Your repair video of this dispenser was spot on. Mine sat dormant for two years, the entire internal tube was a mass of soap gunk. Once cleared it was as good as new. Thanks.
I should have put in the video that I'm going to try and remember to oil the motor once a year. Maybe really make it last. Thank for the comment, glad it was useful.
I used Synco’s Super Lube with Teflon. Only they don’t have Teflon on the label anymore, it’s listed as PTFE. This is a very old ¼ ounce oiler from them. I don’t know if they even have this size any more. The fact that this 30 year plus old oil is still liquid and works, good stuff. But I think any machine oil will do for the motor bushing.
Just fixed mine using this video but I had a different problem. Seems like the soap is leaking into the lower reservoir and cause it to fill up and get pretty gross. Also the small rubber roller on shaft fell off. I cleaned it all up and super glued it to shaft. Hoping it holds up but not sure what to do about leak there. Thanks.
@@metalplasticelectronics354 I didn’t see any cracks. We have never dropped it or anything. Had it about two years so far. I put it all together and am going to keep an eye on the base. If it starts to fill up again I might try some silicone. Thanks again for the video.
April 4, 2023. Mine is flashing red with new batteries. Prior to installing the new batteries, it was flashing red so I pressed the plus button. Looked like nothing was happening so I left it. Then when I looked over, it was continuously dispensing all the contents out. How do I fix this?
Take a look at the PC board. look for any corrosion first thing. U4 might have shorted out. That would cause the motor to run all the time. Only things I can think of.
Mine is doing the exact same thing!! I cleaned it, just like I always have. Put batteries in and tried turning it on but no light was coming on. SO I walk away for a bit and then my flatmate starts calling for me "Your soap dispenser is spewing out all the soap to nobody!! Look, what a waste of soap!"
Hi again, Would you by chance be willing to chat over email? I have some questions regarding your DSPIC33 experience if you are willing. I have a side project dealing with bldc motors and am having a hard time finding documentation that someone without a PHD can understand.

Glad it helped
Excellent video! I took my Simplehuman dispenser apart following you as if we were side by side. Nice clear instructions, narrative and video shots.
This was an incredibly helpful video. Thank you so much for taking the time to create and post it!

Thank you! This gave me the confidence to open it up and not feel like I can’t put it back together
I'm so glad, thanks for the comment.
Outstanding presentation, thank you! I’m off to repair mine with same symptoms.
Hope it goes smoothly.
Love your style, and content! Thanks
Thank you for the very nice comment.
Did you ever get back to replacing the momentary switches with the correct ones? Could you let us know the part number? Enjoyed the video, good job!
This is a great video mine is a 13oz version is totally dead and I'm going to take it apart and see if i can repair it. Thanks for the video.
Thanks
I have this exact one and I use Dawn dish soap and then I add a bit of distilled water and lightly mix it up; works perfectly.
Great tip!
Thanks so much for this video! Whats the oil product you're using? (oil type and dispenser name if you can!)

Can you tell if it's leaking around the pump or is the acrylic cracked?

Good luck. I know I hated it when mine broke. Amazing how attached get to these little gadgets.

@@metalplasticelectronics354 AWESOME! Thank you so much Sir for this! Greatly apprecaited!
Unfortunately the layman isn’t going to do all this for such a crap product. Mine broke also in less than 8 months
They are probably making them cheaper. This one has quite a few years on it.
