Great to see a review that isn’t just a rant about the price and goes into detail about the changes. I especially appreciated the advice on adjustments you can make on how Truforce responds to game audio. I bought one in advance of my XBox Series X. I’m sure its going to be good enough for using in between driving my real cars.
I’ve been through 2 g29 wheels and both of them had bad rotary encoders but I had never heard of anyone else having an issue. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has had issue with them
you sir, are the pinnacle of true journalism. thank you for taking the time and effort to really put out a fair and balanced review based on EXPERIENCE, something money can never buy!
Thanks kouki! Yeah it’s never going to get the same views as a day 1 review but hopefully the content will help people who genuinely are considering buying one rather than just informing the masses. Thanks for the comment!
@@LaurenceDusoswa this helped me figure out whether or not upgrade my g27 to the new one. Ive done some simple mods to mine and helped the pedals feel much better with some progressive springs i added. Plus your LUT file guide for AC really helped make my g27 feel precise. Too bad they didnt include the shifter in the bundle. That was a bad move by logitech especially while charging more than what they used to for more value.
Hahaha thanks :) I’m not chasing big numbers. I appreciate that my videos give value to those who watch them so that’s all that really matters :) the numbers will come :)
I own a g920 and looked forward to the new model. Very disappointing that they didn't add support for a handbrake. I already upgraded the springs in my pedals so overall I'll have to move up to a Fanatec.
im pretty suprised that logitech gave a free wheel for review to a small youtuber tho i tought you would have like 100k subs because of ur editing and stuff hope u get viral some day bud :)
i purchessed this wheel new, its in the box it came in stored because of compatabilty issues back then, the wheel worked well with some of my games including drifting, sadly not all my sim games worked so i upgraded to csl elite, now its a spare wheel i will use if my csl breaks.
Wow this is probably one of the most thorough reviews I've seen on this wheel! You explained true force better than most other channels! Currently this and the tmx pro are both $250 on US amazon. At this price point, what are the pros and cons of each wheel and which would you recommend and why? I'd love to see a review from you comparing the two!
Thanks for the feedback :) I haven’t spent time recently with the tmx and I’ve never had one for review so I don’t feel like my opinion carries much weight. The Logitech pedals are very good for the price point. The tmx uses belts as well as gears and is less noisy than the Logitech. I would still go with the Logitech but again, that’s just a high level opinion and the lack of a clutch on the tmx is a deal breaker for me. When it comes to the t300, the ffb is far better than the g923 but the t3pa pedals aren’t as good as the g923 pedals.
@@LaurenceDusoswa thanks for replying! I forgot to mention that the tmx pro comes with the tp3a pedals. I've heard that those are slightly better both in feel and control considering the fact that the tp3a is 10 bit (giving you more resolution when applying the pedals) do you know if logitech g923 pedals are still 8bit? My main hesitations with the logitech are 1) loud clunkiness and notchiness might sound and feel too much like a toy, taking away from the immersion/ reduce the feel and your ability to control the car. I've driven my friends tmx wheel (15-20 mins so not that long) and I worry that the "smoothness" is something I'll miss / greatly notice by going with gear driven wheels. I guess I'm looking for something that has quick feed back, and something that I can use and immediately feel "yes this feels like a real car" kind of experience... Also I'm looking to use this with assetto corsa, project cars 2, and dirt rally so I don't know if they can take advantage of "true force" yet This was kind of alot, thanks in advance 😅
Perfect for the casual slim racer though as I did if you not in the need for the latest and best ffb then just get the 920 or 29 still perfectly fine and should be some price drops
Thanks for the additional information! i just bought one and i waiting for it to arrive, im really happy with all the features and the build quality in general. The trustmaster Tr300 here in argentina cost almost the double of a logitech g923+ shifter, so it was really out of my budget, but im happy that the wheel is good enough for the use im wanting to give it.
You situation are not far from Brazil, thrustmaster here is also 2x the price, I boght the G923, waiting for it to arrive too. Did you liked your G923, after 2 months ? Be sincere please
@@raf.nogueira yes I really liked it, it gives very good information, the feedback is good, and feels smooth. In some games like Forza horizon 4, it's not that good. But in proyect cars 2 and grid (2019) feels incredible, it's really enjoyable.
Just bought the G923 and it will be my first wheel I have ever used for racing games. I am super excited to try it out as I love playing Dirt 4/Rally, Truck Sim, and want to check out iracing and GT Sport. I will be using this between my PS5 and custom PC with a 3080, 10850k.
@@LaurenceDusoswa Loving it!! So glad I did not spend the extra money on a fanatec DD. I am more than satisfied as a novice racer. Exceeded my expectations. A lot of youtubers had me convinced I needed belt or DD, but the G923 is more than adequate for my needs. Great entry point.
This review helped me decide If I should invest in Thrustmasters eco system or go with the good ol Logitech Wheel , and I just got a great bundle . A G923 with the H-Shifter , a Handbrake and a Wheelstand for 400$ . Everything with original packaging and receipts , bought 2 months ago . My first wheel was a G27 and It Made me Fell in love with SimRacing and SimDrifting . Can’t wait to get the stuff delivered and hop on Assetto Corsa again :)
It's a tough choice, yeah :) Whichever one you choose you will be able to enjoy sim racing again :) If you loved your G27, the G920 is just like an upgraded version.
ngl all the review got me leaning towards the t150 pro since the t300rs gt literally out of stock everywhere in my place but all the random reliability issues of the thrust master and came across a g923 deals without shifter for 340 definitely got me rethink of my decision
I can't see anyone being disappointed with this wheelbase and pedals to be honest. It's a great, honest, first setup and can serve you for many many years.
@@LaurenceDusoswa and funny enough the prices for g29 without shifter in where I lived was literally 25 cheaper than the g923 without shifter which makes the price difference debates became invalid
after using it for about a week i love this wheel but i wouldnt spend 400 on it. i got mine for about the same price as the g29 is going for so imo 100 percent worth it
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I feel similar to a large extent. But the dual clutch and the better brake might sway me. Realistically I’d buy a second hand, but better setup.
Still using the same G27 iv'e used for a decade, looking for an upgrade, fanatec is to expensive for belt drive, and most direct drive is way to expensive. Time for logitech to produce a direct drive wheel, or at least a capable belt drive wheel.
well, after being bored with all other genres of games, i ended up ordering a g923, next level react gt lite cockpit and logitech shifter. i sense myself going down a rabbit hole lol. thanks for the honest review. i'm sure i'll be happy as this is my first setup
Just picked one up in a Black Friday deal for £260 (and the gear shifter for £30), seems much better value than when this first came out. Looking forward to trying it out!
I recently got mine new for $300 off of someone who just didn't want it after getting it as a gift. I'm pretty happy. I can resell it later for near the same price for when I'm ready for a DD rig
I've been thinking that Logitech should up their game in simulation peripherals, especially sim-racing. Maybe make a Pro Series Driving Force wheel with swapable steering wheels, belt driven, and some add ons like handbrake.
So I went to buy the G29 but where I live, it was out of stock but the store said that I could get the G923 for the same price in a month. So basically I'm paying less for more😂.
@@Pulsed101 Well it turns out the G923 was out of stock just as the G29 came in stock. But I can still give you my opinion because they are practically the same without a close look. Wheel feels different and this first time I used a force feedback wheel so I was 7-8 seconds slower because I was scared that my arms would rip off my shoulders. But then after a couple of laps and races, I was in fact 4 seconds faster than on controller. The leather on the G29 feels better than the wheel in my car. The brake was not so good I kept going into the wall because I wasn't pressing hard enough but then after that I kept locking up because I was braking too much. Now I'm fine with the wheel.
torn between buying this and thrustmaster tx leather edition, this wheel is good, but thrustmaster feels more stable and more better feedback, and also features addon wheels, primarily for me it would be the open wheel as i play f1 mostly. neverthless cannot wait to get a wheel start racing sim, spent too much time racing with a controller.
Anyone think the G29 pedals are better with a rig though? Because you'll be able to press as hard as you want, as intended without the pedal base slipping across the floor? If I'm correct, the reason for the progressive spring in the brake pedal this time round was due to the consumer feedback from the G29 brake rubber stop pedal. Being the pedal base slipping across floors as a result of having to involve more pressure when applying the brake, due to the rubber stop (which I think with a rig it gives a more realistic breaking experience my theory is) in the G29 model. The progressive spring with the new model just provides a lighter resistance as I can only guess statistically most users have the pedal bases on their floors which means less chance of the pedal base sliding or moving across the floor or carpet or whatever, maybe? Therefore, as I have a rig to securely bolt the pedal base to, I propose maybe using the G29 pedal set with the G923 wheel for a more optimum experience if you have a rig ? Or do you think the progressive spring is just simply better, thoughts please?
@@LaurenceDusoswa @A Tribe Called Cars Cool, I just brought the G923 so shall happily embrace the progressive spring version, in good haste kind sir as well I may add! Although I would love the thrustmaster TG 2, but it's slightly more than double the price of the G923. But I'm just a bin man budget sim racer anyway, when compared to today's standards.
I was dealing with the same drivers issues in project cars 2 this weekend. No matter what I did - I could never get the calibrate wheel function to work. I tried a bunch of stuff with no good results. Uninstalled ghub, instaled older versions of it. Unplugged and deleted devices out of registry, rebooted, plugged devices back in, etc. Maybe I didn't find the magic order of operations required to make this work. I installed the AMS2 demo, same deal. Also same engine and I guess same devs? I think I know where the problem lies....
I just ordered it right know, i love logitech and i had the old G25 for over 10 years without any problems. So it´s Logitech for me! I just can´t afford their top sim model, I would SO MUCH love that :(
Amazing video. Bought the G923 new for 270usd, I have no idea how. The store must've screwed up the price and perhaps wanted to drop the price on the G29 instead... Who knows.
Great review mate! IMHO, i was hoping the 923 would be a loadcell brake, its a $2 part, every other G series wheel has an aftermarket loadcell, its high time this was factory-supplied. I was curious if they were going to belt drive the G next wheel, but, not to be. And a magnet paddle-shift bracket, simple aftermarket add-ons, from the factory would be fantastic and little effect to the price point, yet a step towards adding better feel. If those few things were in it, it would easily justify the price point hke. That being said, its a step up, and not backwards, so there's that. Is it enough to replace my G920 for competition use? not really.
100% correct on all points dude. It would be relatively simple for sure. I just hope that they become a bit more active in sim racing. Surely they have to be working on other sim products too.
@@LaurenceDusoswa Agreed mate, however, thinking about it, you can't really put a loadcell in a set of pedals, mostly designed to fit under a drivers desk, lounge room, as in, you cant put 60kg of foot pressure in a set of pedals not bolted down in a rig, so i guess, there's that, being their target market. In saying that, I've not used the last 2 sets of logi pedals as i run aftermarket ones, but have enjoyed their lineage of racing wheels for ther relative quality and price point leather rims, decent amount of buttons, metal wheel rim, goof stock mountings, easy mode setup, and across the board compatibility with various titles. but, hall effect sensors, again, just little quality parts make a minimal price point, or at least, relevant to its new price point. As you mentioned, Logi could easily make a handbrake for the rally/drift guys too, as the shifter example sets. I'm really impressed you gave an honest drive of this wheel and pedals and gave a good relative review compared to your other higher-end spec kit. I'd like to think they should take a look at what existing logi sim drivers are cheaply adding to their wheels and make that factory parts, and even at this new price point, makes it easily worth it. even if logi themselves made these things as standalone option addon products, as higher-end wheels and pedals sets do. Again, great review mate! thumbs up. :-)
Thanks for the detailed feedback man! I think that all sim racing equipment deserves celebration. In fact, lower end gear usually has a bigger impact on people than high end gear. I want this channel to be inclusive. If I had more time and space I’d have a console setup too
@@LaurenceDusoswa Oh For sure mate!. Consoles do have a valid place in the culture of racing games, even if its mario kart, we all know what that is, and usually in casual conversations you'll always find someone who knows what gran turismo or forza is, so we can thank the console market for keeping sim racers supplied with sim gear. There was a time when it was only logi who were making sim gear (for consoles), and we didn't have all the fantastic options we do today. My first 'racing' console was a wheel sequential shifter and a pedal set plugged into a then current 'Colecovision' Console and the game 'Turbo', in the very, very 80's lol.
@@LaurenceDusoswa my first wheel was an 80 dollar one with 270° of rotation, and I credit that with being the reason I've been looking into a direct drive as soon as I can afford it, so you're spot on
Logitech is of great quality compared to others (hence the price forentrylevel gear, it's why we all MOD them when we start out lol, ) I've still got my old wheel from 2006 driving force wheel, they last for ever I also kept my g920 as if my TS XW plays up I know I've always got a good back up option that will always work!
Hey Laurence, thanks for the review! Do you have any noise issues with TrueForce enabled games? This is my first wheel set after almost 15 years - I'm basically a noob on newer generation models. I know geared wheels make noise but I have makes so much noise that it is almost impossible to play during night. Is this normal? I didn't notice it first because I was playing with headphones on.
It can make lots of noise yeah. What I used to do is turn down the kerb effects as they made the most noise. If you want a quieter wheel, you need something that’s not gear driven :(
I have the Logitech G923 and I have been having problems using it with different games which are supposedly supported. I made it work with Dirt Rally, but I haven't had any luck with Forza Horizon 3 and 4. I am about to install F1 2019, and I hope to have better luck.
I still don't get why don't they release a new shifter with a sequential mode, like on the G25... I bought my G29 set with the shifter for ~200-220€ on sale. I have plans to upgrade, but it will be a gear driven system.
@@LaurenceDusoswa Also not in load cell or belt driven wheels, they only do minimal changes on their entry level wheel. There is no upgrade path on Logitech unfortunately. Their device is reliable, I would love to see more advanced simracing stuff from them.
In project cars 2 on the ps4 it recognises the G923 wheel as the G29. Is there away around this? Also which is the better buy the G923 or the Thrustmaster T300 Rs GT? Great extended review.
Best review. Watched a lot of videos on this steering wheel and glad to finally come across someone who actually used it and gave in depth breakdown. Hearing how Logitech treated you really helped to show that Logitech are serious about their wheels and what sim racers think. Really exciting for the future. I am now sold on this steering wheel as my future 1st sim steering wheel thanks to you 😊😊 Now to save up😅
Yeah it was a very tempting review to release too early but I learned about things that other reviewers didn’t pick up on and got to use it and depend on it for my races so I’m very happy overall. Enjoy the wheel when you get it! Very exciting. I remember my first wheel.
Great review, clear, conscisce and answered my questions as virtually no one did a long term test on this. The launch price in the uk was £350 but has now reduced to £260. At this lower price point do you think this is a good first time entry level wheel and worth it over the g29 which is currently £180? I was thinking of combining this with the playseat challenge foldable cockpit. Thanks again for the great content.
Excellent choice. Yeah longer term reviews are important to me. You can’t get to know a product if you use it for a short period of time or in abnormal conditions. Thanks for the comment!
Great review and would like to pick this up on a Black Friday sale. Logitech needs to make more leap in their next model to compete with Thrustmaster and Fanatec. Good entry level wheel but that’s. Also would love to see a handbrake but Logitech.
Greetings, thank you for the great review. As far as I can understand, if I buy this driving wheel, its recommended to upgrade the firmware at the first moment right? Can I upgrade the firmware straight from an xbox series or do I need to plug it on a PC with windows just for the upgrade? Do I need to have a windows lying around for any additional tweaking? Thank you!
Hey man great review gonna be picking up one of there soon could you do me a favour though what handbrake are you using as I had one picked for the g920 but can't seen to find one for the g923
Great review :-). Did you try it/hear anything about it with Automobilista 2? It’s not on Logitech’s website 8 month’s after AM2 was released, and it’s a game i’d like to start playing more. Thanks.
Excellent and very thorough review, a lot of people will appreciate bringing up the rotary encoder. Overall logitech really put their soul into it, proper brake spring and faster ffb motors are definitely something which previous wheels lacked. G923 will definitely take small bites at the T300 but ONLY if the price drops...
ah that is the terminology I was trying to think of. Arcade use compared to sim. I think I am looking more for arcade use, playing less complicated racing games like dirt 5. Thinking the T300 rs gt is a good spot.
I am about to buy one wheel next week... Since the T3000 is very hard to find, I am hesitating between the G923 and the TMX pro, I know most say the TMX pro is better than the G920-29 but what about the G923? And also I heard many complain about the TMX durability
Hey, sorry, only discovered your channel and this video now. Would you recommend this wheel as an entry level? I have never had a sim wheel before so if I buy this, it would be my first. I was looking at the thrustmaster T300 gt but can't find any stock, so this is the only one left price wise. Thanks for the great content as well
You’re very welcome. No need to apologise :) I like when people find/subscribe AFTER I’ve given them some value rather than just getting loads of subs from people who don’t care about the content ;) I definitely highly recommend the Logitech products. Pricing is somewhat high but Logitech wheel and pedals sets are a solid investment.
@@LaurenceDusoswa Hahah thanks for the quick response and definitely going to sub. Thanks for the advice. Will definitely go for it then. Will maybe upgrade to belt driven in year or so when they are more available. Thanks a lot, really appreciate it.
@@LaurenceDusoswa ohhh noo.. I'm going to return the steering wheel as I have no clue why some of the buttons aren't working.. I'm going to opt for the g920 instead
@@LaurenceDusoswa yes.. Funny part was.. I couldn't use the 'return' key for anything.. Neither could I use the 'd pad left and right'... Neither could I use the lsb and rsb... So I couldn't really assign my horn anywhere.. As there were other buttons which had to be assigned as a priority and they took up all the available buttons..
Man im hearing so much mixed reviews about the logitech wheels, some saying they break within a few months and others saying they last for more than 5 years
I have both the G29 and G923, its $15 for the same Brake Spring to make the G29 Pedals same as G923 Not enough Games support TrueForce properly to justify the price difference
Crazy how in this video he talks about how bad the price is and the competition is laughing. TM had a similar launch to the T248. Today I bought a G923 on eBay for $300. Which is about the average price of a used G29. And $200 less than the T300.
I'm done with Logitech myself. Started with a G25. Arguably their best iteration of the series, no real competition at the time. Gearbox broke quickly (but fixable). Died a noble death after ~7 years of use (lobsided steering thing and pedals spike...despite cleaning, the pedals ''broke'' after a day of use at best). Bought a G27. At the same time G910 keyboard, G502 mouse and G933 headset (back to those at end of post). G27 had pedal spike very early on and required cleaning every week (despite keeping them well covered). Wheel died starting with going lobsided then eventually stopped functioning alltogether. It lasted just over 2 years. Bought a G29. At least my G27 shifter worked (until that as good as died by not registering shifts). I actually liked the rubber thing in the pedals, of course nowhere near as good as load cells but much better than their old pedals. Sadly, the wheel lost it's centering and it was a few degrees off center after about a year of use. G933 started creaking after a few weeks of use. 2 of my friends had exactly the same issue. I moved country so couldn't get it replaced. Both my friends' replacements started to creak quickly, again. G910 whilst very nice, some of the key thingies broke off (they really are very thin). Recently, some keys are either not functioning or they recognize way too many clicks. Annoying. G502 no problems with and will buy the wireless replacement when needed. I've got mechanical sympathy, so it's not due to hard use or hitting things. The G923 is a sham. A rebranded G29 with a better spring. Bought a T300 RS with rubber mod which will arrive next week. Only for temporary use due to country I live in for the time being has bad internet and everythiing needs to be imported.
@@LaurenceDusoswa It's just a shame that apart from layout and a bit of rubber, the wheel hasn't changed since the G25...which of course at the time was ''top level''. The fact that they took sequential mode away from the gears is beyond me. Thrustmaster is a good alternative (for similar money) these days I reckon, and actual upgrades is another great reason to go with TM.
I have had my g27 wheel and shifter since 2012 without any problems yet. I have the inverted load cell pedal set and haven't had a problem with those either
From my chat with Richard it seems like the iRacing settings being separated like a binary switch for Audio vs Physics isn't the final state. But was just that way for initial testing. ACC for instance apparently uses both the audio and physics and that's the more ideal implementation. I'm hoping this mid September update will both reveal the settings in the UI, and merge the two together. Possibly with adjustment for each. It's worth noting that the Audio TrueForce feature doesn't currently work with the new iRacing Audio engine. Only the old. That should be updated as well.
@@LaurenceDusoswa Cheers. Good video and information. Keep up the content and the views and subs will come! As I've only been Sim Racing with a wheel for about a year now it's good to see/hear more experienced racer's experiences and how much they align with my own. I've used higher end gear at trade shows and demo pods but haven't spent a lot of time with them. Especially not recently with the quarantine. I actually borrowed my coworker's old TM TX 458 to get have some comparison of a belt driven vs gear driven wheel. I'm actually currently writing/filming my own initial impressions video. Overall I mostly agree with what you've mentioned.
@@LaurenceDusoswa i have the g29, got it like a month ago and if the progressive spring is avalibe i wanna try it, but i really really like the rubber brakes on the g29, for rallying ita very good but for formula type of races well not so much but i can make sensitivity settings
Some companies do. But I usually keep it for reference or donate it to community members or real race car drivers when I’m done with it. I never sell it.
On pc, I would just buy the fanatec handbrake if you can afford it or the new VNM handbrake. On consoles, you’re out of luck unfortunately unless you do some clever wiring.
is this wheel really noisy as someone reports in reviews? Would you still advise to buy this over another entry level like thrustmaster T150, which seems far cheaper (170 vs 300€)?
@@LaurenceDusoswa i have t300 and g29, i think t300 has very elastic ffb and doesnt make much sense, the g29 provides good ffb for the important parts of the corners to ffb information to me that makes sense, i think with this g923 i could create some good ffb settings but im not planning on buying one at the moment
@@jamesi2018 that’s great info. Yeah I think the t300 is capable of stronger ffb than the Logitech wheels but I do prefer the Logitech wheels in general.
@@LaurenceDusoswa that belt becomes slack too easily, they really need to have better quality materials in the wheel. when i first got t300 it felt just as direct as the logitech except it had a little bit more fidelity. this is because the gears in g29 create a gap as they turn, i.e. a small gap between the rotar and gears but when at the edges of the wheel while turning there is no gap and therefore no deadzone. this trueforce likely overcomes that weakness. the t300 lost its fidelity within 30 minutes of use
I'm kinda new to sim racing but after reading they changed the brake, I went for the G923 instead of G29. Love it. Except for the noise... Wish I went with the T300 simply because of that.

I have one along with the pedal system, shifter, and stand for a setup. I use it for my PS5 to play GT:7 and Snow Runner and it’s DOPE!
Just discovered your channel while looking into getting this wheel and this was an amazing review you deserve a lot more credit
Hahaha thanks :) I’m not chasing big numbers. I appreciate that my videos give value to those who watch them so that’s all that really matters :) the numbers will come :)
After this video I ended up buying one thank you
I own a g920 and looked forward to the new model. Very disappointing that they didn't add support for a handbrake. I already upgraded the springs in my pedals so overall I'll have to move up to a Fanatec.
It’s a real pity we get forced out of the Logitech brand as almost everyone has fond memories of their g wheels.
im pretty suprised that logitech gave a free wheel for review to a small youtuber
tho i tought you would have like 100k subs because of ur editing and stuff
hope u get viral some day bud :)
You and me both. Although I do have to return it. But they took a risk on me which is really great to see.
i purchessed this wheel new, its in the box it came in stored because of compatabilty issues back then, the wheel worked well with some of my games including drifting, sadly not all my sim games worked so i upgraded to csl elite, now its a spare wheel i will use if my csl breaks.
It’s a nice spare to have 😅
Subbed to the channel due to the great, well presented review. If all your videos are like this, your channel deserves to grow fast.
Thank you kindly James. Apologies for my delayed response :)
My main hesitations with the logitech are
1) loud clunkiness and notchiness might sound and feel too much like a toy, taking away from the immersion/ reduce the feel and your ability to control the car.
Also I'm looking to use this with assetto corsa, project cars 2, and dirt rally so I don't know if they can take advantage of "true force" yet
This was kind of alot, thanks in advance 😅
Bought it and so far enjoying it. I am addicted to it now
Haha nice :) enjoy ❤️
I just bought a g293 as my first wheel I can’t wait to give it a go on my next day off from work
awesome!!!
@@LaurenceDusoswa your video was great to watch! Thank you
Perfect for the casual slim racer though as I did if you not in the need for the latest and best ffb then just get the 920 or 29 still perfectly fine and should be some price drops
Agreed. The previous g wheels are great value and lots of fun for all types of racing and simulation
Just ordered one, great review, thanks for making it.
Enjoy!!!
That's good news. enjoy
@@khalilveronessi4819 Thank you very much my friend 🙏🏻
Just bought the G923 and it will be my first wheel I have ever used for racing games. I am super excited to try it out as I love playing Dirt 4/Rally, Truck Sim, and want to check out iracing and GT Sport. I will be using this between my PS5 and custom PC with a 3080, 10850k.
sorry for the delayed response! How are you enjoying it so far?
I did the opposite 😳 I went with a t300 rs gt, upgradability was the decider for me, absolutely love it so far (:
Wat handbrake did u get

Brilliant, as usual, such clear concise information. Solid testing, covered everything brilliantly
Thank you good sir :) Cheers for taking the time to comment!
I was waiting to see a unbiased review on the G923, I have been interested in getting into racing sims!
Great! Welcome to the addiction :)
@@LaurenceDusoswa 1 question, how do you install it, do you plug it into the pc or is there bluetooth
ngl all the review got me leaning towards the t150 pro since the t300rs gt literally out of stock everywhere in my place but all the random reliability issues of the thrust master and came across a g923 deals without shifter for 340 definitely got me rethink of my decision
Wouldn’t that be amazing. I wonder if they ever will. Do they care enough about sim racing?
@@LaurenceDusoswa I hope so, the great thing with logitech is there durable reliable and work a treat. ;)
well, after being bored with all other genres of games, i ended up ordering a g923, next level react gt lite cockpit and logitech shifter. i sense myself going down a rabbit hole lol. thanks for the honest review. i'm sure i'll be happy as this is my first setup
Hahaha you’ll love it!
Just wait till you you strap some bass shakers to your chair !
Just picked one up in a Black Friday deal for £260 (and the gear shifter for £30), seems much better value than when this first came out. Looking forward to trying it out!
Epic! That’s far better value!
I recently got mine new for $300 off of someone who just didn't want it after getting it as a gift. I'm pretty happy. I can resell it later for near the same price for when I'm ready for a DD rig
Awesome!!
I got the ocd- That plastic film left on the center of the wheel drove me crazy
Hahaha that’s a mark of respect for Logitech who sent me this wheel. I want to return it to them as they gave it to me :)
Waiting for Logitech to build a direct drive, and a set of super rigid load cell pedals.
oh man imagine... I'd love if they did. Imagine what that would do to the DD market :o
And a handbrake add on
@@LaurenceDusoswa Nothing 😂
I've been thinking that Logitech should up their game in simulation peripherals, especially sim-racing. Maybe make a Pro Series Driving Force wheel with swapable steering wheels, belt driven, and some add ons like handbrake.
Yeah you're right. They really need to step up, otherwise they will become irrelevant soon
So I went to buy the G29 but where I live, it was out of stock but the store said that I could get the G923 for the same price in a month. So basically I'm paying less for more😂.
NICE!
What are your thoughts on the wheel?
@@Pulsed101 Well it turns out the G923 was out of stock just as the G29 came in stock. But I can still give you my opinion because they are practically the same without a close look. Wheel feels different and this first time I used a force feedback wheel so I was 7-8 seconds slower because I was scared that my arms would rip off my shoulders. But then after a couple of laps and races, I was in fact 4 seconds faster than on
controller. The leather on the G29 feels better than the wheel in my car. The brake was not so good
I kept going into the wall because I wasn't pressing hard enough but then after that I kept locking up because I was braking too much. Now I'm fine with the wheel.
@@alexandrinestephanus3486 Nice 🙂👍
torn between buying this and thrustmaster tx leather edition, this wheel is good, but thrustmaster feels more stable and more better feedback, and also features addon wheels, primarily for me it would be the open wheel as i play f1 mostly. neverthless cannot wait to get a wheel start racing sim, spent too much time racing with a controller.
Sounds like you want the thrustmaster :)
Just got this wheel for my XBOX Series X while playing Forza Horizon 4 and despite it’s steep price tag, it KICKS ASS!
It's a good piece of kit. I like it :)
yeah its good wheel but makes too much noise.
Really good stuff as always man!
Love the footage 😂
Hahaha that was some good racing!
Instant like for the Primera intro
Hahahaha it’s such a great mod ❤️
All pedals are better when they can’t move, and for me, a bit of progressive weight in the pedal is important
Not sure tbh :( sucks to hear you have issues
I just ordered it right know, i love logitech and i had the old G25 for over 10 years without any problems. So it´s Logitech for me! I just can´t afford their top sim model, I would SO MUCH love that :(
Yeah enjoy what you can afford! It’s a great setup still. I enjoyed it
Amazing video. Bought the G923 new for 270usd, I have no idea how. The store must've screwed up the price and perhaps wanted to drop the price on the G29 instead... Who knows.
Wow!!!! Nice 😍
congrats! well made video. subscribed .
Thanks so much ❤️
Great review mate!
In saying that, I've not used the last 2 sets of logi pedals as i run aftermarket ones, but have enjoyed their lineage of racing wheels for ther relative quality and price point
leather rims, decent amount of buttons, metal wheel rim, goof stock mountings, easy mode setup, and across the board compatibility with various titles.
but, hall effect sensors, again, just little quality parts make a minimal price point, or at least, relevant to its new price point.
If I had more time and space I’d have a console setup too
@@LaurenceDusoswa
Oh For sure mate!.
Very similar to my upgrade path :) I still have my g27 “just in case”
Best review i`ve seen so far
wow thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
You just made them one more sale. Thank you.
glad I gave you the info to make a decision! Thanks for the comment!
D-shaped wheels should be a second wheel type of thing. Odd they went with a d-shaped wheel when drifting is so popular.
Great video as usual.
Yeah it’s only a small D though… giggidy…
You need to manually assign controls in some games. Read all the comments in this video, I’m pretty sure Forza is covered.
@@LaurenceDusoswa Thanks a lot! I will scande comments to find a solution! Great day!
I still don't get why don't they release a new shifter with a sequential mode, like on the G25...
I bought my G29 set with the shifter for ~200-220€ on sale. I have plans to upgrade, but it will be a gear driven system.
They don’t seem to see value in sequential or handbrakes unfortunately...
If they're the same price, get the T300RS GT package ;) As for the ps4 PC2 issue, I'm not sure
I’m thinking on buying g923 so I’ve been watching a lot of video
It’s a good purchase in my opinion. It’s easy to sell too when you want to upgrade

You deserve my sub, great video :)
You’re very welcome. Comments like yours make the hard work worth it ❤️
Great review, clear, conscisce and answered my questions as virtually no one did a long term test on this.
I agree with everything you say
Greetings, thank you for the great review.
As far as I can understand, if I buy this driving wheel, its recommended to upgrade the firmware at the first moment right?
Can I upgrade the firmware straight from an xbox series or do I need to plug it on a PC with windows just for the upgrade?
Do I need to have a windows lying around for any additional tweaking?
Thank you!
Honestly I don’t know about console requirements for upgrading firmware. I presume you need to do it with a pc
Hey man great review gonna be picking up one of there soon could you do me a favour though what handbrake are you using as I had one picked for the g920 but can't seen to find one for the g923
I use a fanatec handbrake on PC, using the USB adapter. On console you can use a handbrake using a drivehub system i think
Thanks for your review
You’re very welcome :)
Great review :-). Did you try it/hear anything about it with Automobilista 2? It’s not on Logitech’s website 8 month’s after AM2 was released, and it’s a game i’d like to start playing more. Thanks.
I don’t know, to be honest! Sorry!
Thank you very much! I think it’s all pretty exciting and hope we don’t have to wait another 5 years for their next move 😂😂😂
ah that is the terminology I was trying to think of. Arcade use compared to sim. I think I am looking more for arcade use, playing less complicated racing games like dirt 5. Thinking the T300 rs gt is a good spot.
Both are fine for arcade stuff too. If you can afford the t300 Rs gt or if it’s a similar price, get the thrustmaster.
What settings are using in g hub for iracing and what ffb settings are you using in iracing, cheers
Hmmm it has been a while, to be honest. I cannot remember
The main problem is you can’t upgrade this well if I buy a thrust master I can always upgrade piece by piece
On PC you can upgrade whatever you like. Pedals, shifters, etc are all USB so you can mix and match whatever you like.
I am about to buy one wheel next week... Since the T3000 is very hard to find, I am hesitating between the G923 and the TMX pro, I know most say the TMX pro is better than the G920-29 but what about the G923? And also I heard many complain about the TMX durability
I don’t have experience with the TMX. You will be happy with the g923. It can be noisy, that’s all. But it will last forever :)
No need to apologise :) I like when people find/subscribe AFTER I’ve given them some value rather than just getting loads of subs from people who don’t care about the content ;)
I definitely highly recommend the Logitech products. Pricing is somewhat high but Logitech wheel and pedals sets are a solid investment.

there's a pinned comment which deals with such issues. Have you tried manually mapping the buttons?
@@LaurenceDusoswa yes. That seems to work with the actual driving part but i have to navigate menus with the keyboard and mouse
Is this going to eventually do the thing where when drifting the wheel gets unaligned all the time? Or my clutch making a terrible clicking noise.
Not sure! I never experienced those things
Man im hearing so much mixed reviews about the logitech wheels, some saying they break within a few months and others saying they last for more than 5 years
I have both the G29 and G923, its $15 for the same Brake Spring to make the G29 Pedals same as G923
Not enough Games support TrueForce properly to justify the price difference
Crazy how in this video he talks about how bad the price is and the competition is laughing. TM had a similar launch to the T248. Today I bought a G923 on eBay for $300. Which is about the average price of a used G29. And $200 less than the T300.
Yeah it seems it's pretty easy now to find a deal. When I released this video, the product was only just out and there were no bargains.
Sorry to hear that. You’ve had a tough run of luck!
Also great info. I saw an iracing ui change note about trueforce. I was already using the supported audio setting. Thanks for sharing!

Cheers.
Nice! Thanks for the great detailed comments!
I cant stress enough how big a change that spring upgrade is. If you have a previous wheel, get that progressive pitch spring.
Yeah it’s massive. I wonder if Logitech will be selling it on its own. It’s should slot straight into the older pedals
if you find a link for the spring will you share it?
Sure, but I’d be surprised if they will sell it on their own. Other companies may sell similar though
@@LaurenceDusoswa i have the g29, got it like a month ago and if the progressive spring is avalibe i wanna try it, but i really really like the rubber brakes on the g29, for rallying ita very good but for formula type of races well not so much but i can make sensitivity settings
1:06 when they send you stuff to promote, do they ask for it back? Just curious
Some companies do. But I usually keep it for reference or donate it to community members or real race car drivers when I’m done with it. I never sell it.
Do you think this would be a better upgrade from T150RS over a T300RS GT?
Personally, for me it was. But if the t300 is the same price, get the t300
What hand brake would you recommend to complement this steering wheel setup Thanks
On pc, I would just buy the fanatec handbrake if you can afford it or the new VNM handbrake. On consoles, you’re out of luck unfortunately unless you do some clever wiring.
Great review!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it
Great video👍
I wish i could find stock at a reasonable price where i live
Ah that’s a pity. Where do you live?
is this wheel really noisy as someone reports in reviews? Would you still advise to buy this over another entry level like thrustmaster T150, which seems far cheaper (170 vs 300€)?
It would be my personal choice, the Logitech. It is noisy though!
How were your lap times and competitive races compared to your DD wheel? Did you win with it?
Slightly slower with the g923 but that was a lack of familiarity. I got very dependent on the info that DD gives.
Hey i was thinking whats better the g932 g92 and trustmaster t300rtgs
The g932 is 294 the g92 is 249 and the t300rtgs is 369
Common question. Force feedback is better with the TM. It’s also quieter. If they’re they same price, buy the TM
Would you recommend this over the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT?
I never reviewed the t300 so can’t answer that unfortunately
i had a shot in a shop and it felt pretty real to me
Yep. It feels good. I really enjoy it
@@LaurenceDusoswa i have t300 and g29, i think t300 has very elastic ffb and doesnt make much sense, the g29 provides good ffb for the important parts of the corners to ffb information to me that makes sense, i think with this g923 i could create some good ffb settings but im not planning on buying one at the moment
It’s noisy yeah unfortunately :(
can you use the thrustmaster th8a shifter with this wheel? thanks.
On PC, yes. On consoles you would need to use a drivehub adapter I think
@@LaurenceDusoswa thank you.. i was almost going to pack it up and take it back to the store.. I hope i can find this adapter Cheers!
I actually did... i went Fanatec too much money but it was a good investment.
im buying one of these second hand tomorrow, I'm fucking excited to start playing some sims without a gamepad!
WOOOO!!!! They're a great wheelbase for sure
@@LaurenceDusoswa Unfortunately that seller never replied after his first reply. Had to settle for a g920 and shifter. More than happy
Can work with DRIVING FORCE SHIFTER?
Yes :) works perfectly with it
@@LaurenceDusoswa thanks!
Hello friend! I'm trying to use it in Win 8.1 but is not recognizable. Not in G.Hub nor in Gaming Software. In Device manager appears as an error of driver install. Anyway I search all the NET and trying diverse counsels found out-there but not solution for me. I can't play this thing. (I want to use it in American Truck Simulator. Seems this garbage is too complicated and far too expensive for what it is!!! I will send it back right now!!! Any counsel for me to buy another good simple Plug&Play wheel for my game, please???? (Euro Truck and American Truck Simulators).
I’m not sure to be honest :(
