Explanation for the F1 wheel rotation: When I plugged the wheel back in to get some gameplay footage, the settings reset and I didn't bother to tinker with the settings since I was only doing one or two laps to get some footage. I understand that I should have adjusted it regardless. I'm still only a small creator and still have a lot to learn regarding attention to detail.
I was wondering: is he driving a bus through Spa? ;). I’m running a G27 with a brake mod. And I’m still seeing improvements. When that flattens out, I’ll try and get the new CSL DD🤩
Don't need to worry about it so much, it sometimes brings some fun to the video that type of mistake. Anyway, excellent video, I have a G27 and I was thinking about the upgrade, helped a lot!!
It's really annoying to see people forgetting all the good work done in the video and make a big deal of very irrelevant point to the whole review, please ignore these comments your review is very detailed and helpful, keep it up 👍👍
I just got my G923, biggest selling feature for me was that my local best Buy put them on the shelf where the G29 was on sale. So I got it for the G29 sale price (200$ off)
Your comment is quite popular so I’ll explain real quick 🙄 After I played with the wheel I disconnected it and filmed a bunch of shots of it. Then I remembered I needed some gameplay so I plugged it back in and it reset the settings in F1 2020. Since I was only doing like one or two laps to get some gameplay footage, I didn’t bother to tinker with the settings again. Simple as that...
@@OCRacing as a reviewer you should know thats sloppy work. Please do better if you want to be taken seriously. If not no big deal, not everyone wants a big review channel.
For those who complain about noise vibration, reducing the "kurb effect" and "bumps effects" (can be different names depend on the game) will help.Done it on my g27 and not only that,by that it help with reducing the "vibration"(much like turning shocks) of the wheel want to conteract your inputs and you end up fight your wheel instead of making a good line .Side note,i'm not playing with inverted force feedback.
Best advice I could give someone is to buy a second hand g920 or g29 and then stick with it until you want to upgrade to Fanatec or another higher spec wheel. I wouldn't recommend Thrustmaster in 2021 now that Fanatec have released their CSL DD. Just stick with logitech and if you ever feel like upgrading just wait until you can make the leap to entry level Fanatec gear. I bought my g920 with a shifter and basic wheel stand for 200 euro second hand and I wouldnt spend any more to get started! I would say that getting proper mounting made a massive difference to my g920 when I first upgraded it. That would definitely be your first upgrade!
ngl ive had the g920 and just got the Logitech g923 and i feels so refreshing idk how to explain it i personally like it and have no issues with the buttons. the buttons are supposed to mostly help in menus and sometimes in games depending on what the user is playing. i do agree that the price was over kill but it feels smooth, the force feed back is perfect and The vibrating is just on time during racing and drifting
I mean, I’ve used the iracing sim for years with a g27, so yes, there’s plenty of people using entry level stuff while paying for the subscriptions. Yes, I’m looking to graduate away, but can confirm I’ve had many people say they are also on entry level Logitech wheels for prolonged periods
Thank you for being in tune with reality. Those who says it must be the very best wheel and setup question is do they really have the very best and if the do they will have to live by that standard by upgrading when something better comes out.
I agree with your comments. I bought one a couple months ago and upgraded to a fanatec csl set. I would recommend a Thrustmaster T 300 in this price range instead of the 923.
@@liamroche4895 T150 appears to be a rather unstable model, so is the t300 This model are basically budget thing and they may have cut budget when making them. However if u have time u can upgrade the cooling and power supply of t300 to make it better. Not sure about T150 though
@@liamroche4895 idk. I personally have been using the thrustmaster TX which is nicer wheel but it has served me well for 2.5 years now. I'd recommend thrustmaster from my experience with them. Couple things to note. The G920 has a cheaper shifter available at about 1/3 the price of the Thrustmaster shifter. While the Thrustmaster shifter is nicer that's a large price difference. Thrustmaster has more options down the line than Logitech so if you plan on slowing upgrading things you can stay withing the thrustmaster eco system and upgrade slowly. This isn't as easy to do with the G920 unless your on PC where combining different company components together isn't as much of an issue.
@@LEMON3705 idk. I love my TX and have been using it for years without a single issue. Maybe what your saying is true but I can say mine has been running strong for a long time now.
Love my "chatterbox". Its feedback is actually very good when dialed in. The quickly mappable buttons make Assetto and piles of sims a breeze, having hotkeys for FFB +/-, all sorts of oddball inputs. Brake is extremely stiff and a LUT file can dial the wheel in further. I eliminated most of the gear chatter via settings adjustments and after 2 years of use I have it dialed in perfectly.
I've been using this wheel for almost a year now, great for low budget beginners but be warned : this wheel is known to rattle a lot with some games and the left wheel motor starts squeaking after a few weeks/months. You have been warned, but with that said, this a very pleasing wheel for games like Forza Horizon and Dirt. Heavy rattling on Assetto Corsa.
The rattling off-road on horizon makes my wheel feel and sound like it’s about to fall apart. Do you notice that too or have you found a way around that?
@@bradwk2srt843 I know this is an old comment, but for anyone wondering - in forza horizon 4/5 turn down the "off road feel" in the force feedback advanced settings and it is way better. I like to use around 0.3 anything over 0.5 is incredibly obnoxious.
It’s always been hard for me to stomach the cost of a Fanatec or Thrustmaster. My G920 has served me well for 5 years now. Though I did have to replace the shifter and pedal pots with a generic 10k ohm adapter kit once, other than that, the wheel has served me well. I use it on Assetto Corsa and iRacing. I would have been much happier if they would have bundled the shifter and gotten the total cost below $300. It’s a shame really, because it would be so much more competitive at that price.
Yeah, this just doesn't compare well to the T300. Which is belt driven, and has a motor more than twice as powerful. Comes with the T3pa pedals too. This is too expensive for what it is.
LOL I used the Momo Force for like 12 years before I moved out of my parents' house and didn't have the room for it anymore. I just moved and can afford to have a rig again, and bought the G29. I just couldn't justify anything else.
@@Erowens98 lol how powerful do you need your wheel to be? I´ve driven real cars and the wheels don´t usually take Arnold Schwarzenegger strength to drive lol
@@buzzbuzzard3809 More torque=faster response. Even if you only want light resistance a higher torque wheel will still be better because it'll work faster. This is very noticeable in something like drifting, where you rely heavily on the wheels fast self steering to catch the skid. Also, if you want to simulate something like a classic race car, or any car that doesn't have powersteering. Those things very well could give 12-25nm of resistance.
To be complete, durability should come into play here. My ancient logotech momo still works except the lock is not variable to the game played. Thats 20 years! I have several friends seeing their Thrustmasters wheels and/or pedals fail within 3 years of use. As such i chose a 923 and am happy with it, i hope for as long a time as my momo.
@@Haileyflower-b3l buy one bruv, I got mines yesterday and it’s so fun. The only thing is you need to search up steering wheel settings, especially for forza 5. If you don’t tune settings you’ll keep spinning out
Basically TrueForce is logitech 's "How to make a noisy wheel noisier 101" guide. Now for double the price of a G29 you get same clunky wheel which now vibrates your whole desk and everything on it. Excellent if you want the whole house to know you are playing :D As a bonus you get a new spring which you can install on a G29 for 3 bucks lol
I upgraded my brake spring to a gt eye brake spring and it feels better but it's nowhere near as good as it should be. The wheel is ok but the pedals are horrendous and I own a G29
Pedals will shit themselves after some hard use, brake feel is horrendous, throttle and brake dont have enough rake. Its overpriced entry level kit. Making the upgrade to the fanatec was the easiest decision after trying one. Vastly superior
All you need is load cell on the brake - its not same at all - the stiffness is something different than travel distance. With potentiometer it travels 80mm while load cell travels 5mm. And use 540 degree setting while rallying and 420-360 while driving F1 (change it in Logitech Gaming Software)
@@aidenmeakin8747 Im no support of iracing since I think it's a waste of money, but many people do drive with G27/G29 wheels, and they are competitive anyway. You don't need high end gear to take iracing seriously. Ofc, eventually you'll spend the same amount of money for a top high end wheel with the sub + cars and tracks money but oh well
Your conclusion is pretty spot on speaking from g29 owner. I don’t use that wheel anymore but even then I feel like the improvements from the driving force gt to the g29 isn’t even worth it. I say that now knowing what I know now.
I'm still on a DFGT that i have broken the case and brake pedal but ghetto rigged them both to barely work. I was looking at a G29 with H pattern would be a huge upgrade. I drove my friends G29 and the pedals alone was worth it, the speed of the wheel on transition of drifts and lightness compared to the slow clunky DFGT.
@@118Shadow118 The TMX Pro looks nice, actually cheaper than the G29 with shifter. The T300 with proper pedals and shifter is $480 though, out of my price range.
the one thing I wish with the G923 is that the stiffness of the brake was adjustable. I get for the racing enthusiast, you like the rock hard peddle for realism. From a practicality stand point, most that are buying this don't have the money and/or room for a sim rig, and that brake is stupid hard.
@@XxGAMERxXPS3 ya its 350 just for the base, about another 400+ for the wheel pedals vary on price from 80 up, 229 for the cheapest 3 pedal atm, and 250 for the shifter
dylan sanford Yeah... Am keeping my G29. That shit sounds overpriced and I dont give a f*** if its Direct drive or what every bs the claim it gives. 400 for wheel pedals that’s absolutely mad. Its just wheel paddles. Bruh Ps5 controller with that haptic motor feed back will give better braking feeling then that shit for 400 dollars.
I bought it for 270 in Amazon, which is a lot less than thrust masters t300 and t248, which sit at about 400 to 450. I was looking for PS5 compatibility for a small price of under 300, in that price range it was either this or a much older used wheel
I bought the new Direct Drive from Logitech, and the True Force , is starting being well supported, end the games which supports this technology, getting a very big improvement in the race experience, qnd also help you more than normal FFb, because it allows you to feel accurate "rpm" helping you a lot to manage the gas... I'm very satisfied by the experience with the DDPro and his features... I never tried G923, but i owned a G920 previously than this, and the different is huge like the "day and the night"
The pricing of g pro is so much above the g923 😐 Logitech should have a model with direct drive between the g pro and g923. Like a g924DD not as strong as the g pro in the same housing as the g923 (and same pedals as the g923).
right? yes. in ten years the 923 will cost 250 also. its like children dont understand how economy works. And we live in a world where skyrim and fallout cost full price for almost ten years.
@@dbspaceoditty It's idiotic to expect a wheel like this, which is literally a g25/g27 which are literally 15+ years old at this point (g25 released in 2006) to be released at such a price with minimal changes. I just got the 923 for the ps4/5 and tested grid legends gt sport and dirt 5 and the force feedback is anything but weak. I’m 6’2 about 245 lbs and an avid gym guy and the kick from this wheel is immense even to me. I’m wondering if u got a bad wheel or the games u tested weren’t properly formatted for it but this thing is powerful.
@@imposter4518 I had nothing to compare it to. I ended up going with the t300 with the load cell pedals the tss hand brake and th8a shifter. Much better than the Logitech setup, but also more expensive. I had to pay 300 for the sim hub for some reason that thing is impossible to come by
In my personal opinion none of the newer model wheels from any brand are weak. However I have a friend that has the 923 that he usually plays around 80-90% ffb and so I lent him my t300rs to try out and the ffb on my wheel wound up breaking his desk at 75% (we were in college and he didn’t have a very high quality desk lol but still). I don’t play with very high ffb myself but I think his point on the ffb in the video was to be taken into comparison with other wheels on the market. To me feel is more important than a ton of ffb power anyways and I think you get a ton of smooth movements and feel for the price of the 923. It’s an absolutely great starter wheel and it seems to hold second hand value very well from what I’ve personally seen.
@@brendancarter3453 thanks for that opinion. I'm looking at a used one that's got all the packaging and in new condition for £200 and hearing its a good starter setup is reassuring. Thanks.
I just bought the G923 to replace my G27 that stopped working after 4 years. The G923 is usually pitted against the similarly priced Thrustmasters. The reason I went for the Logitech was exactly the Thrustmasters' belt driven mechanism. I didn't want another fan near my ears, no matter how inaudible, throttling issues and belts that suspectable to more frequent failure.
Pretty fucking annoyed. I only just started getting interested in driving wheels, pedals, shifters and all of the thrustmaster T300RS GT's are either out of stock, discontinued, or overpriced.
For iracing it's amazing. I do recommend the G923 but only if you're a hardcore drifter for gaming and F1 games are alright just a few links like you have to recalibrate the pedals backwards but for Iracing it's perfect. It's like it was mad for iracing and yes iracing is worth every penny if you love Racecar driving and playing racing games
@@DastardlyDago I get it. So when you have a Logitech wheel most of the time for asetta Corsa or F1 on game pass, you will start a race like normal but the car for out of control cause the pedals are backwards. Gas up means gas down. Breaking is opposite too. So you will need to recalibrate in settings. So when you do that hold the gas in before you start the calibration and then start the calibrating and let go then end the calibration then let off the pedal. Same with the gas and the clutch. I hope you can picture all that in your head
After having tried a few different Logitech wheels/pedals I've been left with a certain feel of cheapness every time, which is why Iended up going with Thrustmaster
I definitely don't recommend this path in 2021 for people getting into sim racing. People should continue with their logitech until they can afford even a basic Fanatec setup. Thrustmaster is like playing with a kids toy compared to Fanatec especially with their new CSL DD coming out. I'd highly recommend skipping the thrustmaster phase nowadays. There isnt even much price difference with between a new fanatec full basic DD setup and a top end Thrustmaster belt driven wheel. Thrustmaster used to be a good option but not anymore!
@@FinnD777 so I’ve watched reviews for the Fanatec dd base. Not heard anyone say it’s worth the money yet. Also you HAVE to buy the booster kit for it to be just slightly better than the csl elite. Seems like the fanatec dd isn’t worth it either. I’d however from personal experience highly recommend exactly the opposite of you. Logitech sounds cheap, looks cheap and from what I’ve trying and heard feels cheap. Where as my thrustmaster t300 rs feels very nice, easy to setup and use on both ps4 and pc. I don’t see any single argument where Logitech offers any better than Thrustmaster. Thrustmaster also have a big line of upgrades you can do. And if you’re playing on console like I do, fanatec just isn’t possible. Since the csl elite have been discontinued, the only compatible wheel base for the ps4, cost 1800€. That’s just insane, so I wouldn’t even recommend fanatec anymore. But if you can find a csl elite with pedals for around 3-400€ that would be the best option. Anything else, go with Thrustmaster.
@@AcD420 I’m guessing you are one of the Thrustmaster army. Don’t worry I’m no Fanatec fanboy, but the CSL DD is obviously a better wheel base. From someone who’s tried my friends Thrustmaster t300 quite a few times, had my own Logitech g920 and a DD1, I know the market. Thrustmaster wheel is better than Logitech, but I still think that the best way in is the trusty cheap Logitech that is super durable with a good resale value. The CSL DD is better than the CSL Elite, that’s clear, the reviews compare the 5nm version to the DD1 and other similar wheels, not any belt driver wheel (with the CSL Elite already being superior to Thrustmaster’s offerings). Thrustmaster have done a good thing realeasing the tgt, I believe it will be a great product filling a gap in the market. Also CSL DD is compatible with Xbox and PS version is expected very soon with the announcement of Gran Turismo 7
@@FinnD777 nonono my friend haha, Im not in any “group” for wheels, I simply just have a Thrustmaster. Before I started looking at wheels and looking deep into what wheel I should get, I was also saying Logitech was probably best as they are more known. But I wouldn’t say you’re right, the dd wheel should be compared to other direct drive wheels, not belt driven as it is a direct drive wheel. Most reviews I’ve seen if the dd stated that getting it without the boost kit wasn’t worth anything, you’d be better of sticking to your g29 or t150/300 and save up more money for newer wheels in the future. I like to think of it this way: Logitech is for people with limited money, not sure if they wanna get into sim racing but wanna try it out. Thrustmaster is for people who know they wanna get into sim racing, but don’t have big stacks of money. And fanatec is for people who either don’t like money, have to much money, or are way to into sim racing. And yes fanatec is from what I’ve seen and heard, by far the best wheels (on a mass production level) out there. Great quality and great compatibility within their own eco system for upgrades of wheel rims and pedals etc. However the price is also way up there. I know getting a direct drive wheel base for 350€ is insanely cheap, however, from a direct drive, I would certainly expect more than 5nm. Like that’s pretty much what my t300 do. And outside of the 350€ you also have to spend at least 150 on a pedal set and another 150 for a wheel rim. That’s just a hell of a lot of money for most people. Compared to the csl elite set which was I think 550€ for base, rim and pedals. Putting out the same nm as the dd. Anyway, fanatec is looking like they’re moving over to having direct drive only which I think is a big shame as the csl elite was so popular. And especially if you’re on ps4 fanatec right now is a complete no go. I know the dd is coming to ps4 which I like very much, as it’s great to see they don’t just solely focus on pc. And just to tie a knot to your first line, I don’t really care what other people are racing on or using as long as they’re happy with it. This community is split enough over 3 different platforms with 10 or so different sim titles to race on. Wheels and such are the only thing actually combining the entire sim racing community so seeing all this beef and tension between users of different brands really take 90% of all the fun away, hence my choice of just trying to express my experiences and knowledge so people might look into things themselves to see what’s gonna be best for them instead of just seeing one sponsored ad and buy the wheel straight away
@@AcD420 Ok, I’m not gonna give you a long long response 😂. I think you missed the point of the reviews, when they say that the 5nm version is lacking something. They are comparing it to a strong direct drive wheel, not a t300. Chris Haye said very clearly that even at the base version is is in a different league to any belt or gear driven wheel and others had similar thoughts. It may be too weak for the avid sim racer who wants full simulation, but 5nm is still plenty of strength for anyone who isn’t in that category yet. As for prices the CSL DD is €350, pedals €80 and wheel rim €200. That’s €630, which I know isn’t cheap but is definitely comparable in price with the higher end Thrustmaster products. I’m not saying people should just throw their money at this Fanatec wheel, I just think that they should start with a cheap Logitech or Thrustmaster, and just wait until you can afford an upgrade to the DD!
True force is achieved by using frequency wave base electro speakers inside, along with the motor that controls the steering wheel… When connected to your desk, it may sound like there’s a subwoofer baseline playing through the steering wheel so even when the games volume turned off, it sounds like you’re inside the car in the game
Just got mine today from Best Buy $423 was pretty steep for me but this is my first wheel and I really love it. Also I play it on the crew 2 and the force feedback all the way up is actually perfect on the crew I guess it depends on the game
@@envy77 yeah I’ve seen a lot of reviews of all the Logitech stuff and have seen upsides and downsides to all of them, this is my first time ever experiencing any kind of force feedback and it’s just so new to me and cool so I think I honestly would’ve been happy with a 50 dollar bungee system haha
Just got a Logitech for Christmas. It’s definitely a hell of a learning curve compared to a controller. However, I play Forza so I’m pretty bummed at not having a bumper button so I can change from 3rd to 1st person more efficiently.
I bought it discounted for less than 180€ at a local store, I'd say I made a pretty good deal. Also Trueforce is now supported in Dirt Rally 2.0 and it's really nice.
I'm excited for it because everywhere I look they said it's great. The only negative is the price point. And I just purchased mine for $220! Right before GT7 releases
I had the G29 which was a great starter wheel and it was well priced as it was usually on sale. I then recently moved to the Thrustmaster T300 RS with the TLC pedal set which was a huge jump up in performance...Still for beginners and those on a budget, get the older G29 unless the G923 comes down in price significantly though worth spending just a tad more on the T300Rs which is just a lot better.
Just an FYI: last month Codemaster released what they have called the final patch for Dirt Rally 2.0 and they added Trueforce in that patch. Also for the PS4 owners GTS supports Trueforce.
Guess I’ll keep my G29 for a while. Great video, changed my mind about a possible “upgrade”. And thanks again for showing up at my video. Cheers, mate! 🏁

Bought one at the weekend, PS4 version. plugged it in, turned on the Playstation and started playing Gran Turismo Sport. Initial force feedback was tight! Definitely couldn't turn it 'with one finger'. Maybe X-Box version different
Crazy how many people say this. Logitech claims the two varients to be exactly the same however, the amount of people saying otherwise convinced me to buy the pc/ps version. Still haven't used it hopefully they are right.
I still haven't felt there to be a big enough difference between the wheels to upgrade past my G27. i don't play competitive and after using my friends G29. I couldn't feel a big enough difference to upgrade, glad to know I will still be holding on to my G27 until I can upgrade to a Thrustmaster setup.
something else I should add with the Logitech wheels. I personally have not gotten the G923 *and this reviews has made me glad I haven't* but and issue that me and my friend had with the wheel (I have g920, friend has g20) after a lot of heavy use the wheel will start to lock towards the left, and the more you use it, the worse it gets. I play a lot of assetto corsa and I use the FFB mod and a Luna script to get really heavy FFB so the wheel does more of the work for me. And well it only makes the locking glitch worse. That is probable the reason why the locking is extremely light.
Thank you. I am having the same problem with my G923 being it having really weak force feedback compared to my G920. The centering force on the desktop is excactly the same as it should, as the motors are the same, but in-game the G923 appears to only have 40 of the force of the G920. I have a support case open with Logitech, and they just suggests that something is wrong with my wheel. So thank you for sharing your experience.
I have the exact same problem. My G920's power supply died in a month and a half and i replaced it with the G923. It's extremely weak compared to the G920 and older games like PC1 basically have no FFB. I'll have to keep it though cause i don't want to mess with the store and warranty again.
As someone who has never owned a racing wheel controller, I have a question. I was considering getting a G923 for Gran Turismo 7, figured I might as well go all out and go for the full experience. I also have an Xbox Series X and have Forza Horizon 4 and Forza 7, so was wondering if I purchase the G923 if there was a way to make it work with the Series X, so that I don't have to buy 2 different wheels and pedals. I know they make adapters that let you use PS5 controllers with Xbox controllers and vice versa, just didn't know if these would work with steering wheels or not
@@OCRacing Well technically you're right, but upon researching, there's a device called a Drive Hub that will let you use it on both consoles. It's about $100 so it's not cheap but it's cheaper than spending another $400 on another wheel
Thrustmaster 300 RS is same price basically. Don‘t know if it‘s any good, I own the G29. But I recommend you to save a bit longer and then buy the Fanatech CSL Elite (F1 Edition)
@@Max-hq4uo I did own the T300 and it was great for that price point. I upgraded after a year to a CSW v2,5 but I had a lot of fun with the T300 so I recommend it.
Coming from a longtime G29 user, I was initially excited when the G923 was announced. I was disappointed with the price and that it was still a gear-driven wheelbase. For that price point, upgrading to one of the Thustmaster TMX wheelbases would be better. I opted to go even better and got a Fanatec CSW 2.5 and CSL Elite load cell pedals. If Logitech would take the leap and start making belt-driven wheels and actual load cell pedals, I would be interested.
@@JCDagz the jump must be so big for you! The only thing that bugged me with the t300 was the notchiness which the CSW doesn't have so that was like pretty much the only reason why I upgraded, so yeah. The jump from a g29 to the CSW must be astronomical
These budget wheels are only a compelling alternative to Fanatec when they are, in fact, budget. For $400 you might as well save a little more and get a CSL Elite, which will out class the Logitech/Thrustmaster wheels easily.
Bruh, damn boy why dont me just buy a used car instead of spending 2000$ on racing setup and even more on pc setup. For price range of 4-5k you can get an used E30 or Subaru Wrx Sti.
the thing is that people who play games like f1 would spend a little more but the people who buy these $400 just want a wheel that has peddles and wheel that has feedback and shifter. they play games like gta5
Csl elite is discontinued by fanatec meaning you have to buy it used. From the prices I see online on all sites, they still go for around the same price as retail even though they are clearly used. I’d say that if you have a brand new csl elite still in box, you might even be able to sell it for more than retail price
I like the wheel, I’ve had it since Christmas. But just one question. When I plug it in and it registers. I see the lights come on above the logi logo. But then they turn off. U know how to keep em on?
Those are the rev indicators, thus they only light up when you’re supposed to upshift in game. I don’t think there’s a way to keep them permanently turned on.
When my last G920 broke, I upgraded to the G923. It felt like the force feedback was way too light for me. The pedal was good though. I ended up returning the G923 and swapping it for the G29, and then swapped out the spring on the brake pedal to mimick the G923
@@OCRacing it's been great, I wish the spring was a little stronger but it's about the same strength as the 923. Easy to install and well worth it I'd say
Need help please! For some reason it looses the Trueforce feature after I restart the PS5, and can only work after I have connected to the PC app. If I leave my PS5 open all day, it wiill work straight, but once the PS5 is closed and restarted, its the same story over again!
I do not fully agree that it is of low quality or ffb is too weak. I had a G920 and I always had to lower the strength of the ffb because it was a fight with the steering wheel instead of the pleasure of the game. Let's leave such forces to professionals in real cars. Quality in Logitech better than in Thrustmaster, which looks like a Chinese patent.
I understand your issues but if you install Logitech g hub you have full fore feedback customization and at full power is hard for me to turn at 15 years old
I’m thinking about buying a G920 here soon. Would I be able to “fix” or modify the brake pedal to make it a bit softer like the updated pedals? Or would other pedal sets be compatible perhaps? Only other wheel I’ve ever had is a crap $80 Thrustmaster from Walmart lmao so I don’t really know much.
The re-iteration of the wheels from Logitech is a crappy marketing gimmick with a high price tag. I wish Logitech would actually try and make something with new hardware to compete with Thrustmaster etc.
Good to know! My g27 is still my trusty wheel. Was cheap and works well. Feels mediocre at best but it is what it is. Wish i could find a shifter with the buttons on it tho because the pedometer issue causes neutral bombs every couple minutes. A $60 cronusmaxx made it compatible with ps4 so its still my race pimp.
Logitech customers are very interesting.. It's like they swear by their products and wheels, but only until they try a Thurstmaster T300 or better. I used to be one of those people owning a G25, a few G27's, and the original G920, but after trying the others the blinders were off and I was made aware just how bad their wheels are. They have no business charging $400 bucks for that thing.
In the demo of the kiosk, it can be somewhere between one of those four games or I racing. I’m thinking that’s probably eye racing either now or is this just probably largitech’s demo videos that are not related to any of those games that are compatible with true force
Logitech wheels are toys. I upgraded to a Fanatec Csl elite. Everyone lies, it does make you fast and vastly improves experience. You will actually realise how trash the Logitech is once you go fanatec. Theres no comparison and comparisons shouldnt be made cause it's night and day
Yep, it's like the difference between listening to music on AM radio and listening on a good HiFi. Also, i had constant issues with the anti-overheat system reducing and switching off my FFB, even when I'd only been using the wheel for a few minutes. I suspect that was probably an issue with the bug ridden software (G-Hub / LGS) rather than with the wheel itself.
buying a new G923 makes no sense to me, but used logitech wheels are a good value in my opinion But i agree, i have a G27 and it really feels like a toy (but at least it has 3 pedals and a really plastic-y shifter)

Did you make the brake less stiff? If so, How?
I've been using this wheel for almost a year now, great for low budget beginners but be warned : this wheel is known to rattle a lot with some games and the left wheel motor starts squeaking after a few weeks/months.

@@buzzbuzzard3809 More torque=faster response. Even if you only want light resistance a higher torque wheel will still be better because it'll work faster. This is very noticeable in something like drifting, where you rely heavily on the wheels fast self steering to catch the skid.

@@DastardlyDago I get it. The CSL DD is better than the CSL Elite, that’s clear, the reviews compare the 5nm version to the DD1 and other similar wheels, not any belt driver wheel (with the CSL Elite already being superior to Thrustmaster’s offerings).
Imo you should’ve got the g929. Better for the mobey
Also stop playing The Crew 2 it's one of the worst games ever made. Try Forza Horizon 5...
You can also play the crew2. With this wheel i have found. All games really react differently, it's still a blast using it.
i play g923 with most games but not crew 2 its not playable i think.
I got a G92 without the trueforce for 300 USD. As a beginner wheel I'm totally satisfied with learning on it as a first wheel.
Where!

I had the G29 which was a great starter wheel and it was well priced as it was usually on sale. I then recently moved to the Thrustmaster T300 RS with the TLC pedal set which was a huge jump up in performance...Still for beginners and those on a budget, get the older G29 unless the G923 comes down in price significantly though worth spending just a tad more on the T300Rs which is just a lot better.
a tad more always seems like twice the amount.
I need one for ps5 I have $250-$350 to spend
Just an FYI: last month Codemaster released what they have called the final patch for Dirt Rally 2.0 and they added Trueforce in that patch. Also for the PS4 owners GTS supports Trueforce.
Guess I’ll keep my G29 for a while. Great video, changed my mind about a possible “upgrade”. And thanks again for showing up at my video. Cheers, mate! 🏁
If you happen to upgrade, go for the t300rs. I doubt logitech is releasing a new wheel in the near future.
@@xcake2652 wish I could. Thrusmaster support here in Brazil is difficult. I’m not in a position right now to afford any financial mistakes. What attracted me to Logitech was: entry level, reliability and full company support here in Brazil. But I’m going to buy a T300RS GT Edition eventually. I’m itching for it.
@@yourbraziliansimracer817 Damn, thats sad. I had very bad experiences personally with the G29, none with the T300RS. Obv if there is horrible customer service then that is kinda a dealbreaker. Only thing i was afraid of were the power issues, the cooling issues have been fixed in the t300. But no issues yet, have had t300 for 2 months now👍
Omg no TRUE FORCE on the most popular titles is the biggest let down for me... I hope when GTA7 Drops they have it because I'll be on that game every day for the next year as I pretend to be Luis Hamilton shifting my azz off . Great vid 💯 Top quality 👌
I'm new to modern Sim racing purchases, and this video has been helpful.
Thanks.
Last wheel I owned was ps2
And thank you for watching :)
@@Jordan-nt4tl what happened?
I still haven't felt there to be a big enough difference between the wheels to upgrade past my G27. i don't play competitive and after using my friends G29. I couldn't feel a big enough difference to upgrade, glad to know I will still be holding on to my G27 until I can upgrade to a Thrustmaster setup.
I had both, and it’s completely with it in my opinion
something else I should add with the Logitech wheels.
I know they make adapters that let you use PS5 controllers with Xbox controllers and vice versa, just didn't know if these would work with steering wheels or not
Unfortunately not. The G923 would either work for Xbox or PlayStation depending on the one you buy. Not both.
@@OCRacing Well technically you're right, but upon researching, there's a device called a Drive Hub that will let you use it on both consoles. It's about $100 so it's not cheap but it's cheaper than spending another $400 on another wheel
Can you recommend any better wheel for that price?
Thrustmaster 300 RS is same price basically. Don‘t know if it‘s any good, I own the G29. But I recommend you to save a bit longer and then buy the Fanatech CSL Elite (F1 Edition)
@@Max-hq4uo I did own the T300 and it was great for that price point. I upgraded after a year to a CSW v2,5 but I had a lot of fun with the T300 so I recommend it.
Thrustmaster TX
Thanks for actually beating honest. I returned it after I realized my 2006 drive force gt was the same damn thing I was amazed
@@krg8590 so everyone that buys a G923 plays GTA now? Such an idiotic comment. I mean this ranks in my top 5 most idiotic comments that I have seen.
@@tmane.7848 lmao sorry i didnt knew that gta doesnt support steering wheel at that time lmao mybad😅
Csl elite is discontinued by fanatec meaning you have to buy it used. From the prices I see online on all sites, they still go for around the same price as retail even though they are clearly used. I’d say that if you have a brand new csl elite still in box, you might even be able to sell it for more than retail price
Thanks for helping me decide on what to do :) have a great holiday season be safe stay healthy
You as well! Thanks for watching :)
I like the wheel, I’ve had it since Christmas. But just one question. When I plug it in and it registers. I see the lights come on above the logi logo. But then they turn off. U know how to keep em on?
Those are the rev indicators, thus they only light up when you’re supposed to upshift in game. I don’t think there’s a way to keep them permanently turned on.
you can use FanaLEDs to mess around with the rev indicators, and even change their function

When my last G920 broke, I upgraded to the G923. It felt like the force feedback was way too light for me. The pedal was good though. I ended up returning the G923 and swapping it for the G29, and then swapped out the spring on the brake pedal to mimick the G923
I’ve heard that’s a popular mod. How’s it worked out for you?

Need help please! Trueforce on the G923 is ONLY recognized on my PS5 after I had connected it to the PC app. Once I turn off my PS5, and restart it to play GT7, it will again only recognize Trueforce after I run it through the PC app first. For some reason it looses the Trueforce feature after I restart the PS5, and can only work after I have connected to the PC app. If I leave my PS5 open all day, it wiill work straight, but once the PS5 is closed and restarted, its the same story over again!
Spot on review. I felt exactly the same.
😬😬😬 that f1 wheel rotation tho... might wanna fix that

At this price range you''d better go with a t300 ...
Only other wheel I’ve ever had is a crap $80 Thrustmaster from Walmart lmao so I don’t really know much.
you can swap springs in the brakes
For about $700 you can get the Fanatec csl dd, a wheel and a pedal set. Trust me just get that.

Don't need to upgrade to this crap, stick with your G27 and go with something else entirely in the future
Maybe turn up your force feedback setting? This thing rips my arm off with it maxed out.

Hey guys, wondering if the G923 is worth picking up with the shifter for around $340 usd or should I purchase the T150 pro for about $300usd
Logitech should just build a consumer friendly and market competitive belt drive already
Logitech aren't completely focused/dedicated to sim gear like companies such as Thrustmaster and Fanatec, therefore a new wheel is kinda unlikely
F1 2020? More like Bus Simulator 2020.
Good content bro keep it up
Logitech customers are very interesting..
I’m thinking that’s probably eye racing either now or is this just probably largitech’s demo videos that are not related to any of those games that are compatible with true force
instal g hub, for fead back
Would you recommend this wheel used for 160$? Basically same price than what g29 sells

I suspect that was probably an issue with the bug ridden software (G-Hub / LGS) rather than with the wheel itself.
buying a new G923 makes no sense to me, but used logitech wheels are a good value in my opinion
But i agree, i have a G27 and it really feels like a toy (but at least it has 3 pedals and a really plastic-y shifter)
But do you think it is a solid option for a first wheel?
