    My biggest fear is that Las Vegas is OK with the A’s continuing to lower the bar, and Fisher finds a minority owner who is able to help finish the funding for the stadium.
    I really hope they get stuck in Sacramento and Fisher sells to Ranadive, or Fisher even sells back to Joe Lacob in Oakland who outbids Vivek. I doubt it though.

      Fisher was looking for 500 million from an investor...John Fisher made 500 million on gap stock last week... he is fully capable and willing to fund the stadium himself.

    10% of their home games is ONLY 8 games. That doesn’t seem like a big deal. The Jaguars now play +/- 25% of their home games in London (2 out 8 or 9) per season.

    • @overbanked
      @overbanked 4 місяці тому

      Not true. The Jags continue to play ONE home game in London. Last year and this year, the Jags are playing back to back games in London; one home (at Wembley) and one away (at Tottenham). The Bills (last year) and the Bears (this year) are the Jags away games at Tottenham.
      The Jags always get flak for playing one home game in London, but many NFL teams are cashing in (by playing a home game abroad) with these international games.

    Las Vegas should jump at a deal that promises a new franchise in return for allowing the A’s to back out of the deal .The A’s are not wanted and never were .Las Vegas is a Dodgers town and it supports everything Vegas born like the VGK . It would be better for Las Vegas ,MLB for Vegas to get a NL Vegas born franchise that rivals the Dodgers ..

      The Aces / moved 2 and could not make it in two other cities and now leads WNBA in attendance, Raiders that tripled in value and now the the most sought and expensive ticket in the NFL ... I go to Golden Knights games often including the first game... I don't recall thinking "I am only a fan because they were born here". MLB expansion is not guaranteed and will most likely have a 2 billion dollar expansion fee.... if Las Vegas backs out of the A's (they won't) MLB will never grant a team to Las Vegas.

      @@togoandmoss Get your facts straight . The Raiders have the number one resale ticket in the NFL ..That translates to opposing teams fans buying the tickets second hand not locals sitting in the stands . And most of those Raider tickets are sold to fans of the Raiders from LA .The A’s have no fan base in LA and even less in Las Vegas .Nobody gives a rats behind about the Aces or the WNBA it’s just something else to bet on. The VGK were loved before they even got their name .Las Vegas was excited to get their own Vegas born team of any kind ..Foley did everything right and never asked for one penny of public money .The VGK sold out not knowing if they were going to be good or not .Going to the Cup final was a huge boost and put Vegas on the sports map .The VGK also helped the community after that horrific shooting ..The A’s offer nothing but the worst owner in all of sports who never did anything for anyone …

      @@BoulderCityBlues The facts are the Raiders are worth more than the 49'ers now... with tickets were offered to the public many people in LA purchased them and sell them on the secondary market ...most likely because they don't want to travel to Las Vegas every home game. I am not a WNBA fan but you may be a little shut-in if you don't see the hype about it these days. Not a big sport but doing better in Las Vegas than anywhere else. You know Fisher will try to claim that playing eight games in Sacramento is enough to get games on the air in Northern California and get something from that contract. I'd like to see expansion. But for me the smart play is Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Bring in established clubs from their local leagues. Give them lottery picks and get investment. Wrap those teams in their own division and then they play against the Southern US: Miami, Houston, San Diego, Rangers, Diamondbacks, etc.. I always enjoy the Angels and Dodgers get their ass handed to them. They are in that teams to play too. I'm an A's fan, what can I say? Don't make anyone in my new South division fly to Boston or Minnesota. Just spit balling, but I could see MLB expand that way. Japan and Korea is a fools errand. They have great leagues. Europe?? Maybe some games in the Netherlands only because of the rich Caribbean Dutch history of the love for the game.

    This is indicative of the mlb’s serious problems ahead. They have several markets that for various cannot sustain a team without help from the league, the whole Bally’s sports fiasco has left many teams with no legit way to guarantee local television revenue, and now have a rogue owner, albeit with the most problematic franchise, making, reneging, and seesawing on very poorly executed deals, with multiple othef sports leagues taking away revenues yearly. And this’d morons in the Nevada legislation,what do they care? They got their back door deals dashed out, they’ll just pass the Buck on the tax payers, get voted out of office, and leave the mess for the next representatives to deal with.

The San Francisco Bay Area deserves both NL and AL baseball just like Chicago, LA, and NY. We have the fans and the wealth to support two teams. If anyone thinks that the A’s will only play eight games away from Vegas is dreaming. I don’t think the A’s will play any of their eight games in Sacto, there is no benefit to play in a minor league park and the NBC California money is way less than the NBC Bay Area money that the A’s get now.
