You know, it's crazy how I was playing this game hardcore in the mid 2000s, learning from watching Grubby replays. Here I am, 15ish years later, watching a UA-cam guide.

Grubby, You da man. I just came back to Wc3 a week or so ago after a decade away as an old school as a ranked NE solo player I am an EXTREME newb now. Watching your content along with the folks at WC Champions has totalle given me the Wc3 fever again. Keep up the great work and these specific Newb vids you are going has gotten me right back to beating Insane comps (yeah, no great achievement but. Easy beat me 4 games in a row 4 or 5 days ago). Fantastic content for a great game Blizzard did their best to kill for some reason.
It's still named Blizzard but it's not the same company or people any more ya know

I remember when Grunt + Raider + Walker (eventually adding Kodo) with Blademaster + (Shadow Hunter or Tauren Chieftain) staying on Tier 2 was THE Orc Meta, back during the long patch desert that ended just a few years ago. Glad to see that things have branched out, although I am beginning to wonder if that old Meta has actually fallen out of favor..

Hello Grubby, thank you for your detailed guide on playing the way you play. It has been enlightening and useful to know! It will take awhile for me to be anywhere near the level of micro-ing the units like you do but this video helps me with understanding how to best to creep,retain, scout and attack enemy and many more. I cant afford to get the new version but I have reign of chaos and the frozen throne on disc and ive been playing trying to learn til I can get the new one. I usually use orcs against AI of course and have been using around 12 berserker trolls, 8 raiders, 3 of the catapults, and farseer at 3-5 hopefully and TC at atleast 2. It's worked very well against elves but humans steam roll me and I haven't figured out undead yet. I'm learning creeping still and watched your guide on it it has helped a lot as well as this video, ty!
I think I use grunts and not raiders my bad
9:05 Consider also the scouting value of wolves over Far Sight and how useless that ability really is

One thing I am struggling in my games currently is in what order to get the following once Stronghold completes: start T3 for zerkers, reinforced defenses, troll regen and start bestiery/lodge. If I delay one, I usually seem to regret it later. Your prioritization makes sense so I will just stick with it until I get more experience. Would you however recommend newer players to ger reinforced defenses and even spikes earlier as not defending burrows properly can decide the game early?
Would be great if we can get a little more advanced guide now 😊

Do aura buffs stack? Kodo has the drum aura, he also picked one up from a camp drop, do they stack?
It used to stack back in the day but it doesn't any more. So if you already have Kodos it's best to sell the item.
hi, getting into wc3 and trying to pick up two default build orders/Strategies
1. classic bm, shadow grunt, raider, walker, (kodo)
2. this one
my question, in this build, i would have exspected shamans instead of Raiders
purge for antimagic and slows and since we go t3 anyway we can get bloodloost super late game
is that just worse and why raiders instead?
actually I want to ask that why don't you choose the mirror image skill? with a mirror image I'm sure the resulting damage will be even greater to the opponent, of course with only +1 wind walk just to run or just stalk the enemy, and why do you rarely use the bladestorm skill even though the blademaster is level 6? I watched throughout the video about you that you only use wind walk and upgrade critical strike without using mirror image or bladestorm
Mirror images don't do any damage in wc3. This isn't Dota.
@@JonGunnarssonDotA They added in the newest PTR Patch that Mirror Images now do 15% dmg.
is there a strat at which you go grunts? or it's just meme unit and you avoid it until Blizzard buff it (aka never)?
You typically open with grunts if you go for Blademaster. FS + grunts is also possible but has fallen out of favour a bit compared to headhunter openings.

29/41 Burrow finishes.
34/41 T2 finishes. Train TC. Build Bestiary. THEN T3. THEN troll regen
34/41 TC finishes (aura+Stomp). Buy 2 Heal salvs + Speed scroll. Start creeping
37?/41 Bestiary finishes. Train wolfrider+ensnare.
37/41 Build 4th Burrow. Get Berzerk.
49/51 T3 finishes. Train Shadow // Kodo+Berserker // Wolfrider + Berserker.
49/51 Build 5th Burrow. Start attacking for serious.
52+/61 Spam headhunters as you are attacking to make up for the losses.
61/61 Start War Mill upgrades. Fortified Def.
Keep spamming HH.. If you need anti magic, go Shamans instead of Bestiary.

Has anyone seen this strategy actually used outside of this tutorial? I have watched countless Orc matches and never see it. I do not think I have even seen Grubby use it in a serious match.
I don't know if it is an update to WC3 but I have never seen such refined interface before, is it an add-on? Like the 5/5 number on the mine to help out etc, is this just new patch stuff or is it something I can download to the old versions of the game as well?
