- Maj. Kristin "Beo" Wolfe flew a tight F-35 demonstration flight over the Nampa, Idaho, airport on Friday 27 August 2021 in preparation for two more demonstrations scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 28-29 August, during the annual Warbird Roundup hosted by Warhawk Air Museum of Nampa. Both Warhawk Air Museum P-40s joined the F-35 in a heritage formation. The crowd celebrated the arrival of World War II fighter ace Bud Anderson in a specially-marked Beech Super King Air that looked a lot like the P-51 Mustang he flew in the war. Bud's flight was accompanied by Mustangs restored in his markings.
The presence of the F-35 overhead, flying out of Hill AFB, Utah, ups the ante for the long-running Warbird Roundup. Thousands of visitors are expected for the weekend event, that includes a variety of warbirds like three P-40s, several P-51s, a Corsair, an F8F Bearcat and several Texan variants.

That F35 was literally flying over my head Friday and Saturday. I couldn't believe I was actually seeing one. It was so low I could see white streaks coming off the wing tips
Okay the fact that I get this on my phone as I'm literally fooling with my model of a TBD Devastator
Great to see bud is still with us!
Old Crow 🇺🇸
Yes!
What's the stall speed on an F-35?
Slow
@@mrveenode I mean in the normal flight configuration, as shown here pacing the 'birds
Hey I was there
Yesterday I was at my neighbors house and we heard a jet flyin low and it was that F35 solo. Then not long after we seen the 3 together! The were flyin right around our house back to the airport and it was super cool!
Yes, quite a sight... and sound.
Some inpressive flying by the P-40s keeping up with the F-35.
It may very well be the other way around. The F-35 going slow while the P-40s cruising. 😀
I really wanted to go to the Warhawk Roundup this weekend but things just didn't work out for me. So thank you for posting this video.
I kept hearing the F-35 flying near my house and that thing is loud. But you still can't replace the sound of the P-40s and the P-51s. I guess you could compare it to the difference between a Diesel-Electric train vs. a Steam Engine. There is just no comparison.
And thank you for watching. Yes, the sound of the F-35 over Nampa was unusual. Here's some more from this year's Warbird Roundup: ua-cam.com/video/D9WZdB1TyE8/v-deo.html
i was just here a year later
I like the old warbirds. The F-35, not so much. Thanks for the video.
Will give you some of both this weekend...
I was at the Nampa airport today… Saturday… for the show; the heritage flight was awesome! Seeing all the warbirds up close and in action was a great experience!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lookin forward to your finished video on this weekend
