I have a 1991 SPG turbo that I have been slowly working on for 10 years ( because I keep it on the other side of the country). Have driven Saabs for 40 years. They are wonderful cars that do many things well.
This car is a solid restoration candidate. The paint, assuming it’s the original enamel it left the factory with, will buff out beautifully. If you were anywhere close to New England, I’d happily double your money back on this one and fix it up myself. Please feel free to reach out to me for tips and tricks, I’ve been working on these cars for nearly 30 years.
Hi Randy and Mike I think the Saab is a cool car I like the body style I feel it’s going to be a really cool car I enjoy you both doing a video you both will turn it into a nice vehicle enjoy your day Randy and Mike
Love those Saabs I almost bought a blue '90 900 a couple years ago! Glad you got this Mike and they are definitely worth something these days. I think you will get it running and can't wait for the next video!👍
Mike how about Sobb 900 for a name? I love SAABs, I currently own a yellow 2000 9-3 Viggen convertible. I ownedso manySAABs so far but none of that vinage yet. google the 1 million mile SAAB. If I had seen one like that in my area for that little money, it would've already been in my garage. I bet you that once you remove the tint, power wash it and polish it itwould look very decent. You'll haveto work on that interior too
Love it! "Kraken" was a Swedish creature from Northern and Swedish folklore, a kind of squid . This little Saab 900 could be nicknamed "The Kraken"? The 1985 MotorWeek review of the Saab 900 Turbo 16v: ua-cam.com/video/MOn9K8iXpLw/v-deo.htmlsi=krE_3z8qezr_Ck-O
@@MonkeyWrenchMike I had the exact Saab although a 5 speed. This among the many REAL Saabs I owned before GM. Good luck with your work on it! Wish I was there to help!
check this Mike; "1986-87 there were bad 'Ignition Amplifier Relays' in the fuse panel that would cause a no-start. Find the Service Bulletin on how to bypass. Connect the 12:00 o'clock terminal to the 3:00 terminal, I think....Best to check"
Always loved these. Too bad not a manual but considering the age and mileage relatively “clean.” How about call it the Kemo Saab-bee? On account of all the bees
Mike and Randy make a heck of a duo.
I commented a Hour before you basically saying that and for a heart AKA MWM stamp of approval
This is why I love the videos when the both of you in it cut ups
Love the old Saabs and Volvos of the 70's and 80's. Great car for you Mike to tinker on and make the old girl shine again.
Not a GM junk box. Raced em, loved them.
All Volvos and Saabs had to pass a moose crash test during development. There’s videos of it on UA-cam pretty interesting.

There are no Mooses in the Alps, and there are no Alps in Sweden 🤣, but your point is right though....
I'm looking forward to the next video!
I have always liked these Saabs.
They are kooky looking as Hell, but they are really cool.
Right on
Love your videos Mike. Saabs are always a treat.
Those cars are highly thought of. I had one last year and loved it. The hall sensors go in the distributor. Cool factor off the charts!! Mike
Thanks!!
Nice to see you and Randy in a video together. Had fun watching. 😎😎👍👍
These are an amazing car.
Built better than anything else.
Such a cool car,
can’t wait to see it all fixed up!
Bidding against each other??? The WIINER was the guy who lost.
So I’m actually the winner! 🥇
Haha!
More like a whiner 🥺🍼@@AutoAuctionRebuilds
😅😂😂
That's a proper Saab right there. That's the one you always would see passing you on the interstate, but Randy's too young to remember that. 😁
Mike! You bought it! How cool! Thank you for doing your part to save the classics! THIS IS WHY IVE SUBSCRIBED! AMAZING!
Thanks man!
Just sold a 1972 Saab 99E I owned for 42 years. Got $900 for it. Was gotten by a Saab collector. It had 129k on it.
U got robbed.
I'm 47 years old. you owned that car for 42 years?! did it run?
the saab had sat for 21 yrs. in shed. had new clutch installed. but not driven.

you 2 guys crack me up when doing collabs. It's always an adventure Mike. MORE!
Well this explains why Randy is posting reruns currently. Glad I follow you both!
You should have gotten Randy to play his Banjo for you
Check all fuses and relays. Clean contacts!
That's a GREAT deal. Thoe old Saabs run forever!
Saab are still making fighterjets, and submarines 👍
This will be a wonderful car when you are done with it Mike. Great looking car that needs to be saved.
MWM bought the Saab from Randy's vid nice!
Name it Bengt or Petter! Definitely following this one, such cool cars!
Thanks for reminding me about fire extinguisher safety week coming up.😂😂
These are cult cars. They are really good.
Had a 900 GM era but those older 900’s are 😎
It’s cute and Mike you are indeed the European Car Whisperer‼️
Now you need a Saab JS 39 fighter jet.
Yes!!!

Very cool. Thanks for the link!
Test drove one of these in the early 90’s. Turbo manual. I remember how fast it accelerated for that era. It was shockingly fast lol.
Yeeeeeeeeeees! As a owner of a Saab 900 Turbo I am so happy, that I see video from you or Randy with Saab🫡🙈Good luck with that turd
Please fix this car so much fun
A factory battery protector from the manifold
This brings back a lot of memories had a 1980s so 900 turbo. It used to breakdown every payday. But I love that car.
Randy always has Good Luck because Randy gives all his Bad Luck to Mike
I love this! It’s like watching 2 brothers, one who got a hoopty in a card game, and he’s convincing his brother to buy it for a great price.🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣
Mike that heat shield is standard fittment
Car haslots of potential.needs some tlc
Have 4 saabs in family inc.turbo x😊
Lol, with swedish eyes, it looks incedible good that saab.
Nice find!
My first car was a Saab 86 9000. I miss that car. Built like a tank with a turbo. Only wished it had the Saab center console ignition :(.
Great video
Thanks!
I loved these. They were extremely capable clownmobiles. When I describe driving them people wonder if I’m being serious when I say I enjoyed it.
El dúo dinámico en acción dos leyendas del mundo automotriz 👍
More like the Dangerous Duo! LOL 😆.
I want to see it working again!!
Good video 😀
Drove a saab turbo manual in the early '90s and it was fun. I can't remember if it was manual tho.
She deserves a good restoration job.
Ignition switch is a known problem with the saab, wear and tear from thousands of key cycles and heavy keychains.
How cool is that!
Not The Alps dude :D That's Switzerland.
This is a great project 👍
Saab is something that will get up in value, since there will be no more new ones. Engine is basicly a triumph engine
Hey Randy uncle Mike
Definitely a cool old car
Their is a Saab performance parts place in duniden fl. They have tones of Saabs old and new lots of part cars and race cars
For the folks at home BIG SNIFF!!!! 👍
I also lit a match...nothing happened.
My favorite car of all time! 😊
Good choice!
@@MonkeyWrenchMike I had the exact Saab although a 5 speed. This among the many REAL Saabs I owned before GM. Good luck with your work on it! Wish I was there to help!
I can smell that gas in Tyler!
check this Mike; "1986-87 there were bad 'Ignition Amplifier Relays' in the fuse panel that would cause a no-start.

Thanks! Will do.
My peoples had a 1993 9000 turbo manual grey hatchback sweet...
Nice car!
I think so too!
Sabb will start would like to see
I feel like this would be a great replacement to replace the Volvo since I don’t hear about that anymore!
Here’s why: ua-cam.com/video/HB8D4WhyIt0/v-deo.htmlsi=TdQCFeJndh_9igSQ
Monkey wrench mike should really give that turbo 900 a new lease on life, running and driving after many years
Hmmm Wonder Who Was Lucky Winning Bid For That Old Turd🤐🤐
I think you need to have the seatbelt on for it to start. VW from the 80s were the same way.
Stay tuned…
Always loved these. Too bad not a manual but considering the age and mileage relatively “clean.”
How about call it the Kemo Saab-bee? On account of all the bees
A SAAAAB. STORY....BOOOO HOOOO😮😮
Nice one!
Who knew, Randy has hair!
Man you stole that car (pun intended).
You and Randy just causing issues 😂
I hope it starts
No wonder Randy never works on his own vehicles 😊😊😅😅
Another cream puff Mike 🧐well I think it will start . It needs a lot of work?
Check the fuses
Barracuda, do i have to keep repeating myself
They stop making these vehicles because everybody got tired of hearing the SOB stories😂😂😂
I´m from Sweden. I would say that car in Sweden starts about 3000$ and upwards. A manual will be more expensive.
They are interesting
