    You might pick up some 100% silicone oil . Will not hurt o-rings or diesel when shooting . I use food grade just for handling toxicity . Safe stuff , cheep . Great video and nice to see you are still around and doing good .

    Tom (Tomcat Airguns) and Steve (AEAC) made a video on this product a couple of years ago. For those who are based in EU, you can order from a reseller in the UK or Sweden. I use this product + Ballistol to clean my airgun barrels once in a while. Terrific product. Perfect cleaning.

    Nice vid mate. That CLP bottle looked very familiar. I might have to look at getting one of these patch kits, as they look the goods.

    I wonder if you could make your own patches with an appropriate sized metal hole punch, like 20mm dia.?

      I use heavy fishing line and old cotton T shirts. Works a treat and costs nothing (if you're a fishing bloke)

    Works great , love mine !
    Question , do you use lube on your pellets and how many shots had gone through your barrel before cleaning ?

    • @meatheadmarksman2013
      @meatheadmarksman2013  3 роки тому

      Nah I just shoot them straight out the tin usually. Many many hundreds between cleans

      @@meatheadmarksman2013 I guess it depends on the pellet manufacturer as to how clean a tin of pellets are , some do a better job than others .
      I’m only using the FX .22 cal .22 grain at the moment and have cleaned my barrel 3 times in 1000 rounds , what I did find is some lead powder inside the silencer canister , it’s the residue left when the groves are cut on the slugs from the rifling . Out of box my MKII was shooting 750fps , I have since adjusted it to 948 with a dev. of 5fps on 10 shot group , very pleased at the groups at 40 yards . I will need to experiment more at distance and other pellets and weights to see what else shoots well . FYI , I’m from South Carolina , would love to take a trip with my wife down under one day !

    Noticed you had four O rings on your liner. Why four? Does placement of the O rings affect the
    HARMONICS and accuracy
    Learn a lot from your videos. Thanks. Tom

    • @meatheadmarksman2013
      @meatheadmarksman2013  3 роки тому +1

      I cant remember why I put 4 on lol moving them around on there can change the harmonics a little bit. you can also try no orings at all or even order a carbon fiber sleeve instead

      Thanks for the come back. I am an accuracy fanatic Benchrest shooter and little things can make a WINNING difference But as you have said many times "My gun will not shoot the same as yours"
      Something to think about though Thanks again Tom

      @@tbuggey7232 although the liner system is versataile and accuracy very good ,,i think a normal thick steel barrel of the right twist and diameter. is more dependableand sturdy ,a pcp gets cold and the liner inside the shroud will shrink ,and more tension will come. a massive lothar walther barrel could fitted in and leave the shroud and liner system

    Missed ya buddy,.. can I ask you a question. I’m about to order and FX either impact or Maverick. I’m in Melbourne.
    Have you had any issues with your FX guns, is support ok in Oz?

    • @meatheadmarksman2013
      @meatheadmarksman2013  3 роки тому

      Yeah you will have issues with any pcp airgun because they are quite complex but hermanns guns will look after you. They've fixed anything that went wrong with mine no worries.

    What color should i use for .177 cal Gamo Coyote pcp air rifle ?

  • @peteralexben
    @peteralexben 3 роки тому

    this kit is ment to use withe the liner in the gun ,did you use felt cleaning pellets from vfg ,.dont use them or slugs or pellets under reg pressure , if you lay the gun with the upside down and barrel pointing somewhat down ,you get no solvent inside the gun , and shoot some vfg pellets to dry the barre out

    Is the fx barrel liners not stainless steel?

    • @meatheadmarksman2013
      @meatheadmarksman2013  3 роки тому

      Yeah its stainless, the discoloration wiped off pretty easy. I think the 4th o ring might actually be a breach o ring not a liner o ring... haven't gotten around to checking yet but

    Wrong use of this cleaning kit. Read Patchwork website. FIRST insert the patch, SECONd the vilt button. It is logic too. And yes silicon oil is well know to use because it does not harm O rings.

    Balistol isn't a good cleaner for barrels. It is a good lubricant, but not cleaner. I would recommend using CLP Mil Spec or regular Clp if you can't find the Mil Spec version night and day difference
