@Scott McNeill From the cricut app I think. In the part of the video where she shows the app, you can see the fox design there, just in a different colour.
Yvonne definitely kills it when she's in her element. You can see how seamlessly she flows through talking about things she's interested in and knowledgeable of, and it's honestly very entertaining and informative. We're also getting a woman's perspective on tech products, especially a young mother who likes to make crafts for her family. This hits a lot of different angles that we normally don't get on LTT and it's really fun, plus the cameos!
Yes more Yvonne! I usually just listen while my husband watches, but I actually enjoyed this content! It wasn’t a flawless demonstration and that made it perfect because the tools might not work, or you’re likely to try to skip a step you really should be doing and that makes it relatable. Yvonne has a different energy and it’s nice.
Having someone present something they personally care about seems to be a recipe for success! I was taken aback when Yvonne said this was her first Short Circuit video, because it sure didn't feel like a first attempt. 😄
Too busy running the company, I guess. Linus has mentioned on WAN Show how little he does (and how much she does) in that area. xD Ah well. SC said she's in more upcoming content. 👍
Just a headsup on those Cricut machines, my mom has one. It happens pretty often where the software messes up. Usually a reboot fixes that, but it also happens where... renewing the cricut subscription (If you use that) is impossible through the website. For my mom's ease of mind, I subscribed her through Cricut's iOS app (Which means billing goes through Apple), and no issues since.
It used to be the opposite in the old days, having something on paper, so breaking eye contact mean that you were reading a script. (Before teleprompter , but even in the early days)
I'm 30 seconds in, and Yvonne's presentation style is through the roof! LTT has come so far, and all their staff have progressed so well in their professionalism and fun work. Keep up the good work!
I don't typically watch the LTT family of channels, but I really enjoyed this video. I hope Yvonne or someone else on the team decides to do more of these as I think having more user friendly, and (sort of) budget friendly alternatives is great. A suggestion for the next video might be to compare the Cricut Maker to their competitor the Silhouette. Both have some serious pro's and con's.
Definitely want to see more things of Yvonne's. This was really cool, I'm going to show it to my mom because she has an Explore Air 2, and it's been a PITA getting her old cartridges imported.
Great job Yvonne! My wife was wanting one of these and this video totally sealed the deal! I honestly didn't think I would be seeing anything about the CirCut Maker 3 on Short Circuit. Definitely should have more Yvonne videos!
Yvonne over here killing it like she’s been doing it for years. Awesome job! Need to make sure my wife doesn’t see this video, no more space for crafting.
I kept thinking, "Wow, Yvonne has become so comfortable on camera." She is a very good host and presenter. I can picture a new channel for craft and craft tech items with hosts Yvonne and Sarah. In the meantime, maybe they could show them on Channel Super Fun.
Just a heads up, Cricut is extremely anti-consumer and anti-right-to-repair. They run frivolous lawsuits against those trying to help other consumers, and against anyone that tries to run Cricut outside of their suboptimal online software.
This also feels…really sponsored. I’m enjoying the look and review, but the talking points are very heavy throughout. Edit: Obviously I don't mean to imply that LTT is illegally non-disclosing a sponsor. I just mean that it felt really produced for much of it, even if, yes, there is a script.
@@AlisterCountel I think they're better than that. It can be hard to be super critical unless you have some baseline to compare against, I'd just go with this is the first product like it they've done and are talking about why Yvonne likes it.

@@Jehty_ I would be cautious about the Cricut, they were making headlines for changing their pricing structure. My s.o. got this a while ago, they tend to go on sale every so often throughout the year, usually around black Friday you can get the bundle at a good price. I haven't played with it but it does seem like a fun craft making machine.
from yvonne saying that it was "commercial grade", i honestly expected it to cost like 1k-4k or smth like that and then i got to the part about the price, and was shocked also i can totally feel how alex feels like that machine isn't really well built, since that machine seems to be more for like, hobbist to light commercial use, while alex works on commercial/industrial machinery which costs literally like, 2x-20x as much or so
Commercial grade would be quite a bit larger. I would say it is closer to pro-sumer than pro, but slightly better than consumer. The proprietary software is sadly true and a downside. But I think their competitors also use proprietary software. We need linus and Yvonne to put pressure on them to open things up. Hopefully eventually there'll be a open source option, but it requires developers to have that as a itch to scratch and I suspect that it is too niche for that atm.
@@bionicgeekgrrl there are plotters which you can use with pretty much any software mainly old serial/parallel port ones that use the hpgl language. as for commercial grade this certainly is not. too much plastic too flimsy not durable. we had an old real commercial grade plotter (i think it was a hp machine but not shure) that we got to work with modern software. it was much better built and looked like it could survive a literal war.

I'm so glad Yvonne is hosting videos and showing stuff that she's passionate about, great flow and a nice calm conversationalist. I kept doing double takes over her pronunciations for certain words though... between origami and decals I had to clutch my pearls
This is one of the most relaxing to watch LMG videos of all time and I love it! It's great to escape the normal bubble and see people explain stuff that they are passionate about even if it has little to do with consumer electronics (like phones, PC hardware, etc.). Also great to so Yvonne being on camera more and more!
my mother has been using cricut since they came out, and I can confirm that they will go away or change formats and leave you high and dry. the original machines had cartridges and you could download a couple different software programs to help laying out how to cut stuff and designing. when the made the new programs and next generation machines it all went away.
We had one of those gypsy machines that they sold, and it was a godsend, until it just stopped working. They offered to fix it, then they completely disavowed it's existence and anyone who had one had to fend for themselves if/when it stopped working.
Although I'm not sure I would ever need or buy this sort of hardware, I certainly respect and appreciate what the CriCut hardware can do. Kudos to Yvonne for the quality hosting and demonstrating she did!

“You want to buy gadgets honey? It has to pay itself back with a video!”
Joking of course, really cool video Yvonne, nice to see you on screen. I’ve made quite a few custom stickers with my Silhouette Cameo, which looks extremely extremely similar!
For a next video, can we see one of YOUR projects in the new house? We’ve seen plenty of Linus’ and his husband 😉
Then again listening to Linus every time he wants a new gadget he makes a video. Seems like a personal/business policy. If you wanna spend money on a thing, better make a video about it!
@@barnett25 wth does that have to do with what @Ryan Feller said.
EDIT: I’m sorry I read it wrong, I thought ryan feller was the op. Stupid me I’m sorry
"Linus’ and his husband" XD I'm ded
@@alexfinns6162 you ever think maybe he was responding to the OP?
@@alexfinns6162 I think it was more an answer to willemmkuipers comment and not Ryan's one ;)
I liked seeing the small mistakes made out of eagerness. It's a great representation of the real experience of craft projects.
I could foresee Yvonne having her own channel all dedicated to designing and creating things like so many of the other creator content channels that utilize the cricket.
omg a channel of just Yvonne and Sarah doing creative shit yessssss
@@Kreeschon oh heck yeah. After all Sarah did purchase that one product of all those color codes and that was what $10,000 it could be put to good use on a channel that she and Yvonne could do together quite honestly the new channel could be all about the creative works or the creative warehouse division of LMG
Yvonne craft tips
@Scott McNeill From the cricut app I think. In the part of the video where she shows the app, you can see the fox design there, just in a different colour.
@@Kreeschon The Butt and Ho channel? xD
SOOOO HAPPY TO SEE YVONNE!!!! Also, it’s nice to have more “not typical” tech! I LOVED EVER MINUTE!!!!!
new channel incoming!!! NTT non typical tech :d
Always love when Yvonne is hosting, she has such a good and happy energy to her, and this product was damn interesting.
Having someone present something they personally care about seems to be a recipe for success! I was taken aback when Yvonne said this was her first Short Circuit video, because it sure didn't feel like a first attempt. 😄
Same goes for Anthony when he presents retro gaming stuff or linux content, his passion seeps through!
Yvonne did a great job!
Shes incredibly natrual when speaking on camera, its such a shame she doesnt do more vids 😭
Too busy running the company, I guess. Linus has mentioned on WAN Show how little he does (and how much she does) in that area. xD
Ah well. SC said she's in more upcoming content. 👍
Not really. She rambles on too much and talks too fast. She's pretty decent, but far from a natural.
This is such a refreshing presentation.
Clear breakdown, clean explanation, and solid execution.
I definitely would like to see more Yvonne
Just a headsup on those Cricut machines, my mom has one. It happens pretty often where the software messes up. Usually a reboot fixes that, but it also happens where... renewing the cricut subscription (If you use that) is impossible through the website. For my mom's ease of mind, I subscribed her through Cricut's iOS app (Which means billing goes through Apple), and no issues since.
Thank you for the tëch tįpß bröther
I love being able to use my Apple account for billing. Make everything so easy. Except for UA-cam because they charge more.
I love how often Ivone breaks eye contact with the camera and the teleprompter and makes the script feel so intuitive and natural. Amazing work!
Seeing Yvonne on shortcircuit is nice,
i hope to see more unboxing/reviews on her behalf :)
Yvonne is SUCH a good host. Looking forward to see more of her!
she's a pharmacist so I think she's natural at it
I don't typically watch the LTT family of channels, but I really enjoyed this video. I hope Yvonne or someone else on the team decides to do more of these as I think having more user friendly, and (sort of) budget friendly alternatives is great. A suggestion for the next video might be to compare the Cricut Maker to their competitor the Silhouette. Both have some serious pro's and con's.
Shout out to the short circuit viewers for being so overwhelmingly positive towards every new presenter, it’s always so nice to see
It’s just such a wholesome comment section most of the time it’s great
You surely mean the short CriCut Viewers .... Okay I will show myself out.
Definitely want to see more things of Yvonne's. This was really cool, I'm going to show it to my mom because she has an Explore Air 2, and it's been a PITA getting her old cartridges imported.
Yvonne was a really fun host and did a great job. I'd love to see more about her kinds of hobbies etc.
Make room for it, crafts are good for the soul.
Yvonne's clear, concise and fast paced style is a joy to watch
Her passion is infectious, I am not a hobby person but I want a maker 3 now
I kept thinking, "Wow, Yvonne has become so comfortable on camera." She is a very good host and presenter. I can picture a new channel for craft and craft tech items with hosts Yvonne and Sarah. In the meantime, maybe they could show them on Channel Super Fun.
Yvonne is a natural. And her passion about the “crycut” really showed.
I FINALLY know how to pronounce that damn word now!
Yvonne did such a good job! I loved the interactions with everyone else on the set, the topic was cool and fun and I can't wait for more :)
Just a heads up, Cricut is extremely anti-consumer and anti-right-to-repair. They run frivolous lawsuits against those trying to help other consumers, and against anyone that tries to run Cricut outside of their suboptimal online software.
Yeah, as soon as Alex was like 'No' I was looking to see if there's anything vaguely similar that's sort of open.
My wife got a Brother Die Cut Printer for Christmas last year. About the same price, more versatile and seemed like a much more open ecosystem.
It can be hard to be super critical unless you have some baseline to compare against, I'd just go with this is the first product like it they've done and are talking about why Yvonne likes it.
there was literal software drm, no thanks. its not like my HP deskjet printer would only print from HP software, why would i want a piece of hardware locked into its own software.
Yvonne seems so natural in front of the camera finally, more content from her please!
I want a super creative Yvonne and Sarah video :D
Yvonne is such a mood. we need more videos hosted by her
I LOVE when LTT is doing creative-oriented content. That's so cool!
She absolutely nailed it, really enjoyed her presentation and energy
My mum has one (original Maker), it's a good machine, but she gets frustrated with it a lot lol
It's a pretty intelligent machine imo, but honestly they're anti-consumer
What exactly frustrates her?
Because this machine looks cool but I am kinda suspicious. It looks to good to be true
@@Jehty_ mainly just removing stuff from the mat, and things not always turning out as expected.
It is a good machine though
Yeah try a Silhouette Cameo.
@@Jehty_ I would be cautious about the Cricut, they were making headlines for changing their pricing structure. They were going to charge people to upload their own creations (exactly what Yvonne did in this video with the LTT logos), all the Cricut machine owners were furious and Cricut backtracked, but I would be weary they will try again in the future.
@@trippin7464 maybe there is an open source reverse engineered firmware if someone has the time. then you could use it just like a normal plotter for example through inkscape
been wanting you to come back for a long while since you did that first tech linked... you are a breath of fresh air, and your enthusiasm is always great.
And it's awesome seeing you together with linus, as you two really ping off each other in a way none of the others do. So fun.
My s.o. got this a while ago, they tend to go on sale every so often throughout the year, usually around black Friday you can get the bundle at a good price. I haven't played with it but it does seem like a fun craft making machine.
I love how excited she gets to show off her new toy. She's adorable Linus is a lucky man
Just going to add my “this was great” comment. Well done Yvonne and hope to see more. Linus, she’s a winner mate.
This video made me happy! The enthusiasm that Yvonne has for her hobby is wonderful, keep doing what you love!
Yvonne on thumbnail = instant click :)
do a collabbbbbb
Everytime.
Fancy seeing you here lol
simp harder.
from yvonne saying that it was "commercial grade", i honestly expected it to cost like 1k-4k or smth like that
and then i got to the part about the price, and was shocked
also i can totally feel how alex feels like that machine isn't really well built, since that machine seems to be more for like, hobbist to light commercial use, while alex works on commercial/industrial machinery which costs literally like, 2x-20x as much or so
It only works with their proprietary software, which is super limited without an active subscription.
@@JonasWilms ah that would explain the surprisingly low price
@@awesomestuff9715 not really. Open source software is free and flexible. Makes less sense.
I love this content, Yvonne has always been fun in videos and seeing her more in her element than she's often presented was really enjoyable!
Yvonne is a natural & this was a really fun & informative little video. I haven't really paid much attention to the CriCut space since the first one came out. Nice to see they're finally affordable to to the point where the price almost outweighs being locked into their ecosystem.
it only took like 10 years but we are finally getting the full Linus content weve always wanted but never knew until now.
MORE YVONNE!
1) really loved that this was basically an echo of my wifes pro's and con's of a normal cricut user. felt honest and genuine. Particularly the fear that what happens to your cricut if the company went away?
2) We demand more Yvonne content ! Great job!
I love the Yvonne content, I love all the different sides that you get to see from LTT and all the staff that appear on camera. Yvonne is so great and I really like that we get to see her more on camera now
My mother just bought me this model as an early Chanukah present. And my new Samsung tablet arrives tomorrow so I’ll be set up by the weekend! Great video as I have limited knowledge of this.
If Yvonne would have her own "crafts and project" channel, many would instantly subscribe. The cool thing is that it wouldn't just have be crafts but anything she wants or is currently working on.
This was excellent, would love to see Yvonne again. This was something she was actually interested in and that always turns out great for watchers.
Great to see Yvonne,
Would love to see her host more short circuits
Yvonne is so authentic, love it. I'm totally not into arts and crafts and watched this to the end, feeling engage and wanting to do Paper folding projects.
Yvonne should host more of these ShortCircuits in the future! I love how calm and collected she was, not to mention the way she was giddy about the things she was doing that I believe we should have more of her!
"Dropping things ... It runs in the family". Dropped a good comment.
"it runs in the family" has concerning implications
@@Minty1337 yep, not something I would publicly share 😜
Glad to see everyone else is also loving the Yvonne content, she's finally getting the recognition she deserves 😂 And she's great at hosting!
Yvonne is so natural on camera and gave an excellent presentation on the Cricut machine. More Yvonne videos, please! I understand she's very busy being the designated grown-up at LMG and her duties as the balance-maintaining anti-Linus are probably quite exhausting, but if she can squeeze in an appearance like this now and then it'd be awesome :)
They also sued the makers of those other programs to remove their ability to directly control the machine.
We had one of those gypsy machines that they sold, and it was a godsend, until it just stopped working. They offered to fix it, then they completely disavowed it's existence and anyone who had one had to fend for themselves if/when it stopped working.
Watching Yvonne is actually so relaxing and you enjoy the video so much. More of her please.
"Dropping things it runs in the family" got me hitting like in less then 10 secs.
Made me laugh hard.
Although I'm not sure I would ever need or buy this sort of hardware, I certainly respect and appreciate what the CriCut hardware can do. Kudos to Yvonne for the quality hosting and demonstrating she did!
I feel like just being aware of this stuff can be helpful.
This was so fun ! I love how calm Yvonne is and still showing her excitement.
Loved this video! I remember seeing my Mom work on her Cricut machine when I was a kid, it’s so cool to see how far Cricut has come and what it’s capable of now!
Also absolutely loved seeing Yvonne host, excited to see her in more videos!
Gota say it, i'm happy to see Yvonne that confortable on camera !
ayo
I've grown to love ShortCircuit more and more over time. It's nice to be able to see an overview on something rather than a full on critique. Those first impressions are important! Great job, team! This series is awesome!
Also, I second more Yvonne content! She is great!
I've wanted one of these for the longest time - Yvonne love your presenting style! Fun, easy to follow and entertaining :)
I worked for an R&D CO2 Laser company. We ironed out this tech back in the mid 90's. Its amazing it took this long for component parts to come down in price. A prototype 3d laser printer started at 150k for OEM industry. Now we have tools like this in our homes, printing everything under the sun. I wish I was a young engineering student today. So much fun tech to turn ideas into reality as fast as your ideas flow. Its almost like magic.
I really enjoy the videos where genuine excitement/joy about the topic comes through. So more stuff like this, where you cover the things that give you that spark.
I've never seen Yvonne host a video, but I love it
@@Slowdr She was pretty bad in that techlinked vid, but she was excellent in this one....hope she does more.
@@Slowdr I think she might’ve hosted a few netlinkeds when that was a thing. Nope misremembering.
I've been eyeing one of these for years, and I think you've finally convinced me to pull the trigger. And YES - we definitely want more Yvonne content! This was the perfect intersection between nerdy and crafty, so I'd love to see more things like this. Tons of products to explore in that category!
But look at other brands that are less hostile to the customer, like Silhouette maybe.
thinking about all the people buying one of these cuz of this episode is so sad
Get a Silhouette Cameo 4. At least it's kinda open source versus this.
I love Yvonne being a presenter or just in videos, she's really relaxing and charismatic.
