I love the style and ingenuity of this set but it seems to fail when it comes to functionality, which is, of course, the most important factor for tools.
A very fair and honest review Dev 👍🏻

I'm glad you reviewed them. I'm too scared to review them, all of the Killermaru fan boys will come after me. This is the last set of 40+ sets I own that I would use to pick any lock in my 350 locks lol. Thats saying something.

@@killermaru You are a legend in this hobby. You make some very beautiful lockpicks. but these sparrows tools with your name on them are absolute garbage. I'm sorry, but it's true. I hope I can own some of your actual tools that you make by hand someday, but the sparrows version is trash.

      So sad ear this... 🥲

Hey sandman; nice to see you here. You know, even though I do enjoy the killermaru set, I must be honest and say that the only thing I enjoy so far is the way they look. No matter how hard I've tried, I just find the killermaru set impractical to use (although i had some mild success with the five-peak(?) rake and a different tension wrench). What I found particularly disappointing was the tension wrenches are exactly the same thickness and dimension (even though they have differences in design) which would render this set immediately useless when faced with a wider keyhole and from my experience it's not that much of a difference either. It would be a shame for an enthusiastic beginner to jump on a set like these only to have a difficult time lockpicking and coming to the conclusion that it must be the level of their skill rather than the tools being used. Therefore, in my opinion I find that this set is more decorative than practical. Fortunately for me, this set was given to me as a gift and had the opportunity to try them on a variety of locks I had lying around; I might frame it and hang it on the wall because I do enjoy this design and it may make an interesting conversation starter some day about lockpicking and the people who helped the community thrive into what it is today.

@@EZLProductions I wholeheartedly agree and I unfortunately will be reviewing this set very soon. It is a disservice to the buyer as you mentioned.

I have them. I have not gotten a lock open yet. I like the handle. Wish the pick was a little thinner, they are rather large.

Ok, I'll give it a try. I like the turning tool. Took me some time but I figured out how to use them left handed.

Great review, I’m curious about the tension tools so I’m happy those are for sale separately. A quick question, where did you get the that you used when testing the tension tools? It looks amazing!

If you're asking about the pick I used, it's a custom interchangeable handle I made. My latest video 296 shows how to make them if interested!

Judging by the way the turning tools fit so loosely in the 575 keyway, I'm going to guess the thickness is only about .030" /.8mm (or less) on them?
I haven't got a lot of enthusiasm for anything under .040"/1mm though it may just be that I haven't tackled any locks yet where thinner was necessary, maybe a Euro profile or something? I prefer a tight fit for my TT, for better control. Seems like less chance to bind the core up too but I could be wrong there. I would just think the thinner the turning tool, the more chance it's edge could bite into the brass and/or wedge between plug and housing.
    Also, what Dmac said.

      I think it's 0.040". Doesn't feel thin but I haven't measured either. Usually 0.040" fits better though

They look really cool, feel decent in hand. However it does feel like they take away feed back.. i personally can barely get anything open with these ( of course could be a skill issue on my end lol) great review!

These picks look very nice but the functionality seems to be lacking strongly. The only real use I've found for the tensioners is with EPG.

That set Is designed for "Hard Challenge", unfortunately doesen't work so good on Usa locks... Do his best on EU locks and Better on 6 pins locks, Is a "new" approch use these, so require pratice 😉

Take off 1/2 the mass and 1/4 inch length. Would give better feedback and positioning. Needs to be more delicate. Cool design, though. A+ for ingenuity.

I guess the USA sucks in another way again lol
