I think ranking this book and Kingdoms of Death together as the same book it is now officially my favourite in the series. What an emotional and cathartic journey from the beginning to the end of book 4. Ruocchio really pulled no punches and even though it hurt my soul I really appreciate that he isn’t afraid to put his characters in terrible situations with real consequences. Mr. Ruocchio giveth and Mr. Ruocchio taketh away
@@TreeBeardBookReviews The ending of this book really puts into perspective why “becoming Darth Vader” is the right choice for Hadrian lol. Can’t wait to sit down and watch your interview you just uploaded
I finished AoM the beginning of last week. And man ... I was so emotionally invested in this one. I spent some time with Christopher that same week and I gave him a playful (sorta) earful. The test of how impactful this story was happened when I was visiting Christopher at his booth at FanX in Salt Lake City. We were just chatting and I looked over at his pile of books on display and scanning their covers (I won't say which one did it to me; if it was even just one) I became extremely emotional and had to pause our conversation. There are only a few times in my life as a reader that I've had that sort of experience, and this, now, constitutes one of those times. Great book. Great review! I hope people will read this book and new readers will pick up the series. It's masterful.
Just finished the audiobook and man this hurt even if I saw the painful part coming. Loved it and absolutely made me feel things. Absolutely adore this series.

Great to meet you too Tristen. I have a discord link in my vids. Would be great to hear from you and get your thoughts on KoD and AoM!

So far as the rule of cool, I think you'll really like Disquiet Gods. It is VERY much Howling Dark+Demon In White.
Yeah I’m about 50% through Disquiet Gods
