Love the video. Have a question: I installed this head unit, everything works great except phone calls. We mounted the mic in the stock location. Anyone I call hears their own voice echoed back at them and the faster I go, the more distorted the call becomes for the person I’ve called. Any thoughts?
Great video. Can you please help me? Im looking for a double din receiver that has treble, bass and mid if possible on one screen, kind of similar to the Alpine Halo iLX-507. Physical knobs would be my favorite but that seems impossible these days cause pretty much all these units have only an equalizer and it makes it a pain to adjust it every song. I dont want to spend $650 on the alpine for these settings alone cause I dont need a backup camera or any of the 100's other settings. If you could recommend something I'd appreciate it.
I have the ILX650 in my car, thinking about installing another alpine in my wife's car: I'm stuck between a 407 vs the 507...is it worth the extra money to get the 507 over the 407?
Can’t tell you how it sounds, there are a lot of factors in play things like type of speakers, speaker impedance, if using amplifier or not. It might sound trash on my setup but great on yours.
Can you turn it off when driving if you dont want to use it in any case? For example low battery? I dont see a power button... And whats the maximum volume setting when clicking +? Looks like max is 18-20
so this is an uograded unit than the ilx-w705d? this one last mentioned is wireless for car play and Wired Android auto and 1 hdmi, this 507 has 2 hdmi and both carplay and android auto wireless, is this correct?
@@nickmanit both are 2 din, the rear side of the 705D is single din but that's not how you detect a 1 din from a 2 din... anyway this 507 doesn't even exist in my country

@@iSimplifiedTech Hmm. I’m not an audiophile. Even Apple AirPods sound good to me. Those are all things I don’t care for, with the exception of the improved UI and HDMI port. But the former is only a slight improvement (IMO), whereas I can do without the latter (certainly not going to fork over an extra 300 for it). Funnily enough, I actually ordered the 507 (and was intent on keeping the order in place) before two separate Crutchfield reps told me to go with the W650 instead.
I am not impressed with this and it constantly has hangups with connection with the phone, phone calls don't connect and if they do it is digitized and broken I constantly turn it off and on to get it to connect to my phone. I would not recommend this unit due to the number of issues with syncing it. When playing music it will stop and will not work, when it does come back on it is delayed, like it is trying to catch up.

I think the main difference is 507 has 2 din , 705 has 1 din.

Why this over the W650? Especially if you don’t care about wireless CarPlay. Any reason?
Better display HD, HDMI port, better sound controls, HI Res audio, iDataLink compatible, two usb ports. The list goes on.

Have you tried updating the firmware to the latest version?
Mine is Ace,no hangups at all 🤔
