Thank you for posting! I appreciate the first hand current information. My Tronxy is on the way. First printer , choose this particular one because most all reviews seem to show a very capable unit out of box. Hope to share my experiences soon. Have a great day
You're most welcome. I would recommend joining the "Tronxy 3D Printer Official Group" on Facebook. Very helpful community there if you run into any issues. Good Luck! :)
I can add few ones which improved 20x the printer. Marlin custom firmware and a PTE metal plate with a magnetic sheet. First layers and adhesion are now superb, also the automatic levelling using the Marlin firmware is truly automatic. Also the custom firmware allows to override or customise parameters during the print.
These are great additions. I have heard much about using Marlin and how it improves things. When I have the time I'm going to also be switching over to Marlin and will create a video on how it works out. Thanks for the input 👍
I've just ordered a Tronxy but I can safely say from also having a Ender 3, the filament extruder is the best upgrade. The Ender 3 uses pretty much the same one that eventually snapped during a print
Hi mate, yeah bad extruders will cause all sorts of issues. Some have said that you get far better results from a geared Titan clone (as also suggested by Ciprian below). The ones I'm using work well and do seem to eradicate many of the issues I initially ran into with extrusion and is an easy swap.
Couple of questions What settings do you have for retraction And do you know how to do the E step I am getting loads of weding ??? Not too much help out there for this printer :(

Hi mate, to be honest I haven't played with carbon fibre filaments yet - so I wouldn't be able to recommend anything at this stage. But... I'm sure there will be many who can point you in the right direction over at the official Tronxy community group facebook.com/groups/201640394116441 lots of awesome and helpful people on there.
@@offsetmedia I bow actually been using it about a week the place version must say I like it as temps are round 200-230 I found my role best at 215 so no kneed for a full metle hotend been printing portent at my standers cura pla setting
Hi Amanda, aluminium is not magnetic under normal circumstances. But when heat is applied it goes through a subtle transformation that enables magnetic field to be present (paramagnetic material). This is why the sensor is more acurate when the bed is heated up as it detects this effect. This means that bed leveling is vastly improved when the bed is pre-heated. Adding the steel plate as I have done further encourages this as it has it's own weak magnetic field.
Why mess about with steel plates and what not when you can just ditch the poor escuse for a surface that comes stock and get yourself a PEI sheet that gves much better adhesion and works well with the inductive sensor? Also, the stock extruder is all metal too, but better go for the geared Titan clone: much better results and no more skipping and grinding. But the best thing you can do for your printer is install Marlin 2.0 It will transform your machine and give you proper mesh leveling not the pseudo levelling of the crappy original firmware.
Hi mate, yeah I have been considering shifting over to Marlin. It does seem that anyone who does this raves about the results and superior controls. To be honest I have stuck to the Tronxy firmware in order to see if I could make it work reliably with just hardware tweaks initially. I do think switching to Merlin now that I have learned much about these units will be the next set of upgrades I do. I'll likely post an update video about it soon. Cheers!

Do z offset fix and extruder calibration. Good other than that good machine.
I have that same bench and love the xy2 pro
It's a great little bench, the pull out draw is great for having the various tools and bits within hands reach. :)

@@jujucattys156 That's great news! I might look into carbon fiber filament myself. Thanks for the heads up.
