No. Next? " A lot of the new features" - have been available from other software companies since the software came out. Why does design space add a little snippet of something- that never works right for at least a year- and then another snippet, and another snippet... Instead of just giving us all of the stuff we need RIGHT NOW!? Everyone else seems to be able to do it- why can't they? Why has Silhouette been doing everything we need to do for at least the past 10 years, yet Design Space STILL can't catch up. You're right, they need to go back to basics and get the core fixed before they start adding all of the broken bells and whistles.
Thank you soooo much. I have a maker. The worst money spent. Hope they realize they are not living up to the Cricut standards. Thank you once again. You made a great big difference for all of us. Thanks
As a former programmer I see a significant lack of focus on pre-release testing. In this type of testing the new updates/programming changes are added to the software that is currently in “production” - meaning the program that the public is currently using. This is all uploaded and run in a “testing environment” which is completely separate from the current programs being used by the public. In this testing environment programmers and testers use the programs to see: 1. Does what they added work? and 2. Does what they added mess up what has been working in the programs currently being used by the public. If “glitches” like you describe show up in testing, programmers see it, fix it, or pull it out completely. The main goal is to not break what’s already working!! There are so many “glitches” that, from my point of view, the software team is being driven to add as many new features as possible, without focus on the quality of what they are releasing. I’d look hard at process improvement of the software programming and testing processes if I was responsible for the software product Cricut releases.
The print and cut doest work they need to fix it. I have called and they don’t have a solution. Their solution is to buy a another one. Why would I spend more money on an expensive machine when the company doesn’t help. Never again will I buy another circuit.
They responded to you because you presented the issues in A concise non judgmental way. Thank you so much for addressing this. Have a lot of respect for you
Thank you for standing up and speaking out the truth Tanner. Honestly, I was getting so frustrated with design space that I barely use my Cricut anymore. I’m glad someone with a voice has spoken for us and it’s been heard!
I was so excited to get my cricut. I struggle to learn how to use it with my IPad since I don’t currently have a computer. I’m thankful for Makers Gonna Learn and Jennifer Maker. Both channels are honest and useful. Hopefully Cricut will actually make positive moves as they have stated.
Interestingly, Jennifer Maker also posted a similar video about Design space issues. Consider your membership and hers that’s about 1.8 million crafters. Very intelligent of Cricut to respond.
Well maybe I’m crazy because I can’t find it now. Yes it was on UA-cam. Honestly I only watched a few minutes and then moved on-thinking I knew the issues already.
One of my big pet peeves is when I spend a lot of time fitting things on the mats in the make it screen to make better use of my paper or vinyl and there is no way to save that for a later date.
You can try making a 12x12 guide (the pink outline instead of the basic cut) on the canvas, fitting all the things you need in that guide then select all and hit attach. Save that and when you go to hit make, it will be the same as how you attached it on your canvas. I’ve done that, hope that helps!
Please join me in asking Cricut for a what you see is what you get layout option like all earlier Cricut software had and that all competing software has. In the meantime you can use the dummy shape method where you place a small shape at x = .25 in, y = .25 inches and attach everything to that. Set the dummy shape to an operation you aren't using, like pen, and leave the a side empty. When you do this, the canvas layout will match the prepare screen and can be saved with the project.
@@justthethreeofus5055 Interestingly, having used that method since 2014, it would not work on Saturday, just after the newest update!! Although the size was well below the print and cut parameters - the software reported it was too big when attached and would not progressed to "make it'. Unattached the p/c objects and progress to make it. On the print and cut mat the parts fit just as I had them set up on the canvas!!! Hummm.
Tanner, this is just another example of how you raise the bar for our community. Your professionalism shines through. Happy to see that Cricut has listened. Awesome. Continue your success in life and business. After all of the years, you are still your authentic and kind self. Thank you for sharing your crafting knowledge. Kudos to you and the team 💜🙏🏽
Thank you! My biggest frustration is having to install an update every time I open Design Space. It doesn't matter if it's been a few days or a few hours, I spend upwards of an hour trying to get the program to open.
I’m glad that they responded. Hopefully it will help get cricut up to par. I’m just a hobbyist but doesn’t mean I can’t get frustrated when it’s not operating correctly
Ohmygosh. It's a miracle that you ended up on my feed. I've had a cricut for years. Practically untouched. I'd had soooo many issues with it that I just thought it was beyond me. I'd love to be able to use my nearly brand new cricut one day. Thank you so much for making these videos.❤❤❤
Glad to know I'm not the only one who has been experiencing issues! Every time I do a print then cut project, design space says that the cutting is 100% complete but it wont release the matt from machine. I have to manually turn off machine and turn back on for it to release. It's been like this for months! Glad they responded.
I think it really demonstrates professional integrity that the CEO responded the way he did. I must says the Undo button seems repaired with the update late this week. The disappearing design in DS as well as the DS screen jumping away seem random, do not happen constantly, more intermittently. Hopefully, these issues will be resolved fairly quickly so we can all get the maximum benefit from our machines. Thank Tanner for being our VOICE.
It seems to happen with the *older* things. Like, I'm going to a project I have already done and trying to edit a few things and make it, but it locks up, and I can edit 2 things, and that's it. Or I click on a text, and it changes color and font, and i click undo.....nothing locks up.
Yes! I mentioned the same in the comments on the first video. I had a project that took probably 10+ hours JUST for the print then cut. It should not have even taken me half of that. My husband ended up putting the design into Photoshop and modifying the image for me because I just couldn't get the job done in Design Space. I don't remember what he did, but it worked.
This is AMAZING Tanner! It's so good to know that it's not just me. I honestly can't afford a new laptop and I thought that's why I stayed in "load" mode. I also have had a design I made in DS never load again. Customer service said I'd just have to re-make it (hours of work) because they can't promise it can be fixed. I wish I could download my creations so I don't risk losing them.
This proves to me that Cricut is very serious about its customers ! This is a very professional company obviously. Tanner your video was also done professionally and well done. It is not easy to tell things the truth and you did it with all the kindness and softness that it needed. Well done! ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I would just like to say that there are a few people who seem upset by my comment! The fact that Cricut responded in the way it did, shows to me that at least they have heard Tanner. They are listening! Whether people in the past have thrown away their Cricut or not, which I think is a stupid act anyway, Cricut is a professional Company always trying to improve. Sometimes failing. 🤷♀️ That is life. Tanner did the right thing and now Cricut is very aware of the issues. To be rude and slam the company doesn’t do much good in helping Tanner get things right, in my opinion. Just saying.
Are you kidding me? Cricut customers have been screaming from the mountains for YEARS on serious glitches with design space, to no avail, up to the point people started filming and posting themselves throwing their cricut machine in the garbage. Sad thing when the machine itself is phenomenal, it’s ALWAYS been design space which is the problem.
@@artcreationsbydar I’ve been dealing with Cricut CS for 4 years. They’re horrible and if you had any interaction with them as a professional user, you would know. Discount the millions of us, please.
YES to the inconsistent print and cut. Recalibrate, recalibrate, recalibrate. Many times I’ve just said screw it and shut it down. Am in the process of choosing which print company to use. HOPEFULLY I won’t have to now. Fingers crossed. Thank you!!
I moved to Silhouette and don't have any of those issues any longer. The Silhouette Portrait is great for doing stickers and decals! I've not lost one sheet since switching. I have kept my Cricut machines for my personal projects, gifts, etc. Just no print and cut!!
On print and cut, I use a workaround taught to me last year - apologies - I can't remember who said it. Rather than print straight to your printer, print your file as a pdf. Once it's a pdf, you can set up your printer to have a specific printing profile with the following choices: MOST CRUCIALLY make sure the Paper Size and Handling is set to Actual Size, and that in the Page Setup button, your paper size is set to the same size as your choice in Design Space. If you do this, you won't have to keep recalibrating, and your files will cut accurately. (As someone who compiles lots of orders in one go, this isn't a hardship, I create all my files, save them to a specific drive, then when I go into the print room, I can print them all in advance of cutting them).
Thank you for standing up. My issue with the company is that when I decided to cancel Access, as I wasn’t using my machine as much, I lost everything!!!!!! I spent hard earned money buying many images - and they are all gone! All I have on my account are images that I designed. I did talk with a great woman named Ruby, but now it’s up to me to take pictures of all of my cartridges and send them to Cricut. Mind you, I have been with Cricut from the start. I have every machine that they have made. I also decided to cancel access , because there are just too many images that I would never use. I didn’t want to scroll through hundreds of images to find the one that I wanted. And so many I would never use. I also had a lot of my original cartridges downloaded and I can’t find them now. So all I’m stuck with is just the designs that I made. So, I can’t even use my machines. Mind you I have not only the original machines, but multiple machines of each machine. I feel that the company has abandoned me as a customer. And, it sounds like there are many people who decided to cancel access that are in the same boat as me. I am beyond upset about being treated like this. I want to use my Cricut’s but knowing that I have to take pictures of every single cartridge that Cricut ever made, is daunting and all I end up doing is crying in frustration. I feel like I was thrown out like trash because I decided to cancel my access account.
I agree Cricut abandoned long time users that don’t need all of the access images. We have been shoved aside. I wouldnt mind paying for software updates but not pay monthly just to use the full software. I also have a Silhouette and a one time payment for the software upgrade lets me use all the software has to offer.
Thank you Tanner for starting this conversation for all the Crafters out there!!! These issues are real. Not only have we invested our money and materials, but our precious time. Lets hope that your videos truly motivate Cricut to take a serious look at improving our experience! 💕🌴😎
Thank you, Tanner. Kudos to Cricut for responding. I was so happy to find out that I was not the only person who experienced a couple of the problems--Undo not working and the mat scrolling off the screen. So frustrating, especially the Undo problem. Suggestion to Cricut: Don't be so quick to add new features before spending the time to make sure these changes don't impact the stability of the program in other ways.
My husband is a software architect. I can 100% confirm that things do go wrong when you add or change a feature. Software integrations are very complex.
Circuit needs beta testers like you Tanner, meaning you test new features before release of the update. As an owner of a software company this does reduce bugs getting through to the public. Most crafters trust circuit and assume the issue is theirs not circuits and if they use a group of expert beta testers this could be avoided. TestFlight is an excellent program we ( Inzant Sales ) use for iPad and iPhone testing, Thanks Tanner I had stopped using my circuit as I had had so much trouble with the software.
OMG! I have had at least 5 of these issues happen to me. I wasted 12 sheets of the not inexpensive Easy Subli paper on a print and cut for two shirts because 20:49 regardless of how many times I calibrated the Maker 3 it still cut wrong. I own 5 Cricut machines and absolutely love them but I thought these problems were all me. Thanks for giving us a voice!!!
OMG! I wasted a whole pack of Easy Subli myself Cricut cut the design not on the printed part but on the white that is supposed to be the trash hope this make sense. I haven't touch my machine in about a week i am about to switch company.
Thank you for speaking up for all of us. Today I had to shut down my project no less than 20 times for a power cycle message. I know have to unplig after almost every cut. My husband cleared the cache, uninstalled DS, completed a power surge amongst other things. I have already bought a new ppwer cord. I have called CS about this and it is not fixed. Ugh!
You are amazing Tanner. Thank you so much for speaking up for all of us. I’ve been waiting for someone on a large platform to speak up about these issues and it doesn’t surprise me at all that it was you who had the guts to speak up. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You are so brave, real and SO appreciated!!!!!! 🙏🏻❤️
I had the problem with no.8 and it was not Cricut machine calibration. It was the printer, printing out the calibration sheet incorrectly from the cricut machine. Once I downloaded the calibration sheet from the cricut site and printing it from there my cricut machine calibrated perfectly. Hope this helps someone. I was so frustrated as I tried literally over 100 times to calibrate from my cricut program. But it only took one try with the calibration sheet from the cricut site.
This is exciting!! I cannot wait to see what Cricut does. I have been with Cricut since the start. I did buy another brand but struggled to learn their software So I will stay with Cricut for life. Thank you for bringing all this to light and Cricut for listening.
Outstanding! It's very encouraging that they not only acknowledged the video and feedback, but took it to heart and are making a strategic plan to better their software. Thank you for stepping up for the crafting community and having the conversation that brought to their attention whether intentional or not.
Thank you, Tanner! I really felt that it was me who was such a doofus! You addressed so many concerns that are true across the board. I, too, have had terrible problems with my Cricut Maker 3 telling me to unplug my machine then restart. Took me forever to get it straight. Thank you again!
Yaaaassss to almost all of these things. I have been so frustrated that I have not used my Cricut in many months. Thank you for making me feel validated and expressing everyone’s concerns so eloquently.
I .have experienced my design diapering while trying to work on a project. I truly pray and hope that this issue is fixed. @ Tanner, thank you so much for doing the first video.
I remember last time when circuit made a change on the access to the software and they stepped it back after listening to their customers. Now this response. It shows me they do care about customers. I remember the road show years ago when I met you and the CEO and I was impressed with both of you.
Rock on, Tanner! I also thought the glitches I was seeing were my fault and I'd stopped using my Cricut because of the frustration. Thanks for your first video (I saw it right after it went live) and for this follow up. And YAY for the Cricut team for responding in a thoughtful and positive manner.
Thank you Tanner and Cricut . As a small business owner these issues have made it very trying of late. The constant being unable to resize an image The mat alway being 12x 24 Taking a long time to load files and it being blank
The most recent updates are beyond frustrating! They should never have made it to release as it's buggier than an alpha not even good enough to be considered beta!!
Hey Tanner I’m surprised that the scoring lines weren’t brought up. There are no score lines. I bought the score tool and no luck, I still have to score manually. Thank you!
First, thank you soooo much for this space! I’ve had issues and just didn’t know who to “vent” to 😂🤣 it’s great to have this community who are experience similar issues! 1. The undo button OMG 😫😫😫😫 2. When I try to move my images (or text) around, it’s like the images will disappear then reappear in the same area and not the area I moved it to. 3. I’ve experienced glitches with the mirroring feature-my mirror feature is turned on but it still cuts the image/text in an “un-mirrored” way. (If that makes sense 😂) 4. Yesssssss I’ve experienced the images disappearing completely. 5. Layers selection is a PAIN!!!!!!! One other thing that really broke my heart and I felt like I couldn’t do anything about it because the warranty on the machine had expired, was when my Cricut heat press went completely out. I tried troubleshooting it and it did not fix the problem. I hardly used it because I ended up getting a larger heat press but I would use it occasionally for smaller projects. It just went out completely.😢😢😢
Someone mentioned your video on the Cricut FB group. They couldn’t have missed it! Greatful that they responded because the problems have been listed on the FB site with no real response. Thank you!,
Yes, I have experienced some of the glitches as well. The undo button, save function, jumpy screen. Thank you, Tanner, for putting yourself out there for the crafting community. Cricut, thank you for listening.
I love that Cricut responded. Many companies don’t pay as close attention to their customers’ input as they should. I’ve experienced many of the items you outlined. Most often the issue with adding and offset where DS just spins and won’t add the offset and/or it takes minutes for DS to respond. I’ve also experienced the unplug error when trying to ‘Make It’. There are other issues as well but those are probably the most common for me. Thanks Tanner and Cricut.
Thank you! Bought new iPad, dragged my internet provider out to upgrade our service . Even today still a mess on design space. Was shopping for a new system I am so frustrated.
Now that you have listed these glitches, I realized I have experienced several of them. I'm a hobby crafter, so I'm not in Design Space everyday but I thought the glitches were just something I was experiencing.
Tanner Thank you for posting these two videos about design space. I just bought my cricut before Christmas and was pretty disappointed. I thought I was doing something wrong and put the machine away. I couldn't figure out why it would not always work for me. You gave me the incentive to try using my cricut again. I hope Cricut listens and improves design space because the machine itself is pretty nice. I think they responded because you presented the problems in a nonjudgmental professional way. Thanks for speaking up for all of us.
Thanks for the update Tanner! It's nice that the CEO took the time to not only respond but has already taken this information to the Cricut team so they can begin to look at how to make the experience better. I've come across the error message to unplug my machine alot. It started happening around the time bluetooth started to play up. I now have it connected by USB as well. My biggest frustration is the machine seems to disconnect between mats alot now. It'll finish cutting a mat perfectly fine but then just freezes when the unload button should start flashing. It means resarting my machine to get it to spit the mat out and then cancelling cut and starting the cutting selection menu all over again. So frustrating when you have multiple layers as it takes so long.
Also it freezes when picking fonts and when trying to move images in canvas. And when it starts it’s slow and when opening projects takes forever. I have 57gb on my computer.
I’m so surprised they replied! Thank you for doing this video! My issue with my Cricut Maker is that it won’t cut fabric, I have tried different blades, textures of fabric and different pressure levels. Every time my fabric gets ruined! I’ve given up!
When I cut fabric I have to make sure the mat is very clean and really sticky. I can only use the mat that is intended for fabric. Have you seen the hack for placing contact paper or transfer paper down on the mat and then putting the fabric on? I find that doing so helps to keep the mat clean/sticky while allowing fabric to cut. It's frustrating when you are unable to do what you need to do with your Cricut machine. I hope you find something that makes it work!
Have you had any problem with the size of the fabric cut not being the size you sent to the software. I bought my Cricut so that I could cut fabric for applique to use on my Embroidery machine. However, when it shows up on My Design Space it is a different size and I can't use it as an applique piece, even though I can get it to cut. I manually type in the dimensions but it doesn't cut accurately when I click "make it". With the embroidery machine all the lines, curves and details must be exactly the same (not just the height and width)
It’s great to know that your voice has been heard. I experienced so many of these issues. I just thought that I wasn’t very knowledgeable about my machine. It’s very validating to hear from you and so many others who’ve had the same issues. Thank you again and again.
I have had the problem regarding the canvas jumping over. Mostly mine are all glitches such as when picking a font it does not change until I click out and off of the text, when using offset it does the same no change until click apply and even sometime then it does not change. when trying to move something on canvas does not show move until click off of the item. Truly things are taking 2 or more times longer to do because of these glitches. Tanner thank you for the videos on this, I am so glad you got Cricuts attention & I am hoping they can get these things fixed very soon.
I'm having those issues as well. Also when I click on the app it comes up across all three of my screens black. I have to "quit" and reopen. Sometimes more than once before it will open and be normal size.
I am brand new to Cricut and as I was following a tutorial on learning on how to use my Cricut, I had the image disappear when I clicked on it on my canvas. I thought I had done something wrong. Thank you for clarifying that this is a bug.
Tanner, thank you so much for addressing this for us. I have had so many issues with my Print & Cut feature. I calibrate several times until I get it satisfactory. Not good, just almost, then I go to cut my stickers and they are WAY off. It's gotten so bad that I've been Printing my designs and cutting them by hand. So frustrating. I've had some of the other issues you've addressed, offset issues, undo, etc. but this is my main complaint. Thanks again!
Yes on the inconsistent print then cut and after it is done cutting it just freezes and you can't recut if you need to. I need to cancel the cut to even get it out of the machine.
Other issues I have experienced is saving a project, then not being able to open it on later date. I had to redo 2 projects for MakerU because of that. Thank you so much for always being our advocate. We appreciate you!!!!
I have this problem also. All of my saved projects are now unable to be opened up for changes. Yet I was able to do so many, many times before. I save projects often to as I work on a design at a later time. Now I can't do that making the program almost useless to me as someone who has little time to design and needs to be able to come back to something later.
Thank you so much to you and Cricut for this video. I received my machine about 6 years ago as a gift from my children. As an older woman there was a learning curve to be able to run the machine. Now that I know not everything that was confusing was my fault, I will hopefully be able to use my machine more often and try more difficult projects.
I have had the undo button issue, the mat issue, the disappearing image issue, offset won’t load until I click away from it,some of my images turn black after saving and I have lost images. This doesn’t happen to all projects, but it has become more consistent
Tanner, Bravo to you!!! I just purchased the full platform of machines and materials from Cricut for 2 different families, who were both experiencing all kinds of problems...money wasted if these 2 young families cannot have success with the materials...thanks again Tanner for stepping forward and speaking for all of us, I am now able to go back to these young people and explain the situation.
PRINT THEN CUT - YES 😭 One night I spent hours printing 27 calibration sheets then recalibrating hoping to figure it out - blamed myself, blamed the printer, blamed the lighting in my house, blamed the dust in the house, blamed my brand new macbook, blamed the fact that my cricut’s been moved twice and maybe it was moved too much? - bought a new printer and the problem persisted! I’ve only hand cut sticker since then!! Thank you for this!
I can’t even get mine to print! DS triggers the printer, then, nothing. Not even the wheel of death as I call it! The project just disappears from the print queue. But the last time a few months ago when using the print and cut, I too was having to shut down and recalibrate. Again, thought it was me or my machine…
I used DS a week ago and was having trouble with the undo function. I haven't made anything since Nov so I kept thinking I wasn't using the button right. Thanks for posting the video Tanner. I am happy to hear that cricut is open to listening and making improvements to DS.
I worked for a company testing for bugs in the software programs. I worked remotely if cricket is interested, I can test with Windows PC, iPhone, iPad. I use my cricket almost daily as a hobbyist. A couple of weeks ago I had spent quite a bit of time with a font with glyphs, and when I went to make it, it was stuck. I could not save it. I decided to leave it alone and wait for a few hours. Then I got it to work. Thank goodness!.
I have been part of the 3D printer community for a few years. I just got a maker refurbished unit 2 months ago. I was disappointed that i needed to pay a subscription fee to make stuff with ease. I got over it....I now love it and it has enhanced my 3D sales.
Thank you for being our voice for this large community of makers! We appreciate you and while Cricut can be frustrating at times, it is still my all time favorite piece of equitment! Thank you Tanner!
I totally agree with you. I have been saying that on all cricut feeds I can find. Like layering and warping text and the sticker making. Any functions should be free. They already only have minimal free images. I mean small amount. I don't know why others are not complaining about this.
I agree with you why we have to pay for features the machines are already expensive and the accessories they should give us the features free like the new stickers features
Glad to see this. My main problem has been the lack of being able to use landscape mode on tablets. Only portrait is available as of the last update. This considerably reduces your space and vision.
All I want to say is actions speak louder than words... Do the ppl who are designing everything actually use a Cricut?? For enjoyment, not in a Cricut lab
Yes I had the issues with print and cut. I get close to the image print and cut but it seems to be off every time. It means you loose materials as you print items two times. Thank you Tanner and Cricket for listening.
I have been trying to find the 'Cricut response', but so far, no luck. Are you able to set up a link for us, so that we can see it? Thanks ever so much.
I seriously felt so seen when you said the things I’ve been very frustrated by, too. There was a day that I had to go through 4 different devices just to cut some squares and not understanding why nothing was working. I truly felt like giving up. Thank you for making that video!
Thank you so much Tanner for going to bat for us, who do love and enjoy the Cricut machines! I have been so frustrated lately and I have not used my Cricut like I would like to for the very reasons you have mentioned and others that I have experienced. One thing I would love to see upgrade the uploading process for an SVG, that process is painstakingly God awful? I have tried for hours trying to make something an SVG for a project and it’s heartbreaking when I have to give up when I have so much time into because the removing the backgrounds pieces ETC to upload is so difficult? Cricut thank you for listening with a professional manner Tanner great job!
Tanner, I'm very grateful that you brought our frustrating issues to Cricut's attention. My particular issue is print and cut and calibration. I have found that after about 6/7 cuttings, I need to recalibrate again and again. Very frustrating. However, I have been a Cricut fan since their first machine and continue to enjoy my Cricut experience. Thank you again, Tanner!!
Thank you, thank you Tanner for standing up for all Cricut users. I was one of the people thank actually purchased a new laptop because of the problems I was having. Listening tonight i realised that 9 of the 13 glitches that you listed were my experiences too. Thank you again for speaking out for us. Oksana
Thank you for calling them out. Recently I've been having trouble cutting stickers. I use cricut mats, sticker paper and design space and it still won't read any of it. I hve to resort to hand cutting which is time consuming.the whole reason I went with cricut is to help with those little tasks. Thanks for these videos esp. Cricuts response.
Thanks Tanner. Australia is always lagging anyway but it was great to know it was not what I was doing. My problem was trying to do photos for my memory planner. Also kept shutting down half way through a project. I love Cricut and agree the machine is so much better than any other but have stoped using due to software problems.
I've definitely experienced the shifting of the image on the canvas making me think I lost it. Thanks Tanner & MGL team for putting these videos out & thanks to Cricut for listening. I hope they follow through on listening to the Cricut community. I also hope other platforms follow your lead because they too have voiced Cricut issues during lives as well.
Thanks Tanner for addressing all the issues Cricut users are dealing with!! So amazing that Cricut is listening & hopefully will get things taken care of. I love MGL & being a member… the entire team goes above & beyond for all their members ❤ Thank you all at MGL😊
As someone who has worked for creative software companies for professionals for over 10 years, what you expressed was important. There are so many times consumers don't realize they have so much voice and power. I have experienced #1, 4, 5 and thought it was my OS too. I still enjoy using my Cricut and would only expect the company to make the improvements for the creative community.
So appreciate your advocacy for us makers! Issues: draw then cut totally out of alignment. Spent 2 hrs on phone with. CS and no help. Offered a ‘deal’ on a new machine & my maker 3 was only 4 years old. Machine always says to unplug to reset. Doesn’t recognize smart materials, asks for a 12” mat.
Thanks Tanner adding to your list. I have been fighting with my maker trying to get it to calibrate. It was was soooooo finicky. I finally gave up and called it a night. Very frustrating. I have an important project to finish. I hope it is better tomorrow. Thanks again.
Thanks Tanner! I always thought it was "user error!" So many issues with DS with stopping in the middle of a project, when I need to go back it takes the program forever to readjust and don't get me starting with the pattern fill when I am working on offset for stickers and other projects. I have been frustrated but still plowed through it. I do love my Cricut machines and I do have a membership. I'm glad the CEO from Cricut responded...I am impressed they reached out and hope to see some improvements with the software! Thank you

Thank you soooo much. I have a maker. The worst money spent. Hope they realize they are not living up to the Cricut standards. Thank you once again. You made a great big difference for all of us. Thanks
Thank you for your effort!
I really hope we could use design space App offline on ipad, without being connected to the internet...
Have a lot of respect for you
Ditto
Love your comment! 😊😊
The customers have also done this for years and years. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this same response from them.
Thank you for standing up and speaking out the truth Tanner. Honestly, I was getting so frustrated with design space that I barely use my Cricut anymore. I’m glad someone with a voice has spoken for us and it’s been heard!
Same here. I became completely demotivated and haven't used my Cricut in a long time unfortunately 😢
This is so sad. These machines are expensive and should be enjoyed. I wanted to buy my first one but I’ll wait.
@@nicanonymus2491same! what the point to buy it when you already see it with so many glitches while others are using it too
I was so excited to get my cricut. I struggle to learn how to use it with my IPad since I don’t currently have a computer. I’m thankful for Makers Gonna Learn and Jennifer Maker. Both channels are honest and useful. Hopefully Cricut will actually make positive moves as they have stated.
@@Flutterby-bx5qr Which one you’d have?
You should do a follow-up in a few weeks to see if your subscribers have seen any improvements. Thanks for addressing the issues. Tanner you rock!
Interestingly, Jennifer Maker also posted a similar video about Design space issues. Consider your membership and hers that’s about 1.8 million crafters. Very intelligent of Cricut to respond.
Where was this from Jennifer posted?
Where is her video? I would love to hear her take on this
Thanks for the update Tanner!
Was Jennifer's posted to UA-cam? If so, I must be overlooking it.
Well maybe I’m crazy because I can’t find it now. Yes it was on UA-cam. Honestly I only watched a few minutes and then moved on-thinking I knew the issues already.
Hats off to you Tanner for speaking out on our behalf. Thanks
One of my big pet peeves is when I spend a lot of time fitting things on the mats in the make it screen to make better use of my paper or vinyl and there is no way to save that for a later date.
I hate having to do that. It is time consuming and tedious and then if a glitch happen or you mistakenly close that screen you have to start all over.
You can try making a 12x12 guide (the pink outline instead of the basic cut) on the canvas, fitting all the things you need in that guide then select all and hit attach. Save that and when you go to hit make, it will be the same as how you attached it on your canvas. I’ve done that, hope that helps!
@@justthethreeofus5055 Makes sense but it has never crossed my mind to do that.

Also happened to me and my text box is still gray when it used to be blue

It also happens to me, lately when I change a font I have to get completely out of the fonts before my text changes to the new font.

I really appreciate Jennifer Maker and you for being a voice for us, Cricut drafters. Thanks.😊
Thank you MGL for your voice!Thank you Cricut for listening!
Me, too! I thought it was just me!
Kudos to you and your team for communicating in a way that opened the door to be heard. This is very impressive ❤.
Agree & yes, can’t thank you enough Tanner for being our voice!!
Yes! Me too! I totally thought it was my laptop!
Ah the undo drives me crazy. ❤
It seems to happen with the *older* things. Like, I'm going to a project I have already done and trying to edit a few things and make it, but it locks up, and I can edit 2 things, and that's it.
Or I click on a text, and it changes color and font, and i click undo.....nothing locks up.
Yes the inconsistent print and cut . I have been cutting images out with scissors to be honest for months because I can’t have them ruined 😢
OMG ! Me too, what a waste of time & paper
That's where Cricut really needs to listen. Other manufacturers let you save locally. It's all about subscriptions for them.
This proves to me that Cricut is very serious about its customers ! This is a very professional company obviously. Tanner your video was also done professionally and well done. It is not easy to tell things the truth and you did it with all the kindness and softness that it needed. Well done! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I would just like to say that there are a few people who seem upset by my comment!
They’re not professional at all. They’re worried as heck that they will lose millions of subscribers.

Tanner…you are very well spoken and a true leader in the community. Keep up the good work and keep being yourself.
YES to the inconsistent print and cut. Recalibrate, recalibrate, recalibrate. Many times I’ve just said screw it and shut it down. Am in the process of choosing which print company to use. HOPEFULLY I won’t have to now. Fingers crossed. Thank you!!
Same here, so frustrating
I moved to Silhouette and don't have any of those issues any longer. The Silhouette Portrait is great for doing stickers and decals! I've not lost one sheet since switching.
I have kept my Cricut machines for my personal projects, gifts, etc. Just no print and cut!!
I love the print and cut feature. It's such a time saver but honestly I thought my machine was the problem. So tired of the recalibration!
Totally frustrating and not knowing what was wrong
I am so very proud of you and your truth about it. Honestly I am shocked at how many people have been in the same situations as I have.
RIGHT?!
Thank you Tanner for starting this conversation for all the Crafters out there!!! These issues are real. Not only have we invested our money and materials, but our precious time. Lets hope that your videos truly motivate Cricut to take a serious look at improving our experience! 💕🌴😎
Well done Cricut for listening and responding so positively. Let us applaud them when they work through the bugs and fix the issues.
Yes! I have had such a hard time with print then cut. I have tried all the tips and tricks, but usually I can’t get it to work 😢
My husband is a software architect. I can 100% confirm that things do go wrong when you add or change a feature. Software integrations are very complex.
Seconded! My hubby is a software engineer and said that the cricut code is garbage.
@DiHickman software is so complicated, lol. My husband explains it to me, and I do understand, but it's still crazy 🤣
That’s why regression testing is so important.
@@redbecca1327 100% agree
Ugh!
Thank you for doing this. I haven't used Cricut in a while because I was so sick of all of the issues.
You are amazing Tanner. Thank you so much for speaking up for all of us. I’ve been waiting for someone on a large platform to speak up about these issues and it doesn’t surprise me at all that it was you who had the guts to speak up. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You are so brave, real and SO appreciated!!!!!! 🙏🏻❤️
Thank-you so much for speaking for all of us crafters. We all appreciate all you do
I had the problem with no.8 and it was not Cricut machine calibration.
Excited that they watched listened and actually responded ❤
Me too!
Good for you Tanner! Thank you Cricut for responding and hopefully will step up!!
Mine too!
Love all of this. The fact that you spoke up and that Cricut responded so positively, it’s what social media should be about
Thank you Tanner and Cricut . As a small business owner these issues have made it very trying of late.
The constant being unable to resize an image
The mat alway being 12x 24
Taking a long time to load files and it being blank
The most recent updates are beyond frustrating! They should never have made it to release as it's buggier than an alpha not even good enough to be considered beta!!
Hey Tanner I’m surprised that the scoring lines weren’t brought up. There are no score lines.
I bought the score tool and no luck, I still have to score manually.
Thank you!
First, thank you soooo much for this space! I’ve had issues and just didn’t know who to “vent” to 😂🤣 it’s great to have this community who are experience similar issues!
1. The undo button OMG 😫😫😫😫
2. When I try to move my images (or text) around, it’s like the images will disappear then reappear in the same area and not the area I moved it to.
3. I’ve experienced glitches with the mirroring feature-my mirror feature is turned on but it still cuts the image/text in an “un-mirrored” way. (If that makes sense 😂)
It just went out completely.😢😢😢
when I do a Print and cut it now has to be saved before it will load to mat to be printed and also insists on recalibrating
As a loyal Cricut user for 7+ years, I really appreciate both of these videos and Cricut’s response. ❤
Thank you!
Thanks!
Now that you have listed these glitches, I realized I have experienced several of them. I'm a hobby crafter, so I'm not in Design Space everyday but I thought the glitches were just something I was experiencing.
Tanner
Thank you for posting these two videos about design space.
Thank you Tanner!! It took someone like you to get through (breaking barriers). So excited to see upcoming improvements.
Thank you for being our voice on these issues. Your compassion is so strong and we are all blessed. Thank you!
I’ve had this issue with my fine blade. So frustrating
These are the exact issues I’m dealing with!
I have to keep repeating to myself, “patience is a virtue”
I'm having those issues as well. Also when I click on the app it comes up across all three of my screens black. I have to "quit" and reopen. Sometimes more than once before it will open and be normal size.
Thank you Tanner! You’ve said all of my frustrations in a very nice way. Don’t think I could be this nice. I appreciate all of your hard work for us.
I have been sooo frustrated with the red margins! The mat and the screen don’t match so I never know exactly where to place my paper/vinyl.
Awsome Tanner thank you for being a voice for us crafters
Yes on the inconsistent print then cut and after it is done cutting it just freezes and you can't recut if you need to. I need to cancel the cut to even get it out of the machine.
Other issues I have experienced is saving a project, then not being able to open it on later date. I had to redo 2 projects for MakerU because of that. Thank you so much for always being our advocate. We appreciate you!!!!
Also, I have seen Ashish in the Cricut FB group. Always a pleasant poster. Looking forward to seeing what Cricut does going forward. 😊
Thank you, Tanner! It is so frustrating working with Design Space. I sincerely appreciated the first video.
Thank you friend
I have had the undo button issue, the mat issue, the disappearing image issue, offset won’t load until I click away from it,some of my images turn black after saving and I have lost images. This doesn’t happen to all projects, but it has become more consistent
I can hear the emotions in your voice, you did well.
Get a scan and cut. Works great. I still use a Cricut as well.
“CRICUT” cricket is completly different brand not related with craft
I have been part of the 3D printer community for a few years. I just got a maker refurbished unit 2 months ago. I was disappointed that i needed to pay a subscription fee to make stuff with ease. I got over it....I now love it and it has enhanced my 3D sales.

Making exclusive features to access members is wrong
I totally agree with you. I have been saying that on all cricut feeds I can find. Like layering and warping text and the sticker making. Any functions should be free. They already only have minimal free images. I mean small amount. I don't know why others are not complaining about this.
It’s only logical! Otherwise no one would pay…
@@moussapolytropos features no !!!discounts and access to all designs yes!!
It used to be that way. Cricut got greedy
I agree with you why we have to pay for features the machines are already expensive and the accessories they should give us the features free like the new stickers features
Glad to see this. My main problem has been the lack of being able to use landscape mode on tablets. Only portrait is available as of the last update. This considerably reduces your space and vision.
Landscape now works! It was added a few updates ago.

Thank you Tanner. I definitely had the back button issue but not consistently. Glad to know it's not just me and my lack of technology saavy.
Thank you
