I home cook plant based meals for my 14 year old dog and she is super healthy for her age. We do a medical check up every year and never had a diet related issue. I think you should read the new studies and update your knowledge. I seriously expected more from you! I never give soy to my dog! My dog is 14 and has no obesity, arthritis, heart issues, diabetes or none of the causes of the death and most dogs. Old school vets and doctors always have a hard time with non traditional methods because they always go by what they were taught and that’s sad.

Me too, however my almost 5 y.o medium size mix is in the late stages of dialated cardiomyopathy. Vet thinks might be genetic. He was on a vegan grain free home cooked diet. Mostly tubers and legumes (green Peas, chick Peas and lentils) and raw veggies like zuchini carrots spinach parsley cucumber bell Peppers and also seeds like flax pumpkin and sunflower seeds (sprouted). I did not supplement with taurine carnitine or omegas bc i just didnt know about the possible importance of it. Had i known i would have supplemented from the beginning. Hes not responding to taurine carnitine and omega being supplemented now which might suggest its more of genetic causes. Its hard, when you cant reconcile feeding your dog other abused animals and then seeing them sick possibly bc of that...has anyone been through something similar? The amount of doubt what ifs and guilt is really taxing.

I have 3 dogs on a vegan diet for over 7 years now. Yearly bloodwork is always as the vet describes it: perfect. A combination of vegan quality dry food and human food. I’m a vegan who survived freaking Covid without getting sick. My entire family has all the vaccines and got covid. The reason why I introduced my dogs to a vegan diet is the fact that no vet could improve or help one of my dogs with his pancreatitis. The vegan diet has stopped his pancreas from getting inflamed. Doc you lost me when you said all vegans look pale and sick. 😂 I wish you could see us. We are healthy and happy. 😌 I’m 42 and look like in my early 30s.

@@VeterinarySecrets Please research doc! The longest living dog in a Guiness World Record ( for the longest time) was vegan from birth as raised by vegan parents. My 15 year old German shepherd has benefited hugely 10 years ago when I became vegan for ethical reasons and switched my dogs food for his health reasons. Never looked back, the best decision ever for myself and my dog. He is still very active, running every day, swimming and no health issues. My vet has confessed to me that in his 30 plus years of being a vet this was the first german shepherd that not only is 15 plus years old but NO Hip issues nor arthritis. Dogs are NOT carnivores but omnivores, and considering the absolute horrible quality of animal flesh that is in dog/cat food spiked with antibiotics, hormones, grow hormones, cut out tumours and other garbage your dog should not be consuming it at all. BTW your kitty is pretty overweight and that is not healthy for him:(

My dog had horrible skin issues. He's a 124 pound husky. He was getting pytopoint injections every 8 weeks. Antibiotics. Skin creams and every test you could give a dog. I took it in my own hands and switched to wild Earth dog food (vegan) and it cleared up all the scabs and itching. He lost weight and has more energy. I do put in chicken liver, beef liver, and chicken mixed in to his food. All organic.
My 2 other dogs don't have the allergies that he does they're also huskies.

I had two white rabbits as a teen. My brother had a Pit Bull/Saint Bernard mix
(I know???) We also had a rescued young red fox whose mother died after giving birth. They all had the most fun chasing each other around our big back yard. When the rabbits had enough of being chased they would hide under my dad's shed.
I still recall standing at our big dining room window watching and laughing when the rabbits decided to start chasing the dog and fox. When the dog and fox got tired of being chased, they would lay in a patch of dirt under a pine tree. Eventually it wasn't at all uncommon to look out the window and see the dog, fox and two white rabbits lying side by side panting heavily under the big pine tree.
My dad used to say that my mom could have single handedly screwed up the entire order of the Garden of Eden. I have a tuxedo cat who comes when I whistle for him. He does not respond to that "here kitty kitty" thing at all. I read an article in the news today about people teaching cows to poop only when using an indoor cow toilet. People in the comment section say they have healthy, happy long living dogs on vegan pet food. Nothing surprises me anymore. Nothing!!!

Anyway, my dogs would not and do not harm any LIVE chicken or lamb, they do bite and eat all sort of fruits and vagetables on the plants instead. maybe they are a bit far away from their ancestors, the wolves that are not strict carnivores themselves. Raw diet or lightly cooked meat diets are what dogs have been proven to live best on, if your dog has specific dietary needs or health issues I’m sure that a vet can tell you what the animal needs but no sane vet would tell you to have a vegan dog.

The advert first mentioned our pets 'carbon footprint', to play on our ethics, though not a mention of the carbon footprint from producing soy! Then they did a 'taste test' which could have been any old kibble...we just have their word it was their food, and anyway, a dog would usually choose a chocolate cake over meat, but we dont feed them that either.
Then they claimed it was endorsed by vets, and we all know that vets are being bribed with money to endorse all sorts of absurdness, from annual jabs, to vegan dog food.

The soy that you so deeply care about is fed mainly to pigs and chickens, so the enviromental impact of 1 kg of soy is nothing compare to 1 kg of pig flesh that used 10kg of soy to be produce. "What about soy" argument is actually a distraction so ignorant people believe eating animals has a smaller impact by avoiding the fact animals need to be fatten up with food, its propaganda. So if you actually cared about those things you would be vegan, because it has the lesser impact, you could eat 9kg of soy and it would still be less soy than the 1kg pig. If you want to be scared about the vegan lobby be my guest but I would be more of tyson, nestle and Danones lobbing, you know those Huge multinational companies that depend on us keep paying for animal products to keep their money... no, its probably the 3% vegans, don't look up.

If you are doing the raw fed and People started doing the same the prices of raw food would come up forcing everyone to look for a better option supply&demand. In that scenario we would have to either 1. Fed them vegan 2. go back to factory farming 3.lab grown meat (which it doesn't exist on the market, and the prices would have to go down by a lot, basically every human would need to be able to buy LGM before its on Pet food and even then it would be extreamly controversial to fed a dog A5)

Additionally, your sarcastic allegory about having dogs go out to hunt like wolves proves what exactly? Obviously, dogs are no longer wolves, but they're genetically not far off. Ergo, all dog breeds still retain the capacity to reproduce with wolves. It's undeniable that Dogs are close relatives to wolves so it makes sense OP would bring that up when explaining they are facultative carnivores. I don't know why that seems to bother you. Just compare our teeth for example. Humans are biologically designed to eat more plant matter than dogs/ wolves. Thus it is biologically logical that they cannot easily subsist on a vegan diet as humans can. 🙄Dogs evolved just like us, but they're still dogs not "us".

The moment you mentioned the "all pale looking vegan that has to take supplements, so that bloodlines are ok" I knew not to watch any of your biased broscience anymore😄
Thanks for disqualifying yourself before I had to watch too many of your videos.
