Technically "yes then", lol. Norwegian has a few words that just don't work in translation, like "jo", "dog" and so on. I'm translating something to English right now, so it's a bit of a headache as the meaning doesn't quite come through if you leave those words out. Adding an "after all" instead of "jo" doesn't quite do it either. Anyway, I know that no one asked for a linguistic dissertation here...
Didn’t realised I’ve already watched and liked this vid, but it still brings great joy to see my homies, brothers and sisters achieve something like their first jump or flight etc 👊🏼
I’ve had thee most shit day, but this really put a smile on my face brother, I remember my first jump, and it took me years to work my way up to such a beautiful site like this. Respect 👊🏼
@@franzinelli-2000 I know but the last thing I'd want to be worrying about on a first base jump, is tracking away from a mountain 😂 epic none the less! Blue skies
This exit point has a 14 sec rock drop, massive overhang and a very large LZ. Courses in Kjerag or having a mentor take you to a cliff where you reach terminal velocity is the most common way of starting here.
You practice by skydiving. Learning to fly your body and precission landing with the canopy. It took me about 400 jumps before I felt ready. Minimum requirements for courses are from 250-350 jumps.
@@IncredibleIceCastle By working bro😊 I’ve never had a fancy job, Im just careful of what I spend money on. Make my own food, don’t buy fancy clothes etc. You have everything from garbage men to surgeons jumping. During the winter I try to put aside some money for when the jumping season starts.
Shit that was a good exit. Better than Ive seen other "experienced" base jumpers on you tube do. No experience base jumping, but learing to skydive at the moment and I can say that was damn good! No swimming. perfect arch. Lets see more vids!
I guess with every extreme sport you start off real nice and easy and then add risk that is manageable as you go. Like with base you start off skydiving (which is relatively super safe compared to other sports), and then when you progress and learn, you understand that doing jumps like this actually are practically easy for an experienced skydiver with the right mind. Although base and skydiving are two different things, the air is exactly the same and you control your body and canopy the same way. And you can learn that by skydiving hundreds/thousands of times. It's the same with skiing. No one has ever taken a helicopter up to some crazy peak in Alaska for their first time on skis. They have spent years in the ski resort first. Don't get me wrong, this is dangerous. But I know jumpers that have thousands of base jumps. So it is possible to do this in a safe manner. Sorry for the long answer, I just like to share thoughts on this.
@@Jesperingstad you're definitely right and I understand all of that for sure, but for me it's the risk involved. Regardless of my experience I know that with BASE there's no second canopy to save me of my first fails. And just knowing that alone may be enough to keep me from stepping off. I salute you!
With over 500 free falls never had the balls to go of a fixed object. Still here enjoying my retirement and grandkids. To each their own. Base can bite you.
Hey look, my own glasses were fogging up just watching his goggles fog up. At 65, there is NO way I could do that. Even in my 20's-40's, and I still ride motorcycles. But ANY base jumping for me is......NFW. At the same time, MUCH respect to those that have beach balls for testes.
Good question. Just like a motorcycle helmet isn't gonna do much for you if you crash into a wall in 250 km/h, it can make a huge difference in lets say 60 km/h. So it's for minor accidents. Like cliff strikes under canopy, bad landings etc.
No. It may seem a bit radical to some but this is how we usually start jumping in Norway. This is (at least in Norway) the best terminal cliff for a first jump with its 14 sec rock drop, massive overhang and about a soccer field in size landing area.
Where else to put the GoPro?? Jk. Just like a motorcycle helmet isn’t gonna do much for you if you crash into a wall in 200 km/h it’s gonna make a huge difference in 60 km/h. So its for minor accidents like cliff strikes, a bad landing, spinning canopy due to line-over etc.
Epic! I liked how they gave him the time and silence to get ready for the jump.
True! 💯
Perfect jump. It was great to see you visualize and take your time. It is so important.

I love this video just because you also show that you are afraid and that you take your time. Amazing!
1st BASE jump and delayed opening to insane level💪
Yeah that was great! I've got sweaty palms even in home on the diningtable. Keep on going and stay safe

Nothing sketchy about this. I don't have any terminal base jumps and I wouldn't hesitate to jump this with a solid rig.
LOL! Like a drug. The first one gets you addicted.
What a brave man
That form is PERFECT
Bliksem! Absolutely beautiful
You have tremendous courage. Very well done!
I think it's Kalskråtind . 1799 m . Almost the same distance to the Romsdalen valley. ha ha . Trollstigen is nearby.
Norway has some amazing scenery.
They caught that jump perfectly. Kudos.
Absolutely incredible! 👍👍👍😎
That's a helluva place to start!

@@Jesperingstad how do you personally afford skydiving that much? Do most jumpers have traditional careers to fund their exploits?

Did my own first jump there back in 89, thought i'd be shitting myself but instead i was completely serene.
1st base jump was a big wall in Norway? NICE.
