Who’s here after the DBC episode 🥲
This right here was why we all were fans of the guy. Did he win a hundred races and a bunch of titles no he didnt but it was the man behind the wheel that we all loved and cheered for. At his core hes one of us. He even said he just wanted to pay his bills. He may not be around anymore but Dale Jr will always be the man.
"han me one of dem beers reel quick" lol 7:10
Cisco A
marty smith man. one of the most underrated there is. legend.
Who else is here after Marty Smith's podcast interview about Tiger Woods loving this interview.
+1
🙋🏾♀️ UA-cam algorithm at work. But WOW Marty and Dale look like brothers ❤
It's 2022 and this interview still gets me teary eyed. And I still don't forgive espn for giving up on NASCAR.
It wasn’t just NASCAR it was almost all motorsports. I remember watching AMA Superbikes, Motocross, Supercross, USAC SilverCrown, IMSA and so many more and then one year just nothing but talk shows about Football, Basketball and Baseball. I don’t forgive ESPN or NASCAR but hey maybe one day. We still have ABC
Loved that respect and comradery between Marty and Dale .... you can tell there real friends.
Now that is how you do an interview.. Great job Marty Smith! 👍👍
And he's got really cool hair jr should have committed on it!!
Marty Smith is a professional and a gentleman.
Marty Smith needs a bigger role in the sport awesome voice very intelligent of the sport always a professional. Congrats Jr thanks for the memories.
The main reasons why I was bummed ESPN stopped covering races was Marty and Bestwick wasn’t gonna be around
HUUUUGE FAN of Marty 😎👍🏻💯
Heck no. I absolutely can’t stand Marty
@@Frady180 Yeah hard to tell sometimes if he's real or fake. Seems like Marty kinda spreads it on a little thick at times. Again tho, he could be super genuine tho...just how it appears is all sometimes imo.
Loved seeing Dale Jr and Marty sharing a moment AND a beer at the end!👍🏻
Still one of the greatest interviews EVER.. Dale Jr. is always classy, honest, and down to earth and has been since the days of when I raced with him online WAY back in the late 90s and early 2000s.. Marty Smith is not only a top-notch reporter and interviewer, he's an awesome human being..
Love Dale and Marty. Great seeing Marty being able to interview Dale after a race one last time.
Marty gets into Dale Jr...they are buds..awesome interview, NO other could have got Dale to let loose and talk....CONGRATZ!!!!!
Sus
I hope this interview never disappears. Jr was my hero and Marty is one of best reporters on the planet, and they are buddy’s!
Proud of Junior...he was his own person... didn't try to be DE part 2, had a good career...had the weight of NASCAR thrown on his shoulders in an unexpected tragic incident and handled it and himself with dignity and class. Turned out to be a better man... congratulations JR..
I agree so much. He is a good driver. Not a great driver, but better than average. But more than anything, he's a good man. Kind, honest, and genuine.
@@nathanderover6929 I disagree he was a great racer
wrldchamps04 i agree even if he had no Cup titles, it’s about making a name for yourself and creating your own path.
@@rcracer8872 Great gets thrown around way too much. Even he would tell you he probably doesn’t fit that description. Very good driver, especially at Dega and Daytona, but always had the best equipment and support staff as well. I don’t think he fits in the great category, I reserve that for his Dad, King Richard, Pearson, Andretti, Foyt, and a very few others. But he doesn’t need to be. Down to Earth, humble, and very self aware of his own limitations. He’s the definition of a “Man’s Man”. 👍
What a well rounded comment good sir
Two guys who know themselves and love each other. Beautiful!
One of the greatest sports interviews of all time. Let the subject be the star. ask simple questions and shut up and let the man speak until he finishes. Class all the way.
Don't even have to like NASCAR to love this clip. Thus is why we play
Just saw this in 2021... gotta love Marty “the Party” Smith! 🙌🏻
It honestly is heartbreaking that is old man couldnt get this opportunity! To say he went out on his own terms.
Going to miss you Jr you were and always will be my favorite driver
Austin Champagne iiiii
Still have Jeffrey Earnhardt in Xfinity Series
I remember sitting with my dad in his recliner watching Jr and Sr racing growing up..good memories you and your dad made for us bud...proud of you and I know you're happy about getting to enjoy your life with your wife and baby...happy for you Jr....Dale yeah!
I am going to miss Dale Earnhardt Jr. He was always classy.
A NASCAR fans we hate ESPN and bash the hell out of them BUT Marty Smith is one of the one of good guys for sure. Same with Ricky Craven. Both work for ESPN but do such a great job representing the sport despite who they work for. You can tell drivers actually respect those guys for their work instead of just annoying reporters
ESPN had a lot of true professionals on their motorsports staff, Marty Smith seen here, Allen Bestwick, Dr Jerry Punch, there rebooted coverage was so so good, especially the 2011-2014 broadcast team.
This popped up on my mind suggestion list again. Watched all of it again and man, this interview still holds up. Such a great piece/moment. Made me smile and think of such a great career Jr had and how great he was to us fans.
LOL gotta love Marty Smith.
I appreciate that Marty just let him talk. None of the boring questions, just let him be real and honest.
In terms of just all around realness, this has got to be one of the greatest sports interviews ever. That could’ve gone on for an hour and I wouldn’t have been tired of it.
That moment was priceless!!! Marty Smith is a class act!!...........#88 Forever in my heart!!! Amen.............!
Best interview of the night
Never seen this one before...awesome brotherhood!!! The way it should be!!!!
Maaaaan !!! I’d love to get the chance to have a beer with Dale Jr. Marty Smith, WOW !! What a moment. I’m a little jealous, haha. Maybe Dale will see this. Enjoy retirement !!
There are truly some hidden gems among the sport. Cheers to you Dale and Marty
I wish we'll be here to farewell Dale!!!! (1999-2017)
To have such WEIGHT on his shoulders, the son of one the sports Legends, the very Intimidator, his career was under a great deal of pressure and scrutiny from day one. Throughout it all, as a perennial fan favorite, he weathered lots of storms, to forge his own legacy and Hall of Fame career.
The kid did well.
That right there is one of the best heartfelt interviews of all time!
In the end, he didn’t have a Mountain Dew...he shared a Bud. What a way to wrap up a career with a Bud (where it all started having Bud as sponsor).
He drank a Bud with a bud.
Greatest interview ever.
Way too early for this, couldn't watch it live had to wait til now, the Earnhardt family is a treasure!
Helluva interview right there y’all. Fan of both fellas!
Dale is at the top for people in sports. He is as real as it gets.
Man that's probably the coolest interview I have ever seen in Nascar those two old boys respect the hell out of each other as well as the sport ! I don't think you'd ever see talk like that from little bucsh brother attitude and temperament go along way .you can be the best at what you do but if you don't have the respect of your peers than it might as well be for nothing.
I had to give up my career due to a TBI , I'm glad Jr got thru this year w/out another concussion. His book helped me alot. Thanx Jr.!!!
Greatest end to an interview.
thank you jr for the great memories of watching you do wat you do man Ur the best hope to see you again
Racing won't ever be the same ! #8 #3 #88 Forever in our hearts! I've pour so many happy times and tears growing up watching the Earnhardt's , It ran deep in the bloodline having family in N.C.
great great interview. he let dale talk without interrupting and you could tell that they were friends. still miss jr driving but i root for any of his drivers in xfinity series. im sure sr is beyond proud of what he has accomplished.
Dale you are the world to me🏁🏁😢😢😢😢😢
Marty Smith is a badass dude. Would like to see more of him around the sport. Awesome interview.
Going to miss you brother
26 Career 🏁
Not too shabby Jr.
CONGRATZ on The HOF
You deserve it My Guy.

That was awesome !! Awesome Interview Awesome reporting .
Everyone loves this kid. Great career Junebug!
How bout Marty and Dale could be brothers lol
What a great interview!
I love Dale Junior he is the greatest next to his father she did an awesome job and his dad would be so very proud of him God bless the Earnhardt's
Great segment!!
Insanely raw interview.
Dale Jr. carried this sport when I don't think anyone else could have. He is continuing that today with all the things he does.
That was probably the best interview ever. It wasn't just Jr and a reporter. It was a two human beings why great respect and love for one another. Hope he didn't get in trouble for having a beer with Jr. I would've done it without hesitation if I had been there and working.
PS Technical Note to the uploader: This video suddenly gets really blurry halfway through it. Please fix it and upload again. Thanks!
Jr and Marty Smith have been close friends for a long time.
Think its your internet video is fine
You will be missed you are my number 1 driver you are my biggest fan
These guys are buddys now which is awesome me being a diehard jr fan this was emotional to watch this weekend but who remembers that interview from 2010 or 11 where jr got pissy with marty haha
You got a link for that?
We gonna drink one of these damn beers hell yeah
Marty that was the best interview you done
Spoken like a true NC man legend 🐐
Great interview.
Now that's a Marty party and his natural element doing what everyone else does at the racetrack throw them back and have some fun
I miss DALE ALREADY
I drank Budweiser today in honor of Dale.
Had to watch some old footage after reading his book about his final years. It's a great read if you get a chance and explains what he was going through during those last days.
Cool to see time traveling Jimmie Johnson from the year 2040 over Jr's shoulder holding the camera.
This is what fans always saw in Jr. He was too popular to be completely himself for fear that he would disappoint someone. Big E, the legends that paved the way, the guys at the shop, the fans. I hope he can look back with satisfaction. Proud of his OWN legacy, and happy about the kind of man that he has become.
Marty Smith is the man
What could be better than drinking a beer with Dale Jr
Marty is the man
Is there anyone in sports that is more universally loved and respected that isn’t considered to be the “GOAT” of their sport?
Great job raising him!!!!
Marty Smith is the best!
Iwillalwaysbelieveinyouyouarethebest
This wasn't a driver and reporter this was 2 buddies cutting up after the race, that's how it felt to me. Just 2 buddies having a chat after a race
Cool AF
My dude.
When you think about it, Dale Jr and Mr. Rick Hendrick had a great relationship. Dale Jr lost his father, and Mr. Hendrick lost his son. Not to compare, but it is amazing how such a void can cause a bond between 2 people under similar circumstances.
That was hard to watch. Miss watching him race.
Marty Smith is the best
Marty Smith should be doing every post race interview
Marty seems like a nice dude
I hate the fact that this man didn’t do his last race in a Budweiser #8 car 😔
Hear from the Dale Jr download anyone?
>two i loves you from marty
Junior: thanks
J. Cole must be sad.
since he retired i tuned out to nascar
Was that Tim Wilson behind Jr?
I thought I was watching a trailer for 'Baskets' at first.
This may be the last, best moment in NASCAR
We can all comment on Dale jr all we want but, I think it says a lot about Marty Smith when someone like Dale jr trusts him the way he does, not many in the media get that kind of trust and respect.
👊
7:19 "Where's your credential?" 🤣💀
Here after the DJD this week
👌😊
This really was just two friends talking that happened to be in front of a camera
I love this man to death, him and his dad. I pray that he lives a long and healthy and prosperous life the rest of his time on this Earth. The greatest of all time in my mind besides Jimmie Johnson in the modern day era. Long live the pied Piper of Daytona and the master of Talladega, Dale Earnhardt Jr!!!!!!!!! God bless you Jr
