It has gotten me to get out and explore, not only my area, but new places to hike and camp out. You have taught me a lot about the outdoors. Safety being one of the main things. So I wanted to thank you for all your amazing content. Looking forward to what 2023 brings.

If you want to go this far north. Jan and feb are normally the coldest times of the year. By the second week of Feb we have a mid winter thaw. Today its above 30.

... I for one ,, appreciate the comment about not building multiple firepits ,, some sites are destroyed by burned and and excessive rock pits ... and when using a ground stove of any kind ,, clearing the ground cover away a reasonable amount where set up will be .......Especially for a UA-camr possibly showing a new young hiker how things should be done ....
... When setting camp when weather is projected ,, to help keep inside of tent dry from draining rain ,,, trench outside perimeter around tent enough to flow away from tent and even camp area ..doesn't take much work or time ....
... North and South Dakota weather pretty much sucks this time of year and this years weather patterns are extreme so far ... I think Texas would be a better choice for a winter trip but even they have been getting some tough storms of late ... even snow and ice along with devastating tornadoes .... just have to check ahead ...
.. I agree ,, I also always take along a tarp ,, so many uses ,, best for the money are from DD Hammocks or Aquaquest ....

We were hit before Buffalo NY was and we just went through 3 days of epic snowfall. We are used to it as natives to the state. But some from more balmy climes would likely have dificulty. Luke I have been a follower for quite some time now and have made many purchases based on your reccomendations. My only regret in purchasing the Snugpak Endurance 40 is the sturdiness of the fabric and that it has zero structure(both of which you made very clear in your review BTW!). Right now I am trying to decide between a Gen2 ILBE and a Jakaari L as my main pack for the next 10-15 years and would LOVE to see such a comparison as I feel they are fairly similar in nature and design! You are always asking your loyal followers for comparison suggestions and I feel this would make a great product study! Thanks again! Bill Doyle in NJ

Hope you had a Merry Christmas Luke, and I'm not bias... Well maybe, but Texas is fantastic for outdoors stuff, alot of driving can be done here and a lot of different environments to experience, desert, hills, mountains, forests, plains, coastal, flat land, canyons ect!

Thank you for another great video! Hope your holidays were great for you and your loved ones. Age and some health issues prevent me from camping like you do. Consequently, I enjoy what you share. Carry on.

Thank you tarps tarps tarps. Almost better than duct tape. With a tarp you can make the most worthless tent water proof. Ps. Try camping Florida in the winter.

I have a question for you. Why don't you ever go back to the shack. That was made of black locust wood. And do a gear review. I actually would like to build one when I am able to get some land of my own.

A couple of drops of super glue on the zipper pull knots will keep them from coming undone. Nice camping trip, listening to rain from under a tent / tarp is just the best.

Try dipping the knots on your loops in liquid rubber for tool handles , they will stay tied and make a nice ball to grasp

Seems like a little glue or burning the ends of those zipper pull string would help. Or maybe a different knot ?
