Great video ! It is very interesting to see you use every part of the daikon 😊 when I was a kid, my father often said that nothing is lost in the kitchen, every part of ingredients find a use !
Excellent! I make some Korean dishes that use daikon, and I’ve pickled and grated it for sides, but there always seems to be a chunk I don’t know what to do with. Now I do!
This is a great video. I love daikon. I have to go to a Japanese grocery store here to get nice ones. But they never have the greens on top like yours. I am practicing my Katsuramuki but it still needs a lot of work. My nephew just returned from Japan and brought me some Goma Yuzu sauce and Goma Tofu and very nice Sake. I am very excited to eat them!! I love that ladle you use with the side spout. Who makes that? I might be able to find one here. I am lucky to live in California with lots of Japanese supplies available.
Thank you for your comment! It really motiveate me😁 I hope you'll find nice daikon. That's nice! When I was a student, I practiced Katsuramuki so often. You'll be definitely better and better. I wish you'll enjoy your nephew's suveniers! This ladle is very popular and we'll find it easily. I hope you'll find it too!! In the future, I'd like to go to California🇺🇸
I love the bonito flake bag! Since I have started to grow daikons myself, I am really happy to see this video! I also shared it with several people who are interested in cooking.
That was brilliant,I watched this twice,I love all the ways you use daikon.I might have to go to the market downtown to get daikon with leaves intact.I can use rice cooker too, I think. Are big daikon or smaller daikon better, because at one time I saw a very big daikon ,I was worried that it might be tough!
Thank you very much! I’m so happy about your comment. I hope you’ll find daikon with leaves and enjoy daikon dishes. Probably big and small are both👍 Thank you!!
Very nice cooking! Daikon daisuki. Sometimes when chopping. you curl your left fingers under...but sometimes you don't. Abunai desuyo! Please curl your fingers when you chop or slice. It's an important Japanese technique for safety.
I really like how the different recipes use similar ingredients but are very distinct from each other, a good way to use a whole vegetable!
