When looking at old film, almost always three point landing are performed, yet restored warbirds usually touch down on mains. Air force pilots of all countries were taught three point landing technique for good reason, and bouncy wheeled in landings would have provided no small amount of humour in the officers mess. Any learned opinions as to why?
