We reached 10K! A huge thank-you to all of you who subscribed, liked the videos, left kind words of encouragement, and helped us along the way - you guys rock! After the trip, we'll be posting a thank-you / giveaway video, because there are many people to thank and we sincerely appreciate everything you've done :)
Chris Prouse I'm so glad your channel is doing well! The production quality is basically unrivalled on UA-cam, and to think you put in all that effort into what might still be a niche topic that'll never go truly viral is awesome. You are truly a blessing to the community of people into canoeing, camping, and loving life outdoors, no matter how many of us there are. You are wonderful ambassadors to the sports and lifestyle you obviously love, but I'm sorry if I kind of hope you never get too big, otherwise soon the wilderness will be crawling with Chris Prouse fans! On second thought that might not be bad cause they seem like cool people too.
How could you not love the park ? It’s just as great as it was 60 years ago. It’s God’s gift to us all we must look after it. Thanks another great trip & video 🇨🇦👍
That cabin saved my life when my canoe capsized coming across the lake.. 20% chance of rain turned into an absolute monsoon and high winds. It got really dangerous for a while there and had to take shelter in the cabin to dry out my gear for two days. Great experience though! Nice video!
WOW that was the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen, it was absolutely stunning. I had to go back and watch it a few times just to soak in the beauty of it. I've watched a lot of your videos and your editing is absolutely brilliant, i hope you win some kind of award for that sunset. I love how the both you make the videos so fun and paint such a beautiful picture of The Algonquin. Thanks for sharing your hard work and journey with us all.
What an inspiring series you have created! You spurred me to return to Algonquin (after a 49 year hiatus) with my Son (now 23) for a 4 day back country canoe trip. It was an amazing experience. Thanks for the inspiration Chris and Julia! Please keep your beautiful videos coming!
You capture everything the scenery has to offer and mix the music into excellent productions for us. I think for you 2 these are special and fun times to look forward to, but I can feel the love is there between you where ever you are. And that's the important thing. Your at the top of my go to list. :)
Thank you for another great video! I have to say, in those segments where you step away from filming the adventure and into photography, you really take your work to another level - it's very good. Whether it's the flashes of breakfast, or the pause to take in the large tree, baby tree or the sunsets, it's all very moody. You do it very well. In other news, your videos have turned me into a better camper - you've taught me more without instructing about how to build a solid fire than I knew before, so thank you. It paid off last weekend in the rain :)
The view was definitely worth the panting and puffing, thanks for capturing such an exquisite moment in time. You have quite the knack for persuading Mother Nature to provide such great lighting.
Got to love Big Crow. Spent 10 Days there last year over the Canada day weekend with 5 guys had an epic time. Got to love the view from the look out tower and Chris hearing you huffing and puffing on the way up the trail made me feel better if it made you breath that way and your in way better shape then me LOL. I just remember it being a little tough. One of they guys (Ed) in our group is in his 80s and did it with us he is amazing.
Beautiful. My boys and I stayed in that cabin. The day we left was the day the park staff came to paint it white inside. That view at the top. I so did not see the spot to look out on the park like that. Guess I'll have to go back. It was funny to see the flags on the path. We put them up so if anything happened my boys would know the way back. As always fantastic work Chris. The both of you make me want to get out more.
Thanks Courtney! And thank-you also for putting up the markers which were really helpful! Sorry to hear you missed the lookout - great excuse to go back for sure! :)
Hello Ladies , great scenery and such a joy to see professional campers not bumbling around trying to make another camping / survival video !!! I like how you think about safety first when it comes to water / fire / bears and are ready and able to take action quickly ! Do you think the Canadian Bigfoot / Sasquatch lives in Algonquin Park ??? Did you sense that maybe the Sasquatch was nearby , or just watching you on any one of your stop-overs ??? Thanks !
Great videos. I stumbled upon your videos as I was browsing canoe camping ADK. This brought back memories of a trip I took in 97 to many of the lakes I see you at. It made me break out my map again to revive the trip on paper. Someday I hope to make the trek from NY again. Thanks for sharing and your camera/cinema skills are excellent. Great outdoor attitude as well.
Misty lake has one of my favorite camping spots. Its basically a huge boulder on the shoreline. And rain lake has a Camp site high up on a cliff. Its pain in the butt to climb up with all your gear but it overlooks the entire lake. Beautiful view.
Having all that incredible space all to your selves overlooking the lake below only can imagine how that must have felt deep down inside incredible! Thank You
Love the 360-camera as a visual marker for the 360-fragments. It becomes something of a footnote in a book. Personally I rather have separate 360-fragments for the different locations then one that combines the two.
Like always, another great video! What really surprises me is the condition both of you are in. Sprint hike up a mountain, a feat that would have given most of us a heart attack, and yet, Chris is barely winded.
You guys need to visit Vancouver Island sometime (when flying is safer) - the trees on Meares Island and in Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park are INSANE!
I just started watching your videos last night and i am absolutely amazed at the beauty of all your adventures. The videos are perfect. Even with all the moving the videos are perfect. Keep being happy in nature
Wooo. That storm just happened. Good timing :) Seemed like a pretty good hike at the end of the day, but certainly worth it. What an amazing spot. Well planned and executed, as always. Beauty!
Wow fantastic. That was a great view for sure. You guys are in great shape ! Love the footage with the gimbal , smooth. Must have packed a lot of batteries!
Just lovely. Beautiful view. For those of you who are unaware, that canoe these women are slinging around so easily weighs 45 lbs os so. They are in excellent condition.
I going to sound like a broken record. But I love your videos. It is such a joy to watch them. I used to look forward to spending 2 to 3 weeks a summer canoeing up there. We always put in at canoe lake from the portage store. We explored all over that park. Butt lake, Bear lake and Ink lake are some of the lakes I remember. You ever have any trouble with bears. We did one years. Momma bear got our food . Guess I didn't tie it high enough in the tree. What are the canoes you use today. Ours at that time late 70s to early 80s were aluminum. Weighted about a ton. But it was a great time canoeing an portaging.
Thanks so much Aubrey! Fortunately, we haven't had any trouble with bears, though we did see / briefly film one during our first filming trip, when one swam by our campsite which was a bit of a surprise! The canoe provided by Algonquin Outfitters is a Keewaydin 16, made by Swift Canoes, made from carbon and kevlar composites - incredibly light at only about 42 lbs! :)
Great footage, that look out view was spectacular and satisfiying to watch. We get to experience these beautiful vistas and sky scapes without lifting a canoe or a backpack or running out of breath climbing up that hill. Its like I was there. Thank you for such excellent camera work. You two are therapeutic to watch. This is so relaxing and kind. Im so glad I subscribed. Paul
13:50 - 15:25 one my favorite parts then the fire and supper 19:00 - 20 :00 . thanks for sharing . you ladies are troopers . that is a very nice rental canoe .
Ahhh you guys! Get me every time, I can't make it through the first 2 minutes of the video before feeling either nostalgia or longing for outdoor living - great as always!!
I would like to suggest that you take a trip down the Barron Canyon on the east side of the Park after watching your video on Big Crow Lake and the huge Pine trees and the fabulous "lookout"! By the way, your videos are awesome. Keep them going....please!
The sunset was amazing! I shared it with a few others who will join me for an Algonquin trip soon. I will have to check out your 360 videos when I can. Thanks for the amazing trip videos and tips for places to go to and camp at. Your map helps me plan my own trips :)
Absolutely amazing view of the sunset from the lookout, thanks for filming it. Another great video Chris and Julie, Holly and I would sure like to see you video a trip thru the Barron Canyon with your 360 cam, I'm sure it would be amazing, something for you to consider for a future video?? Congrats on another super video.❤️👍🏻👍🏻
Wow.. this is fantastic! thank you for sharing. I cant wait to go ! Next time you go let me know and I will try to join at some point. Best regards Michael
You girls are the best. Those sunsets and sunrises were amazing. Julia running into that cold water was funny. Congrats on 10k subs, but you will only get bigger and bigger if you keep posting content like this. Oh and the 270 snow spinning car move is a keeper too. LOL Peace and love peace and love girls
I've witnessed some amazing sunsets on that lake, and climbed that look out (and even the tower once about ~10 yrs ago... not recommended)... but ive never seen a sunset from the lookout; that looks amazing. I might have to return and make that a priority. love the videos and editing!
Hey girls, how are you? Another great adventure and video, thank you for sharing. The lookout has a fabulous view, you nailed the timing for the sunset. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦, the park!
Thank you! We're doing well! Btw, I have a quick question - are you able to identify the birds singing around the lookout from their song? We were really curious, and then I remembered that you know a lot about birds! :)
Yes I heard them singing it was a thrush , it appeared to be a Swainson or Hermit Thrush , very common migratory birds, lots of peeper frog signing as well,, the park is a great place for migratory song birds. ,, Bob,,
You're most welcome, I'm happy to contribute anytime. Let me know the next time you're planning a trip to either location, Ottawa or Almonte. Give notice and I'll be sure to be there. Thank you. Congratulations on the 10 K subscribers, great job. It's a steady as it goes process. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 to you both.
Actually seeing that you have 10k subs shocked me that you didn't have 10 tones Thai already. Good content, well edited, and joyful. I enjoy your vids a lot and look forward to the next one. Thanks for sharing. Be blessed.
What a privilege to have enjoyed this trip with you! New Subscriber here, thank you for your efforts. I could actually smell the wonderful air as you guys cruised across the lake, and after the rain. Blessings Your Way... ~D.S.
The only downside is we don't get to see YOU enough. Not really complaining..wonderful as always. Permanent link on my FB page, trying to spread the word!
are you Ladies friends or Family? if you are friend then extra wow... Great gob . You both are so peaceful and calm... ones with Nature I think.... very in tune.
Funny..I stayed at that Ranger Cabin for three days 2 falls ago and did the hike to the "lookout Tower", interesting to see the same deadfall is still there so its not getting many visits. Hikers note: the tower is inaccessible since they pulled the ladder years ago . When I was there the view was frankly "meh" so smart to do it at sunset and get back in time for dusk ( you two always cut it close!) and get what you got well...rare. Also interesting is the cabin was unoccupied since my mindset that they are constantly booked. Its a great cabin btw, wood stove makes it cozy on sharp nights. Downside is that it faces north..never gets sun. Camp on da beach sites.
Congrats on reaching 10K well deserved, the 1st impression that comes to my mind while watching this movie, is like being there and I am only using an IPad at 1440p great work Chris I am speechless, the view is breathtaking to say the least. Great work!!!!!
Thanks so much Ben! Just a quick question - I've noticed Safari on our Mac desktop computers only supports up to 1440p playback on UA-cam, and I have to switch to the Chrome browser in order to see the full 4K... is it the same through the mobile app on the iPad, in the sense that it only displays up to 1440p? Curious to know what the user experience is like on different platforms :)
Hi Chris and Julia coming back from a photo shoot of birds with my Brother and sister in law and they both liked your video in Algonquin Park I will get back to you as I will try to watch it on my MacBook Pro 2015 edition with an Asus 4K monitor and let you know what resolution I watched your video and I will try some experimentations with different devices I own, for now I am enjoying a nice BBQ with a nice bottle of wine hope you are doing the same cheers!!!

Thanks Harold! Incredibly rewarding after that hike :)
That hike was worth it! Awesome views. I'm from Texas and we don't have access to wild public land like this. I envy your outdoors playground.

Cool! Thanks for watching, and hope your triathlon season is going well! :)
Superb shots from above the lake. Beautiful!

Girls. That sunset was heavenly to watch. Thank you for sharing that with the rest of us.
I'm in absolute awe of your talent. You inspire me to get back out in the woods, and I'm an indoor recess kind of fella. Phenomenal!
Thanks Josh! You should totally go for it! :)
Like always, another great video! What really surprises me is the condition both of you are in. Sprint hike up a mountain, a feat that would have given most of us a heart attack, and yet, Chris is barely winded.
Haha, thanks AG! Julia definitely gave me a run for my money up the hill :)
Incredible sunset and nicely captured! Been at the cabin but didn't have time to climb up. Will need to revisit some time!
Another fabulous venture forever on my iPad. Thanks guys.
A view that gives you chills when your not even there!
WOW beautiful sunset you captured!
Threw this on my 40 inch tv and i thought i was watching Nova!
Thanks Stormchaser! Couldn't believe how fortunate we were to get that view at the end of the day :)
Thank you for that sunset!! My time is limited and I can't get to Algonquin as much as I would like. That made my summer so far!! Again, many thanks!!

Very professional production. I'm very tempted to ski that fire tower trail this winter. Too bad one can't rent the cabin in the winter.

Aces... great vid. Loved the views from on high. Thanks for putting in the time to document.

Downside is that it faces north..never gets sun. Camp on da beach sites.
Me @ 13:50 Welp I went to church today. Words are too small.
Thank you Chris and Julia for sharing.
Be well,
Thanks Scott! Be well :)
Sunset view is skookum as frig!
