2:16 From my experience with Thermal Grizzly pastes are not suitable for laptops with high TGP, TDP where the temperature is close to 80°C for a longer period of time. After 8 months, its thermally conductive properties deteriorate significantly. You should try using phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs in my experience works better than traditional pastes. On the power section, vrams give thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro. It is also good do undervolting on CPU and GPU at -100mV or more if it will be stable. It will be more fps, quieter, cooler and less power will be drawn.
Thank you for your valuable feedback. I want to express my agreement with your points while also sharing my extensive 17-year experience in testing and servicing laptops and electronics. Throughout my career, I have observed that whether you use Thermal Grizzly paste or non-expiring pads, dust and air buildup are inevitable over time. Therefore, it becomes essential to open the laptop and perform cleaning and servicing at least once every two years to maintain optimal performance. In my testing, I have personally used both Thermal Grizzly paste and the Thermal Grizzly graphite pad (known for its long-lasting properties). After a continuous three-year period, both products yielded similar results to what they provided on the first day of application. However, due to the accumulation of dust, the temperatures for both increased, with the paste being approximately +3°C warmer than the graphite pad. Despite the three-year daily usage of 8 hours side by side, the thermal paste's temperature only rose by +4-5°C compared to the graphite pad. The significant dust buildup and the laptops reaching temperatures of 85°C and above made it imperative to perform a service on both devices. I understand that data sheets for thermal materials may indicate specific performance attributes, but real-life testing over a continuous three-year period provides invaluable insights. To gain accurate results, I encourage others to conduct tests using the same model laptops, under identical conditions, and with similar loads. While I would typically agree with conclusions drawn solely from data sheets, my practical experience with clients ranging from school teachers to graphical designers, and gamers, has shown minimal differences in performance among various paste models, makes, and types from top brands. The graphite pad stands out as a recommended option due to its reusability and its ability to retain its properties under heat. To further explore the thermal performance of products like PTM7950 or liquid metal, I intend to subject them to thorough testing and assess their long-term results. Ultimately, I'm confident that PTM7950 will deliver outstanding performance over time. In conclusion, I believe that combining data sheets with real-life testing is the most comprehensive approach to making informed decisions about thermal solutions for laptops. Thank you again for your feedback cheers🍻
@@uFixTek hello sir, I have Nitro5 AN515-45 R7 5800H + 3050Ti. I repasted it using GELID GC4 recently. it works well for a week but then it starts hitting very high temperatures again. Hi, got tips on how to fix the keyboard area heating up when being used in games? mine's absurdly heats up during gaming in the top-mid area (F2 to End Key - Letter A to #5 in NumPad) already did repasting and even using thermal putty (unit's been with me for about 3 yrs now) but the area still heats up
🫠Regarding your question, that area will always heat up as it sits right over the heatsink and the exhaust area for the hot air. If you apply the best thermal paste, it may get even hotter because the heatsink absorbs the heat more effectively. The heat is caused by the heatsink, not the motherboard. This is completely normal for these models. cheers🍻
Hi mate can i ask some question regarding the pinkish thermal ( i recall you said its thermal putty right ? ) Is it the the same with the pads ? Or ahould i just change it with the thermal putty instead? Thank you

hi, I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57-55XN laptop and I want to replace the pink thermal pad, what size should I replace the thermal pad, is it 1.0 mm? or 1.5mm
Regarding your question, if you had watched the video right @8:00 min i have pointed and said that those are NOT thermal pads, as they are thermal putty. if you place a thermal pad there a 1mm it will counter push the heatsink away from the gpu and cpu and the results will be catastrophic temps. and if you place a .5mm then it will not cool down the vram and the components. the reason that they used the thermal putty if because of the distance of the rams are not even like .5 or 1mm. i recommend you to get a good brand thermal putty like: amzn.to/4apNySp or get a cheap putty from aliexpress. There is no thermal putty in my city and i cannot order from amazon or any other website like aliexpress. Can I use the girzzly thermal pads of 0.5mm or 1mm on the VRMs, If so what thickness do you reccomend 0.5mm or 1mm.
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both! Regarding your question, the reason that they use the Putty is because the gap is not even number. i highly recommend you try to get it from a laptop repair shop some putty. because if you put a thick pad it will counter push the heatsink aways from cpu and it will result in a very bad temps. note, you could buy a .5mm pads and stack them to fill the gap. thermal pads are stackable without any issues. the gap is somewhere .67mm if you need to know. Went to a pc service store and they did it for me along with a ram upgrade, because i was too scared to fuck it up and break my laptop lol I have the laptop since 3 years it really needed a good cleaning and thermal paste replacement
When I was doing it to my computer I had got a little alcohol on the tape and so I became no longer sticky so I just peeled it off. On Mine it was little different and there was only 2 pieces of tape and I got it on both so I took off both. So my question is if the tape has an important purpose cause I don’t know if I should replace quickly or not.

🫠Regarding your question, the screwdriver I'm using is linked in the video description. Use a screwdriver that fits perfectly, press down into the screw, and rotate slowly to break the tightness. cheers🍻
🫠Regarding your question, too thick it will counter push the heatsink away from GPU/CPU and you will have a bad temps. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both! Regarding your question, absolutely not recommend you, because the gap is not .5mm nor 1mm, so that is why you need to use the putty, if you use the thermal pad, it will push the heatsink away from the GPU and CPU, resulting in poor performance and high temps. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
13:20 I’m trying to put the computer back together, but I can’t connect the wifi card cables back together. There’s so tiny and can’t put them back on right. Idk how u make this sound so easy, but something ain’t right. How do I get it on?

@@uFixTek It snaps on, but then falls right off, and it’s really annoying to do. But I found out that I didn’t REALLY need the wifi card per se bc I still get wifi and Ethernet n stuff without it. I’m assuming the wifi card gives u Bluetooth n stuff right? Or does it include other stuff? I bought a Bluetooth dongle for like $15 and it should work perfectly fine.
it gives wifi and Bluetooth , if you near the laptop the Bluetooth will work. or get a dongle. but it should not fall off, you can use a gafers tape to keep it in place or hot glue.
Update: I bought that bluetooth dongle, and it doesn't work properly. It gives me error code 31 when listed in device manager. Could this issue be due to the disconnection of the wifi card?

🫠Regarding your question, yes, thermal paste and thermal putty are indeed different. Both are used to transfer heat, but they serve different purposes. Thermal paste is primarily used on CPU and GPU die surfaces to ensure efficient heat transfer between the chip and the heatsink. It's designed to fill in the microscopic gaps on these delicate surfaces. On the other hand, thermal pads are often used on electronic components where the gap between the surfaces is uniform, typically around 0.5mm, 1mm, or 2mm. When the gap is uneven, that's where thermal putty or thermal gel comes into play. Thermal putty is ideal for filling larger or irregular gaps, ensuring proper heat transfer where thermal paste or pads wouldn't be effective. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

mine's absurdly heats up during gaming in the top-mid area (F2 to End Key - Letter A to #5 in NumPad)
already did repasting and even using thermal putty (unit's been with me for about 3 yrs now) but the area still heats up
🫠Regarding your question, that area will always heat up as it sits right over the heatsink and the exhaust area for the hot air. If you apply the best thermal paste, it may get even hotter because the heatsink absorbs the heat more effectively. The heat is caused by the heatsink, not the motherboard. This is completely normal for these models.

Hi mate can i ask some question regarding the pinkish thermal ( i recall you said its thermal putty right ? )
Is it the the same with the pads ?
Or ahould i just change it with the thermal putty instead?
Thank you
🫠Regarding your question, use the thermal putty for the VRAMs only and don't use pads on the VRAMs. Use pads on the other components. I have linked the thermal putty in the video description.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

@@uFixTek thanks for the reply ,
May I know which thermal pad should I use ? 1mm or 1.5mm ?
It's my pleasure my friend.
use 1mm
Hey can i use the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme as thermal putty?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, absolutely NOT! don't do that. you will damage the components because of over heating, get this: K5 PRO : amzn.to/48pchFh

hi, I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57-55XN laptop and I want to replace the pink thermal pad, what size should I replace the thermal pad, is it 1.0 mm? or 1.5mm
Regarding your question, if you had watched the video right @8:00 min i have pointed and said that those are NOT thermal pads, as they are thermal putty.
if you place a thermal pad there a 1mm it will counter push the heatsink away from the gpu and cpu and the results will be catastrophic temps.
and if you place a .5mm then it will not cool down the vram and the components. the reason that they used the thermal putty if because of the distance of the rams are not even like .5 or 1mm.
i recommend you to get a good brand thermal putty like:
amzn.to/4apNySp
or get a cheap putty from aliexpress.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Hi we can use thermal grizzly kryonaut on both cpu and gpu?
And should I change thermal putty with that pink thermal paste?
I get 92 dgree for cpu while gaming I7 11800h
I just give it to some people to change thermal paste but It got worst cpu temp is around 91-94 now
I want to buy a thermal grizzly for it hoping it will decrease cpu temp
What's your opinion?
🫠Regarding your question, make sure you get a original thermal grizzly and apply a nice amount to the CPU and GPU and replace the thermal putty with pink or any other thermal putty.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

@@uFixTek one last question
Should I change the thermal paste? I mean some people told me that 92 degree for cpu is normal under heavy game idk if I should change it or no
2 years ago it was aroung 78-85 for cpu
Am I killing my when I play 2-3H with 92 dgree.?
I7 11800h with tjmax 100dgree
92c is NOT normal under load, 85c is ok underload for that laptop. but 90+ not.
repaste the laptop always once a year if you heavy user.
Thank you so freaking much now I get 240fps

Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

@@uFixTek would it be possible for me to use grizzly kryonaut on vram and cpu gpu because a lot of people say its ok to use.
Thank you very much for response
i been repairing for 18 years and any of my experienced friend and simple knowledge of paste and putty.
never use paste where there is putty, you will over very short time damage the components.
What would you recommend to use as the thermal putty instead of thermal pads?
i repasted my laptop, but the tape on my cpu fan on the top side is not sticky anymore, is that a problem or should i replace it?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!

@@uFixTek thank u for the reply!
It's my pleasure my friend.
Went to a pc service store and they did it for me along with a ram upgrade, because i was too scared to fuck it up and break my laptop lol
I have the laptop since 3 years it really needed a good cleaning and thermal paste replacement
im glad that you got it serviced, maybe next time you will try to do it your self 🫠 and of you need any help im always here
cheers🍻
When I was doing it to my computer I had got a little alcohol on the tape and so I became no longer sticky so I just peeled it off. On Mine it was little different and there was only 2 pieces of tape and I got it on both so I took off both. So my question is if the tape has an important purpose cause I don’t know if I should replace quickly or not.
🫠Regarding your question, you don't need to worry it will not affect the performance of the laptop at all. zero issues.

Can you sir do a video of applying thermal putty I ordered cx-h1300 thermal putty will it work or not and my model is an515-45 is the thickness of thermal pads is 1 mm or another
🫠Regarding your question, the thermal putty all you need to to place a bulb on the components and it will squish into place.
@@uFixTek thank you sir and I want to know If also the thickness of the thermal pad of my model an515-45 is 1mm
or another one
It's my pleasure my friend, also the pads are it is 1mm thick.
The screws on the left of the heatsink won’t budge for me 😢. Maybe im using the wrong screwdriver what are you using?
🫠Regarding your question, the screwdriver I'm using is linked in the video description.
Use a screwdriver that fits perfectly, press down into the screw, and rotate slowly to break the tightness.
cheers🍻
@@uFixTek Thanks for helping I will get back to you after purchasing a new screwdriver
@@uFixTek was an easy and effective tutorial thanks. I just needed a PH0
can i use 2mm thermal pads for the chips? or is it too thick?
🫠Regarding your question, too thick it will counter push the heatsink away from GPU/CPU and you will have a bad temps.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
cheers🍻
@@uFixTek thank you for your respond. And which thickness should i use?
It's my pleasure my friend.
1.5mm
@@uFixTek thank you, one more question😆 u said in the video that these pads are 1mm, so should i use 1 or 1.5 mm?
they are 1mm but recommend you use 1.5mm
can i use 0.2 mm thermal pads to replace the thermal putty?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, absolutely not recommend you, because the gap is not .5mm nor 1mm, so that is why you need to use the putty, if you use the thermal pad, it will push the heatsink away from the GPU and CPU, resulting in poor performance and high temps.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
@@uFixTekthank you for answering my question, can you make tutorial on how to replace the thermal putty because i rarely find a video about it?
just apply fair amount and the heatsink will squeeze the execs out from sides, it is not conductive and just place fair amount.
@@uFixTek What about the voltage regulators? Can you use thermal paste/putty on them or should you strictly use thermal pads?
you can use thermal putty without any issues
Hi! Every thing was good until I had put back this two small cables from left fan. They are black and white cables. Please can you help me😢
what you need help with my friend?
13:20 I’m trying to put the computer back together, but I can’t connect the wifi card cables back together. There’s so tiny and can’t put them back on right. Idk how u make this sound so easy, but something ain’t right. How do I get it on?
🫠Regarding your question, all you need is to make sure it is straight over the connector and push downs and it will snap to the connector, just make sure you place straight over the connector.
imgur.com/a/3U6y5rA
@@uFixTek I bought a dongle for like $15. I have one on my other PC at my dads, and it works just fine. Should see the same results on my laptop.
Update: I bought that bluetooth dongle, and it doesn't work properly. It gives me error code 31 when listed in device manager. Could this issue be due to the disconnection of the wifi card?

Wait are thermal paste and thermal putty different?

@@uFixTek thanks but it appears this is for the older version of helios. Is helios 16 the same?
yes it is the same, you can clean the fan without removing the heatsink. the fan is not attached to the heatsink, just peal off the gaffers tape.
