Sean Lock was a comedy genius. I constantly watch his clips/shows .. I can't get enough of them and they never get old. RIP.
Sean is feeling very well. He's a tease.
I could watch his clips on UA-cam for hours on end. He was a legend comedian. Miss him so much :(
Sean also doesn't get old
Carrot in a box will always be one of the greatest things shown on British tv
Me too🥺
Good job putting Sean Lock in the thumbnail, I'd watch anything related to this precious human being. Still can't believe he's not here with us no more😔
I know he was the reason 8 out of 10 cats was funny now its pure garbage without him
100% absolute icon
Comic f***ing genius ❤
I’d have included the beautiful Richard Beckinsale, star of Porridge & Rising Damp. Also, father of Kate Beckinsale. He died tragically young at the age of 31 in 1979.
Yes i'd forgot that one too
@@nickb5391 he was the first one I thought of.
When I was a child, he was one of my favourite actors.
He was so well cast as Lenny in Porridge. And I'm sure the spin-off Going Straight would have continued had he not died. Very sad.
I never knew Kate was his daughter
I still can't believe that both Rik Mayall and Sean Lock are both gone I really miss them both I wish they were still here making us laugh because those two had the gift of making people laugh
It’s so sad to hear these celebs passing away too soon. My they rest in peace 💐
Of these, Rik Mayall made the greatest contribution.
Who remembers Victoria Wood from the Dinner Ladies and her stand up comedy?
I still remember her mostly from Dinner Ladies and I believe she died too soon but I don’t know what the cause of death is…
I love Dinnerladies, I quote it all the time! I think she died of breast cancer.
She was amazing. Sadly it was the big C that took Victoria.
I'm a bit peaved with WatchMojo for not including Vic in this run down.
I think she died of a short cancer battle
I remember 2016 as being the year of the great celebrity cull. We lost so many that year.
I think Richard Beckinsale should be included. Great actor too soon parted.
Loved "The Young Ones"( which was shown on MTV here in The States) Rik Mayall was hilarious. Hope he's making them laugh like a drain on the other side👍.
RIP. Wonderful to be reminded of these talented people. 😪
Paul Ritter deserved to be on this list as well. He as Martin Goodman in Friday Night Dinner was such a brilliant comedy actor, and he proved his diversity in Chernobyl too. He died too soon and nobody knew he was ill, it was only during the broadcasting of the 10th anniversary of Friday Night Dinner where he did an interview despite his tumour that the fans saw the extent of his illness.
Sean Lock was amazing too. I refuse to watch Cats Does Countdown now because it’s not the same without him and knowing he was dying whilst some of them were filmed is too much for me. RIP Sean and Paul
paul ritter was great in the drama about dads army
Elisabeth Sladen, rest in peace. ❤️❤️
Thank you. I'm glad somebody didn't forget her.
@@pauldonald4676I'm a doctor who fan we'll never forget Elisabeth as Sarah Jane Smith
I felt the same amount of sadness when Sean Lock died as I did when Robin Williams died. They were both one of a kind. I have my eyes squarely on Milton Jones' health now.
Love watching these videos because they make me feel better when I’m feeling down! They will always be remembered for their work
how did you noy include richard beckinsale. One of UKs biggest actors at the time in comedy.
Just commented that, he died before I was even born but loved watching reruns of Rising Damp.
My Dearest Cherry Valentine, I'm so sorry this world wasn't right for you. You touched the hearts of so many with your kindness and compassion and sharing your difficult story with us all. Thank you for inspiring so many of us, the world of drag is such a better place because of your impact. You were and inspiration, a hero and a friend. I love you and miss you dearly. Rest in peace my love, thank you for everything ❤
It's a pity that we never saw Rik Mayall play Peeves the poltergeist in Harry Potter
Criminal to cut that role. He would have stolen the show...which is probably why it was cut.
I remember two cbbc stars dying which both shocked me. Mya Lecia Naylor (almost never/millie inbetween) age 16, and Archie Lyndhurst (so awkward) age 19. Both times I'd only been watching the series they were in the day before. RIP
Wasn’t Mya’s death deemed a ‘misadventure’, or am I thinking of someone else?
R.I.P. Gary Olsen, too.
Rik. A one off, RIP, genius.
Eva Mottley (24 October 1953 - 14 February 1985) who played Corinne Tulser the wife of Denzil Tulser (played by Paul Barber.) in Only Fools and Horses should be on this list too. She was supposed to appear in more episodes of Only Fools and Horse but her character was written out due to her suicide from a drug overdose.
And the character was never recast out of respect but also because John Sullivan always wanted the character Corinne as remembered as Eva. Same with Grandad never being recast, instead John bravely wrote in the script of Grandad’s death and brought in Uncle Albert. Such a brilliant wonderful respectful writer John Sullivan
@GroinStrain_ and they paid tribute to her on a later episode in a conversation between Trigger and Denzil in the episode where they travel to France to by cheap grog.
So sad 😢 Rest In Peace and strength and love to their loved ones ❤🕯
I miss Rik so much. I ever have a framed photo of him in my living room. 💔
Rik Mayall's death sucked man 😫
I must admit I hadn't heard of some of these people, apart from Rik May all, Sean Lock and the actress who played Alice Tinker. I agree with one of the comments below, that Richard Beckinsale should perhaps have been included, as he was a popular comic actor who passed away at only 30 or 31. Strangely he had a premonition that he would die young, even though the heart problem that took his life was unknown to him. May all the people in this video rest in peace, and all those who passed away not yet mentioned. 🙏🙏🕯️🕯️
My sadness every time I watch Rik Mayall thinking that he isn’t here anymore to make us all laugh. He was a total one off.
I was heartbroken when Rik Mayall died.
Helen McCrory was a superb actress.
I recall her in quite a few movies before her death in 2021.
The Queen where she played Cherie Blair,
Skyfall, The Woman in Black 2 to name just a few.
Indeed she died much too young and I think that there should be more done to highlight Breast Cancer.
RIP Helen McCrory.
Rik Mayall one of the funniest people of all time RIP
Roger Delgado. The original Master from Doctor Who and for many the best. He played the character no like as a cool, cigar smoking, dapper dressed gent. Against Jon Pertwee he was amazing. Sadly killed in a car crash in Turkey, 1973 aged just 53.
Good list,... A lot of these did affect me for a long time,.. Peaches, tragic, Caroline Ahern... Absolute comedy genius... mark Spate, ... I remember him being missing for a several days and knowing what was to come
Erm... Victoria Wood and Elizabeth Sladen?
Now do ‘British TV Stars Who Didn’t Die Fast Enough.’
you total disgusting low I Q moron
Jill Dando.
Yes, omitting her is bizarre.
I had no idea sean lock had died 😔 he was brilliant in 8 out of 10 cats does countdown.
His death received a lot of media coverage in the UK.
@@andrewjones575 figures. I'm from Australia
Natasha Richardson should be added. That was a really tragic story.
Yes it was 😓. However,she wasn't a TV star so I guess that's why she wasn't included ..
@@ROBYNMARKOW Aaah, that makes sense. Didn't clock that.
May they all R.I.P 😢 Xx
I would like to propose Linda Smith for the list, anyone who saw, heard, met or worked with her had nothing but praise for her wit and humility. Arthur Smith gave her a fitting tribute ending in a particularly foul mouthed joke that she loved to tell.
I didn't know peaches died
How about Eric Morecambe? He was only 58. He was a giant among these pygmies.
For me it's also Eric Morecambe, I really wish he'd had a few more years.
Peaches Geldof a ‘TV Star’? Really?
You missed out Victoria Wood who should definitely be on the list
Miss you Sean up the Blues 🔵
I think at 4:05 you accidentally said "Fortunately" instead of "Unfortunately"
It was the SMART guy for me. I was shocked and devastated.
What about Elisabeth Sladen?
THANK YOU! WatchMojo ALWAYS forgets our Sarah Jane Smith!
But most of these people died until their mid-50s.
Could easily have doubled this list - Charlotte Coleman, Victoria Wood, Richard Beckinsale to name a few
RIP to all in this video 😪😪
So sad that Rik Mayall passed away, He was such a funny great man
he was a delight to laugh at
Mark Speight's death was a tragic loss but I think the CPS and Police ought to take a look at themselves after the decision to label him as contributing to his partner's death.
RIP Mark Speight.
I would also add Paul Ritter and maybe Imogen Hassall(though she was more of a film actress).
I was very upset at the loss of Elizabeth Sladen too
Rip x
Cherry valentine came from my home town Darlington wasn't accepted in the gypsy community.
Really sad end to a lovely man
Clicked on this video after watching, “10 British Stars who hung on too long. “
What about Father Ted?..... Feckin Greeks!
Wasn't he Irish?
I couldn't stop crying when i heard Sean Locke die, he forever ve the best comedian for me and Undisputed carrot in the box holder R.I.P Sean Locke thank you for the memories.
You missed Dustin Gee & James Beck
Sean Lock still hurts to this day. I will never be able to play Carrot in a Box again
"Alternate comedy"?
Rip to them all 🙏
Non-achiever Peaches Geldof included but no sign of a true star like Tony Hancock, who was only 48 when he died. Even Jade Goody did more than Geldof! Why do I get the feeling this sums up WatchMojo?
Yes, PG was never a star, so to include her is bizarre.
Rip to them all
😢
What's happened to the sound🤔🙃‼️
Yes in deed all gone too soon RIP 🕯️🙏🌹😪cheers stephen ✌️🍀
I haven't paid attention to language development, but when did 'die' turn into the euphemism 'pass'?
I'd say it has been a common euphemism for over a century.
No don’t agree, quite a few on that list I’d barely heard of, several not so young and a HUGE one missing that was truly young & tragic. Richard Beckinsale !
Most of these died at the hands of German Count Graf Een: master of the 'Little Pricks'.
I didn't know Sean lock died.
What about Victoria Wood!?
Sean Lock(à very funny guy).
Sean is dead????
No idea who most of these people were
4:53 ive discovered that George ward has died by suicide by hanging age 28 in 2022
Rik Mayall, only celebrity I've been actually truly gutted has passed away, absolute genius
Where’s the Queen? 😢
I hope you’re being sarcastic, 96 is not too soon.
@@katashworth41 I wasn’t being sarcastic - genuinely Her Majesty should’ve been Queen for another decade or so - she shouldn’t have left us so suddenly 😞
@@ezekielbertrand809 She and the whole family leech of the taxpayer, and don’t give me the “they make more than they take” speech. The country was happy to clap for the NHS but vilify the staff for wanting to be paid enough to live? The monarchy is a relic of the past.
Could not stand Caroline flack. Sad what happened to her but she abused her boyfriend. So when people say she was so nice. She wasn't really. What was she famous for again?
She was nice and she did host the xtra factor with olly murs. Caroline was not a nasty person , so please be kind
@@gavinmartin5151 She beat her boyfriend whilst he was asleep!!!
@@sazzieb1 so what. she was upset she did not mean to hit him
Who the heck is cherry? Not a celebrity
Caroline Flack...hmmm. not sure i would have her on this list.
I don’t think anyone dies ‘too soon’. You die when it is your time to go, however it happens, whatever your age and however sad it is.
I hope these mentioned here rest in peace. 🌹
Cheryl valentine hung him self so sad
Sorry but why is Caroline Flack, an extremely violent physical abuser being put side by side with these great people?
Controversial im sure but would be good to see tribute lists that didn't include people who took their own lives
Not being funny but the Caroline Flack saga if it was other way round and her fella beat her and then had all the media and stuff hound him and he kill himself would the story be the same or would the narrative been slightly different 🤔
Ur not funny trust me!!
@@richardhutchinson6425 duh you moron like I said not being funny I wasn't making a joke I was making a point maybe if your stupid brain could comprehend what I wrote instead of how you feel maybe you would understand but again it's like talking to a brick wall 🤣🤣
Putting Flack on here is kinda gross since the pressure she faced was a result of her own abusive actions
Seriously? You're blaming her for the media pressure that resulted in her taking her own life? Absolutely nobody deserves to get the absolute mauling she got from the tabloids and social media, regardless of what they have allegedly done (I don't think anything was ever proven in Caroline's case).
So true no sympathy
Grow up u2!! Stop being pieces of sh$$
No idea who that drag artist is. RIP to all the others though.
I would add one name to that list: Jimmy Saville. not because he was great or anything, I think it would've been great to see him either thrown in jail or just watch him as his life goes from awesome to fucking shit
This is about those who died too soon, Which Savile certainly doesn't qualify for.
@@andrewjones575 no but he did die too soon, he died before all his fuckery came out. that is my point. Man should've been arrested, charged, lost all his honours, and had a hedgehog shoved up his arse. then he can die.
Think he meant he died before he was brought to justice.
