Good judgement comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgement. Lessons learned and passed on might save someone else from a bad experience. Excellent video! So wise for your short years on earth! Only thing missing is faith but that might come in the next video of life lessons at 40. At 64 that's what gets me through the day now.
I just turned 30 and I'm honestly going through the worst. Thanks for the tips. I have made it a priority to dig myself out this hole and be the best that I can be.
Look how serious he is while talking about all those things, i loved it; you can tell how much he really mean it. This is probably one of the best videos from these kind of "solo videos" you guys do from time to time. I love you guys work, thank you so much Alex for sharing a piece of you and also this great amount of wisdom and inspiration. ♥
“Introspection is something we really don’t celebrate in this day and age and it’s so vital to being a well-rounded person”.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I could not agree more.
There is lot of stigma against doing things solo. Your videos gave me courage to travel solo and be proud of it. More importantly, I've learned to say both yes and no. And do things my way and not always depend on others. Thank you so much.
Alex! Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I just turned 29 and have been thinking about how I want to spend the last year in my 20's. I think a lot of what you discussed here, really hit home with how I want to live year 29. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Appreciate all the content the Vaga Brothers put out! Keep it up and keep inspiring!
I just found this video. I am 45. I closed my business after 14 years just because I had enough. Got myself a part-time job, and start travel four times a year. I even start my travel blog, and everybody sad that I am too old for that. The blog is for young and cool. Who cares, I love it, and I do it for myself. Life starts the day you decide to live. I know it's sound strange, but it's true. You are never too young or too old. Enjoy, it's only will get better.
I'm turning 21 in a few days and found myself nodding to every single point you made. These are the things that are always at the back of my head but I never really make a conscious effort to make them happen. This definitely gave me a proper nudge and I will try to keep these in mind when making decisions in the next ten years.
I loved that you touched on the impact of solo journeys on our growth. Riding your bike for that huge distance, walking the Camino, etc. There is something about that physical and mental discomfort that pushes you down into your darkest places; but, that's also how you get the light.
Hi ! ♡ i'm from Algeria ! and i will be traveling the world soon ! As solo ,,even its hard for muslim girl ,, but i will do it ☆ i love u , your videos give me Courage !
Hi Algeria, my name is Leslie! I am thinking of going on a solo trip as well. I NEED to find myself at this time in my life and I’m very hesitant because everyone says a girl can’t travel alone, you won’t be safe, it’s dangerous, how can you go alone. But I feel it. I want to go and I’m on the edge go doing it! As another women I support your solo travels I wish you a safe trip where ever you go and may we cross paths one day!
We are in the process of finalizing a video about Solo Travel and tips for making the most of a solo trip and staying safe on the road! Also we would love to visit Algeria one day too! Thanks for watching and supporting our journey! Stay curious and keep exploring
Wolf women, I wish you the best on your upcoming trip. Solo Travel is sooo beneficial to the solo. Each time I’ move done it, my life has expanded in amazing ways. If you find yourself in Wisconsin, send me a DM, and we’ll try to show you as much as possible. I’m looking forward to finally traveling to Africa in the next few years. I got sick in 2008, and I lost a lot of confidence since I lost some functions, but now I’ve successfully done some domestic US solo trips despite walking with a cane and have absence seizures, so I’m getting closer to that goal.
I would only add: be independent emotionally and be practical. Friends don’t want to do that trip? Go on your own! Partner doesn’t want to go off for a weekend, it’s OK to go on your own... being emotionally independent doesn’t mean don’t love others or appreciate them, just means that you respect yourself more which will allow healthier relationships (love, work, family, friends...)
Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge. I'm blessed to be 19 years old and already acquired so much good knowledge and life lessons and so many good experiences while traveling by bike over the last year. I want to be the best version of myself, keep learning, growing as a human being to be able to help others to get on their path of their dreams. Thank you
Traveling by bicycle is such a grounding, humbling and enriching travel experience. I’ve ridden and camped the 1000 miles down the coast of California and 1,000 miles through the Pyrenees mountains of France and Spain. Miss traveling like that! Happy riding and best of luck on your journey!
I grew up in an outdoors mecca--Alaska--and I always hated going out. I spent my twenties inside the house, playing video games and watching Netflix. Don't make my mistake.
Now this is what's helpful about UA-cam social media - really great lessons and advice - thank you! Many of y'alls videos contain bits and pieces of these - be it traveling Spain, Ireland, Wales, Canada, Asia, US. The California by Motorcycle series and East of Eden film were so inspiring to us. Even your life lesson in Quebec travel vlogs was inspiring (bloopers) "I've got snow in my trousers. My willie's getting cold." You and your 'old' bro are the best!
I turned 30 today, and this video has inspired me to reflect on my life and gather my thoughts. I'm on vacation so I'll work on my list when I get back home. Some of your lessons are mine too.
This is a video that I really needed to watch/hear. I turned 28 in April and for whatever reason, it sent me into a tailspin. I realized that I turn 30 in less than 2 years and there was so much that I haven’t done that I wanted to do and I felt lost. While those initial feelings of panic have subsided a little, I am not where I thought I would be at 28 (thought I would be married with a house, etc) but I have started to come to terms with it and that IT IS OK! I’m trying to do more for myself and get my butt into gear and set my mind to what I want to do. I work in a job that I hate and I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be able to hang on, but I’m back in school part time getting my masters degree in something that I feel passionate about. I plan to backpack alone for 6-8 weeks in Europe towards the end of this year and who knows what experiences and insights that trip will bring. Hopefully I’ll learn more about the world, other people, and myself in ways that I couldn’t at home. While I can’t say that I’m excited to turn 30 (yet!) in about a year and a half, I’m excited to do more things for myself and take the lessons I’ve learned in my 20’s and carry them into my 30’s.
Thank you for sharing this Katy! By writing down your feelings and story and sharing it with the world, you’re one step closer to where you want to be in life. Enjoy that solo trip, you will grow immensely from it!! Stay curious and keep exploring 🙏🏼
One of the best video’s I’ve seen in while. I loved the idea and even though it can be obvious, it helps when someone tells it in your face to remind you :)
I'm about to turn 24 and so far I feel like I'm not getting anywhere in my life (except from graduating). This advice is SO encouraging for me because I want to do so much in my life like you Alex & Marko 🙏
Thank you so much! It's very encouraging and it makes me re-think about my life. I took down everything you said and hopefully I will always be able to remind myself of these great advice. Soon I'll embark on my solo backpacking trip through southeast Asia and Australia, this is a soul-searching trip that's been put off for various reasons but I finally worked my way to make it happen. You guys are the motivation!
From my experience, hard work does not always pay off. You can hustle for years and years, but that doesn't guarantee that your boss will recognize that, appreciate it, and reward it. Maybe that's why I decided to become a freelancer. :)
This is what I was speaking about when “changing your game plan if things aren’t working out after you’ve sincerely tried and hustled” glad to hear you’re continuing to adapt and innovate :). Best of luck Ashley! You got this
Ashley Brooke Absolutely true! I was a very successful self employed fine artist for 15 years. At 49 I had to make changes and pick up part time work. I'm still trying to travel, but you are right nothing is guaranteed or forever.
I agree. A lot of people think that growth is earning money because they are indoctrinated by industrialism and capitalism. As those people get older they see time as something that is running out and try to do more things and it's exhausting just to be around them. The truth is that life can be lived many different ways and all cultures take away from your time on earth and the best thing you can do is make peace with dying so that you don't use the time you do have to race towards an imaginary finish line.
Thank you very much, it´s so inspiring! I´m a 43 years old mom of 4 children, born in Russia and living in Germany. My passion (one of many) is travel, that´s why I´m here... It´s my way to learn English too ;) I´m not 30, no more... :D but it´s never too late to be better at whatever you want
I'm glad you talked about the whole instant gratification thing. I have met so many people that say, if you haven't reached your goal in a few months to a year, quit and try something new. What happened to staying with your dream, and keep trying and working hard? If you love what you do, it's not really work. Just be smart about it, so you don't go broke along the way.
Your videos and Carrie's are so inspiring. You both embrace my favourite things: travel, self-care and beauty. You're very wise, Alex, and I can see through so many videos the humble and caring person you are. Keep up with amazing content, you sure have a follower for all the times :)
I've been following you guys for quite some time, but I didn't expect a video like this, and it was pretty good dear. We can feel it's really coming from your experience and that you put a lot of thought over it :) You guys deserve the crowd watching you, keep up!
I have watched so many of your videos. This one really resonated with me. So much truth and helpful info in it. I'm 45years old and life does go quickly. You appreciate things more as you get older but you're never too old to learn. Thank you Alex! X
Great advice! I am turning 30 this September. Definitely have more contact with my inner self now than in my early 20s. I agree that health of mind and body is crucial for a quality of life. Have a problem with pushing my comfort zone still ))
Friends and family are important especially when your abroad for most of the time. We love to meet with friends and family when we’re in the Netherlands. While we’re on the road we love to be outside and blessed being together 24/7. Love this video sit down. Cheers Angela and Tino
Loved this, Alex! Just turned 30 3 months ago and while I wasn't able to travel as much as I wanted to in my 20s, it's not too late. I definitely agree with a lot of these - especially the bucket list item which is why I'm traveling to Spain and Portugal next year!
Congrats on becoming 30 Alex :)...nice to hear ur thoughts and hv to say i am one year older than u but u have already achieved so many things in life...especially u have traveled the world much more than i can do and i've been putting continuous effort to make that happen and live my dream which is to visit my selected fav places around the globe in my life span! Surely ur channel is an inspiration!
Hello, I am from Nepal, I've learnt a lot from you all!! I have started managing time for short travels, learn about people, their culture and the magnificent nature!! Thank You and keep inspiring!!
Yeah, you should probably do! It is a paradise for trekking and cultural immersion! You should try The Annapurna Circuit Trek (ACT) and the Everest Base Camp Trek for sure! This October we are planning for ACT after we watched the movie "Wild"!! You must watch it, if you haven't ! Have a great day ahead! Take care!
i feel like i wasted much of my twenties just trying to stay afloat and not becoming completely engulfed by depression. turning 30 in a month and feel like i'm only just beginning to snap out of it ... but now i've gone broke taking the risks i shouldv'e taken right out of college. i just want to FINALLY FEEL BETTER and at peace with myself. thank you for this video, it has helped me forgive my self a little more
Hello, in one word I can say impressive thoughts mostly matching with me. I am working a multinational company and exploring Africa continent and viewer of you channel and learning lots of things from that. Thanks
Great advice, Alex! I just turned 30 last year and a lot of these resonated with me. Still definitely want to go on the Camino. Going to share this with my friends who are about to turn thirty. ¡Saludos desde Guanajuato! -Jim
you are so wise! Even though what you are saying isn't very new to me (having read many books, traveled, lectures, ted talks..) I think this video perfectly summarizes all this knowledge. I'll save it to my playlist to come back to it from time to time to remind myself of these simple truths. Thank you!
Thank you for the honesty and advice. Sometimes you need to hear it in a blunt way! I'm turning 21 in a few months and am really trying to get ahead and keep up with time in relation to my life goals. Really drawing inspiration from this channel and Carrie's!
I’m 54 and in this decade jobs and work change very quickly being able to adapt to change and think outside the square is really important and solo travel teaches you to think on your feet . What you said about old friends is so true no one is perfect but they have your back .
Seriously...... Man m getting addicted of ur videos. Bcz its late night m watching it and can't stop my self to watch it.. The facts u said r really inspiring... Thanks for it..
Thank you for this highly inspirational video. This is exactly what I needed to hear right now when I’m 25 year old and on the path to finally find my true self and the meaning of my life. And the interesting thing is that I’m enjoying every single moment of this journey. So thank you once again for this video and looking forward to the next one.🙂👍✌️
I am 73 years old and I must say that your advice is very mature and sound advice coming from a very young 30 year old! I wish I knew all of those tips when I was 30 years old!
Fantastic talk every little thing that you talked about in this video resonated with me. What a great way to start off my day. I'll definitely be giving this another watch soon. Lots of love from Karachi, Pakistan.
This video has inspired me in so many different levels and i am very very grateful for making this video, they are ideas that i had and needed to hear in order to evolve and progress mentaly and in life. Thanks!
This was a surprisingly insightful video! Not something I'm typically drawn to watch, but I really loved your points! I turned 29 a couple of months after you turned 30, so I can identify with so much of this! Love your guys' videos!
Thanks Alex-👍😉😃 Sent this video to my millennial daughter as an encouragement to her- Appreciate your honesty & openness & compassion 💟 A mom & Vagabrothers fan 🌅God bless
You're already the second youtuber I respect who recommended "the alchemist". I know now which book I'll get on audible next month... ;) Great video btw.! I think I'm fortunate to have realized many of the things you advice when I was still very young. I'm 26 now and practise most of the things you've mentioned. Comparing my current self with my self from 10 years ago, doing all these things really have had a great impact on my life in a very postive way!
The most useful 30 minutes I have spent today. Highly informative and useful. This is one of the best videos on this channel. Love your work Alex, keep the good work going and belated birthday wishes :)
This is a really good motivational video! Please keep it posted so I can watch it again. I've recently turned 32; and I need to change things, I'm not where I want to be.
Dude, Alex... Just gotta say, I am quite honestly very impressed with all your tips. Your candor reveals your honest intentions in making this video and it's obvious all this wisdom comes from personal experience. I just turned 29 recently and can say that I have learned most of the things you've mentioned myself along my personal life journey. Thank you for making this! ¡Saludos desde Canadá! P.S. When is your show coming out? Thanks!
Leaving this video with a lot of things to think about, full positivity and ready for change. Goals before I turn 30 1. Learn to swim :) That’s just the beginning Thanks Alex
Needed to see this as I’ve been putting off doing the Camino for quite some time now, going to make a concerted effort to do it next year. Thanks for your mini-series on Bilbao & San Sebastián, which I just came back from today, the tortilla at Bar Zabaleta was definitely worth the trip!
I turned 62 this week-
Thanks 🙏 for the reminder that everyday is a gift 💟👍😃So true!!
“Live a life of integrity, honesty & service “
Thank you 😊

Good judgement comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgement. Lessons learned and passed on might save someone else from a bad experience. Excellent video! So wise for your short years on earth! Only thing missing is faith but that might come in the next video of life lessons at 40. At 64 that's what gets me through the day now.
I just turned 30 and I'm honestly going through the worst. Thanks for the tips. I have made it a priority to dig myself out this hole and be the best that I can be.

This is probably one of the best videos from these kind of "solo videos" you guys do from time to time. I love you guys work, thank you so much Alex for sharing a piece of you and also this great amount of wisdom and inspiration. ♥
even though I'm 18 i needed this....
Thank you so much...
“Introspection is something we really don’t celebrate in this day and age and it’s so vital to being a well-rounded person”.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I could not agree more.
Sad but true! 🙏🏼
There is lot of stigma against doing things solo. Your videos gave me courage to travel solo and be proud of it. More importantly, I've learned to say both yes and no. And do things my way and not always depend on others. Thank you so much.
This is great to hear - we still cannot believe that our videos can help inspire positive change in others 🙏🏼. Thank you for the inspiration
Awesome to hear 🙏🏼 - Enjoy the journey
I loved that you touched on the impact of solo journeys on our growth. Riding your bike for that huge distance, walking the Camino, etc. There is something about that physical and mental discomfort that pushes you down into your darkest places; but, that's also how you get the light.
I couldn’t agree more - I always feel so much more in touch with myself and stronger/ smarter after trips like that
Can't wait to see your trip to Algeria, Sooooo many things to discover right here
Wolf women, I wish you the best on your upcoming trip.
I got sick in 2008, and I lost a lot of confidence since I lost some functions, but now I’ve successfully done some domestic US solo trips despite walking with a cane and have absence seizures, so I’m getting closer to that goal.
waaww i'm from tunisia i was trying to travel as solo but i couldn't if you did it tell me how
I will be turning 30 in 6 months. You showed me great lessons and motivation to improve myself so thank you:)
You got this!!! Happy early birthday Natsuki! Where are you tuning in from?
From Japan:) I came back to my country at the end of April this year after the wonderful four years of journey in Canada!
Great addition!! Some times you got to go it alone
well said, but I'm so scared to travel by myself
You two have inspired me to start vlogging and showing people the world as well! Thank you so much!
Awesome!! Stay curious and keep exploring
Really, really, really, really, really needed this. Thank you 💛
Thank you Alana - really glad to hear it resonated

love this, I can so feel the overwhelming love and authenticity behind all these advices! Thanks for this video 💖
Inspirational... I will turn 30 in one month and have started doing much of the things you talked about. Very good advice, thank you!
Great to hear Jodi!! Happy early birthday!

I turned 30 today, and this video has inspired me to reflect on my life and gather my thoughts. I'm on vacation so I'll work on my list when I get back home. Some of your lessons are mine too.
When I feel stressed or am a bit anxious, the outdoors generally gives the distraction I need. Sound advice.

Glad you found it helpful Leanne. Thank you for tuning in
Great video! With all these life lessons we can better shape who we are as a person - for our own personal growth.
Amen Mel!
I'm about to turn 24 and so far I feel like I'm not getting anywhere in my life (except from graduating). This advice is SO encouraging for me because I want to do so much in my life like you Alex & Marko 🙏
Echa u will laugh at yourself when u r 29 u still so young to do many things trust me
Keep your head up and keep moving forward with a positive attitude and you’ll be fine
Wow I’m 23 and I’m about to graduate and thats how I feel!
Haha omg that's how I feel I just turned 24 and I haven't even left the country yet. So much to learn and explore at a young age
Thank you so much! It's very encouraging and it makes me re-think about my life. I took down everything you said and hopefully I will always be able to remind myself of these great advice. This is crazy to hear but thank you so much 😊
I almost cry ....you seem such a nice person...it translates so well through the screen....Best of wishes both of you
I just turn 30 myself this year, and I agree with you 100%. You have been my inspiration. Keep up your good work. Love and peace bros ✌️
Happy belated birthday! Thank you for the kind message

This is the best video I’ve watched this year. Thank you for sharing it, greetings from Peru !
Wow thank you Christian!!! Appreciate the support :)!
I've been following you guys for quite some time, but I didn't expect a video like this, and it was pretty good dear. We can feel it's really coming from your experience and that you put a lot of thought over it :) You guys deserve the crowd watching you, keep up!

Couldn’t agree with you more!
Loved this, Alex! Just turned 30 3 months ago and while I wasn't able to travel as much as I wanted to in my 20s, it's not too late. I definitely agree with a lot of these - especially the bucket list item which is why I'm traveling to Spain and Portugal next year!
You’re going to love Spain and Portugal!
@@vagabrothers hey Alex! what’s the song at 0:55?
Congrats on becoming 30 Alex :)...nice to hear ur thoughts and hv to say i am one year older than u but u have already achieved so many things in life...especially u have traveled the world much more than i can do and i've been putting continuous effort to make that happen and live my dream which is to visit my selected fav places around the globe in my life span! Surely ur channel is an inspiration!
Hello, I am from Nepal, I've learnt a lot from you all!! I have started managing time for short travels, learn about people, their culture and the magnificent nature!! Thank You and keep inspiring!!
That’s so cool Kishan! We want to come visit Nepal!
Take care!
i feel like i wasted much of my twenties just trying to stay afloat and not becoming completely engulfed by depression. turning 30 in a month and feel like i'm only just beginning to snap out of it ... but now i've gone broke taking the risks i shouldv'e taken right out of college. i just want to FINALLY FEEL BETTER and at peace with myself. thank you for this video, it has helped me forgive my self a little more
I'm 32 and I completely agree with ALL of these! Thanks for such an open, positive video.
One of your best videos Alex 👌
So glad you enjoyed it - thank you for the kind words, can be tough to share videos like this sometimes
This is probably the most relevant video I have ever seen.
Great tips "never stop learning"
Can't agree more with you on your suggestions " be patient and take care of yourself"
Hello, in one word I can say impressive thoughts mostly matching with me. I am working a multinational company and exploring Africa continent and viewer of you channel and learning lots of things from that. Thanks

All of it is very thoughtful. Thanks for keeping it real on this one Alex. Buen Camino!
Great advice, Alex! I just turned 30 last year and a lot of these resonated with me. Still definitely want to go on the Camino. Going to share this with my friends who are about to turn thirty. ¡Saludos desde Guanajuato! -Jim
Gracias Jim!!! You will love the Camino! It’s the best!
Spanish and Go ¡Saludos desde Guadalajara!
you are so wise! Even though what you are saying isn't very new to me (having read many books, traveled, lectures, ted talks..) I think this video perfectly summarizes all this knowledge. I'll save it to my playlist to come back to it from time to time to remind myself of these simple truths. Thank you!
Such well rounded person. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awww thank you Kimberley
vagabrothers lol. It's Kimberly!
I needed to hear that today. Thank you!
Thank you Elise!!

Life lessons in general. Thanks!
Fantastic talk every little thing that you talked about in this video resonated with me. What a great way to start off my day. I'll definitely be giving this another watch soon. Lots of love from Karachi, Pakistan.
Thank you Bilal!!! We hope to visit Pakistan one day

I just shared this wonderful video with my husband who is a mental health counselor working with teens. Very inspiring. Love it ☺️🌺
"Every day is a gift!"
Thanks Alex-👍😉😃
Sent this video to my millennial daughter as an encouragement to her-

This was a great video to watch at the beginning of the year. It's good advice for people beyond 30 as well.
🙏🏼
Great advice! I'm getting ready to turn 21 and am searching for great life tips, this hit the nail on the head
Hey!!!! ❤️❤️ CONGRATULATIONS on 30! I’m 24 currently, seems like time flies!
Time does fly Janne!! Get after it while you can! :)
This one is really good and helpful, thank you!
Awesome advice - thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching Cathy!
Some of those were very needed. Thanks for sharing!
The information was a big help, much appreciated Alex!
Thanks for sharing your heart and mind with us!
Humility is the way to succes
The most useful 30 minutes I have spent today. Highly informative and useful. This is one of the best videos on this channel. Love your work Alex, keep the good work going and belated birthday wishes :)
This is a really good motivational video!
Please keep it posted so I can watch it again.
I've recently turned 32; and I need to change things, I'm not where I want to be.
Don’t worry this video isn’t going anywhere. Best of luck with your life changes, keep your chin up - you can do it!
Thank you!
It's fun to travel vicariously through you and other UA-camrs.
However, I do need to strive for my own experence.
I've saved this video, I'll watch it every time I feel unguided and lost. Thank you.
shame I can only give this one like. so true and so nicely said, well done!
Thank you Amy!!! 🙏🏼😊
They say travelling gives you a lot of time for self-realization and wisdom, after hearing you open up in this video - I agree.
Thanks!

Dang... I need to do the Camino Santiago. Sounds like an amazing experience. Thanks for the recs and cheers!
The Camino is the BEST!
Wise words! Thanks a lot for your perspective my friend. It's much appreciated.
Make your bed! Happy birthday Aries!
Probably the easiest tips of all haha
Thank you so much for this content. I'm from Brazil and your channel is helping me to learn English and inspiring me to travel. 🙌
