Yes, the bass is an older Ken Turner. His voice wasn't as mellow and deep that night as it was when he was younger, nevertheless, he was an outstanding bass, with good range. From an earlier comment by Neil Brank, concerning Bill Shaw, I agree that he was never given the accolades that he deserved. He was perhaps one of the best tenor singers to ever Grace the stage of Southern Gospel singing.
Yes, that is Ken Turner on bass. And Roy Pauley is singing baritone for them, and he's a bass singer. :)
I love this song it really touched my heart. I also love listening to the Blackwood Brothers music. Thanks to my dad and mom I have 5 of their albums.
How sweet of you and your parents, madam!
SING IT BILL SHAW... You Are The Best..!!🙏🙏🙏
What a blessing to hear them praising Jesus.
Bill Shaw was one of the greatest tenors ever
Jackie Marshall was about the best piano player I ever heard.
Props out to Bill Shaw - never gets credit
He and Pat Hoffmaster were the best tenors in this quartet.
Even Ken Turner didn't get the credit who deserves.
Never? You mean except for the legendary version recorded in Long Beach CA where, mid-song, John D. Sumner calls out, "Sing again, Bill!"?
Thanks.
Jackie was the best they ever had. Always enjoyed visiting with Jackie @ Ft. Worth Will Rogers Aud.
Is George Jones in the red suit?
is Ken Turner the bass?
