I bought your blues guitar course, is the info in the free book included? I have signed up for the free book but I have not received a link or email to download it.
I like some of Clapton's music, but I'm less crazy about him as a person. I didn't know the story behind the song until now. He wanted to snatch someone's wife and he then writes songs about it? He has also become anti-vaxx.
jon always a pleasure you break things down into ""part A, part B. bridge, chorus, pre chorus" making things understandable , thanks always you've made me learn dozens of songs by your teaching method - rick montreal , canada
This is a great lesson for one of my favourite songs. The comparison with Something is interesting, especially given that both songs are written about the same woman, Patty Boyd.
Love all the lessons with E.C the more the better…also would love to start learning some delta blues and slide guitar in the open tunings etc…thanks for all your hard work❤🎸🎶
I have seen Eric play this song live and chord 4 in the verse he played as a C7 as opposed to an Am/G. I guess we all know Eric changes chords when he feels like it... Anyway, that also sounded bluesy. Great demo by the way!
Since Amin is the relative minor of Cmaj it's interesting to consider that the verse is actually the key of Amin not Cmaj. Then the key change to Amaj in the chorus is explained as a parallel minor to major modulation.
During the chorus, Bobby chimes in with the fire alarm sounding slide, which is probably just tapping up and down on the bars in A. The mimicked alarm sound sets the desperate tone of the song. The relationship is in a state of emergency. Clever guitar effect. It could also just be Eric tapping harder on that A chord solo too.
Great song - one my favs to play. Coming from acoustic solo performance, I've always liked to barre my chords in that second part ("Do you want to see me crawl across the floor for you"), and started playing the D chord barred on the 5th fret A string, but with E ringing out on the B string, rather than F#. Is that a D5add9? Kind of a different chord, but always seemed to suit this song here. I was curious to see how you play it. Neat lesson Jon, thanks!
Practice ..practice...practice and soon you will...A lot of .people give up bef0ore they reach that level. Hang in there and before you know it you will be playing this song ...no problem..
This "I use my thumb" thing is ridiculous. I have huge hands, but I can't use my thumb due to an injury. Besides, I would think most people watching this video are beginners, maybe intermediate. Can you teach without using your thumb for almost every chord?? Thx.
you asked if Clapton was influenced by George Harrison in the writing of this song......I'd say "yes", if Clapton had actually written it.....but, Bobby Whitlock actually wrote it.....
Whitlock stated in an interview in 2011 that "Eric started the song ... He played me the first two verses at his house and I helped with the last verse". That would suggest that Eric wrote the music himself.
Hey Phil! So sorry you're disappointed. The part I played at the beginning is not on the actual recording it's just an improvised jam which is how I start all my videos, that's why I didn't teach it. Also this is a lesson on how to play the chords to the song, not the solo. When I do solo lessons I will post it in the title. Stay tuned though I have another solo lesson on this coming soon. Good lesson!! Amazing seeing how Clapton and Harrison shared chords as well as wifes!!
😂

Wives
Great song, solo lesson would be sweet

This is a great lesson for one of my favourite songs. The comparison with Something is interesting, especially given that both songs are written about the same woman, Patty Boyd.
Glad you liked it!
Greetings! I learned that tune in 71". However, your rendition is more original . Great stuff. Thank you.

Brilliant lesson. Thanks!

You really nailed the nuances. Well done!
Love that song. Thanks for breaking it done so well!
It would be interesting to trace that C to A Key change for earlier examples in earlier pop or blues or folk songs. great lesson as usual Jon!
Since Amin is the relative minor of Cmaj it's interesting to consider that the verse is actually the key of Amin not Cmaj. Then the key change to Amaj in the chorus is explained as a parallel minor to major modulation.
Great lesson mate.
Great blues song, and great guitar lesson!
Thanks Jon !😉
Thanks very much, Jon.
Excellent Jon
WOW! Bravo!! TY
Great tutorial!
Awesome! One of my favorite songs. Great job!
Great lesson on the chords! Makes learning new chords and some theory fun! Is there a solo lesson??
Thanks
Very noble !!

Good video Brother
Great song Jon and fantastic lesson. Really enjoyed it. Neat little solo too :)
Glad you liked it!

Practice ..practice...practice and soon you will...A lot of .people give up bef0ore they reach that level. Hang in there and before you know it you will be playing this song ...no problem..
Like it 👍
DERIC AND THE DOMINOES WHERE ALL ON HARRISON'S DEBUT ALBUM WHERE THEY MET ...I THINK?
please i need tabs for the intro
1:58
What were the settings on the guitar
Clapton was trying to steal Harrison's wife with this song, so it makes sense he was stealing his style as well... ;)
🎶✌️👍🎶💕
Where’s the solo lesson?
Steal a man’s chords, steal a man’s wife…all in a day’s work.
man thats awesome, thanks!
This "I use my thumb" thing is ridiculous. I have huge hands, but I can't use my thumb due to an injury. Besides, I would think most people watching this video are beginners, maybe intermediate. Can you teach without using your thumb for almost every chord?? Thx.
You have covid
Maybe George stole it from Eric.. what year ,is that song you are talking about.. Bell bottom, was written around 70 with D and Domino's
Something was wrote before bell bottom blues
You got it
Not acvurate
Does not track with the original. I hate what Clapton did to change the song.

Clapton definitely had a george harrison type solo sound there. It sounds very "let it be" you know what i mean?
Nice lesson on the chords, but you teased folks with the lead part. It's not part of this lesson and very disappointing. WTF
Hey Phil! So sorry you're disappointed. The part I played at the beginning is not on the actual recording it's just an improvised jam which is how I start all my videos, that's why I didn't teach it.
