If its encrypted then the answer would be no. If the phone was purchased with 5.x and upgraded to 6 and even 7, the data would not be encrypted even on the S6.

Galaxy s7 came out originally with android 7 that was encrypted so unless you disabled encryption with a different version, it will be encrypted
