technical paraplanner xx
May I ask what job field are you in ?
She's in finance
Great thank you x
What to do when you’re horrific at maths 🙈
