Because the p365 is modular, i have the icarus grip module, I don't get too many holster choices with the thumb ledge. But as long as I use a light on gun, I can use any macro holster!
That, for me, is one of the only real reasons to use a mounted light on your EDC. If you are having significant issues finding a holster that will work.
@@ce5495 thank you. I just didn’t trust a lot of other things I had seen online and that’s how this all started. And you are correct, full time job, full time dad/husband, and hobby firearm enthusiast hah. I’m sure a lot of the things I’ll say won’t get me any sponsorships but I’m fine with that. This is for fun and mostly a learning experience. Thank you again for the kind words.
I agree with your logic on a EDC WML, except for some scenarios you're maybe not considering. You know, a "get home" or "get out" in a tinfoil hat scenario. A little extra width on the holster is worth the insurance if a whatif situation occurs. For me. YMMV. Shalotek looks real nice, but I've been more than happy with a Mischief Machine Commander Macro module for the last year and a half. More girth, and with LOK grip panels and backstrap, very good grip. Also, I'm in Florida, so it's always summer carry, and I have to tuck shirts at work, so the Enigma is my go-to (and I agree, it's a royal PITA to set up, and had to go third-party for a leg strap solution).
Yeah there really are only good reasons to have a light but I’ve just finally made the call that they would be just insanely rare. Again just my personal choice. As far as tucking the shirts in have you tried the Ulti-tuck I believe it’s called?
@@SmallArmsFirearms Yeah, I spent/spend an inordinate amount of time practicing my draw when tucked, and even with that it's a LOT slower getting a "deep conceal" AIWB into action than "conventional" AIWB. Which is why I pretty much discarded using the XL or smaller sized grips for EDC when at work, I NEED that Macro length real estate in the grip when tucked.
I’m skinny like you and in the summer with a tshirt and shorts the 365 setup that hides well for me is the WC XL grip with the original slide 3.1 barrel/iron sites.
That’s pretty much what I had been using. I have yet to get my hand on the WC grip and I’d like to compare them one day as the price is a huge difference.
I’ve been looking at that grip module and a similar one from Smith Defense called the “S365” I believe. They both are similar in that they can be customized to the length of slide and grip you want. I believe the “S365” is slightly cheaper though….
Nice job on the review. I was thinking about the xlr-12 myself, utilizing a short p365 slide/PMM comp w/ Mag Guts 14+1 baseplate. Currently, I can just 'barely' get all three amigos onto X/XL frames. I'm hoping it will be comfortable considering the added width and baseplate. What size gloves do you wear?
Im in the same boat, i run both the XL and the Macro frames during the year, depending on where i am and the weather. Wings Definitely help on the holster but i like finding holsters that have a suede or cordura material on them. I find that i sweat more with just straight kydex against the body than i do with a fabric or material on the holster.
That would be nice for comfort for sure. The belly band would solve that for you since the neoprene is against you and not Kydex. I’m stuck with limited holster options with the Shalotek and thumb throttle. Just waiting on my 2nd slimfit holster to get here.
Have you looked into the Ramm Tactical trigger? Seems like a slick option for a shorter length of pull and shorter reset. Sig Guy has a great video out on it.
@@ScottyJ2011 I only just recently heard about it. Someone else commented on my p365 trigger video about it. The bestest summer EDC. But I would’ve gotten the subcompact slide and the PMM ultra(?). The one with the 3-port comp. So dang cool.
