I just purchased the exact same car. 2015 Passat limited in white. I got a smokin deal as well. The window sticker was $25400 and change. The dealer discounted the car to $18900 before tax,tag and title. I think the whole emissions debacle has got them in sale mode! I am very pleased. I look forwArd to your future videos on this car. I tell you tho....that is a great looking old 4Runner! Sweet!

+joegolden481 Yeah, I bought mine before the fiasco with the TDIs, so I paid just under sticker - basically at sticker if you include TTL. Oh well, it's something that couldn't have been foreseen. Thanks for the complement on the 4Runner. I'll definitely have more videos on it and the VW in the future. Thanks for watching!

+redonKiLaus how many miles on the Passat now? I had a 2014 Jetta tsi and put 27k miles on it and it gave zero problems. The only little niggles about my Jetta and Passat. The passenger seatbelt chime comes on when you set anything on it. FYI. I work for a company called turbo tech in Chattanooga. We supply engineered parts to the turbo reman companies. Sounds like you know a bit about turbos as well

+joegolden481 I have a bit over 3000 miles on it, no real complaints so far. The front passenger door handle came off, but that was an easy fix - it was never latched from the factory. The seatbelt chime issue is pretty common across all newer vehicles I own and have owned in the past, I just throw any bag I have with me in the back seat or trunk. I do know quite a bit about turbos and designing systems for engines - as a mechanical engineer and a huge car enthusiast, I like to do most everything myself and design much of my own gear.

Congratulations on the new car. It's too bad you're not going to make more videos of the Suzuki Grand Vitara, I have a 2008, really enjoyed and learned a lot from your videos.

Jonathan Ortiz I wish I could have kept the Suzuki, but it was wrecked so hard that it was indisputably totalled - not that I would want to keep a wrecked-then-repaired vehicle anyway. Thanks for watching!

Literally the same as mine. EXACTLY the same.

Man I enjoyed your Suzuki videos for years...and I realised I didn't see any from you in a while. I only just put the pieces in place.... I'm sorry, glad you're ok after the accident. Do you mind saying what exactly happened to your Grand Vitara? Anyway I'm so late...I will miss your Suzuki videos. Enjoy your new car and keep living life to the fullest!
Btw, my Suzuki is still going strong at 280000 kms!

+Akshay Persad Yeah, the Suzuki was wrecked about 8 or 9 months ago. A person pulled out in front of me turning out of a side street and I hit them at full speed. Completely destroyed the front end of the GV, but at least the occupants were well-protected. It's too bad that Suzuki left the US market, since I would have purchased another GV...of course, who knows how long VW will be here ever since the TDI fiasco. If your GV is a 2.7 V6 4WD, I have tons of parts leftover...this is my sale thread on the Suzuki forums if you ever need anything: www.suzuki-forums.com/classifieds-sale-trade/175026-tons-genuine-suzuki-parts-2006-present.html Thank you for the well wishes and thank you for watching!

Great looking car! I am thinking of purchasing one for myself. Same year and trim level. Have you had any issues with it so far? I like to do my own work as well to really get to know my cars. It’s too bad these car makers like to make things hard to replace.

It's been fairly reliable; it's had a few warranty issues, a decent number of recalls, and a couple things I've had to do out of warranty, like replace the antenna gasket (only lasted 3 years, pain to replace) as well as replace 3 batteries. I will say, there are quite a few jobs you can't do without specialized or special service tools (trans fluid, coolant, brakes, etc) so it's not as much of a DIY vehicle as other, older ones are.
Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

redonKiLaus thanks for the info! I purchased a 2015 Passat S model. Not as many features but the deal I got with it only having 28k miles was hard to pass up! I look forward to your videos!

Would u consider an after market sunroof? Been thinking about it but I’m afraid it might affect structural integrity of the car. What do u think, thanks, 👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  6 років тому

ayo30s I definitely would not, because while they should not compromise structural integrity since they do not remove any of the pillars, they do always exhibit issues with poor fit and function, leaks, etc., if not immediately then a few years down the road.
Hope that answers your question, and thanks for watching!

redonKiLaus Yes this was helpful, thank u so much, I guess I’ll order visors for the windows and hood.
I got a 15 Passat tdi, manual in white, with under 21k miles, won’t see it for another week but in pics it looks so plain, thx again, 👊🏾✌🏾

LOL - one of the door handle assemblies already fell off - Mexico assembly quality vs. Japanese assembly quality - I am going to miss our totaled Suzuki with ZERO defects after 8 years of ownership!

Not feeling too good towards VW right now. The diesel issue they have doesn't bother me - I know their cars pollute far less per mile than most vehicles. However, we have already had the windshield split right down the middle - dealer says it was created by an impact. Maybe. But, there is also a safety recall that the cam lobe may break off, then the brake booster fails, and you can't stop the car without a lot of effort - so we have decided to quit driving it. Expected recall fix isn't for a few months. German junk? BTW, the district manager was totally uncooperative. VW = Nie Wieder (never again). I am sticking with Toyota or Nissan!
