When i was a teenager all my pocket money basically went on sweets and big macs... I decided to put it away everytime i wanted one and i virtually saved all of my pocket money... Really does add up n i lost weight x

Great tips Hazel and I 100% agree, EVERYONE can save something! Will it go quick? maybe not but we all need to work with the tools we have and life is "unfair" sometimes but I think that's what makes it exciting! You know I love your money and saving videos so can't wait for the next one 🤩

I always get my travel insurance through compare the market every year. It literally costs about £8 but I get the 2for1 meerkat movies with it. So you can get 2 for 1 cinema tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! We like going to cinema but would always grudge how much it costs. Now it works out so much cheaper!

A good tip if you aren’t using your gym membership but don’t or can’t cancel (if you’re tied into a contract), most gyms will allow you to suspend your membership for a period of time for no cost or a hugely reduced cost!

Love these tips thank you :) I have a basic phone ditched my smart phone. I have a tablet to browse the internet I am getting used of it now. Only pay £6 a month on my phone bill now I would rather spend and save money on experiences/holidays/home etc♡
Great tips Hazel! I already prep my work lunches at home but sometimes get bored/ struggle for ideas. I would love a video on how/ what you prep, might give me some new ideas. Another tip is to set a savings goal and try to think about it every time you want to buy somthing that's not necessary. When we were saving for a house deposit while renting (not easy!) and I wanted to spend on things like eating out, clothes, makeup etc I didn't really need, I got into the habit of asking myself what was more important to me. I suddenly found myself not wanting those things as much! The feeling of achieving a big thing like buying your first home is such a good feeling isn't it, it's so worth cutting back on other things for!

Another great video Hazel. Definitely a great tip about reviewing all your household bills, car insurance etc. We do this with every renewal we get. We also review our energy provider and also keep an eye on interest rates for savings and move them if we can get a better rate ❤️ xx

I just went onto USwitch to compare my tariffs for electricity and gas and switched saving myself £175.00 a year! I live alone and work part-time, this is huge for me! I thought I was on top of this sort of thing! Thanks for the kick up the bum!

I work in claims in an insurance company and get a 50% discount for car insurance and 20%/15% on other insurance policy, the savings is massive🤯

At the age of eighteen I invested a small amount into bonds and each month you can be entered into a draw to win more money due to having the bonds. Over the last four months I have been able to save 1,300 towards a headstone while renting and saving money for driving lessons while having a small amount for myself each month. My goal after purchasing the headstone is to start saving for a mortgage deposit. I am constantly looking for new ways to save and all of your videos have been extremely helpful💗

Thank you thank you thank you Hazel for uploading this! This has come at a perfect time for me! I’ve just finished paying off my bank loan which I took out 3 years ago, and now I can finally start saving towards a deposit for my first (hopefully) home. It’s been so hard because I’m a self confessed shopaholic but I’ve been really good over the last few months and only bought what I needed, not what I wanted (although I’ve seen this really gorgeous Katie Loxton weekend bags that I’ve got my eye on!) but I’m going to Glasgow for a work trip soon so I guess that’s justified? Oh no, it’s started already - help 😂😂😂🙈

Hazel, thank you! I paused the video and literally just switched providers on Uswitch which took all of 10 minutes. I’m saving £350 per year and have chosen Octopus as they use renewable energy. Yay for the environment and yay for my wallet xxx

I did same last week but went through Quidco. Had come to the end of my year with company A, 5 minute filling details in and it’s now saved me £260 a year which includes £30 cash back from Quidco. May have even be U switch, through the Quidco site. Have now made it a habit to always go through Quidco when I can, for online purchases. Have had to make a few purchases this month and including this and the energy provider switch am already set to get £60 back. The plan is to act as if it’s spent as you say ....and save it! Also regarding the credit card 0% and balance transfer thing...I change every year and the same 2 companies always offer me the deals...I swop back and forth. I’ve done it for at least 6 years. Barclaycard and MBNA

ive taken all of these into account,we get very very little money & sometimes struggle for money but instead of getting take out almost everyday we save £1 every single day! it's small but it helps so so much!😱💛

Love this! quick question - does making a balance transfer affect your credit score in any way? my interest free period ends in a few months so i'm debating doing one to save on paying interest and extend the interest free period! X
I dont think it does but it may be worth double checking! Effectively you are applying for more credit but then you are moving it and not adding to debt, so i cant see it having a massive impact as long as the credit is gradually being paid (minimum payments being met each month) x

Hello, I was wondering how much did you save for a deposit? And how much in percentage did the bank loan you? As today after thinking I decided to pull out on this house I was going to buy simply because it required too much work and I felt that I didn't have that much money in the bank to take it on especially how I have to spend so much on searches before it even becomes mine so unfortunately I wont be buying that house anymore. What would you advise someone like me who's buying a property on their own? I felt so much stress and i was only on stage 1 of the process i definitely think it's best for me to have alot more money in the bank and then start hunting again for a house as i will feel alot more confident when going through this mortage process again
Hey i put down 5% and got a 75% mortgage and 20% government help to buy loan. Its always good to save atleast 5-10k more than your deposit to cover fees, furniture or house repairs, and just additional costs you didnt anticipate. I also think its important to have savings even a grand or 2. Id never buy and spend all my money as it only takes something to go wrong. So i would defo say save 5-10k more than your deposit if you can to cover all fees and everything else xxx

I feel like you are no where near as enthusiastic about top cash back as you should be 😂 I got £25 for booking a holiday I was going to book anyways, I ordered a simply cook box after seeing it on tv for 3, checked top cashback and was £7 cash back I actually earned more than I was spending !
