first part maybe but as for the blow torch method.. many Micheline star chefs use a blowtorch to sear foods most notably to caramelize sugar and to glaze ham. the most important part of the process to ensure there is no taste of butane is to use the yellow or orange part of the flame and not the blue. The idea behind a blow torched pizza is sound but you need the correct culinary bluetorch and not the inner blue gassy part of the flame.
