How to Easily Animate a Photoshop File in After Effects

Adobe Evangelist Terry White is here to show how you can create a layered Photoshop file and then animate those layers in Adobe After Effects. In this example, he creates three layer groups containing multiple layers and shows how to animate each layer onto the scene and then off the scene for social media.

Couple of bonus tips.
Rathter than relying on guides to get back to your exact positions, simply scroll to a point in the timeline where you want them to be at their design point and hit opt + P this will create a keyframe that ensures they will be precise.
To animate the scrolling, an alternative to shift+ drag is to only drag the X value in the properties. You can also right click and separate values meaning you can control X and Y independently, making things that work in a linear fashion much easier to control.

Terry thank you for the explanation. At the 8:44 mark is where I get lost. For some reason, my system doesn't give me the "Layer Options" dialogue box. I'm running the latest update of AE on a 2022 Mac Mini M1. Any help would be great.

I have a question. I am ok with AI and AE and I am looking for jobs in motion graphics. What should I learn to do in Photoshop in order to aim for these jobs?
My guess is that healing brush mastery on pictures of supermodels is not the way to go, still there are skills in PS that I MUST HAVE.
