I've just purchased a round brilliant D colour VVS1 GIA triple excellent with no florescence. If graded by AGS it would be 000 super ideal cut and it has a HCA score of 1.2! The company I bought it from 77 diamonds call it a Cupid's Ideal cut.

Hello, it was a very informative video, my diamond ring has a GIA certificate with 3 excellent , i put the information in HCA and the score disappoint me it was 5.2 , but I like my ring it wasn’t so cheap as they assume , and it sparkles very in opposing of what they tell

Can I say that an excellent HCA score with defined H&A shape would guarantee excellent brilliance and sparkle?

Both diamonds have ideal proportions. Can you please explain why the contrast in diamond B is off? Is it symmetry? I would purchase diamond B if buying online due to its proportions. Why are some arrows on B not presenting as they’re supposed to?

Oh, after subscribing to your channel and watching lots of videos i ordered a round diamond 0.6ct., H, VS2, H&A, and HCA of 1.0 with all fire, light return, scintillation and spread as excellent.
Awaiting delivery, what do you think of it please?
I shall share GIA once i get it.

      Hi Vaibhav,
Thank you for subscribing to our channel! Yes, a good HCA score is the first step to a brilliant stone.
It would be best to analyze its light performance under the ASET scope and optical symmetry under the Hearts & Arrows scope. This will provide us a better understanding on its brilliance.
      Cheers,
      JannPaul

Very helpful! I have a quick question. I have a diamond with HCA score of 1.8, with all criteria being Very Good. However, the ASET image shows very good light performance (mostly red throughout, 8 blue arrows for contrast, very little black and no big chunk of black), and the H&A images show it to be very symmetrical, with all arrows and hearts look to be of the same size. How should I evaluate its performance?

What is the best HCA Score for a Diamond to be used in a Ring?

Hello Sir, the Holloway Cut Advisor is thought as an additional tool for choosing a diamond. I would recommend you to buy diamonds which have been graded by the AGS (American gem society), because they are showing the helpfull Aset images as well. Without having a look at the aset image the HCA tool would be worthless. You can only make a good choice when you have the HCA tool combined with the Aset image and normally it would also be nice if you knew a little bit about the ideal proportions in a diamond, like a crown angle of 34.5, a Pavillon angle of 40.8 a girdle thickness of thin to max. slightly thick, a table from 54 to 57 and a depth lets say from 60 to 61.8 percent, lower girdle facets from 75 to 77, 78 would also work. The crown height must be 14 to 16 percent. These I would say are the classical parameters you can find in many diamond tutorials in the net. Also the AGS certificate is more exactly with their diamond measurements. I hope this could help a little bit. Don't go lower in clarity than si1 and if you want a visual colourless diamond choose a G color, the other ones D, E, F, are simply to expensive, I only would buy those if they would be lab grown and cut very well I guess.

so does an hca score determine the price of a diamond

    • @kutie216
      @kutie216 3 роки тому +1

Not necessarily. You can access the HCA on pricescope’s website and enter the diamond’s proportions. For example, my diamond is a GIA triple excellent and scores a 1.9 on the HCA.
You can find diamonds graded by GIA and AGS that fall below 2 on the HCA.
The diamonds graded by AGS may be more expensive because certain vendors specialize in selling “ideal, AGS 000” or “superideal” diamonds, and the AGS 000 or branded cut grades command a higher price.
