As an owner of a 2015 VW passat, I'm actually very happy with the car. I mean, it is very average I have to agree, but I got it for 10 grand, so I got a lot of car for my money. The rear seating is actually a lot larger than you mentioned by the way, its much larger than a camry. The trunk is also huge, and idk what powertrain you were driving, but the 1.8L Turbo is actually decently quick compared to the camry's stupid 8 speed auto that starts from a stop in 4th gear. My mother actually went and bought the 2019 camry and honestly, interior is nicer, but the engine is too loud, the rear seating is mediocre, the trunk is smaller than my old 2000 camry, and it does 0-60 in yes... eventually. I prefer my passat.

Most people who own the VW Passat are not complaining.

I would take a German made Passat over a Range Rover (indian car) and jaguar (English) any day. My 2015 has 215,000 miles and still strong :)

Totally get it where your coming from, I guess ur more of a luxury based guy. I recently got my Passat Wolfsburg. Exact color and car as the one you were driving, and I love it!! Beautiful exterior color, I love the way it drives, and I can’t wait to add some cool mods to it & spice it up. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I love it.

Passat is a very good premium car, maybe not much of luxury ! Just Business level !

    I own a PZEV 2014 SE w/roof 1.8 EA888 Gen 3 bought new. Currently 132,427 miles.
I've owned 7 VW's. Rabbits, Jettas, Golf's, a 2011 base GTI with DSG and this Passat.
Also owned Toyota Celica, Ford Windstar, Ford Explorere AWD, Honda Pilot.
My Chattanooga Tennessee built Passat with over 132K miles has:
    ZERO SQUEAKS and RATTLES
    ZERO mechanical problems
    Original plugs and coils
Trips with cruise control over 40MPG.
Replaced rear rotors and pads at 110K
Amazingly, this vehicle has been the least problems of ANY car I've owned, and I'm 64 years old.
Oil changes (full synthetic) at VW 7,500 intervals
Trans so. (gasket, screen, fluid) 50K (did twice) at VW
Brake fluid changes every two years at VW
Coolant change at 60K (did twice) at VW
    Note:
Every oil change I use BG EPR and BG MOA
Also use BG 44K fuel additive when oil change interval is performed.
On second set of tires. Original Continentals went about 65K, PIRELLI P7 Cinturano's have about another 5K left.
I had a recall for rear main seal DONE
    Recall Takata airbag DONE
    Recall headlight adjustment DONE
I always have the Master Tech from Poland perform all the work including my alignments. He's a conscientious pro..
To say that I'm satisfied with my 2014 PASSAT is a vast understatement. maybe I'm lucky because I maintain my cars so well. I've maintained ALL of my cars well, and NONE have given me the bulletproof service of this Passat, and it's PAID OFF!

Yes, the 2015 Passat Wolfsburg edition is an "average" sedan in some ways. Volkswagen is not a premium German brand like Audi or BMW, and the standard Passat trim level does not contain the same technology package as some entry-level Japanese sedans. But at the same time, comparing this loaner vehicle with Basic trim to a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry with Premium trim does not seem like a fair comparison. For example, neither the entry-level 2015 Accord LX, Camry LE , nor VW Passat S/Wolfsburg edition have a sunroof. But the video seems to incorrectly imply that the entry-level Passat is "missing" options that are included in the entry-level Accord or Camry... At least, that is how it comes across to me.
And as was admitted near the end of this review, the standard Passat suspension and handling geometry is one of the BETTER choices in its class. And the rear passenger / leg room is MUCH MORE than average compared to its competitors, based on personal experience and all other car reviews.
Volkswagen's "Wolfsburg" marketing label can mislead one to believe the car has "premium" options or a "technology package". Sadly, that is Not the case. In 2015, the "Wolfsburg" edition was simply a basic Passat S with cosmetic enhancements like special "Wolfsburg" badging, "limited edition" body color, seating, etc. It does Not include the technology package.
In previous years (decades), the Wolfsburg edition Jetta came with other performance enhancements over the entry-level version. But that is not the case with Passat. Hopefully the 2020 version will be much better!

I purchased a 2015 Wolfsburg three years ago. It is, without a doubt, the best car I have ever bought. I added a new Apple/Android Carplay stereo last year, which was an improvement. I have gone on long trips with it, and it is a smooth ride and very comfortable. The gas mileage is incredible.

He complains a lot about this Passat. What are his credentials? Funny he has to drive this car while his high maintenance BMW (I own both) is in the shop! He mentions Porsche Cayenne being the same price which is not even close and barely gets 20 MPG (and is a Maintenace nightmare) and brags about his Land Rover which has about the worse reputation for reliability of any car ever made. I would say his credibility for car reviews is suspect.

This is one of those videos where the dislike/like ratio is about 4:1. Clickbait is about what I'm thinking this is. This channel is going on my Do Not Recommend list.

APR Stage 1 tunes bumps it to 220hp, 0-60 in 7 seconds.

I'd assume you hadn't manually shifted and 0-60 is a useless metric, 10-40 or 20-60+ is where you'd want to measure.
I had a fully loaded 2014 Passat which was insane in heavy rain. I was doing Lyft, picked up an airline pilot for a 1hr hwy ride. We were going between 70-95mph in the rain and that car was planted asf. I've never driven a better car in the rain. It was better than the redesigned 2016 Passat R-Line I got after. The R-Line was very fast but the brakes were horrible. I was able to keep up with 3 heavily modified C7 Vettes. I told them I could keep up and I did, biggest issue was breaks then getting back up to speed but once back in the powerband it was able to keep up. Our avg. speed for about 15min was 120.
I'm watching this because I'm looking at buying another Passat. Overall that car was just strong asf. It was actually better than this 2018 Camry LE I'm driving now which is a very nice car. However I can tell it needs shocks, possibly struts, brakes, maybe control arms, oil, and a tire rotation.
I felt like the Transporter while driving that Passat.

Pompous is the word...averagely pompous at that...I love my Passat, the turbo power and the design...the only thing average thing is your average review...very average, as you are as a human...extremely average at that.
