I have found my FAVORITE channel to watch. I'm 73 years old and have been wheeling all my life from when I started at 7 hears old with my dad.. Totally enjoy watching what you share. Keep it up. Colt was having way too much fun in his new toy. Was killing the rocks with it and didn't seem to afraid to get in there and push it around. So now you get to choose some upgrades to the crawler or slide in another 4.0.

  • @muddyWW

    See, that's how you handle a bad day on the trail. You don't throw stuff, curse and yell, punch things, or get mad and make everyone else not want to be around you. You take it like a man ( or woman) and just accept the fact sh*t happens and it's all repairable, you roll with the punches and look forward to how you can upgrade it.
    Keep it a 4.0 or a stoker 4.0 Matt, it's one of the things that makes the Scorpion so special

    Now either build up a 4.0 (bore and stroke to a 4.6/7) , Edelbrock heads, maybe a Banks turbo....or just get a Vortec 4.2 I-6 or 4.3 V-6 with a beefed trans. Should be relatively "easy" to do.

    The Scorpion isn't dead... A simple transplant would put it right back on the trails. But at this point I'm sure Matt has a small list of things he wants to do slightly different with version 2.0. Now he finally has an excuse to make those changes. Possibly 4 wheel steering? The Scorpion is a legend. Scorpion 2.0 will just be an extension of that legacy.

      I know right. Heres my short story experience. I had a 97 that was the same way it was running like a champ for me 75 mph on the freeway around a winding stretch boom everything went dark and dead on the dash I lost all power steering right away my adrenaline kicked in and I forced the wheel to the left and flew off the left side median went airborne landed perfect bounced a bit and coasted to a safe stop and popped the hood to see a 6 inch round window in my block with nothing left but a mess of broken parts. Was running great before that with zero warning signs I was 😤 but then realized I was unbelievably lucky to have got through it alive with cars everywhere around me Washington state patrol showed up real quick.

    Sad to see a motor go; I threw a rod in my xj at christmas and just finished putting a new 4.0 in. This does, however, make me excited for a potential swap. Maybe a TDI? Propane build? Perhaps even a smallblock :P

    • @MrJoshItIs
      @MrJoshItIs 4 роки тому +2

      I like the idea of a TDI for a dedicated rig. Lots of low end torque and it seems the wiring is pretty simple. Light too. Add to that, lots of parts available after dieselgate, can use a smaller tank and/or get lots of range. I think they tend not to overheat if I am not mistaken. That is a lot of reasons.

    I need advice after watching your extreme skill and clearly front and rear lockers that lock up right away. I will never be doing anything like Trail 5, but I do want to be equipped as I explore alone on much more conservative terrain. I have a 96 K2500 Suburban, 7.4L Gas, 8600 GVW. It has a factory "Posi" and open front. I want to install lockers (not like ARB) front and rear and am willing to give up some "chirping" and such on the street for reliability off-road. Is the "original" "Detroit Locker" still around for my rear? I was thinking a Torsen-Type front locker. ANY advice would be substantially appreciated.
