This was so fun! I'm always so blown away by how much you know. You are such a powerhouse & not an ounce of arrogance.
Thank you so very much for being here with us !
I’m a Gen Z viewer! I just turned 18 and I have been watching beauty UA-cam since I was like 10! I love your channel, Jen!! 💚💙
Aww I'm so happy to hear that Gen Z is still here and watching...yay!!🥰🥰
How sweet!!! :)
Awe that’s so sweet I’m a boomer born in the late 50s I’m 64 and I’ve been watching Jen’s channel since 2017. I’ve been subscribed I to have mature, hooded, somewhat downturned eyes so I love all your suggestions on I make up especially. I’ve always taken good care of my skin, which hint, hint, gals is important. But I too love and appreciate all of Jen’s knowledge tips and tricks she shares. I can say. She’s saved me $1,000”s. At this point I own so much makeup I usually buy the dupes. I’m a huge Altar, ego and I was a Ccolor cosmetic fan. Yes I definitely appreciate Jen & still have her listed as Beaudatious. 💕👍🏻👍🏻🥰🙏🏻👍🏻❤️😉
Also a Gen Z viewer!!
Gen Z you are very sweetie 😊.
Sad that comments made you uncomfortable for talking about Beauty Pie... I first heard about them here on your channel and I am so grateful to you for it. I love a lot of their products and continue to purchase from them.
You look fantastic these last few months. Your skin looks so smooth and glowing, and you seem genuinely happy.
Aw thank you! I definitely am happy. :)
Marlena is right! They’re all made in same place in Germany! But only pencils that need to be sharpened!
Well then I've unknowingly been hooked up by Germany for years 😂❤
I prefer wood eyeliners. I like a sharp point.
There are factories in France and Czech Republic
I was just at my dermatologist office yesterday. Jen, you are correct. It’s almost like a less is more approach to hydration of the skin. My doctor said that too much thick moisturizer can actually have a paradoxical affect. Excessive moisturizer can affect sebum production. Also, she likes the Marula oil (ELF makes a great facial oil too). Non comedogenic, a few drops sinks into the skin quickly and can be added to the moisturizer. Trader Joe’s makes a 100% pure organic Marula oil for 6.99 as opposed to Drunk Elephant’s 36.00 version.
Colourpop is one of my favorites. I ordered an $ 140+ worth make up. I tracked it and it said it was delivered. Their customer service is amazing. They are reshipping my order. I'm a Colourpop girl for sure. This was a great vlog. I always love your vlogs. I'm 53 by the way. Keep on keep'n on, girl.....lol
Tip: When looking for lipsticks, aim to buy ones made in the USA or Italy (I prefer Italy).
Just scored the Loreal primer in the pot for $.90 at CVS for pickup. It was half off and then I used my rewards on my card 😊
Great video, Jen! So much helpful info. I’m especially happy to get a couple more Beauty Pie recommendations from you, because I’ve really missed those. I agree that I wish the prices were lower, but I do appreciate that their subscriptions are much simpler now, and the quality and customer service are so nice. I really hope you’ll consider making more (updated) Beauty Pie recommendations again-at least occasionally.
I so enjoy your content. I’m not even a big makeup wearer. I just enjoy your thoughts, opinions on things. It’s a great way to relax & unwind after a long day. Thank you ☺️
Thank you so much for saying that about Jeffrey, I feel like lately people have forgotten a lot about people in the community and I respect you a lot for sticking to your morals. Also, as an olive and warm toned person, I love that you use so many peachy shades, because although we have completely different skin tones our tastes overlap so often and i get to see a lot of great swatches. :) I know you must have a million videos coming, but if I can make a request, I would absolutely die for a highlighter focused video from you! I'm highlighter obsessed, especially during the summer. You helped me find my absolute favorite highlighter of all time, flower beauty's dayglow glaze! Shes a subtle gem. I love your taste so something focused on any kid of glowy products you like, comparisons or swatches or tips or whatever, it would absolutely make my life. But like I said, I get that you must be swamped so it's just a suggestion. Ps your hair in this video is slayinggg
Those brown with red toned blushes that aren’t too warm I’ve found are PERFECT as bronzer for me! With my fair skin, if I get sun I tend to get red so it looks natural on me. Most bronzers look too warm or even orange and don’t look natural. I accidentally got a blush that was more red toned than I thought and tried it anyways and it was the best thing I ever did to help me realize it works best with my fair, cool skin - brown with red tone to mimic how it would look if I actually got sun 😂
Fellow red summer person...orange is awful, but red is amazing!
Which one is your favorite? I’m a fair-skinned redhead.
Thank you for always being so honest and open! Love hearing about your decision on beauty pie. I also want to say it really means a lot to me to see someone with a bit of facial asymmetry just embrace it and do incredible makeup. Everyone I see on YT doing beauty videos have very symmetric faces with features ideal for makeup and it is discouraging to me bc I have strong asymmetry in my eye shapes and makeup enhances rather than hides it. You’re an incredible role model. I constantly think about getting surgery but seeing you do amazing looks and your confidence and self acceptance really inspires me to do the same and not try to change my face with procedures
I'd hazard a guess that those you are watching with symmetrical faces are using some kind of filter. There are very few people with symmetrical faces. Unless they've been surgically enhanced.
Aww thank you so much! Don't change anything because those features are what make you YOU! When I first started on UA-cam it was always so frustrating for me to watch others who have more even faces and non-hooded eyes do makeup and wonder why mine never turned out like theirs. But then I realized that some of the most beautiful people I know in my life have facial asymmetry that really adds to their personality and makes them *who they are*. So I figured I should just work with what I have and who cares if it bothers anyone? I have gotten comments on my uneven brows more times than I can count but they don't bother me anymore. Life's too short to worry about this kind of stuff. 🥰
@@JenPhelpsme too my eyebrows are uneven and when I try to make them even then one is fatter than the other😂 it doesn’t bother me anymore, I think yours are pretty and you do beautiful eye looks.🥰
No real human has a perfectly symmetrical face. If you make two copies of a picture and reverse match each side with itself, it looks really creepy. Asymmetry is beautiful!😊
Terrific video and info, Jen, thank you! Regards Beauty Pie, I was a member for a year and enjoyed nearly all the makeup products I purchased, and felt they were well priced. There were a couple of skin-care products I did not enjoy at all, and I believe they only allow returns of unused products so I was stuck with items I could not use. Finally, they began releasing some absolutely gorgeous-looking skin-care products and yes, they were somewhat less expensive than a comparable luxury formulation, but they were in no way what I considered easily "affordable." If I plan to spend a pretty penny on higher-end skin-care, it should at least be returnable if it doesn't work out. I'm not hating on Beauty Pie, it just wasn't a good fit for me.
I had eye surgery last December. It was 4 months before I felt comfortable with starting up eye makeup again. I liked the idea of easy removal with water without getting product in my eyes so I tried the Milani and it works very well with no flaking during th day. It does give length but not as much volume as regular mascara but much safer for the eyes. Eventually I will go back to regular mascara but the Milani is very good and so easy to remove without rubbing and irritating eyes that are sensitive. I’m glad I found it.
Jen, I totally trust you, but Tarte is number one with me. No smudging and removes easily with beauty pie hot oil balm. Lol. Just goes to show that we are all different, so I appreciate your recommendations and always try them. Never "blame" you for things I don't love. I still rely on your recommendations!
Aw thank you! I actually just got a new tube of the Tarte mascara..I agree it's awesome!
Yes, the undertone needs to be the focus. I'm pink and in light to medium shade which is extremely hard to find. Companies seem to think the only people with pink under tones are fair to light. Anything midrange is yellow/golden oe neutral
Yes!! Usually the very lightest shade has a pink undertone and I'm normally a "light" rather than a "fair", and I rarely am able to get that pink undertone in a light shade.
Oh my gosh, your hair looks so pretty in this video! Also, your skin is glowing!
I started buying from beautypie during 2000 when the pandemic hit. I had decided that myself and my kids were going to really focus on gut health and start taking probiotics. I was also just starting to look after my skin at the same time. Beauty Pie were offering high strength probiotics at about one sixth of the price of anywhere else - even after membership fees. It was a no brainer. Plus I bought some of their uberyouth serums and they made such a difference. They had monthly membership at the time and then they changed to annual membership only and I just couldn't maintain that. I see they're back to monthly membership options now in the UK so I might just renew it again. They're certainly not a dodgy company and I've been very happy with everything I've bought from them.
The Milani mascara - I gave it some time. After 4 weeks, it was wonderful. When I bought a new Milani tubing, I was fully used to how wet it was, and no problem 😊 Great length and thickening. I love how the tartlette tubing mascara thickens my lashes! I do love the new flower beauty (it's not a tubing) it was great building and lengthening ❤
I totally agree!!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! You are a joy to watch! I am 75, just getting back into makeup. I trust you so much!! You are the best!!
What you said about undertones resonated with me so much!! I am fair-light with a distinct green undertone. So it is really hard to find good color matches! I’ve learned to blend things to get a closer match.
Actually that's your fourth tone lol, olive is in addition to being warm or cold or neutral. Its the wildest ride and I can wear about 20% of any range lol. I've learned to mix a tiny bit of green food coloring into any foundation I like, that's made everything much easier.
There are lots of brands I don’t support: J ⭐️, ABH, Kylie, anything MLM, or super high end/ luxury: Tom Ford, Chantecaille, Chanel, Dior, etc
Yes!! I'll add on to my answer...Kylie/Kardashian Brands and MLM's too!
What's wrong with ABH? I've never bought any of her products.
@@jennbeth1 A couple things: support of Putin in the Russia vs Ukraine. Plus multiple things: copying artwork, mistreating employees, mistreating influencers, mistreating a model who’s dark skinned, alliances with J⭐️ and much more.
Jen Gerard of Gerard Cosmetics makes the best eyeshadow primer! Really hides imperfections on my eye lids and my shadows stay in put and color stays true all day! Just my opinion! Have a wonderful evening Jen and everyone!❤
I love Gerard Cosmetics!
@@PamelaH_HappyVibes they have the best setting sprays and their lipstick 1995 is one of my favorites! Have a wonderful weekend Pam❣️🥰
ATHR Beauty is going out of business. I got Manifest Crystal palette $10 and Moonlight Crystal Palette for $8. They were $58 originally. Only one day left for sale . Sad to see them go!😔
@@cathygiuliana9089 I had to check it out, and what a great color! The whole shade range looks amazing.
Oh yeah my favorite creator ❤
Mine too!
Oh my Gosh, thank you to whoever mentioned Beauty Pie! I'm a member and love them. I was eyeing that bronzer and blush too Jen! I have powder bronzer in that same color and it's fantastic. The only item that I purchased that I did not like was a lip crayon. Like you said, excellent skincare.
That beauty pie blush on you looks so beautiful! I hadn't heard of that brand before. Thank you for bringing it to my attention as a pink toned fan!
As a gen X, you are spot on about ebbs and flows in beauty and products. It’s also interesting to see what was old is new again. I bought a lip oil years ago (Mua). It was with a few other lip oils, and then they disappeared. Now, oils are a thing again. Fun to watch trends come and go, and of course, to be an “active” participant. Great video Jen! Btw, your hair looks fantastic
Hi Jen, thanks for the video. I strongly agree that drugstore lines have many excellent mascaras, blushes, lip and eye liners, and brow products.
In general, I always look to drugstore brands first. I have to agree with you on looking to more expensive lines for complexion products and eye shadow. My makeup purchases are constrained by the need to buy products without fragrance, alcohol, or other irritants I'm aware of because I have sensitive skin. I also have very dry, pale skin, and it can be hard to find drugstore foundations and concealers that will work for me.
I prefer to use neutral matte eye shadows, and drugstore lines mostly have pastel or vivid colors with shimmer, glitter, and metallic finishes. The Ulta and Sephora store brands have some matte colors, and I'm experimenting with those. I've also bought a couple of Urban Decay matte singles, and I'm pretty impressed with them.
I also strongly prefer unscented and unflavored lip products, and these are few and far between in drugstore lines, with the exception of the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks. So in the last few years, I've started buying the Urban Decay Vice lipsticks. They're expensive, but they're unscented and unflavored and have lots of pigment. I've had reactions to a couple of scented drugstore lipsticks, specifically a Maybelline matte and a Cover Girl product whose name I don't remember. So I'll be sticking to unscented products.
I forget I have the NYX Plump Right Back, but I recently got the purple wet n wild serum primer (with bakuchiol and dragonfruit?) and really, really loved it.
Ooh that sounds nice! I'll look into that!
This was fun, Jen!
I'm a cool-toned foundation wearer, and I totally agree with your assessment of cool vs. warm undertones in makeup. The blue color adjuster from LA Girl has saved my bacon so many times! I'd rather find a perfect match, but at least I can get my money's worth when I end up with a warm-toned foundation.
Thanks again!
I enjoy Revlon lipsticks 💄
I have been wearing Doll10 for quite some time, I noticed quite a while ago that you were mentioning them. I do not think they get enough love on social media and so I am glad that you are putting them out there. You do quite often mention the brands that are not the usual same old ones that everyone else mentions, you give a good mix of different brands.
GIRL! I agree with the others here, I think this is my favorite makeup look on you ever. Like I totally get why you do heavier makeup looks when you're testing new products and if you did this every day I'm sure we would get bored at some point. But you just look so naturally gorgeous and glowing! And I want those Beauty Pie products now I might finally get a membership.
One thing I really liked about Mary Kay Cosmetics is they focus on undertones with their foundations. Most of the consultants have all of the shades so you can test them. I still order from them now and again. Good products… especially their mascara & skincare.
Oh! And I’ve been doing the layering with essences and it does really help with dry skin. Thanks for that tip!
For tubing mascaras you should try L’Oréal age perfect *waterproof* mascara and the revolution re-love long lash lengthening mascara, I love them both!
Oh shoot! I have both of those and forgot to mention them in the ranking! Oops. :(
Yes curious where Relove fits in the ranking for you!
Hi Jen!, it’s funny how happy I am when my see one of your videos!! You’re the only channel for beauty that I still watch always! Thank you for always providing such good content! I never find myself bored at all, and I appreciate how you recommend such amazing products!
Aw that makes me so happy to hear!! 🥰
Thank you for showing Beauty Pie. Hands down the best skincare and some makeup that are same formulations of luxury products at a fraction of the cost. I’m 57 and my skin has never looked better 😊 constant comments on the skin glow
Hi Jen!!!
I have to open with the fact that you are soooo naturally beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ you need no makeup!!! Beautiful skin and gorgeous hair!!!! Giving me 70’s vibes🌷🌷🌷 (year i was born😉😊)
Love love your videos you are so creative and diverse always recommending amazing products!!! Your vibe is great always smiling & positive🏆🏆🏆
Thanks for a great channel❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aw thank you!! I was born in the 70's too! 🥰
@@JenPhelps ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for mentioning She Glam and Temu and the way they treat their employees. I love the Beauty Pie products I've purchased.
It makes me angry that people complained about Jen talking about Beauty Pie, and I wonder how many of them shop from Temu and Sheglam/Shein.
Hi Jen! You know you’re my go to girl for all things makeup and skin care. You know your stuff and you’re beautiful. And I think you’re fair in your assessments. Well done and, thanks my dear!
❤️💜💚
I’m always happy to see a new video from you Jen. Your videos are always so positive and feel-good times.
Great look today. Fun video! Thanks Jen!🙂
Great questions and answers! Love your hair Jen, so cute looks like a summery 70s look!!
Advice for foundation matching. Try to get close, buy LA Color pigment in blue to make them less yellow or orange and buy the white to lighten it if it's too dark. Around 8 dollars each and can fix any foundation to match without changing the formula. Best advice I ever recieved... from a light olivey complexion person.
I could listen to u all day! So calming and knowledgeable! Always such a breath of fresh air here. 🫶💜🙌
I love Beauty Pie. I still think they provide excellent value.
Great video Jen!!❤❤❤ I do like this style video... and as always, your honesty!!👍🏻💟💐👑💎🫶😘💄💋
After buying that super thick cream from Cerave, I was wondering why it was supposed to be so hydrating, yet it felt like it was just sitting in top. I found that dampening the skin, then putting a thin layer of a more watery lotion, and then the thick cream worked well. I’m guessing the thicker creams have more Vaseline in them and that’s why they behave more like a surface layer.
Yes! Those are usually called Occlusive layers and they're meant to lock all of the other skincare in so it doesn't evaporate but they don't really moisture that well. 🥰
What a great video! Thank you so much for answering my question about the tubing mascaros. You did a really thorough job describing them all and ranking them. Hopefully one of these will become a holy Grail for me
I got so tired of trying to find my match…. I bought a darker shade of the Wet n Wild dewy… a bottle of La Girl blue tint…. I can now buy a lighter shade of any foundation and always make it perfect!!! (The wet n wild is tinted hydrator also blends into any foundation easily ) … this only works for neutral/pink undertones
Hey Jen! Great looks and advice! That Beauty Pie cream blush looks like NARS' Orgasm to me. Love the look with the bronzer too! Thanks for this video - I think you do the best job of staying in touch with your viewer base, especially since it takes so much time and energy in addition to just making the video!
Aw thanks Cathy! Talking to you guys and hearing your thoughts about makeup is one of the best parts of UA-cam for me. 🥰🥰
I love Beauty Pie products. Their skin care is amazing!
Amazing video, packed with such great information!!
💐I really love the feedback to our questions in this video.. You are a great educator and I love your opinion and experience with makeup. I felt you answered all our questions so profoundly and you speak to the masses. I will be going to the store to buy my ELF products tomorrow. Thanks again ! You are a class act ! Thanks for sharing your life and advice with us all ! 💐
Love Beauty Pie! Great quality products!
I’m obsessed with BP. Great products and I think the prices are affordable. Plus they have free full size products with a purchase every month.
Jen, your make up looks so fresh and gives beach babe vibes 😊. That blush is stunning on you as well!!
I really like Beauty Pie. It’s a shame that so many people can’t understand how it works so decide it’s a scam. If you actually buy throughout the year and not just order once, it’s totally worth the money!
I agree!
Your videos are so informative and interesting. I appreciate your thoughtful feedback on products. I've really come to trust you on your reviews! Thanks again! 💛
Great information; loved it!
Your hair is so gorgeous!
Hi Jen. this was a fun video and also very informative. You're one of the very few content creators here that I trust and love. anything I bought with your suggestions, I loved. Thank you for being here❤🎉
I absolutely love Beauty Pie, so I love to hear you speak about them. Their apricot cleansing balm is one that I keep my membership for. I also love their fragrances!
Jen,
This was a great video with products I'm interested in. I've been trying to use what i have lately, but those blushes and body bronzers look fantastic. I think I may need a treat.😊
Amazing video, so informative. Thanks!! 😊
Btw the “soft mink” blush by cover girl also exceeded my expectations, it’s a beautiful color and finish 😍💖
Oh my goodness your nail color is on fire 🔥! Love your videos always have so much info.
Jen thank you for all you do. I love Beauty Pie both for the makeup and skincare. The products are so good- the quality is amazing and the prices very very reasonable. I have never had an issue with them or the products. I pay the yearly membership and definitely feel like it’s worth it. Btw- the Hemish skin tint is half off right now in Amazon. Ordered mine through your link and can’t wait to try it.
I agree with you that most foundations are warm/ yellow undertones. As a cool olive undertone person it is so difficult to find a good shade match. Thank you for suggesting a change for us who don’t get a lot of options
Wow that eyeshadow is gorgeous!
Jen, I am thrilled to hear that you still purchase from Beauty Pie. I joined because of you. I don't purchase their makeup, but I have found some holy grail skin care products that provide that spa treatment feel that I agree have increased in price, but I can't find anything that meets the quality of the BP products at a lower price.
You’re videos are the BEST!!!❤
This has to be one of my favorite makeup looks you’ve done
Aw thank you!! And it's so simple...it's been my everyday makeup for the last few weeks. :)
Your comments about summer makeup routine changes are spot-on! I'm a New Englander (CT too) and we have weather extremes so versatility is key! Hopefully our summer is on the cooler side rather than like the hot & humid weather we had earlier this spring!!
P.S. your look today is gorgeous!
Aw thanks Deborah! I hope so too! 🙏🏻
Glad you’re still loving beauty pie. I really enjoy their products. Great quality. The lip oils are amazing and my favorite.
I rarely finish up lipsticks and glosses before they go bad and I hate all the waste. But those Beauty Pie lip oils are amazing and I can't believe how much I use them up. Definite repurchases. The plum and nude colors are fabulous.
Oh wow, sorry to hear about the Beauty Pie stuff. I actually really appreciated what the brand had to offer, I just didn’t want to do a subscription…and I just don’t have time to wear so many different types of products , as I’m not an influencer, but as other stuff I have runs out, maybe I will reconsider❤
Tubing mascara was what I was most curious about. Thanks for sharing!!
looking radiant Jen ❤!
I love Beauty Pie and the quality of the products
Oh my gosh WOW on the powder body bronzer!! I’ve never seen that before and am blown away how GOOD it looks on you! I’ve been so over the self tan “corn chip” smell so I’ve recently been using Tanologist bronzer which due to it being sooooo pigmented I mix it in with my moisturizer.. now I’m going to have to try that body powder!! Thanks Jen!
Tubing mascara had a learning curve in application for me. Thanks so much for the Milani tip.
Hi Jen, this was truly a fantastic video. I really enjoy your content.
I always loved your Beauty Pie reviews! I have a yearly membership and I LOVE everything I have gotten. The skincare is top notch. Some of my favorite makeup products are the lip oils (AMAZING) and I just got an eye shadow quad that is the best formula ever!
OMG those quads are awesome!!
I LOVE beauty pie! Especially skin care and brushes
Yayyy, I JUST bought the HB Naughty palette during her recent Friends and Family sale with 30% off. I can't wait to get it now! I do enjoy this type of content...you look so pretty with your choices of makeup, very summertime fresh! Thanks for sharing you everything. 😁😘💕💝🎀
Beautiful look! Love this style of video.
Your skin and makep has been glowing lately.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you. xxx
I like the Beauty Pie products, especially the tanning oil for Face and body, and the body butter (feels luxurious). The reoccurring products is where I save money, but I really like their Putty blushes. Great products.
This was such a great video Jen! I know it’s tough to find a perfect shade match for foundation and concealer. My method is easy for me: I have three influencers who have my exact skin tone and undertone (Jen is one 😉.) I then check out what shade each person is wearing. I know it can be time consuming, but it really minimizes making a wrong choice. ❤
Hey Jen thanks as always for an amazing video looking forward to your next video ❤
Thanks Jen! That skincare video was gold! I’ve been incorporating thin layer approach along with a hydrating toner and it’s made a big difference.
Yay!! I'm so glad it works for you too!
Thank you Jen!
I love your hair like this Jen, super cute❤
Thank you so much! 🥰
Ahhh so glad you addressed Beauty pie. I found your content around 2020 looking for beauty pie reviews because I bought a subscription on impulse and then panicked. I’ve since been subscribed to the both of you!!
BP however, I’ve been on the fence about a few times. Yet keep going back for things like the collagen lip oils and some really good deals on their holiday edits, the skincare staples and the packaging. Curious about your thoughts on the rose gold palette if you got it, it was my first powder eye shadow of theirs and I was underwhelmed. The gleam blush however is amazingggg!
Love your work Jen 🙌🏽
Their older palettes aren't the best but the new quads they have are incredible!!
I loved this so much!!! I loved your answers! You’re one of my favorite content creators!
I have a love/hate relationship w/ that Milani mascara. I’m trying to love it but it clumps so much on me. I’ll keep giving it a try. Some of my favorite palettes recently have been from Moira! Your reviews got me to try them and I’m in love with their formula!
Looking so beautiful and summery today! Great video as always. I completely agree with Stone Cold Fox just being one of the best eyeshadow palettes. It’s just fantastic. I would personally also add the Colourpop Wild Nothing palette. Every time I use it I love it even more.
I love Wild Nothing too! 🥰
I have mature skin and sparse brows- Brows - elf soap brow; Primer - Elf luminous putty primer or Halo glow or their sunscreen/glow; I love colourpop jelly shadows; I have learned to use facial oils first if you are looking dryer like in winter
Great video! Very informative 🙏
