I don’t care what are you going to say or what is the video about, I will always watch you and your gorgeous face talking about ANYTHING 🫀 Kisses from Chile 🌈
I'm sorry you're so full of hate and you feel the need to project it on to people around you. I hope you seek help soon and start your journey of healing. You are loved xx
Jonathan, I use the entire JVN Hair line and it really saved my hair. I had given up on having nice hair. Now, I feel like a Boss. Thank you so much! Stay fabulous!!!❤
I just turned 30, and my hair has started to thin 💔 thank you for this video! Can we see maybe some hairstyle tutorials for finer but long hair? Thank you, love you so much!
I was surprised that I teared up a little at the end ❤️ I have fine hair and a similar wave pattern to Jonathan’s, but it is sometimes straighter, too. When my hair is damp I place small claw clips near the roots along the part area at the top and on the sides where I want lift, and I leave them until my hair is dry. Then, I put my fingers at the roots and gently lift anywhere I want more volume. This softens or makes the part disappear and also encourages more wave, curl and volume. If need be, I do this on second and third day hair, too, by rewetting my hair slightly and repeating the clipping.
Thank you for this video! My hair started thinning around 21 in nursing school. It got really bad and I just blamed hormones. I saw my mom’s hairstylist and she told me to get on minoxidil, and I’ve been on it for 6 months and my self confidence is slowly coming back. I love all these tips and will definitely try the new ones. Thank you for the message at the end. Very important to hear
Thank you so much for this video! I just started losing hair at 35 due to stress induced alopecia. It has been so hard and so distressing (I am going to a dermatologist). Thank you for shedding some light on the finer hair girlies because yes it can be hard to find things that work. I also LOVE the Aveda tonic as well, I’ve been using that for years. Thank you, Jonathan!!! ❤❤
Your videos are literally like a morning mantra. They always make me feel amazing and give the best advice while reminding me to be kind to myself. Thank you so much love you JVN and your team and your products! ❤
Thank you for this. My hair came in fine and almost straight! (gasp) after a lot of trauma at one point where I shaved my whole head and changed my lifestyle around. My whole young life it had been thick and wavy but no more. Now I'm in menopause so I'm losing hair too. I have been struggling to embrace my new texture and learn to be more gentle. But I'm not willing to cut it "old lady short" because growing it out long again is a symbol of post traumatic growth for me after leaving those situations for good.
I am going through exactly this ❤ I feel you and we’re gonna be ok! I also am not cutting my hair short. I shaved my head in 2020, and have been trying to grow it out since, healthier. So yeah, it was defeating when I started losing hair after I stopped birth control and went back on it again.
Omg here for the tips!! Fine hair and super high forehead, always been a sore point for me. The pep talk... I needed this! Now.. how to turn your voice into my morning alarm so that I get up and slay the day . Thank you JVN 🎉for you!! ❤
First, I love Jonathan so much! Insta happy. And, yes, switching up the part and Toppik (in moderation) has been a god send for me. Plus a fringe! There is hope! XO
I was born with very fine hair and not much but I am thrilled over the years how much products have changed and supported us fine folk!!! I did make the mistake of over bleaching as it puffed my hair out and made my scalp less visible but also fried my hair so no to over doing that! I use voluminous shampoo and a strengthening repair conditioner, I keep the crown highlighted slightly and the-rest of my hair shiny with Demi permanent colour. Heat protector makes a huge improvement and if you can, let you hair dry naturally every now and then. And yes, I do use JVN shampoo and conditioner and the heat protector! I also find the scalp oil strengthen my new little crown hairs, I know it’s not for that but ❤these…. I do love love love these fine hair tip videos, thank you
My dermatologist and I talked about my hair loss. Two of her recommendations was to take a multivitamin and vitamin D to help with shedding hair and for my loss. That’s in conjunction with using minoxidil daily, plus I use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner three times a week.
Jonathan, thank you for your positivity! I suffer from level 4 Alopecia on the crown & front hairline. I have baby fine hair. I really appreciate this video. I use toppiks sometimes but usually I just focus on doing pretty makeup 💄 & put on a cute hat to leave the house. Financially Rogaine got too expensive for me to keep up. Continue being you & thanks again! Your friend from Montreal 😘
@jvn kind of off topic but your eyes looked so beautiful throughout this video, I couldn’t stop looking at them 😍 as a fine haired person, I also have a wave/curl pattern so it looks like I’ve always got loads of hair, and my face shape is kind of a toss up between oval and diamond shaped so I can rock any parting I want. I’m going to focus on what I have going forward in 2025 and learn to be so thankful instead of focusing on what I don’t have and comparing myself to others
Sent this to my gorgeous mama!! I use mostly JVN haircare and my hair is the best it's ever been. I have bald spots on my crown, and I can't wait to try some of these. Love you JVN.🎉❤
Thank you for these tips! Always getting frustrated with my hair, and as someone who has a hard time bringing myself to actually buying products for myself or putting in the effort, a lot of what I am working on is just acceptance. I would be the bane of your existence as a hair dresser, knowing that I know all the tips but still don’t do anything with them!!!
Love toppiX. I use 2 colors to get a better match to my silver. Sprinkle the white then the gray. Works perfectly to cover the shining scalp. Definitely double wash and concentrated on scalp.
Thank you so much for all the gorgeous tips! I've always had thin, fine hair but I'm also losing a lot of hair now. The past couple years have really lowered my self confidence and now I just throw my hair up. My scalp is also tender. I don't brush my hair as much these days. If only you and your whole Queer Eye team could come to Montana and fix me up, that would be Fab 😍😍😍
I am in my twenties and started losing hair around the hair line (most likely due to a medication change). I always had low vitamin B and started taking daily biotin upon dermatologist recommendation and I could not believe how much my body needed that extra boost! Took a few months to get hair back in my hair line but the vitamins actually really help (if you need them).
What brand of biotin? I used it but then kept hearing/reading it wouldn’t help hair loss so I stopped. Apparently it’s extremely rare to be deficient in biotin🤷🏼♀️
Thank you jvn, for saying that I really needed to hear that, after I heard about you saying to stop comparing myself with other people I just made myself 😢, so thank you
Thank you so much for these tips! My hair has noticeably thinned over the last 4 years and it really gets to me. When I have gone to a salon for hair cuts, it is the first thing they mention and makes me super self conscious. I just got my hair cut last month and again it was brought up. The stylist joked about it trying to make it a lighter convo but it still got to me. He gave me a couple tips though, including blow drying and products to try. It has helped achieve a fuller look, but overall still working through confidence issues. I will try these tips you mentioned! Thanks
I have been blessed with my dads fine hair 😂 the tips that were mentioned here that I’ve tried that work for me are switching up the part, curtain bangs that are new to me and have made a HUGE change in the fullness look, dry shampoo on clean hair, claw clip instead of hair ties (that had been causing breakage on my bottom layers on hair without my knowledge, and less heat styles but totally doing a big volume style while drying on medium heat to train the hair in a certain forward direction
Needed this!! Thankyou! Would you be able to do a video on tips for those with chronic illnesses who have thinning hair, as I have so much hair that is shedding and it’s so depressing literally seeing in my hands, shower, clothes etc how sick I am, and I’ve been trying different styles like vintage waves etc but turns out on already thinning hair, I’m just getting even more breakage from all the brushing! A way to be able to style my hair without heat, and without too much tension or tugging, or brushing out, so my hair looks fuller would be brilliant… I’ve been putting my hair in heatless curls overnight in a scarf but I worry even that is too much tension on my hair, and I can’t wear my hair straight because it looks so thin at the ends and flat, and my hair is far too dyed to be permed 😅 I’m going to try and see a hair specialist at Philip Kingsley but a video solely focused on those with chronic illnesses - general dos and donts for healthier looking hair/least damaging styling techniques would be amazing 🥹 Thankyou for your amazing work, self, and attitude as ever. Lots of love 💖💖💖💖
I have fine hair and I do get down sometimes because it’s so flat, but these tips are so helpful so thank you Jonathan you have been my teacher for ages on here love your videos and love you hunii. A game changer for me recently has been using voluminous shampoo, and using Velcro rollers in my hair. And just doing a big old head flip. My hair has got bounce for now anyways haha. ❤ x
Love u doll question for u i have fine hair but a lot of it ( i i’m going through the second part of my life) and I’ve started to have parts of my hair, wavy and parts of my hair straight. How do I style it and what is a good haircut for that style to make it last thank you
I started blowing my hair upside down from your last video. But I also started putting cool air through it while it was upside down. my hair is very thick I thought it was fine but I'm not sure now because of this video LOL I thought find was a texture?
Would you have any tips for fine but really thick hair in terms of the amount? I have subtle layers and because it's wavy, I have a kind of shaggy bob. I use moisturising shampoo and conditioner and don't do anything else, just air dry it.
Jonathan, my dear, how would you handle fine but dense hair? I have fine, dense hair, with a slight wave to it too. I haven't seen any suggestions at all that can explain how to help this hair type. Who should I look to? What should people with my fine/dense hair type look for? Thanks in advance, dear.
Second question - i've tried dry shampoo but i just can't seem to get it right. i can't aim at my roots without help. it leaves a white residue that i can't comb out and it just makes me look like i have week old sick bed hair. what am i doing wrong? i even tried using WAY less than i think i should and getting someone to aim the can for me. For context my hair is very thin and long, past my armpits. The dry shampoo just seems to get caught in there and doesn't come out like it's said to.
"We got a lot of fine hair people out here, that need tips." LOLOLOLOLOL Okay, I laughed so hard. Gutteral Lololololol I love you ♥ Yes! We have fine and thinning hair. Before covid, I took my hair, skin and nails vitamins, and everything was great in thick hair land. Then, after covid. My hair falls out, there is a huge clump stuck in my brush every single time I brush my hair. Which, leads me to not brush it, which leads to more breakage when I do. Help me! ♥ It's just overall dryer feeling. I still take my vitamins, but it isn't helping my existing hair. I feel like it's helping new hairs grow in, because I see their little pop-ups.
The majority of advice for fine hair is geared only towards hair that is fine and thin. Mine is fine but I have a lot of it, and it’s curly. Volume is not a problem, although sometimes I envy the volume of people like Manes by Mell. I knew this advice wouldn’t be for me, but still enjoyed watching! 🦄
I have had fine hair for forever. it's not thinning actively just very fine (can't keep a bobby pin in without hairspray). do you have any videos about fine hair?
THANK YOU my hair is sooo thin/fine and I I just made a video reviewing JVN hair because it SAVED ME. Also, if the instant recovery serum is ever discontinued, I'm shaving it all off 🤣
Jonathan, queen! I had a new stylist tell me today not to color my fine hair because it will increase hair loss. Is that true? She said only use “Demi” color on my hair. My hair is thinning, I’ve been using hair color for years and years to cover grey. Thoughts?
My mom is 81 and has had the same blond old lady bouffant since the dawn of time. Does not wash it herself at home; gets it done every Friday morning, and if it’s bad weather, my dad drives her to the salon. She has fine hair and insists she needs the bouffant for volume. My dad has thick, jet black hair (well mostly gray now)… and guess what hair I, their daughter, inherited?! I lost the hair lottery, dammit! I come from a long line of vain southern women and I better have thick, swingy hair in Heaven! 😇😈
I've heard multiple times now that I shouldn't be putting conditioner near by scalp and towards the ends only or it will fall out more, is there any truth to this? Cuz I do shed a LOT
I dunno about fallout, but putting conditioner on or near your scalp will make it greasy much quicker and you’ll have to wash more frequently. Keep conditioner on the mid lengths and ends only
Hey from Spain 🇪🇸 ❤ 55 year old, fine hair, thinning due to menopause and it also breaks at the ends 😢. Just past collar length but i can literally see my neck through it 😢...help if possible with product/styling tips ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the fine hair tips but please answer me this! What about us fine + grey hair beauties? Do I buy products for fine hair or course grey hair? I have about 60% fine wavy hair and 40% course grey hair - and I air dry. JVN products have helped a ton but I can't help but think I am not using the right products for half my hair. I can't find *anyone* answering this challenge. Thanks :)
Nope, they are both different! But many of these tips may work for both. Many people have a lot of fine hair. And many people have thin thick hair. But some of the products and tips may work for both.
@@jvn okay thank you Jonathan dyslexic 80s baby over here LOL I think I'm going to go with fine thick hair my ponytail is about 4 and 1/2 in around my hair is very straight.🥰💚
Those people are unknowingly showing their true colours, it’s a reflection of them, not Jonathan. Let them hate, they’re only doing themselves a disservice
"You are Beautiful! The fact that you are here when it could have been the egg next to that egg, and it could have been the next sperm over swimming...It is a LITERAL mathematical miracle that you are here! So that is amazing! Don't forget your beauty, don't forget your worth!" -JVN ❤🔥😍❤🔥

You are a blessing. If only all human beings were like you the world would be an extraordinary place.
I was surprised that I teared up a little at the end ❤️

76 years old fine, thin hair 👍 your JVN Foam in MODERATION when I blow dry my short layered hair by scrunching with my fingers.
Love this!!!! ❤ Plus the words of affirmation at the end!!!! Yes! 🙌 ❤
I love this hair tips and emotional self care. Now I know why my hair feels flat between colouring. Thank you , you are loved and appreciated.
Thanks, beautiful! The number one comment I get on my hair is that "it's very fine, but you have a lot of it." Tips are appreciated 👏🏻

I am in my twenties and started losing hair around the hair line (most likely due to a medication change). I always had low vitamin B and started taking daily biotin upon dermatologist recommendation and I could not believe how much my body needed that extra boost! Yes!!! I swear by both medication and supplements for hair health and loss prevention.

Wow! You are such a hair smarty pants. Thank you as always for making us smarter too. 😌
Love these tips! Im wondering what you think of hair growth products like Vegamor? I used that an really thought it helped!
Would you have any tips for fine but really thick hair in terms of the amount? I have subtle layers and because it's wavy, I have a kind of shaggy bob. I use moisturising shampoo and conditioner and don't do anything else, just air dry it.
I love a perm. Oh that 80s and 90s. I remember sitting at my Grandma's table and everybody was getting a perm LOL🥰🤭
I have thick wavy and curls I need help my hairdresser used thinning shears and put layers in will not do anything it go straight 😅
P.s Jonathan could you do a video of clip in hair extensions and you putting them in your hair? Tutorial. X

You have a GIFT for making people feel good in such a genuine way ❤
Are you saying fine hair means thin hair?
Nope, they are both different! But many of these tips may work for both. Many people have a lot of fine hair. And many people have thin thick hair. But some of the products and tips may work for both.
@@jvn okay thank you Jonathan dyslexic 80s baby over here LOL I think I'm going to go with fine thick hair my ponytail is about 4 and 1/2 in around my hair is very straight.🥰💚
I love how you wearing a dress upsets people. I also love your hair advice 😂 happy 2025 to ya
Those people are unknowingly showing their true colours, it’s a reflection of them, not Jonathan. Let them hate, they’re only doing themselves a disservice
@ I agree. I don’t encourage negativity, but I accept it, because as you said it shows people’s true side. Have a lovely week, hon 💗💗
