This is what did it for me. I play Keys and aux guitar. Half of my keys rig is from an iPad Pro - running through 5/6 with effects or 1/2(DRY) is the ultimate flexibility and I sold my UA interface that I used for live sets. Incredible.
I thought I was already getting a lot out of my Stomp as a gigbag Swiss Army knife for audio, but this takes it to the next level. Cool idea, thank you!
I play a touch guitar with a bass and a treble side. So I needed to process to parallel signals. Thanks for showing me how to do it. Prog rock, here I come.
I've been using my stomp and floor like this since I first bought them. With the stomp now having control centre it much more useful for patch changes etc
Cool idea! There’s just one thing I can’t wrap my head around - int he first example with the 2 stereo paths, how are you using the fx loop block (which uses the send and return jacks) and then route the path B output again to the stereo Send jack? All the best!
Hey man, I'm a bass player and about to get the HX Stomp delivered from a store. I'm also a keyboard player, but I couldn't really combine the two, as bass has to be there for the most part of the song... This here opens a world of possibilities for me, thank you so much. Sub well deserved!! Best regards!
Thanks for your video brother. I just bought a Cole Clark True Hybrid guitar which I have been eyeing since they were released. I think this will work with running the electric side and acoustic side to two separate rigs then out to the house.
Yeah man...could be cool for a couple people needing to go direct at the same time. I just love making beautiful pad sounds and playing on top of it. I think I may make a video of nothing but ambient sounds to fall asleep to! haha
I have a Stomp XL and a Helix Floor. They’re both amazing units but I still want the regular HX Stomp and the POD Go because, why not? Also waiting for my invite for the Fractal FM9 and I’ll have the best of both worlds. I used to hate Line 6, the best thing that ever happened to them was the Yamaha acquisition.
Absolute money on this video, quick question, can I run my acoustic mono left and my electric mono right, then use a snapshot to switch between acoustic reverb setup and full electric setup?
Hey! This is awesome! Do you know if this works with an old-school midi-only keyboard? I am not sure if the Stomp’s midi in can be used to actually receive midi audio signal (I am concerned it can’t). But perhaps there are midi to 1/4in cables that can be used instead. Any thoughts?
That could resolve the problem of one guitar player switching between electric and acoustic. I assume there might be some acoustic amps or some acoustic IRs.
This is fantastic. Is there a way to set a button up to switch between the two paths? I have a PRS Piezo Hollowbody II and would like to just switch between acoustic and electric sounds while I’m playing solo.
Hi great video. If I wanted to have an electric guitar and acoustic guitar both plugged in to my stomp ( not to use in the same preset ) could I build a preset where it sends signal down right input (mono) and then split output for frfr speaker on stage and second path direct to front of house for sound guy to control. E.g have my one control over on stage volume ? I have managed this with my electric guitar via left on mono channel. And then splitting output left and right. The key advantage for me in doing this would be not having to unplug anything and just cycle between a preset to switch between my acoustic and electric setup
I run both guitar and vocals through the HX Stomp, is there a way to get the Headphone out to be summed mono, and the Left and Right outputs to be separate? Or are those 2 paths connected?
Once you go Helix/HX you never go back. I also had the Firehawk FX but they never updated it or supported it. It left all us owners hanging high and dry (unlike Helix/HX which is updated and adds new stuff all the time for years and years now). The Helix user community is HUGE and so so many good free presets out there. Anything you like on your Firehawk just copy down settings so you can recreate them once you get the Helix/HX product. If you have the FIrehawk get the Helix LT (like me) or the PodGo as they both have the expression/volume/wah pedal in one unit which is helpful to control stuff.
Hey thanks for the video! I was trying to setup my presets so that I could plug 2 guitars into the hx stomp and then take left and right audio outputs and send each to their own exclusive amp so that each amp only outputs one guitar's signal, but with both guitars still running through the same pedal effects. With no changes to my existing preset, I can plug both guitars and amps in and get both sounds coming out of both amps. I was thinking of just adding a volume block at the end of the chain and dragging it down to the second line then panning both the split and mixer blocks all the way left and right. Do you think this will work? Ive been trying to test this on reaper using the usb out but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get reaper to split the audio. I only have 1 amp so I cant test this until I next meet up with my other guitar player which makes this very difficult to setup and troubleshoot. Thanks!
Since I will be using a keyboard and guitar as well, will I need to change the input and output to line level in the global settings of the stomp? From my understanding keyboards and synths are line level and I’m new to the stomp so I wouldn’t want to accidentally damage it in any way lol * I will be running the mono/mono set up with my guitar plugged into L input and keyboard plugged into R input
Hi. I have a question, i have a digitech trio (not the trio plus) and have an hx stomp i want to connect both in a way where the trio gets my signal and plays a drum beat after recognising the rhythm, and the output from stomp should not be affected by the drum machine's circuit. But they should be in a chain, basically what I'm trying to do is to have a drum machine in my pedal board just like zoom/ampero/mooer ge200 processors have...? If I can't do you have any suggestions how do I do that?
I think you can do what you want using the return and set it to AUX...this allows a clean path through the Stomp without affecting the tone like in this video: ua-cam.com/video/cLLaHU6nD7w/v-deo.html
I am well aware I’m late to this party lol but what about using the Hx Stomp with 2 guitars without having to unplug your guitar to switch between the two? I switch between a tele and my baritone guitar a lot and unplugging is lame.
yes this is useful if you wanted to record a short looping section with an acoustic guitar and then switch guitars to riff over it with an electric guitar as well
Thanks for the video - really helpful! I wondered do you have the inputs set to line and inst level separately? Also, what is the rationale for the silent loop? I’m waiting for my stomp to be delivered so sorry if these are stupid qns!
I just have the input set to instrument level...and output line level. the silent part of the loop allows you to create a seamless loop...no harsh starting point...it'll make it sound infinite. I explain it better in some other videos...here's an older one: ua-cam.com/video/11v8_aYJl0w/v-deo.html
Just a thought, looking at your 2 inst. 2 output (2nd method), instead of using a 2nd instrument, I will use it as a monitor feed from FOH.. and then having no cable plugged from the "right output".. Do you think its possible?
Thanks for making this video! I may be a lil bit late to the party, but is it possible: use the hx stomp for instrument insert(run amps and effects), and play along to a track/song - and listen to it via the headphone out( for in home practice)? But to still make it possible to get mono or stereo out to FOH (when actually performing)? It would be great if this was an all in one patch. Thanks!
Yes, absolutely! You would just plug in your music device into the "AUX In" on the side of the unit. But sense that's the same return for the FX Loop, you won't be able to use the FX Loop at the same time
Thank you for this explanatory video mate! Question: I've setup my hx-stomp the exact same way as your option 3 (2 mono instruments mixed to the main stereo output). However, in my case the dry signals of both instruments stay panned all the way to the left and right in the mix and this is not what I want obviously. In your mix it seems like both the dry and wet signals are nicely mixed to the stereo output. Did you ever run into similar problems?
This is what did it for me. I play Keys and aux guitar. Half of my keys rig is from an iPad Pro - running through 5/6 with effects or 1/2(DRY) is the ultimate flexibility and I sold my UA interface that I used for live sets. Incredible.
that's so cool

Yes! Command Center is a game changer. I wish there were more instant commands...but it's still great
Nicely done mate, this is something I’ve been working with personally a lot and I think you covered just about everthing here.
Awesome, thanks man! I haven't messed with anymore Bluetooth...I need to get on that
Cool idea! There’s just one thing I can’t wrap my head around - int he first example with the 2 stereo paths, how are you using the fx loop block (which uses the send and return jacks) and then route the path B output again to the stereo Send jack?

you're right...you can't do both...that was an unfortunate block to use as an example
I was scratching my head about that, like there was something I was missing. Glad you had already asked - and that he had already answered! ;P

How does this allow you to run bass keyboard and guitar?
@@saigonproducer you connect one into left input, another one into right input. In preset you choose what input source are you using
@@mkrokocki How did you go along with setting that up live? As in connections, effect sounds, sending to the FOH etc.
That's more than helpful! Thanks a lot for laying this out so clear and simple🙏
You're very welcome!
Brother thanks for all the ideas and info! I hope you have a blessed day!
Thanks! You too!
Beautifully explained. thank you!
Glad to help!

Do it bro!
This is super useful! In my case, I'd use this with my electric acoustic guitar because of some acoustic presets I had. Thanks man!
Rock on!
great tutorial and tips/tricks. very cool for sure.
Thanks so much!

yeah...gotta catch them all! haha
Mind.Blown.
haha...it's crazy how much this little thing can do
thanks for the useful sharing!

Definitely...You can use a footswitch to toggle the split block
@@HeyWorshipLeader Oh, awesome. Gonna try this tonight. Thanks so much!
Using the same logic, can I split my signal to Left and Right using the Left as an output with an IR and the Right without?
Correct!

yes! You can do that. Leave them both plugged in and use "Split A/B" save one preset with path A100 and the other with path B100

I use a firehawk fx - maybe I'll pick up a used HX stomp!!!
It's def good to have as a back up off nothing else

hmmm and you verified that your mixer block "A Pan" and "B Pan" are set to "Center"? That should take any separate signal and blend them together
where are the time stamps….
