Thank you for letting me know that I wasn’t starting to go crazy and not know how to work with Design Space. I did have to get a new computer because of system requirements last month just to run Design Space, which was annoying. I use Cricut for hobby. So I thought I was forgetting how to use the software. Thank you again for letting me know it’s not me.

I go my cricut maker 3 as a gift for Christmas. I’ve done two projects that cut without a hitch. I purchased SVG files & tried to upload & cut it takes too long to upload & when it does it’s not what it’s supposed to be. I’m starting to wish I never asked for a Cricut. What’s the point of paying for something that doesn’t work correctly. I was so excited to make all these wonderful things & each time I try it’s more frustrating to the point that I’ll go weeks without trying to use it.

I can attest to being one of the successful crafters when it comes to print and cut.....However, THE PART THEY AREN'T SEEING is the 3 or 4 files I tried before I finally landed on one that would work in DS. There in lies the problem! Thank you Tanner for holding them accountable. I agree with everything you've said. I also believe they have a great product, but at the same time, for the money spent by those millions of people, there should not be so many glitches.

As a new Cricut user I have been disappointed so far.
My first machine was faulty the day I picked it up from the shop and had to be replaced straight out of the box.
Now on my second Joy Xtra just a few days in the plain vinyl cutting is working fine but making stickers is almost impossible at present.
The Design Space for me has been painfully slow and stalling often when working with print and cut.
Creating contours with PNG designs is hit and miss (often stalling) and I have some stickers that have been cut in half when running through the machine.
A waste of time and materials at present.
I'm running this with a Mac mini running Sonoma with more than the minimum requirements.
I'm now looking at the possibility of doing the contour work in Affinity Designer instead and then importing those PNG's back into Design Space.

I have some craft PTSD. I get a few times a month to craft and I dread turning on my Cricut because there will most likely be some update I have to run before I can simply run a cut. I don’t do anything fancy. I make t shirts for friends and family noting complicated. So frustrating when it will take 45 minutes to make/cut a ‘Birthday Girl’ HTV.
My computer is up to date for other work things I do. Sorry for the rant but happy to see I’m not the only one. I feel like I’m getting gaslighted if I question things on other sites. I appreciate your honesty.

I switched to Silhouette this past month after being solely a cricut user for many years. Let me tell you, yes these are excuses! Cuz Silhouette design studio WORKS FLAWLESSLY!! They are able to manage it no matter os, windows whatever. I'm a Silhouette convert now!! Love it. I love that it just works and is so easy, and was less frustrating. I also love their pricing model. I have no idea why people haven't been singing Silhouettes praises to the rooftops??! It's insane. I only started with cricut because I thought they were better, but turns out they're not. 🤷‍♀️

I love when I go to move something and even though it's locked, I grab it, and it smashes down completely so I cannot grab the corners to fix it, or even go back a step. When I do try to go back a step, often it will dissappear and freeze so I have to start all over again! It's so annoying, frustrating and I end up thinking this isn't worth it! I absolutely LOVE my cricut but it's becoming an absolute slap in the face for all the money, loyalty and support I have given to this company!

Tanner, I'm thankful that you are being an advocate for us with Cricut. Here is my honest opinion on the video and Cricut's response: 1) I don't care that they mentioned "system requirements" that's just a bit of corporate cya 2) Cricut stating that tons of people have successfully completed projects is disappointing. I have completed projects but AFTER dealing with the issues and at times having to close out of Design Space to try again later. 3) Design Space is by far the easiest program to use. (I have tried to get familiar with Canva and Inkscape but find them much more difficult) 4) I think the live sessions with Cricut are a great idea and will go a long way to getting issues resolved.
Please keep holding their feet to the fire so that we get the best program we can. Love you Tanner !!!!

I run on a gamer set up with a high end processer and graphics card and I never have issues running ANY software, except Design Space! The CEO saying to make sure we have the correct "system requirements!" Like, Sir, if my games and other software doesn't lag, your software should be just fine, so why isn't it? Also, there should be extensive testing BEFORE putting out the beta. Hire better programmers, and let them run the alpha tests with a select few with different operating systems. Once those bugs are fixed (because we all know there will be some), then, and only then, let the beta start. Most bugs should be fixed prior to the beta release. The beta is usually to test how the software performs on wide-spread use. I get the feeling they don't understand the tech side of the business, and that's okay, just hire people who do.

I am curious how many software designers/developers/engineers ECT that cricut has gone thru since Design Space came out. A lot of times, when I go to use Design Space to create something, I am quickly reminded why I learned how to just make my own SVG's so that having to use Design Space is kept to a minimum. Saves me time and frustration every time. Don't get me wrong, I do love the machines and have a lot of fun using it, but it'd be nice if cricut would just get their tech stuff together right! It's not rocket science and like everyone is saying, it's not tiny issues, it's the same issues all the time, come on!

Hi Tanner. I appreciate your response to Cricut. I also work in IT. I am a Scrum Master with a Development Team. I also understand the response from Cricut. Unfortunately, most people who are reporting errors are unable to send an error log or a test path on how you reached the error. Without that information they have to be able to recreate on their own. This is almost always the reason for delays in addressing issues. I know that my team at work gets highly frustrated when we can not fix the issue for our clients - I suspect it is the same for them. Additionally, the coding for different operating systems is completely different. I do understand the frustration on their end. I know it seems like a long time you have been waiting however, if you haven’t been on a development team during a lifecycle of a fix it is hard to explain why it appears to takes so much time. I hope that helps with understanding. Thanks

I use to test custom accounting software and everything you said is 💯% correct. It makes me wonder do they have a separate person (s) test the software? I found that when the programmer tested the software they wouldn't find the issue. In doing tech support as well for the product I had to figure out what series of actions did the customer do to get the glitches. I understand it's a lot of work but as a user it's frustrating.

I worked as a tech for a major computer and peripherals company a thousand years ago, so I truly understand how frustrating it is to not be able to sort out customer issues...I think this is what makes me angrier now because many of the issues the customers were facing were recurring product wide and rather than fix the issues, they would make them to be 'user error' instead of accepting responsibility for and fixing the crap they put out...kind of exactly the same as we see right now.
My question regarding your post is...why is it that most people who are reporting errors are unable to send an error log or a test path? You'd think that a program that boasts millions of users would generate user friendly event logs that can be accessed and sent to Design Space developers. I'm not programmer level computer savvy, but I'm by no means a rookie and I can't find an event log let alone send one. I've even reached out to top level Windows IT folks and been told it depends on what the developers allow/offer...well, we've been allowed and offered nothing but excuses...would it not make more sense to develop this option and SEE what is causing the errors rather than wasting so much time trying to reproduce them? I admit, I could be way off base, but research tells me I'm probably not. Sorry for the grump.

Those of us that have worked tech/IT/beta testers are all saying the same thing. I have found that when programmers test software they wrote they test it they way they wrote it. As beta testers your able to go in and test the product as a user. You can record the test path because your able to recreate the glitches multiple times. It's very frustrating because in my opinion they make the users feel like they're not smart enough to understand what's going on and that the user is the problem. Yes, as users we're training ourselves how to work around the issues. Don't get me wrong I love my cricut but not happy with design space these days.

Tanner I agree with you 100 percent. I put my machine away out of frustration working sometimes hours only for the machine to freeze. Other issues you've mentioned are also frustrating. Cricut needs to get their act together. As far as error logs - let's get real. If your a designer you test everything on everything, not just how you've programmed the system to work. Yep other machines are coming on line and I'm seriously looking.

A couple of thoughts for you , Tanner:
I have been teaching in-person classes for 15+ years (some people just can’t learn from videos btw). I have experienced more glitches and issues while teaching in the last 3 months than since Cricut moved to a desktop application platform several years ago. I have actually put off scheduling some classes because I don’t feel like the system is reliable enough right now. Plus, the constant updates are confusing people too much! I don’t want to teach a classroom of users and then an update come out and make the Design Space unrecognizable for them practically over night. I was really confused because the multi-layer feature came out in Beta literally hours after the Cricut CEO released that first post. I know Beta is for testing purposes but there are a lot of people who work exclusively in Beta now.
My latest glitch is that when I change a font or image, nothing changes until I click on the grid screen.
Lastly, while the software issues are frustrating, I feel there are more concerning physical issues with the machines that need to be addressed. I just got a Maker 3 to bridge into engraving. The test cut with vinyl didn’t even scratch the surface. I know enough to research to find a fix - basically the vinyl cut settings were set way too low and I had to manually go in and change all the numbers. But if I had been a brand-new users, I would have probably been so frustrated and tossed the machine into the closet. Apparently there are lots of known issues with the Maker 3. Plus all the problems with the rollers deforming on the original Maker.
I have renamed my Air 2 and now call her Old Trusty!
Keep asking the questions so the rest of us don’t think we are nuts!

Here's the thing Tanner. Yes, we are cutting projects in spite of the issues. It gets so frustrating at times I actually have to shutdown design space and try another day. I have to figure out work around on my own or with the help your videos. I'm so glad that for one I'm not the only one still having issues. I had many of the issues you were having in the first video. Then I got an update and landed up getting more of the issues that were on your list. Yay they are giving us more fonts and images but these bugs in design space can be very frustrating. It sometimes acts like it goes to nowhere land because it hesitates when making changes. I had a problem with a font where when I first typed up the quote I wanted the spacing was perfect. Then I save it to work on it another day and I realized I either misspelled a word. So when I went to fix the word all of a sudden when I pressed the space bar after the word it wouldn't put it on design space. But when I looked at the information panel on the side I can see my space between the word. So I think maybe design space is just wacky today and tried to print sure enough the word I fixed was running into the next word. I LOVE my cricut it allows me to be so creative and as I gain confidence I learn how to do other things with it. I hope they stop passing the buck and just fix it.

Cricut and Ashish are the masters of saving face by saying the right words yet deflecting to something else. He states they take accountability and spend the rest of the post explaining and deflecting that the issues is not a system wide issue, just an issue with “you and your system”. The problem is most people will not report the issue, they just accept it and move on. This has been an issue that has been an issue FOR YEARS!!!!!! It is frustrating because it is usually “we know we have software issues, but look over here at this new machine!” So they have reports that tell them what users are not having issues, but not a report of the issues design space is creating!? 😅

They could save themselves a ton of problems by not trying to make the same software run on different platforms. Make one for iOS, make one for Windows, and others for other platforms as needed. Keep the teams separate. And above all, stop requiring every little command to go through the internet to a central server! I’ll bet 90% of the problems are bandwidth-related, as most certainly are the frustrating delays.

I have some similar thoughts. Just because there are many people using the machines with the end result of a completed project, does not mean that they didn't have issues in achieving that result. Some people are so used to the workarounds that they aren't even thinking about it. Others don't have the energy to complain/explain the issue. I have problems all the time but I can't always articulate the problem. I think the next time I use CDS I will try to pay attention to all of the glitches, etc. And maybe take pictures to send to the company. I do believe it is kind of lame to subtly blame the users because even then, they still bare some responsibility because of the lack of training/guidance that they provide for their machines. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

When I hear that bugs are actually being fixed I will probably go back to my Cricut but until then I can get Disney designs for my Scan n Cut and that is the only thing I don’t do with my Silhouette.

I do not understand why Cricut is ‘game playing’ regarding their Design Space app. I’ve been looking towards getting a different machine since Cricut is NOT demonstrating a true concern for their users. It seems like their concerns are toward the ongoing new machine sales outweighing the need to truly ‘fix’ the issues. I’ve been having more troubles with my maker recently and I’m not quite ready to buy the Juliet cutter but that’s where I’m headed unless Cricut FIXES Design Space. I’m a bit annoyed with the Cricut team as I have invested a lot into their machines etc. Sad and majorly disappointed.

I was working in DS last night and the night before. It KEPT crashing and recycling last night, like a reload without my permission! No (more) issue with the 12 x 24 mat thing BUT, night before last (sat 4/20/24) I was trying to use the cricut card mat. Every time I clicked make it the card mat showed up but was not available for me to choose! I must have tried at least 10 times before I decided NOT to use the card mat but just cut on a regular mat and make my cards in a different way. Of course when I clicked make it, the card mat was available. I'm beginning to hate DS. Just remembered, the night DS kept reloading, it took me more than 4 hours to make 6 very simple cards. I literally felt drained when I came out of my craft room!

I totally understand all of your concerns. I used to be a software tester. That being said, I, unfortunately have not been able to use my machines in a very long time and am not aware of the bugs you are seeing. But, as a professional tester I do know how difficult it is to replicate a bug. I also know how difficult it is for a programmer to fix one tiny item without affecting something(s) that may be much more important. Honestly, you have no idea how many times this happens. Here are some items to include in order to make make replication easier:
    1. System Settings
    2. Personal Cricut options
    3. The browser you are using
    4. Any other open applications
    5. This is actually the most important… list the exact steps you are taking to produce the anomaly.
I’m hoping this helps anyone out there 😻

@@TonyAndersonWebDev I use Sure Cuts a Lot 5, which allows you to save anything you import or design as an SVG, and then export it to Cricut Design Space to cut. Even their older versions were better than Design Space is now. I can do so many things with it that Cricut doesn't do, which I find kinda ridiculous. I mean, how about the simple thing that I can't italicize most of the fonts? I mean, come on! I have to italicize it in Word, screenshot it, save it as a PNG, and upload it to DS just to cut it. That's absolute nonsense. Or how about what we have to go through to "erase" parts of a design, using shapes, because there's no erase function (except for Contour, which really doesn't do enough). Not really trying to excuse the issues, just providing a different perspective. That dev team is probably working really hard right now.

    Tanner
I am a seasoned Cricut user. I still have my original Cricut as well as the original Explorer machine. I currently have a Cricut Joy that I use with my Android phone and a Maker 3 and Venture that I use with my Microsoft Surface. The only issues that I have experienced are related to saving and undoing previous steps. Having said that, I realize that this is only an issue when I save for offline use. As an IT security professional who is also a crafter, I know that the delay is due to the change in logging into the software. The software no longer resides on the machines. It is cloud based, and you log into a user interface. If you don't have enough RAM and a fast internet/WIFI connection, there will be a delay. I need more RAM and that's not a Cricut issue.
I am not defending Cricut, but I get why they mentioned recommended system requirements. There is a huge difference between requirements and an optimized system. Both will work, one will simply work better with less issues. No two computers will always have the same reason for an error/issue so you must replicate the issue. It could be the Cricut software or it could be some other software hogging memory or even a combination of the two. Someone could have very little hard drive space left on their hard drive. A solid state drive works better than a non solid state drive.
I would be curious to know if the issues are related to one operating system more or equally across all. There are distinct differences in the features offered.
Just my thoughts and two cents as an IT security professional who also crafts with Cricut.

It has also occurred to me that I am also running the beta version of Design Space. Are people having issues running the beta version of Design Space? I am also wondering if many of the issues are beta related issues. If you are not running the beta version and the issues persist, then track the issues in settings so that Cricut gets the diagnostic file to help resolve the issue.
I realize that glitches happen in beta and am okay with that as beta testing is necessary to work all the issues before implementing the final changes.
BTW, gaming computers usually cost more because of the graphic card, which is optimized for gaming and does not translate to be better for other tasks.

One of the main issues with print and cut is the calibration page that prints directly from design space is incorrect. I had a ton of issues a few months ago and after probably 100+ recalibrations and conversation with Cricut suppprt I found that if you print the calibration page directly from Cricut’s website (print at 100% scale from adobe reader) and calibrate with that it works FLAWLESSLY. Just like it used to. If you hold up that page and the one printed from design space against a light to see the difference the DS one is WAYYY OFF. I told Cricut about this and they even gave me a gift card for bringing this to their attention.

Yes I make a mistakes on some occasions but part of the time consuming process is because DS isn't working smoothly...ie select undo and part of my design disappears or try to move an object and it doesn't really move, try to search a recently used font and no fonts display in the list etc. Not to mention how slow DS is to process each element I add at times or when I'm trying to save my project. Anyone who expresses a concern immediately gets jumped on by other users telling them their DS runs fine and it must be user error. The CEO is doing too many posts telling how great everything is and how great everyone is doing on the team. For example, just saw a post where the lady cut a project, took a a coffee break, came back and had to update and it stopped working. For example, if there 18 mats, it will only show the first 10. Very frustrating because I have to cancel out of there then hit continue so I can see the next mat.
When moving an item sometimes it looks like you moved it, but it hasn’t. So you have to go back and click on it and try to move it again.
Fonts don’t stretch. Sometimes you want to elongate a font and it won’t do it.

The cursor not moving at all then zipping across the page is ridiculous and that happens often. I no longer run other applications while using my Cricut and recently moved a ton of files onto am external hard drive just to see if Cricut DS would work at its previous speed. After a few years, the Print then Cut function and calibration stopped working altogether, and after quite a few costly mistakes, I went with another brand. Was there a learning curve? Absolutely. Thing is the things I could no longer do on my Maker, I learned to do on my new machine within hours of setup. The feedback we give from the WEEKLY lives had been incorporated into new updates. I know yesterday while trying to create, DS was laging to the point I just had to walk away. I was trying to downsize an image into the tool bar and the image was several seconds behind. Then I could not grab the image to move it.
    So frustrating!

I don't know what they did when it comes to the text box? I never had issues before. Now I experiance problems. If I am doing something wrong I wish I knew what. Sometimes the steps I use work, otherwise I can do the same thing a few days later and won't work.

me too. Using the text box today to make a calendar of the family birthdays and anniversaries for my mom for Mother's Day. I used squares and turned them 90 degrees and then attempted to make 3 text boxes, one for the date, one for the family members name and one for either B'day or Anni. Either one of the words or the number from the square I was working in would just disappear even though it showed in the layers panel and I had 27 to do. Finally got it done but was constantly saving every one or two changes. Sometimes I had to quit the program and one time I had to do both the above and reboot my computer. Honestly is text that difficult? I did report this to Cricut. Don't know if it will help or if it will change anything. I have this problem on every project I make using text boxes. Okay, I'm done ranting for now.

As someone who tested software, I am going to give them some grace. They need to parse the problems unique to each platform. We did need to ensure the problems reported are related to Cricut software and not user hardware or user software. Replication of issues is the way to resolve an issue. You want to be sure fixes don't break something else. Regression testing from end to end before a patch update takes time, especially with all the platforms. Not everyone keeps current with technology, making Cricut's job much harder. By the way, IT developers usually don't use the software, each development team is responsible for developing the software. A component integration testing should be done within IT to ensure all the coding and user screens work as the functional spec was written. It is up to Cricut's testing team to test the full user functionality. With the bugs and issues, there seems to be a disconnect internally within those defined rolls. They may need to grow the team to meet user expectations.

Thank you so much Tanner for sharing this with us! I have a brand new computer , an up to date tablet and cell phone. I actually just purchased my computer hoping to eliminate /reduce the problems I was having. I think it is not correct as the saying he made that there are many that cut and design with no problems, as how can he actually say that. There are many that most likely do not message them with their problems, I for one have not communicated my issues with Cricut. I do believe they need to focus on what they have now, we do not need to add a new machine as often as they do. Let correct/update and finesse what we have! Thank you once again for keeping us up to date, you and your TEAM are fantastic!!!!

I have been using Cricut devices for probably 15 years, recently I’ve wanted to literally throw my computer out the window when trying to use Design Space (and I don’t get frustrated easily) -I am SO GLAD it’s not just me, but think it’s time to go with another cutting system (probably Siser)

Tanner, I have seen all three of the videos you have done on the Cricut's Design Space issues and I greatly appreciate your honesty, integrity, and sincerity. Holding Cricut accountable is the only proper course of action. I have someone coming to my house on April 27th to check out Cricut before she purchases one. I have to be honest with her and tell her the difficulties Cricut users are having. I honestly don't feel I can recommend the product to anybody at this time.

Design space for me is still so unstable. I was trying to do a simple text project and after about 25-30 minutes, I gave up. The text box would not convert so I could start to type. When I did get it to convert, the text would jump around and sometimes disappear, it was so incredibility frustrating! I have a brand-new desktop computer so I am sure that my system requirements are good, so what else is there to blame but Design Space? Cricut, you need to do better!

I made it to the end of the video. Thank you Tanner for the update and speaking up for all us cricut users. Personally the jab about users minimum requirements is a cop out. From previous experience be it creating a web pages or a game on JavaScript, the testing we had to do was a fair bit. Given it to a range of testers, ie; different age groups, computer experience.....and essentially see if you can break it. The issues we.re all having shouldnt have to be replicated, they should have mostly if not all shown up on the testing side before the roll out of any new updates. I appreciate that there is many platforms for these to be rolled out on and the testing can be time consuming but by that reckoning, focus on the testing. Flawless cuts, whats the time scale here? Press make it n thats you sorted. Say two three mins, where as i could still have a flawless cut. But have had to go through the frustration of Design Space lagging or its kicked out my machine etc...

Reading all the posts from users in my fb groups about all the glitches going on with ds & cutting & fonts etc has held me back from trying other projects. Im not familiar enough with the product to work out all these fixes to try something new. I would like to do other things but with all the faults with this system, it is holding me back

A random stranger, lovely lady, approached me and a friend in the Cricut aisle of a craft store about 3 weeks ago. She has a Scan N Cut but has also been thinking about getting a Cricut. She struggles with the SNC and was hoping the Cricut would be easier. She struggles with tech. I am new to Cricut...too new to notice bugs/glitches. But I could definitely tell her that Design Space is NOT intuitive or user friendly. I normally don't have problems figuring out new software. I am not afraid of learning new things. But DS is crazy ridiculous. It is ridiculous that Cricut requires (by complexity of design, not by mandate) that there be folks like you and others to teach us how to use DS. The machines themselves aren't an issue...it's DS. Not that I'm saying it should be totally dumbed down - all those customizing features are important and if you can figure them out, I imagine they are super helpful. It should be Cricut who has a user guide / how-to for each machine, not random folks like yourselves creating things to fill in Cricut's glaring gap. I had to BUY a detailed user guide from another maker when, for the price we pay for the machine, there should be one included, even if just digital, for each machine. All I have found from my machines is just instructions for how to set them up and cut the samples. My old $15 alarm clock radio from Walmart included more instructions. That said...maybe I'm not that target audience? Maybe DS is SUPPOSED to just be for professionals...like Photoshop and different other design software? The Cricut marketing makes it seem like it should be for anybody, but the complexity and lack of easy-to-find how-tos from Cricut seem to indicate the opposite. I dunno. Either way, it's a missed opportunity. Channels like this should only need to exist to SUPPLEMENT already-great support/instructions from the product company. But the reality is, if channels like this didn't exist (thank you!!!!), many of us wouldn't be able to use our machines at all. I don't use mine as often as I'd like because of that. Which brings another question: Perhaps, despite what the CEO said in the posts, they are satisfied once we've bought the machines. Perhaps it doesn't matter if a bunch of them sit idly, under a cover of dust, in a closet somewhere because DS is too daunting to figure out once the moneyhas been spent to purchase them?

My original Expression and SCAL program work to this day. I feel cricut needs to work with Sure Cuts-a-lot to get a strong program. I have never ever had a program update as much as design space. Most of the time it updates and gets worse. I love cricut, but I feel they are spinning their wheels and are just focused on making more machines to make more money.

I agree with all of your concerns and issues, but I will add from the perspective of a software developer that while seeing the error on someone else's screen is helpful in locating where an issue appears in the GUI, it does not always help in replicating the error in the code base where it will have to be fixed. What you have provided them will no doubt speed them to a solution, but developers still have to be able to replicate code errors in order to fix them, so don't give them too much grief for that. Saying they are replicating is just due diligence to make sure they fix the right thing without creating more problems. I do thank you for everything you do to help the community, other crafters and even Cricut (though they may not always see it that way:) )

I wish I could like your comment 100 times lol I never post on UA-cam but as Software tester, this video made me wince. I know users don't understand how much work goes into producing bug free software and how much information we need to fix an issue but it's painful to hear a company being criticized for just saying they need to recreate an issue. To the non-IT people reading this, if you can't reliably recreate it, and that means 100% of the times I do steps A, B and C, the issue appears, then you can't guarantee any code change will fix it. For a graphic design software like design space, sooo many things can impact what happens on your machine, the image or clip art you are using, the fonts you use, the colors, have you flipped, rotated or resized the item, does it have shadow, blur, what was the line weight... just sooo many variables. The software I support is a graphic design tool and trying to recreate user bugs, even widespread ones, is so difficult and if we don't know exactly what is causing it, we can't fix it. We usually need hundreds of examples with detailed information to identify the pattern of what exactly is causing the issue. I know it's frustrating but I promise the IT team is working hard and not just ignoring issues or making excuses. I do not work for circuit but if their team is anything like mine, they are working hard to fix the issues as soon as they are made aware of them.

  • @allisween4222
    @allisween4222 4 місяці тому +1

I haven’t reported issues. Maybe I should. So if there team isn’t taking into consideration that a percentage of people aren’t reporting that is a problem too. I get they need to replicate issues to understand what is happening and what needs to be fixed. However, that does indeed sound like an excuse. Other than the freezing and objects missing or tracking when moved the biggest issues I have faced are with print and cut. Cutting has been extremely inconsistent and even 1/16 off can be a huge problem if making stickers for example. I have had one page cut 2/16 off and the next cut an inch and a half off, in consecutive cuts.

Cricut is just making excuses. I have had daily issues and spend hours doing projects due to software issues. Cricut needs to step up and fix these issues. I appreciate your voice because not everyone takes the time to report issues and just finds ways to work around their issues. I just hope cricut will actually put the effort into making design space what we all expect it to be! I do not feel anyone should have to be paying to use design space when there are so many issues. I have actually contacted Cricut and asked for a refund stating the software doesn't work as it should and was told I could not get a refund. Thank you for speaking up!

I stopped using my Cricut and I usually crafted 3 days a week. You know they didn't even admit any issues until you called them out on it. They still won't give updates. Why not have a known issues page so users can check to see if their issue is already being addressed and if there is a workaround. I wonder if the overall number of cuts went down in the past few months. Not very transparent IMHO

Real die hard Cricut users will know their system requirements and find that insulting. Thank you Tanner for holding him accountable! Cricut Members pay for Design Space and when it works it really great but since the updates it drives most users to use other software like Canva, Inkspace, Word, Adobe, Etc. Anish needs to address this now before his community leaves him for good!

But what does 'cutting successfully' really mean? For so very long, I thought the glitches were user error! I thought they ME MAKING mistakes, not system issues because I assumed with how much we pay for the machines and for those of us that pay for Cricut Access - I expect and assume it just works. There are work arounds and I guarantee you there are more users than anyone knows who experience the glitches! They just don't realize they ARE glitches - they probably think it's them making a mistake like many of us thought for so long. Just my opinion...thanks again for holding them to a higher standard.

Thanks for your hard work--and sympathy for your frustration. @ weeks ago, I was on the phone with Cricut customer service for almost 2 hours, two or three different employees. After trying what feels like a thousand work arounds, having to film the machine not working, to prove I own the machine I filmed (Ok, I get it) they decided to replace the machine. The issue is: after I insert the mat with the paper (gone through all the steps) nothing happens. The "GO" light doesn't come on. A few days later, the machine showed up, I sent back the "defecting" one. It worked! YAY! Wait--I go to cut a project for my class today, and SAME ISSUE. I don't want to be on the phone for hours, for them to decide I need to return this one, get my old machine back, and not have it work. OBVIOUSLY it's a DS issue (and not the only issue, I was having many of the issues you pointed out in your previous video.). Do I want to spend another 2 hours of my time jumping through hoops to get a machine and a system that I have spent thousands of dollars on, to work? I've used Cricut since shortly after the first, 6 inch machine came out. And now....wasted. NOT a happy satisfied customer. And if they ask for a review.......

I got my Cricut Explore Air 2 for Christmas in 2018, and bought a Maker in 2021, then promptly returned it because of Cricut's announcement of 10 uploads per month.
I don't subscribe to Cricut Access - there are plenty of other places to get beautiful fonts and designs (many of them free).
I don't buy Cricut vinyl, etc.
What I'm saying is, I don't give Cricut any of my money anymore. I think more users should hit Cricut in their bank account. Then their shareholders would make sure that Cricut would get the message that things needed to improve.

I am effectively a new user of DS having dabbled in it a little previously. The family gifted my wife a Cricut Maker 3 for a recent birthday. She has been a very successful manual card maker for a number of years and it was hoped the Cricut would enhance this. Unfortunately the Cricut experience has been frustrating and stressful rather than fun and relaxing. Most of this is frustration with DS, the machine performing well once the cut files are generated.
I am not a professional at anything but do have extensive experience with some design and CAD software. Since we live in Australia our measurement system, like most places outside USA, is metric. Comparing the imperial and metric grids supplied in DS we see the imperial divided into tenths (just over 2.5 mm) yet the metric grid only shows whole centimetres making minimum spacings almost 4 times as large. This suggests to me that providing this for users outside USA is almost an afterthought rather than part of serious software design. One suggestion in the thread is to overhaul DS ahead of any machine development. I agree. Many makers understandably resort to the wonderful open source tool, Inkscape, for producing SVG shapes. Almost every other drawing program has now incorporated vector based design elements. It would be useful to know if Cricut has plans to introduce vector tools (other than the existing vector shapes and boolean tools that currently exist), or if the current restricted toolset is maintained to 'encourage' use of Access. Surely the convenience of Access should be enough in itself. It would be useful to know about future directions including major bug fixes, and publishing those directions will give Cricut the incentive to achieve them.
