    Are you supposed to bring your own ASET Scope to the Jeweler or do you request to see the diamond under their ASET Scope?

    • @MW-df8kz
      @MW-df8kz 3 роки тому +2

      If possible ask for the jeweler to e-mail you the ASET scope image of the diamond(s) under a white back lit background, so you can get an idea of the light performance of the stone(s) at home. You can filter out the diamonds that don't have good light performance. After you narrowed down your selection you can view the ones you like at the shop and request to use an ASET scope. From my experience not many jewelry shops have ASET or Ideal scopes for you to use. I brought my own.

    Hey, i really love these video they have been really educationaly. However it seems almost all the ring sellers in the uk i am contact with dont have ASET scopes, heart and arrow scope or really any scopes of any kind. Everything is based on the GIA certificate or thats it. any suggestions ??

    I recently found a diamond that totally my style. Diamond spec of 0.51 K VVS2 3EX GIA and very nice on the yellow gold setting! H&A is okay under ideal scope. But the shop does not have aset scope, they claimed only lab has it. But after calculating the HCA, the score is 5.2. Should I be concerned?

    • @leifruckwardt9990
      @leifruckwardt9990 4 роки тому +5

      Don't buy it. If your eyes are not well trained for identifying a good cut stone from a bad one, don't touch the ones with a GIA certificate. Choose instead a stone with a light performance certificate of AGS (American gem society). If they are showing Ideal cut 0, light performance ideal 0, polish and symmetry= ideal 0, you can choose it. Those certificates are showing a picture of your diamonds Aset image. Don't take the stones with a too fat girdle, thin to medium would be nice, and not deeper than 61.8% You need to see it under the Aset scope, because even the green colours (Aset) would look red under the idealscope.

      @@leifruckwardt9990 Thank you for the great advice! In that case, maybe I'll consider buying a hearts on fire stone with the AGS cert. I'll take note on the specs you mentioned too. Thanks again! It really helps. 😁

      Little late here but someone might find this answer useful.
      Don't buy HCA over 2.0 and aim for 1.4 or below. HCA tells you what Not to buy it doesn't tell you what to buy. Clearly the proportions were off in that diamond. A diamond can have good hearts and arrow patterns (optical symmetry) and poor light performance of it is too deep or shallow or whatever. There is a good chance that diamond you were looking at showed a lot of green and white on asset scope.

    • @Princess92Isabella
      @Princess92Isabella 3 роки тому

      @@kingal89 I bought mine, A Cut Above diamond with AGS cert few months ago via Whiteflash. I just pay for it after consulting with their diamond expert before even checking through the HCA calculator. But after reading your comment, I rushed to calculate and lucky me that I got the stone scored at 1. 😆💎🥳 The cert also shown many red and blue in the computer generated light performance map. I'm thankful to Whiteflash! HCA is a great tool indeed. 👍🏻
