Health Coach Kait, yes. Keto combined with OMAD. Within six months down thirty pounds, no more food comas, adrenal fatigue gone, and no more symptoms from arthritis.
What about if you have no gallbladder and you have digestion issues. Foods not digesting quickly so blood sugar takes awhile to go down. I don't feel hungry, have none of the signs of insulin resistance. Like thirsts, craving sugary foods as a matter of fact I don't like sweets like chocolates etc. I drink my teas or coffee without cream or sugars. I pee normal like 3 or 4 times a day. No skin tags or darkening skin, but my blood sugar is 6.7. My doctor said I am diabetic. What do you think?
@sploofmonkeythankyou for replying. No I don't eat fruits only occasionally strawberries or blueberries, and no refine flour, only gluten free. I drink warm water with lemons and apple cider vinegar first thing every morning!
@Tony L Thankyou for your reply. No I eat Gluten free very minute occassionally! My diet is one sometimes two meals a day! I eat my first meal around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. The rest of the day black tea, coffee and water. My stomach is not digesting food properly, so I am afraid to eat because of acid reflux. I just saw on Dr Eric Berg's channel a video about this. He is talking about low bile acid in the stomach that people with no gallbladder suffers from. He says to use nile salts. I will give this a try.
My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.
I’ve been doing Keto and IF for over 3 years now and I dropped 80lbs, reversed my fatty liver that I had for over 10 years and was told there was nothing I could do about it, all my health problems went away even my arthritis is 80% better, I just recently had my blood pressure checked and it’s down to 127 over 81, I can’t ever remember having a normal blood pressure and I’m now 60.
Impressive! Congrats, although I find it hard to believe anyone with any credibility whatsoever would tell you there is "nothing you can do" about fatty liver.
9:37 i was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and my Dr. was ready to put me on medicine. I told her I wanted to try changing my diet first. At first I panicked! Then I watched YT videos on the topic. I was able to get back on track in 3 months. Maybe even sooner. I lost 18 lbs. This was by adding more veggies to my diet, intermittent fasting, cutting out high carb foods and sugar, and doing some low to medium intensity exercise.
Good for you. I did similar. I used to put about 1/4 cup of honey to sweeten my daily tea, now I've learned to like it unsweet. I also mix my yogurt "half-sweet" with plain yogurt. I must admit, once in a while I really get a hankering for pizza and ice cream, but is passes. Oddly, I don't seem to miss pasta. I'm also down two pants waist inches. Now all I have to work on is becoming taller. :)
I spent 3 yrs going to doctors to find out what was wrong with me, they had me on 10 different medications saying I was depressed and had anxiety, one video from you and within a month I have no more shaking, starving, sugar drops, peeing every 5 min. I feel my energy coming back. I refuse to ever go to a doctor again and absolutely refuse pharmaceutical medications. I'm 100% all natural now including making natural hygiene and cleaning products. 65 and walking 2 miles a day thanks to you.
I'm moving back and forth between insulin sensitivity and resistence depending on stress levels. Doctors di not acknowlege this, so I'm trying my own approach. Right now I'm resistent and working to reverse it again. This has been going in for about 6 years. Lockdown, resulting money issues and an unsettling relationship did not help, but I'm on it.
I might encourage you to enjoy daily morning/evening brisk walks that you use to listen to the song birds, and to include 5-10 minutes of moderate strength training. Could be body weight exercises + some old gallon jugs with tap water you fill/empty depending on your challenge level. Work different muscle groups. Enjoy the anti inflammatory "Myokines" muscles produce that also help the brain
Eat the food u used to eat before ur current relationship. We women always summon to diet of our guys. And do it for u. Not for anyone else. Feel happy about little improvement. God speed sister!
A simple test for IR is your fasting a.m. glucose should be less than 99 and A1c below 5.6. This big dose of glucose intake is inflammatory, onerous and not accurate. Treatment: 1. remove all grains, sugars and fruits (are really candies growing on trees and plants) from your diet 2. IF like 16/8, 3. Substitute good fats (salmon, avocados, nuts, olive and coconut oil, etc) and low carb veggies (avoid potatoes, cooked carrots and roots) .3. exercise (even walking 30 minutes daily), preferably after eating.
Things dieticians, nutritionists and doctors never tell you about. Clearly I have IR resistance and have struggled to lose weight. Each time I to hospital I I'm told you are eating wrong foods like eggs etc, then others tell you to eat certain things that are totally low carb and moderate protein but keep this important factor of IR out,so you donot understand and unlock the secret why when you donot lose weight. Then you go back for consultation and pay more money for tests for hormones. I wish I knew this, but I realized this year that bread, butter and rice are my worst enemy and soda. Thank you coach, I will apply all your advice and eat the right foods, IF and I believe I will unlock the secrets to lose all this weight. Thank you.
I had really bad insulin resistance and it was affecting my daily life. I changed my eating habits and diet and became more active and also have been intermittent fasting and I have seen a huge improvement in only 2 months! The best part is that I still eat all the foods I love, but properly portioned. I’ll take that over a crash diet any day
Due to your help I think I have receded insulin resistant. I started working on it after watching some video you had on the topic. Diabetes runs prevalently on both sides of my family and most members have had to have limbs amputated, dialysis, or organ transplants because of it. I refuse to be next. When my cousin stated she was in the transplant list at age 36, I knew I needed to do something. Being overweight I looked to solve that at came across your videos. My waist to height was much higher but now0.51 from starting in February. My goal is to be within my BMI by my 40th birthday in February 2022.
Oh my gosh, your video website it's helpful for my AC1 results of 13.8 after 2 months my result AC1 level 7.8. Thanks for sharing your help thank you again 😍😍😍💡💡💡🙏💕💕💕
IR is nearly gone per the numbers --- since March have taken off 40 lbs (which, at 65, is not as easy as it used to be) ... learning about all of this has been a true eye-opener and one worth never losing...
Wow thanks for this. Just getting into fasting, I asked my doctor for Metformin since diabetes runs in my family and I’m obese. She said since my test results are good she wouldn’t give it to me. I just did the waist to height and triglycerides to hdl and I come out as being very insulin resistant. We really have to help ourselves.
Our medical system truly is broken. I learned more about insulin resistance with your 10 minute video than I did with doctors in the past 10 years. Doctors see my A1c is normal and send me on my "merry" way. My TG/HDL is not normal. No doctor has tested my blood cholesterol for this. No doctor has even suggested an OGTT of HOMA-IR. This, even though the doctors know family history has diabetes. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, excellent content and well explained!
You do amazing work, thank you for all the useful information. In 12 months I reduced my HOMA IR from 2.2 to 0.94. I was also having low testosterone so a lot of things compunded but IF and high fat is a life saver. I can go back to my old self because of it and because of all the good work you and other well informed health and nutrition providers have put out there.
I am very thin, but I’ve been battling severe acne for 10+ years. My first culprit was dairy. Cleared up significantly, but it kept popping up, so I had hormones, pituitary, etc tested, and it was WNL. That said, my dad is type II diabetic, and I’ve always had hypoglycemia issues as a kid. It makes sense, and I notice that I break out after more carbs or sugars. Def getting these specific tests because beyond the acne, I crash like crazy and have all the symptoms. Thanks for this!
I think you’d find the video from Myzerocarblife about What IR really is and how to fix it. They talk about how a skinny person can have IR while an “obese” person doesn’t. It’s was quite interesting as it relates to the health of a person inside. Being fat inside while skinny outside.
info, my normal glucose in morning 140. after lunch 160. My fasting test, no calories, just caffeine tea. it took 3 days to lower glucose to 104. It took 4 days to lower to 86. It was 5 days to lower to 80. normal size male,5'10", 200lb, above active lifestyle,
I am very sceptical of the OGTT. I have read that someone who has been on LCHF/keto for awhile might fail the test if they don’t eat carbs for a few days prior to taking the test. A sudden deluge of sugar into a body not used to burning glucose might not be able to produce enough insulin to deal with 75 grams of glucose all at once.
Dr. Bikman has the best videos on Insulin resistance, and Dr. Berg does a great job of explaining IR in layman's terms as well ;) I assume, like Kimberly Cooper, that I am insulin resistant and eat Keto. I've lost from 136 down to 117 with no meds, and just walk for low-intensity exercise. I'm 68.
Have to do a BG reading and A1C test. I thought I was diabetic for sure, come to find out I'm pre-diabetic and at the low end of that also, so a lot I can do to reverse it. Preventative eating a good practice. I think everyone should adopt that attitude and we will all be better off.
Thank you so much for uploading such extremely important life saving information video!!! I'm 35 years old male expat living in chennai southern India n I watch Doctor berg's as well as Doctor Jason fung's videos both are experts on insulin resistance,Intermittent fasting their videos are extremely simple explained so life saving I've lost 15 kgs after watching their videos and following their advice but before watching their videos I knew nothing about insulin resistance or intermittent fasting because of which I was eating frequently high sugar refined carbs along with carbonated drinks like coke all of which made me gain weight rapidly I ended up being 100 kg at 5'8
Thank you. I knew I was insulin resistant but couldn't find a way to check it for sure. Happened to have recent blood work and sure enough TG to HDL was over 3.0 also the waist to height was over. I feel really let down by medical doctors. I have been indicating I might be diabetic based on symptoms for a number of years but always they do the a1c test and I pass. If I could have gotten this information sooner I would have been much more serious with carbs and sugar. Good news is I followed my intuition and did a lot of positives to mitigate increased damage but no where close enoght to reverse the resistance and that sucks because I have been willing. Gratefully I am on the road now with fasting and renewed commitment to what I eat. With this information it will be paramount that I let go of the sugars, starches and carbs. Thank you
Really impressed with your content and presentation. Especially like that you provide insights that are actionable and can be used to facilitate a fact-based convo with one’s doctor. Well done!
Before I started the Ketogenic diet and one meal a day intermittent fasting on 6/2022, my TG/HDL ratio was over 6 or severe insulin resistance. Nearly two years of Ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting, near 0 carbs and losing 90 pounds, my TG/HDL ratio dropped to 1.4, and reversed all my insulin resistance related conditions, like HTN, stage 3 kidney disease and abdominal fat...so if you have insulin resistance, see your doctor and give Ketogenic diet along with intermittent fasting a try...😊
I need to be more strict but helped lower my a1c lockdown by eating a lot of eggs, bacon, cheese, butter and the wonders of frozen vegetables that I had never bought before. I think staying away from coffee helped too
omg my waist to height ratio is .74! and I have been in bed for a week with my diverticulitis again. i seem to have had this for over 20 years and have only just found out what that extreme pain is. so i am your channel to get some good ideas!
My doctor told me that the home IR test was too expensive so I had him do the fasting glucose and the fasting insulin test and I found a home IR conversion link on a website and you can put it in and you can track your blood work every 6 months to a year as you're changing your diet
I started doing fasting for two days (and I'm on third day), slight keto during lunch and dinner, and so far my far eyesight improves like I can see a little bit of the letters from afar from being too blurry, and I don't feel skin itch that much compared to before, and my belly is going a little bit slim. I intend to continue doing this although it makes me suffer... 😭
I have optimal triglicerydes/hdl ratio, not much amdominal fat, but recently tested for upper limit of blood glucose and I even have insomnia each time I eat carbohydrates before sleep. I'm not sure if my problem is particularly insulin resistance, but for sure one can be prediabetic while being within ok range of all 3 tests.
With my mum, it was like flicking a switch. I just fed her what I eat. She lost weight so fast I thought I had done something wrong. I did not calorie restrict, It was a bit confusing. But I stopped her insulin and metformin much to her doctor's disgust (I knew he would not cooperate) Her Hba1c is in the normal range now. I would say about 6 months to get her stable. But I was very worried about her weight loss. She is much more active with less dementia, but can't shake some of the more nasty side effects of Type 2 diabetes PVD, PN Macula degeneration. I am the opposite of an enabler i.e. feeder. I felt I was being quite cruel at times. Eating an appropriate diet was actually quite harsh for her. (normal for me) She could not summon a bag of crisps or chocolate at will anymore, or eat every 3 hours with masses of chips and carbs. Now she eats what I call clean, no sugar, no excessive carbs and only one big meal per day after a small breakfast. She can have fruit and nuts as a snack. Saturday and Sunday are treat days. Crisps, chocolate, and ice cream are in. (I'm not that cruel) But her appetite is a dragon outside the door staining to get in
@@proveit3836 bananas, oranges, grapes mostly. To be fair, I think the weight loss due to stopping insulin. Natural fruit is ok as a sugar source in moderation.
I started off doing a one day fast. Was not hungry so am now on day 4 still not hungry. Seems I am insulin resistant so I looked up that and found your video. My stomach is starting to growl at last so hopefully I will get hungry soon (hoping that is a good sign) Now going to look at your other video. My waist measurement is 0.68 and I have high blood pressure. I asked my GP for a diabetic's test a year ago. He refused which seems silly considering my weight and stomach. National Health Service in the UK, we get refused a lot of things.
I did intermittent fasting twice. Both times for 1 month because I started to have heartburn. The first month I thought it was just a coincidence and I tried it again after 4-5 months, but after 1 month again I had the same problem 🙁
It was nice to watch your video. You cited three home tests. My waist /height is 0.42 and Triglycerides-HDL is 0.52, both indicating good insulin sensitive. However, glucose at 2 hr after lunch is 10 compared with 5.2 before. So am I insulin resistant? FYI, I have been diabetic for 15 years and are taking 2000mg of meta form in each day. Look forward to your reply and thanks so much
Am I the only one on a Low Carb/ No Sugar diet that is cringing 😬 at the thought of consuming 75gr of sugar? I literally think I would have a serious reaction, but I have no idea what that would look like. I have stopped all sugar cold-turkey since 4 yrs now. I‘m not worried that it would cause me to give up my healthy food lifestyle, I‘m more worried that I would pass out or something. So my question: Wouldn‘t it be better to just get the H-A1C test?

@@ashsharma3169 Agreed. I have been doing this regimen for 9 months (18/6 IF). A1c December 2019 was 9.5 to September 2020 was 6.3, ceased diabetes meds after 3 months (March 2020). Weight loss 40 lbs. TRIG/HDL 1.3. But waist/height still too high and glucose not yet recovering within 2 hours from a normal low carb meal. Just discovered benefits of red wine/alcohol - morning fasting glucose dropped from about 110 to about 95.
You can be insuline resistant and thin ( my case) and no visceral fat also. It might have to do in my case with high levels of cortisol because my stressful life .
I cut out complex carbs and sugar. Fasting and only eating one meal a day plus only drinking water. So far 5 lbs down and my numbers have dropped from 300 to 111 in 4 days. My blood sugar was at 300 and it's never been that high before. Scared the crap out of me! And I'm tired of bad skin and skin tags. It's embarrassing.
I inquired about HOMA-IR a while ago with my Dr. He explained that it is only really worthwhile for people who are just starting to be insulin resistant, or pre-diabetes or syndrome x. I know I am i.r. for sure but still wish I could know my insulin level.

Does that mean you only eat during a 4-hour window during the day? I'm trying to convince myself to not eat outside of a 6-hour window. But it's tough to break a lifetime of habit.
I’ve been doing IF. Most of the time 18/6. My body totally loves it Digestive issues gone, sleep like a baby. Stress gone and slowly loosing weight. IF is a game changer

Due to sudden stressful period I developed reactive hypoglycaemia and by following ur advice I reversed it. It has been 1nd half months no symptoms of hypoglycemia before I used to feel sleepy after meals especially afternoon But now no symptoms and sugar level is also normal. Thank you so much for your videos and yes I’m insulin resistant and I’m going to follow ur advice for this as well and I’m sure I’ll reverse it.
I did EXCELLENT on the WAIST/HEIGHT and the TRIGLYCERIDE/HDL as well... but my morning fast glucose readings are in between 90-100 :\ don’t really want to do the last test because I don’t want to put any unnecessary sugar in my body. 2 outta 3. Ain’t bad.
My Dr. refused to give me insulin test. He said it was no good and gave me A1c instead. I had to pay for the insulin test myself. Good news is my HOMA-IR is 0.87.
thank goodness im only a little insulin resistant that gives me an immense amount of hope thank you so much for this video. about how long does it take to reverse insulin resistance? Im struggling with what to eat because I love carbs and food and I cant afford to totally relpace what's in my pantry. cinnamon has been helping me a lot but i really want to reverse it Ive watched your other videos and I just want to say thank you soo much for making it less daunting
The ratio beweeen TG and HDL works out to be the same, whether you use mmol/L or Mg/dL so if you have it in one format you don’t have to convert it, as long as both readings have the same units 👍🏻
I checked my waist to height ratio and it was 0.7....GIRL WHY'D YOU GO AND SCARE ME 😂😭 I've been trying IF and slowly easing myself into keto over the past 2 weeks...wish me luck! I can cut out anything but sweets are hard for me
I'm super skinny and I probably got insulin resistance in the pandemic, my BP went chronically up and now I need to fix it before doctors keep me on pills. My last hope is getting into fasting, I'm already cutting off most of the carbs.
Well.its complicated, I'm getting tested and I got high cortisol, which could be the cause of the high bp, they didn't test my a1c so I though it could be insulin resistance still. Anyways diet has improved things like acne and that. I just hope I don't have cushing's and this is just anxiety.
Week ago i didnt know such thing as insulin resistance existed. It explains why my usual diet that worked many times before now doesnt bring such effect as before. I am going to assume i developed some insulin resistance. I used to have fair results after 2 - 3 weeks of exercising and dieting and now i feel like the results are 1/4th of what it used to be. But, i am going to 'excuse' myself saying i had some tough time ( as many of us did ) for the last 2 years. Broke up with my partner and the business i am developing is now wayy behind the most pesimistic launch schedule so i must also assume my cortisol doesnt help the situation. Another good news i just ordered watches to count my steps to be less sedentiary.
What I'm writing is going to sound like a country song. Nevertheless: as a 62 year old woman... I went from an A1c of 8.2 to 6.5 in two months on keto. I'm off all diabetes meds. I'm also off all my other meds as well. No more inflammation. No fear of needing a knee or hip replacement. My under eyes bags have decreased. I hardly pass gas any more. Thanks to you, I'm now mouth taping at night and can because my nose is so clear all the time. I used to suffer very bad with seasonal allergies. I was lactose intolerant. Not any more, to my way of thinking; no more cramping, runs, or bloating. And 40lb. weight loss. (That actually took the longest amount of time!) I'm now on carnivore with avocado, spinach, mushrooms and garlic (I have low potassium). Loving this life.
That is incredible! PS not sure if you check the community tab because as a channel member you get access to all my videos before they go live to the public 🙂 I am also making some changes and adding some new perks! ua-cam.com/users/HealthCoachKaitcommunity
Good to read you're doing so well. I'm carnivore for most of the time. One thing I wanna say go easy on the spinach, you increased your risk on getting kidney stones from them. Because of the high oxalate levels in them. Specially when you have changed your diet you can get oxalate dumping in your body. ua-cam.com/video/5iIqEQx-aO8/v-deo.html
@@marianne1959 🙂 So many of us share the same story! Here's an update: I'm 63 now, weigh 167lbs from 240 and, most importantly my A1c is currently 5.7. I'm chasing a 5.0! Keep up your great work, Marianne. 👍
I passed all the test except the blood one (HOMA-IR). Get a blood test, insulin resistance hides very well. I insisted that I had it because of the dark patches, but no one believed me until i had the test lol
I had the dark patches of skin in my groin area. I have been eating OMAD for 8 weeks now and the darkness is virtually gone. Is this an indication that I may no longer be insulin resistant?
Thanks for the informative video. There is something that doesn't make sense. In your chart for waist to height ratio anyone with a ration less that .52 is insulin sensitive. This means that everyone is at least insulin sensitive and no one is normal(healthy). What number must you get below in order to drop out of insulin sensitivity and just be normal and healthy. You did the same thing with the Tryglyceride to HDL ration chart and the numbers for Blood glucose-Oral glucose tolerance test. Can you please tell us what number on each of these tests you have to get below in order to be healthy? Thank you.
I am on my journey to reverse IR right now. I've been eating meat heavy keto for 7 weeks now and my blood sugar has gone down a lot :) I still have a high ratio on my weight/hight but I'm working on it. I want to lose weight of course, but it's going very slowly, I'v only lost about 5 lbs, but I have lost som inches. But isnt't i true that IR slow down your weight loss a lot? That you have to heal before you can lose? I've been insulin resistent for at least 5-6 years.
@@HealthCoachKait I have another question about IR and blood sugar. When I started eating keto my bs went down to 4,5-4,7 mmol/l (80-85 mg/dl) and I was so happy, but now, 10 weeks later, my blood sugar is high again?! Now it's around 5,5-6,6 mmol/l (100-115 mg/dl) Why is this? I watched a video with Dr Berg, and he said something about "it's the insulin getting lower, the blood sugar get higher temporary" ... Do you agree with him?

I have PCOS with all blood tests in normal range (insulin, glucose, c-peptides, thyroid functions, sexual hormones and even endocrine hormones) but since I have PCOS and acne, its clear there is a hidden insulin response somewhere that goes undetected by tests (ANDROGENIC RESPONSE TO INSULIN). At the end, the Endocrinologist and I decided to stop testing and go straight to intermittent fasting and eating more balanced meals. Went back 30 days later with almost clear skin and a big reduction of size and quantity of cysts in the ovaries.. even had signs of ovulation. * Without taking any medication or birth control. What I did: 1. I ate a balanced diet. (not keto) 2. I IF anywhere from 18/6 or 20/4 hrs. (2 meals a day) 3. I lower the intensity of training. (lowered sugar cravings) - There is no cure for insulin resistance but diet and IF are a HACK for our defective bodies.. LOL.
Have you been able to reverse insulin resistance?
Health Coach Kait, yes. Keto combined with OMAD. Within six months down thirty pounds, no more food comas, adrenal fatigue gone, and no more symptoms from arthritis.
It can take time. If your shortness of breath is improving, you're at least on the right track 🙏

I'm fat, (around the middle). Can't loose the weight. I've been insulin resistant for YEARS and didn't know what it was. Now I can turn this around.

Thank you, Health Coach Kait! We reversed my husbands IR. Just by getting rid of sugar, grains and processed "foods".
Amazing! 🙏
@@ashsharma3169 You cannot burn fat by exercise after eating because insulin is up.
@@PeopleHealthTec The exercise blunts insulin release because during exercise glucose enters cells without the need for insulin.
@Lake TitiCaca I'm skeptical anytime someone says not to eat things that are natural and nutritious.
I’ll take that over a crash diet any day
That's where most of the gains are . The first two months
Love this !
Awesome work Angela.
How long did you fast?
Hey how many carbs would you consume daily?
Due to your help I think I have receded insulin resistant. I started working on it after watching some video you had on the topic. Diabetes runs prevalently on both sides of my family and most members have had to have limbs amputated, dialysis, or organ transplants because of it. I refuse to be next. When my cousin stated she was in the transplant list at age 36, I knew I needed to do something. Being overweight I looked to solve that at came across your videos. My waist to height was much higher but now0.51 from starting in February. My goal is to be within my BMI by my 40th birthday in February 2022.
Awesome! Sounds like you are making some great progress! 👏
Oh my gosh, your video website it's helpful for my AC1 results of 13.8 after 2 months my result AC1 level 7.8. Thanks for sharing your help thank you again 😍😍😍💡💡💡🙏💕💕💕
Heyy great news. I just want to ask are you type 1 diabetic?
Thank you. Just knew today that I am an IR.. Beginner stage. Thank you for your clips & I think I am able to plan my meals properly.
Are u diabetic or only insulin sensitive ???
You eat Keto.?

I just assume that I'm insulin resistant and eat accordingly.
I check off 8 out of 9 boxes. I'm already changing my diet. These videos are very helpful.
Have to do a BG reading and A1C test. I thought I was diabetic for sure, come to find out I'm pre-diabetic and at the low end of that also, so a lot I can do to reverse it. Preventative eating a good practice. I think everyone should adopt that attitude and we will all be better off.
Me too, I'm avoiding all kind of sugars and keep my carbohydrates intakes to the minimum.
Lol that works too
Thank you so much for uploading such extremely important life saving information video!!!

Keep going, it gets easier!
It gets much MUCH EASIER. Persevere.
Good job fasting and healthy eating really works
(I'm not that cruel) But her appetite is a dragon outside the door staining to get in
What fruits does she eat.
@@proveit3836 bananas, oranges, grapes mostly. To be fair, I think the weight loss due to stopping insulin. Natural fruit is ok as a sugar source in moderation.

Was not hungry so am now on day 4 still not hungry.
Seems I am insulin resistant so I looked up that and found your video.
My stomach is starting to growl at last so hopefully I will get hungry soon (hoping that is a good sign)
Now going to look at your other video.
My waist measurement is 0.68 and I have high blood pressure.
I asked my GP for a diabetic's test a year ago.
He refused which seems silly considering my weight and stomach.
National Health Service in the UK, we get refused a lot of things.
Lie to the GP and say you are worried as a few members of family Inc mom/dad are diabetic.... I.e. family history .
You do excellent clips very informative
What units of measurements do you use to work out weight/height test?
I did intermittent fasting twice. Both times for 1 month because I started to have heartburn. The first month I thought it was just a coincidence and I tried it again after 4-5 months, but after 1 month again I had the same problem 🙁
Some people say that by just drinking water with a little lemon juice the heartburn went away.
Just recently know about having insulin resistance.. your video really helpful!

Look forward to your reply and thanks so much
I calculated mine at 0.48. I'm lucky to not have reached 0.53 but I'm not content with that result. Thanks for the helpful hint.
You explain things so well. Thank you!
When i start eating healthy and doing exercises, it took me 1-2 month to see a difference and get my cycle back.

The ratio beweeen TG and HDL works out to be the same, whether you use mmol/L or Mg/dL so if you have it in one format you don’t have to convert it, as long as both readings have the same units 👍🏻
It actually doesn't. To convert trigs from mmol/L to mg/dL you multiply by 89. And for HDL you multiply by 39.
I stand corrected 👍🏻
I didn’t realize that the conversions used different multipliers 🤦🏻♂️
Thank you for clarifying 👍🏻
I tested it doing the ratio between my waist size and height. I'm 0.529....... and I can feel it.

Hi! as somone in tge same situation as you were i would love to know if you had any success in reversing your insulin resistance
Well.its complicated, I'm getting tested and I got high cortisol, which could be the cause of the high bp, they didn't test my a1c so I though it could be insulin resistance still. Anyways diet has improved things like acne and that. I just hope I don't have cushing's and this is just anxiety.

For the first test - what units of measurement do I use? KG or LBS ? And CM or Inches?
Yeah same question here
Doesn't matter what units as long as it is the same for both.
Hi Kait, would you recommend a KETO diet as a long term way to go?
Wow back in 2019 my waist to height was 0.94 now it's 0.73 oh well at least I am half way to my goal. I will stick to it and get it to 0.52 or better.

(That actually took the longest amount of time!)
I'm now on carnivore with avocado, spinach, mushrooms and garlic (I have low potassium). Loving this life.
That is incredible!

Good to read you're doing so well. I'm carnivore for most of the time. One thing I wanna say go easy on the spinach, you increased your risk on getting kidney stones from them. I had the dark patches of skin in my groin area. I have been eating OMAD for 8 weeks now and the darkness is virtually gone. Is this an indication that I may no longer be insulin resistant?
Most people with insulin resistance don’t even have that symptom so I would say no.

Probably saved our lives thank you for your knowledge and sharing it.

As your insulin resistance improves, weight loss will come 🙏
@@HealthCoachKait I have another question about IR and blood sugar.
When are you measuring your blood sugar?
A simple test for IR is your fasting a.m. glucose should be less than 99 and A1c below 5.6. This big dose of glucose intake is inflammatory, onerous and not accurate. Treatment: 1. remove all grains, sugars and fruits (are really candies growing on trees and plants) from your diet 2. IF like 16/8, 3. Substitute good fats (salmon, avocados, nuts, olive and coconut oil, etc) and low carb veggies (avoid potatoes, cooked carrots and roots) .3. exercise (even walking 30 minutes daily), preferably after eating.
"meat heavy" ? keto 80 fat 20 protein?
(lowered sugar cravings)
- There is no cure for insulin resistance but diet and IF are a HACK for our defective bodies.. LOL.
Keto cures.
