In the US, we call that "jumping the shark," when one particular scene or episode is the turning point in a TV show, and the rest of it is all down hill from there. That phrase comes from when Fonzie, on "Happy Days", jumped over a shark on a pair of water skis wearing his leather jacket. The show just wasn't the same anymore.

Dr Who was NOT cancelled for 15 years. In fact, it was never cancelled at all, this is a fallacy put about by disgruntled fans in the early 90s. It stopped being made completely by the BBC from 89-96 because the Beeb wanted it to be co-funded by an outside production company (This was forced on them by Thatcher's government). This eventually happened with Philip Segal and the Paul McGann movie that was supposed to be the pilot for a new co-production with the US. That it failed (Only in the US, It was a hit in the UK), left it once again in limbo until all the rights reverted back to the BBC in the 2003s. only then could it finally be brought back. between 96 & 03 Segal's production company still held the rights to make a TV series, although this never came to pass. So, there you go, Never Cancelled!

Aaaaaah crossroads. That was actually a piss-take, it was highly camp and tongue-in-cheek for the entire reboot, I frigging loved it. It was splendid.

As for Sherlock, that's just what a long break between series can do to a show, especially when Reichenbach Falls is considered the show's peak, it was always gonna disappoint, they could've sat down for the whole 90 minutes and explained it all in great detail, but as you said, there were so many fan theories, that a definitive answer would've angered a portion of the audience.
I think series 4 has more issues with the treatment of Mary than series 3 did with the treatment of Sherlock's faked death. I also think they shouldn't have teased Moriarty coming back.
But I was one of the very few that loved the finale. It felt like peak Sherlock, and I have no issue with the lost sister, Sian Brooke was brilliant.

I remember the Sherlock clock tease. I enjoyed the slashing scene as a wink to the fandom. But in the end that episode suffers from one of Moffatt's biggest flaws in writing and showrunning. He builds elaborate story arcs, but never brings them to any satisfying ends. pissing off the audience. In Doctor Who, the Eleventh Doctor's run was a scattering of disjointed flavor of the week episodes and the characters sometimes mentioned event that wasn't episodes. It made me feel as Moffatt was cheating us in a way, creating a weird unknown arc behind the scenes the viewer weren't privy to. I couldn't relate to the characters, let alone the Doctor, and abandoned the series shorly after that.

First off, you mislabelled when Doctor Who aired; the classic series ended in 1989, not 1985 (when the show was also put on hiatus during Colin Baker's time). And second, the show wasn't put on hiatus after Sylvestor McCoy's time (when the Kandyman and his only appearance The Happiness Patrol was) for 15 years but 16 (when it came back in 2005). For me and several others, Doctor Who was killed when the Doctor was revealed to be the Timeless Child and then further when Ncuti Gatwa took on the role. I should also like to add Britain's Got Talent as it hasn't been the same since David Walliams left and was replaced by Bruno Tonioli who was a poor choice.

The bill was one of the best shows then when they started mixing soap elements into it thats was when it slowly declined. It did get a bit better when it got rid of it but the other problem was too many characters were coming and going. By the end it got too CSI like which was the final nail. Darker tone was nice as it echoed the early years but with what else they did in the revamp didn't do it justice. London's burning was another one we all grew up with but ITV killed that towards the end by making the series go soap like.

Tim Vine leaving Not Going Out didn't kill it at all, series 6 was great (the first without Tim), as was series 7, which was meant to wrap the show up (with the wedding of Lee & Lucy being the finale), but due to the show's consistent ratings, they kept it going, and now they've reinvigorated it as a family sitcom, which does the job. I also like Toby more than Tim, just for the fact that Tim's shtick got a bit old long before he even left.
I'd say losing Bobby Ball (RIP, legend) was more of an issue for the series, since he and Geoffrey's banter was better than Lee and Tim's friendship (Lee always makes me laugh, but Tim is definitely an acquired taste IMO).
The show has had several cast departures, (Kate, Barbara, Tim and Daisy) and has survived them all. It continues to roll on, despite the fact that you claim it was "killed" after series 5. That's a pretty good run, if you ask me (PS: The House is the best episode, and it was sans Tim).

He wasn't the first H. The singer Stephen Hogarth (of Marillion) was nicknamed 'H' quite a while before Steps were formed.

I also think that Holly Willoughby should be sacked from this morning, she knows more about Philip schofield's relationship and the fact that the 2 of them pushed through the queue at the Queen resting in state it is shameful and disrespectful 😱🤧🤢👎 who do they think they are just because they were presenters then they think they should just jump the queue it,s things like this that annoys people as they are better than anyone else
