I I hear you on the order of the drive modes but I do like the eco setting for long trips just to maximize mpg. Aesthetics/sound/performance are my favorites. The auto stop/start that has to be disabled EACH time you drive the car is my absolute most annoying feature.
Saying it only as motivation, I'm turning 26 in late January and just purchased a 2016 SVR. Worked my ass off, i'm paying for the whole thing, insurance, etc. You can do it! Mine is being delivered this Wednesday.
@evns7142 well done bro! How much did you pay for your insurance? I am currently in a position to buy one but whenever i do an insurance quote it doesnt come up with any (21)
So I think you’re misunderstanding dynamic mode. It’s not instant because it’s for planned spirited driving. For instant response which is what you seem to want, you just push the shifter over to sport mode. And that’s instant. JLR made no mistakes there. In addition the brake pedal is right where it should be I have this car 2018 and if the pedal were higher it clutters and slows spirited driving. Otherwise good video.
Maybe I wasn't clear in the video. It's not just the response, which btw is only gearbox - that does nothing for the throttle mapping. If I wanted a quick gear shift I'd use the paddles. It's having the ability to get the car to firm up the suspension, steering and throttle with a simple click, I've had this in M Cars. I just feel like it's a bit of a design flaw not having this as a one click switch - which they have changed on the new SV, by putting a button on the steering wheel. They've put a physical auto terrain button, then give a screen, but you can't click any modes on the screen with this auto terrain button down. Seems a bit odd to me and I can't figure out the reasoning. Brake pedal, it's just a personal positioning thing again not got this on my other cars - I always catch my feet on this pedal but perhaps it's just my feet/driving position in this car 🤣 Ultimately though, I was clutching at straws trying to come up with negatives because the car is fantastic. Glad you enjoyed though 👍
@@JayLScho If you get tuned staged one, it will be light years better in terms of response. In order to get a 'one click' to dynamic mode, set your lower screen to whatever 'car controls' is called so that shows all your available modes each time you get in. Now you have a one-step to dynamic mode, its not fancy like the SV or M cars but it does the job. IMO I wouldn't drive around in Auto its kinda dull and boring compared to even Comfort since its always thinking you are off-road or getting ready for different terrains.
Can't agree or disagree, never driven one. I bet it does handle better being a fair bit lighter though! Must say I prefer the RR for it's aesthetics (slightly biased) 😅
Guys.. my wife drives the Jag from 2020.. I bought the SVR 4 weeks ago.. the Jag is faster in turns on street… he is more a normal car than a SUV.. but.. with SVR I have more the Man Car than in a Jag.. I have more space for all equipment like bikes.. boards etc… and if you like go off-road… this are two different worlds.. so if you like the faster street car take the Jag… if you like a all in one included going offroad … SVR is the one and only pick for you..
Yeah there’s a good amount of horror stories and I had a engine management light appear a couple of months ago, turns out an exhaust o2 sensor had failed which is a common fault- the car didn’t go into limp though and it was replaced under warranty. Other than that, no issues at all. Can’t fault the service of JLR, but I do hope I don’t have to visit them again 🤣
Great video pal look forward to seeing more of the SVR videos
Thanks mate, appreciate it!
The quicksilver exhaust will impress u if u put them on
I FULLY agree with regards to the selection sequence. DRIVES ME NUTS! I just select dynamic on the screen. It's easier.
SVR got Best exhasut Acoustics

Yeah I forgot about the auto stop/start - incredibly annoying!
Glad to see someone else feel the drive modes are in the incorrect order too 😅
Dream car of mine 26 I live in Glasgow and by 35 I hope to own one the sound is like roaring thunder!
All the best mate, hope you achieve your goal - it's definitely achievable.

@@DrivenHard Yeah, just wish it had a physical dynamic button on the steering wheel like the new SV does.
Will look into the stage 1!
Yep, No.3 foot stuck under braker pedal. Done it yet again today !
Glad I’m not the only one!
What security would u get for the car? Ghost?
Yep get a ghost and faraday key case. Hidden tracker too.
The Jaguar F pace svr is a far better car in my opinion 😎

People always bash the reliability of JLR. What has your experience been like with the SVR?

use the damn touchscreen... for modes.. its not something you switch regularly anyway.. it doesnt annoy me one bit..
That doesn't work if the auto terrain is pressed, which I mentioned
I don’t know anyone who would use the screen for charging modes. There is a much easier and better feeling dial there for a reason lol
Great video, good luck for the future regarding the UA-cam channel, gave you a cheeky sub!
Thanks man, appreciate it!
