Good ol pier fishing, I remembered when I caught a Halibut off of Newport Beach, CA.
Literally had to get everyone to pull in their fishing poles so I can bring it up.

The grouper here in Queensland are protected. You can't even fish for them. If caught as bycatch then you have to release them as soon as possible. Huge fines apply.

Been watching joeys content for a while he’s a great fisherman. This is a great spot for reds and snook but I can’t stand ppl crossing my line. Some guys don’t even get out the way when you’re tight... nice vid!

You guys should set up jackpots with people on the pier. Keep it cheap, dollar or two entry, derby go for biggest fish within a time limit like and hour or two. You guys aren't allowed because of equipment reasons but help everyone like a deckhand would on a boat. Work the net, keep tally, winner take all or have a first, second, third place. Don't take any proceeds, all for the people. Fun to watch and build community.

Awesome fishing performance. This video brought back some great memories from the past for me. I used to do a lot of pier fishing when I lived in SoCal but, I never hooked into the likes of the fish you caught.

Tell your buddy to put a couple wraps of that rope around the hand rail of the pier, that will make the hand rail hold all the weight and it won’t be bad to raise or lower.

Fish at the inlet alot, I catch monster bull reds mostly west of the overpass with live bait. Fewer line crossings and fishermen.
