Just received my Mevo+ Thursday. We have all the distance setups correct “we think”. We are waiting for the TCG2019 to come in. For now we are playing the E6 demo - it seams that our distances are not accurate. Myself and others that used it today are typically 285yrds-300 plus. But in demo mode. We are only hitting up to 250yrds at the furthest. Is it due to being in demo mode?
As a PGA professional, I really appreciated this video. You went through a lot of the questions that I have about my unit. (I just a Mevo+ to use in the winter for myself and my students.) This was extremely helpful and thank you so much for taking the time to put all this information in one place.
excellent reminder about not elevating the unit off the floor if wanting to simulate putting. I've been having issues (both with spin numbers on full shots and putting) and will give this a try.
Thanks Jay for the great stuff. I’m a potential buyer of Mevo+ and I see many queries raised about putting results shown by Mevo+. I suggest someone to prepare "Stimp Rating," indicating the actual distance the ball has rolled on the surface and the distance shown by the Flightscope on the same surface for the same putt. One may not be in the possession of a proper 36’ long Stimpmeter to do this ratings, it can be done with any grooved bar or channel of even smaller length which keeps the ball on track as it rolls down and exits the ramp. If required, the Stimpmeter can be modified a bit to have a hollow area in the groove of the channel (where ball is not touching the channel) to ensure that the radar waves have no difficulty to track the ball. Hope the results would give some more confidence to the users and add realism in the indoor practice.
I have a stimp meter. My turf rolls 10.5 every time. I've matched this with e6 stimp in many videos and you also can see the ball speed to judge it. Radar will never be as good as camera indoor at least without with perfect smooth role and environment. But you can see how well I have it performing. With the outdoor potential, price, and features Mevo+ stands tall in its price point.
I have purchased the Mevo+ for our high school golf team to work through the winter months. We have both RH & LH golfers. Do you have a recommended putting setup that conveniently accommodates putting from both sides? I would think the recommended setup shown in your video at 6:48 interferes a LH stance for full swings. Thanks!!
Hi, i use E6 connect with my Mevo plus and noticed that E6 is not storing my golf shots. I use E6 connect in the offline mode as I don’t have cellular setup on my iPad Pro,and wondered if that may be why. I have only used E6 on the practise ranges so far and will hopefully try it out on one of the courses soon. Thank you for all your extremely helpful videos!
Great work again Jay. I can see you being asked to do more of these for each of the launch monitors and a Mevo +, FAQ Part 2 plus even a beginners guide FAQ to the software.
Thank you, David! Yeah it is tough to compile it all without missing a handful of things but the questions in the comments are already helping fill in a few blanks. I agree I’ll see what I can do moving forward for all devices as I get asked questions, become aware of solutions and enhancements etc.
Thank you! Might do that just always a concern having something sitting in the way of Mevo+ just like I talked about with interference. Thanks for watching!
Haven’t seen many people mention this but if you have an iPad Pro you can get a usb-c Ethernet adapter and use Ethernet for an internet connection and WiFi to the Mevo+. Works great for Awesome golf since it requires internet access. The one I use has hdmi and Ethernet so I can project, have internet and charge at the same time.
Yes you can. Just use the dongle like you are saying. I have it and it works for that and HDMI etc. Great question as I did not think about that in the list. But PERFECT now you mentioned it in the comments other can see the answer :)
@@GregVanGorp Sure here is the one I picked up local I think you can find it online cheaper just about any usb-c adapter should work fine. www.bestbuy.com/site/j5create-2-port-usb-3-0-hub-with-hdmi-and-gigabit-ethernet-usb-type-c-adapter-silver/5602501.p?skuId=5602501
Looking at the putting diagram at 6:00 in the video, I can duplicate the preferred top or bottom setups. I have smooth concrete slab that many would consider “flat,” but does have a very slight even slope for drainage of about 1/2 inch per 10 feet down away from my planned Mevo+ location. It’s like you took the bottom diagram and tilted it slightly down to the left. How much do you think that slight consistent slope might affect Mevo+ reading putts?
If it slopes down, not up it could potentially be an issue as it could lose sight of some of the ball. Testing is the only way to truly know. As always completely flat is the best. Thanks for watching.
Hey pal, your videos are fantastic, I’m in the process of purchasing. Mevo Plus you have explained and described everything I need to know to confirm that the Mevo is exactly what I’m looking for, well done, keep the videos coming. Mick
Wow Jay - fantastic video. Perfect timing like you mentioned...as I've got another 6 weeks before my Mevo+ gets here. Everything but the projector, mount and cable is here for the SwingBay though....so I'll be putting all of that up this weekend. Great tips for me to keep in mind as I get setup. Love the visuals as well. Thanks again!
Nice! Glad you enjoyed it. Clearly I can't cover everything in a 20min video but a lot of great questions and answers below in the comments too! Thanks for watching!
Great presentation! I just received the Mevo + today and in the process of setting it up. Having a problem connecting E6 to the system. FS golf is no problem but E6 is giving me an issue.
Most of the time I hear this it's because you have to go under the settings of the software and change to short indoor mode and select the device inside of e6. The other thing I run into is people not force closing the app because you can only connect to one software or device at once.
Thanks a lot for your channel and your awesome job you are doing! I was searching almost a year for a channel like yours! Going into details! And not only unboxing and bla bla, like other channels!
First of all, great videos. Have been watching for a few years and always great content. Having recently purchased a Mevo+ as I begin to build my sim, I'm torn between a sim enclosure build from one of the UK suppliers, or trying to get a system in place like you with the curtains. Do you have a detailed breakdown of how you created that anywhere? Also, if you have any specifics on the flooring and hitting surface, that would be great. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the video, I’ve only had my unit for 2 weeks; thus, still on the learning curve. I can not get the video capture to work with the internal camera (but it does work using my iPhone). I told this to the support folks, who said they know about issues and are working through them. Hopefully the next few firmware updates will help.
I have some questions: 1) Given an ideal putting environment/set up, how reliable are the putt reads? Minimimum putting distance it can reliably pick up? 2) You said higher ball speeds need more distance. Was the problem that it wasn't picking up the shot or that it wasn't reading accurately? What would be considered higher ball speed where this can become a noticeable issue? 3) Any external battery packs that will work with Mevo officially for use on the go or if you don't want to have it plugged in in your sim? 4) Does it reliably read flop shots and short chips? 5) Are they still back ordered for months or has that improved? Thanks for the video, good information.
I consider my environment to be close to ideal based on my testing. I am comfortable with putts about 6' or more. Also 10ft but downhill 3ft etc. a 6' putt downhill 3ft could be tough but clearly is a rare putt. Better off to keep hitting it short a few times until it reads. Most play 10ft gimmies and don't have an issues. I am 10ft of flight with 150mpg ball speed. Some people with high ball speeds like 160, 170 etc that I have talked to moved to 12' ball to screen and helped any driver concerns. Yes external batter pack works great. I will put the link below. That is something I just forgot about. Yes chipping works great see my videos. Lead time is up to 14 weeks right now with some availability sooner if a dealer as incoming stock. Shoot me an email at a98cr125@gmail.com
I am just finishing up my garage and the idea was to build a simulator for the Winter here in Canada.. Mevo+ definitely is the way I want to go, Ive been watching every single video since the unit came out. I just don’t know if I can justify waiting 14-17 weeks. A lot can go wrong in that amount of time, especially with the way things are going now in the world.
My garage is only 10'8" wide. I have 17' long so planning on 10 to screen and 7 to ball. I think I can have the hitting zone in the middle for irons (L and R golfers) but I will need to move the zone up to a foot + / - for driver. Would the unit pick this up without having to adjust it? I could build a slide rail that can move it L / M / R. Thoughts?
So I am 7’ ball to wall and driver clears fine for everyone. You should be good as long as that is the case. Many are running 9’ ball to screen just fine it’s just not ideal for higher driver ball speeds but still works.
Great video. I am having to reconstruct my simulator due to Hurricane Laura and Delta. Thanks to this video, I'll be one step ahead and avoid some of the interferences. Received my Mevo+ yesterday and looking forward to the overhaul!
For putting my golf mats are 2 inches thick higher then the floor as I had to put the Mevo+ on a block to be level so there is a drop between the ball and the radar. The key is to ensure the ball to the screen is flat so the ball rolls smoothly!
No, I have a video on this. Even though chipping is "ok" the data is not right. It is reading the ball so impossible to get correct launch, spin, speed etc.
I’m going to set up my simulator in the tandem part of my 3-car garage. I won’t have a screen just a net. Was going to screen cast to a 40” tv on the wall in front of where I would be facing when I hit. Watching this video, should I instead put it on the wall further back behind where the Mevo will be and just tilt it towards me?
This is an awesome video! Thankyou. It would of been good if you went through the horizontal line up procedure and using the 'target alignment' feature in the FS Golf app. I feel this is important to getting accurate data especially club data.
Nice! Yeah I tried to cover as much as I could. Clearly I could have missed something but that is what comments are for! Tried not making it an hour of me talking!! LOL Thanks for watching!
GReat videos Jay! About to buy the Mevo+ but after watching your videos I have a couple of concerns: 1. Can I not have a fridge in the room or just not in the viewing line? 2. I have a wall of mirrors on one wall, Will this effect the reading? 3, does light levels effect the readings? Thanks again, please keeep the videos coming! Awesome! 👏🏻
Radar will have no issues with light or mirros. The fridge needs to be out of the view and possibly turned off depending on its noise. Thanks for watching!
They are similar in nature but both unique in operation. ES Tour needs the calibration right and a ball with a straight bold logo. The results were good for me. SkyTrak is a little more forgiving with any logo ball and has a laser dot where you place it. SkyTrak putting seems a little more off vs ES Tour and Skytrak seemed to not miss sidespin on driver where ES Tour plus I did see some. Positives and negatives to both from what I can tell. Thanks for watching!
Shotgun_Andy I forgot to mention how ES Tour is microphone activated. So it is important not to have loud music or anything going on when you’re playing as it could interfere.
This was a great video, Jay. Very informative. It would be a great series to do something similar for the other popular units like SkyTrak, Garmin R10, etc.
can you detail how you set up your hitting area vs the remaining turf or carpet to obtain a totally level area. would obviously like to save by creating a smaller hitting area with the more expensive turf. thanks for any help.
Great video, thank you. I purchased my Mevo + and I received it about a month ago. I was busy with other projects until now, so I am ready to set it up. I realized after watching this video that my environment probably will not work with Mevo+. Can you review my reasoning and let me know if my environment is salvageable? I have a short indoor setup outdoors-my hitting area is 8feet from a net. Because my back yard is sloped, I built a small deck for a level surface and this deck is 3 feet off the ground. I built another platform 9 feet back for the Mevo that is level with the hitting area. Your video warns about a gap a few inches deep, my gap is 3 feet deep. Is there anything I can do to salvage this situation?
Could you run the MEVO+ with an iPad and then project it onto a larger TV? I have a 8’ Net Return setup that I hit into today and this video was super helpful Jay. Thanks in advance for your help
close to purchasing Mevo+, somewhat intimidated by computer issues. Do not currently have wifi. 72 yrs old , 10 handicap. Love golf. Any advice? Good video dealing with some of my questions.
Thanks for putting this video together. i'm hoping to make some adjustments to my putting approach based on your feedback. I've been having a lot of issues with no-reads, as well as any slight downhill putt goes 30 feet past the hole, regardless of how hard I hit it. I bought some mats to put under my putting turf to make it level, so I'm hoping that works. Additionally, I'm wondering if my refrigerator and TV are an issue. I don't believe that they're in the line of the unit, but they are off to the right, approximately 4 or 5 feet away from the unit. Do you think that's an issue? I'm having some challenges with the yardage. 5i through wedges are consistently about 1-2 clubs short.
Those inconsistencies for sure sound like setup and or interference issues. Is there any way you can move the fridge and TV behind the mevo or out of your space for testing? Also be sure to have the flat smooth surface and level surface for putting as I talked about. Putt 7ft from the unit. Thanks for watching and please report back.
Thanks for this video! Regarding heavy metal objects, you mentioned fridges. Are heavy metal objects ok if they’re not plugged in? Forgive my ignorance; completely clueless on radar tech. I got mine yesterday and have it set up in my metal barn 😳 table saw, furnace, mutter saw, drill press, mini fridge… etc, etc… hmm
A fridge could be ok unplugged just depends but heavy metal objects will cause issues such as steel beam, etc. Loud fans and even a TV on a wall if close to the hitting area I have seen cause an issue. Cleaner the better. Thanks for watching
What a great video! Curious-if I connect the radar to my laptop via wifi, and I don’t have the option to use an Ethernet cord for internet to my laptop, will I not be able to use the app to play courses? Or once I download the app to my MacBook, will I not need internet at that point?
Yes you can still do it this way. But you need a smooth a level surface so many have a putting Mat on the side. I am fine with the results the way I am doing it. I do get an occasional bounce that can affect the read.
Mevo+ is on its way. I think to Start i'd prefer to go the ipad route ad take advantage of the free software. Do you have a strong opinion of iPad air vs iPad Pro and the storage size?
What a great video! Mevo plus just arrived. Tried the e6 demo and it will not pick up a putt! Any ideas? I had 7 feet to the unit, 10 ft to the screen. I was putting from the same spot I was hitting from
Thanks. All of the key items are in this video or others. Putt with no dot. 12 degree angle. Smooth, level surface. No interference etc. Should be good.
No that should be fine. It’s really something in direct view of the unit like steel beams behind the screen or right next to it. I have found loud noises and humming seem to be the biggest culprits. Lots of people are using them in aluminum barns, and things like that with no issue.
Jay, using my Mevo+ for ball striking only into my outdoor net, is it OK to have a gap between the devise and the ball? I have the short indoor setting and I use the dot. The Mevo is a an inch or so below the hitting surface and 8 feet back with 11 feet of ball flight. I mainly use the FS Skills so what angle should I have the Mevo+ set 12 or 18? Lastly what tolerance is the roll allowed be set at. I won your tumbler and it’s fantastic. Thank you. I’m considering going all crazy and purchasing the new Trackman. When I’m ready - soon, I’ll be knocking on your door. Your videos are the best in the business.
Thanks for posting this very useful information. I have a question with regards to positioning of an iPad on a stand as part of an outdoor / net setup. Where would be the best place to run it to not cause any interference. Should I avoid a metal stand for the iPad?
Really appreciate the video. I’m looking to purchase a Mevo+ in the very near future. My only real concern is will I not be able to listen to music via speaker while playing?
Yes you can. This is radar no microphone. As long as not loud bass or really loud should be no issue. I know a lot of people playing music and I have myself. Thanks for watching
Do the ground mounted projectors (with the guard covering it) affect mevo? In theory it's not in open view because the guard covers it, but have seen that people think it's a problem.
When you say off to the side how far off to the side. I have golf bags filled with clubs (12 bags some pro staff, some carry) as well as flags and course maps on the wall are these going to interfere with the radar? I would estimate they are 4-5 feet from the hitting area
5ft off to the side of the hitting area/ball should be no issue. Do try to keep the sides clear in front of the ball as the radar view gets wider and you want to do the best to eliminate any issues but generally this is going to be more of heavy metal, loud noises etc.
Great videos. They have helped me a lot with my set up. I know you get tons of questions but if you have a chance I have been having huge issues with short chipping and putting. Outside of 10 yards the unit is near perfect. I’ve used, e6, FS, and tried awesome golf. It’s really impressive in all those apps except for chipping and putting on e6. My set up is 8 feet ball to unit and 12 feet to the screen. I have a mat to hit off of and a birdie ball putting mat next to the hitting mat. The rest of the surface is built up with gym rubber tiles. The putting mat and the tiles are the exact same height. The hitting mat might be 1/8 an inch higher but it’s really close. The mevo is on the gym times so same height as everything else. No gaps. Putts read 1/10 times if I’m lucky and short chips are almost as bad. My cage has a metal frame (EMT) conduit. Could this be causing interference? There’s no computers, electronics, appliances, fluorescent lights or anything else in front of the lm. Been reading everything I can and watching as many videos as Possible but can’t find a solution. Anything you’ve heard to try to figure this out? Unit is set at 12 degrees.
I am still figuring out my setup which should be very similar to yours. Did you ever work it out? Also, does the birdieball putting mat get damaged from balls landing on it? I was wondering how the foam of that mat is holding up. Thanks and good luck!
A quick question regarding the AC charging block that you're supposed to use to charge the MEVO+ with: does it auto-switch between 110V and 220/240V in order to use in the UK-Asia?
I have a question about interference. The room we are looking to put our projector and mevo+ in is huge (20x20). However, it also is our laundry room. The washer and dryer would be on one wall off to the side and our large gunsafe would be on the other wall, so to the right and left of the system. We are trying to decide between the Mevo+ or the Skytrak. Would this cause interference with the mevo+ if it is a good 6-7’ to the side of the system?
It is impossible for anyone to guarantee if that will interfere or not as all objects, rooms etc. are unique. That sounds close though and could be in view of the mevo+. I would say try it, worse case you move them? Just a thought. The gun safe is the one that sounds like heavy metal to me and of course you would not want to run a washer or dryer during play even if further off to the side. I hope that helps.
Good info, can you charge the unit and use it while charging to a battery pack outdoors? Some people say that you should never plug it to a wall outlet and only charge it using a 10,000 battery pack.
Yes, I have used it not only plugged in and play simulator golf but also outdoor using a external battery pack and it worked great for me. I am wondering if some people have extension cords that maybe poorly shielded or other type of interference. Thanks for watching!
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thanks for the info, I think the very very first units had some issues when connected to the mains, I'll use it mainly plugged-in to a battery pack outdoors.
Regarding putting, how much of the putt does the mevo plus read? I am want to know how long the putting mat needs to be (or how short it can be) as this will help determine how I set my putting section up.
I have not had an opportunity to really work with the unit in extreme heat. I think anything in a bad enough environment could have heat concerns. Would be pretty simple to set up a tent or umbrella for something like that though. I hope that helps.
Hi, I was looking into these as I think the price point and data is great, pluss the skills app will help with my gapping and keeping practice focused. The question I would love for you to answer is being based in the uk the range I use is covered bays. I think there is 7ft behind, I would use outdoor setting but wondering if the canopy or roof level would stop the machine reading the ball flight, mainly for high lift shots. 60° etc. Any ideas?
Thanks again for all the great content. I thought you had moved on to more expensive options and left the Mevo Plus behind. Glad to see that isn’t the case. My question regarding interference. I had planned to mount a TV on the wall and mirror onto that from the iPad. Now it sounds like that is not a good idea. Any suggestions?
Not at all I just cover a lot of hardware and software. I have a tv on my wall. It’s about 7ft off the the side and in between the Mevo and ball for a location. No issues there at all.
I have a room that is 20x12. Can I put the unit at the back of the room and still have chairs on either side of the unit for seating for spectators or other players. How far away should non-metal chairs be from the unit to still allow the radar to work properly?
I’m thinking about going with mevo plus, but I have a metal building (shop) that I will using it in will this affect the mevo plus performance ? Thanks
I know a lot of people with setups in light metal buildings. No heavy steel beams in view of near mevo+ and it’s working well. Key is just not heavy steel or metal right behind the screen etc. Feel free to email for discounts. a98cr125@gmail.com
Hi again, Would you mind explaining how I can set up the mevo plus to my laptop and also do I have to download all the apps onto my laptop or how does that work. I will using the mevo plus whilst hitting into a net, I have sufficient distances from device to hitting area and hitting area to net. I’m just a little uncertain of how I can view all shot analysis on my laptop, I’d be grateful if you’d explain cheers
When setting the sight line should i move the mevo plus left and right to center it or should i angle it or use the app to move the center line? And then does that carry over to E6..... ?
Does the material surface have to be anything specific to fill the gap between the Mevo + unit and the hitting/putting surface? My hitting surface is 1 3/4" high. I thought I'd lay down some plywood and cover it with carpet to level things out.
Alan McMaster I think any level surface is fine. I know some people they used rubber gym tiles to fill behind their hitting mat to the wall and said it’s working great, so you should be good.
The problem is not knowing where interference is coming from. I have a workshop garage. Everything is out of view but I have issues from time to time and Tech support was no help. Said it could be intereference. That doesn’t help at all. It would be great to have a system check showing if the radar is getting interference and where from
It's possible just depends on where. But you can also avoid interference using steel mesh around it to block it. www.amazon.com/4PACK-Stainless-Resisting-Screen-Valchoose/dp/B07Y65H3KT
Just setup mevo + with FSG everything seems to be working great except for short chips just off the green I’d say around 8 yards to 15 yards will not pick up the ball unless you get it above 3 feet on the screen any suggestions
just use any cable to charge. get the low amp ones. they charge slow therefore wont harm the battery. the reason why they dont recommend to use other chargers is because if u use high amp chargers like super chargers for phones, it may harm the device.
Thanks for the great videos! I’ve got a Mevo+ and would like to run it on a PC but I’ve got a brand new MacBook Pro with a M1 chip and am thinking of putting parallels on there with windows 10 to run simulator software. Do you know if that would work for me?
Great video! Still waiting for mine to come in. Couple of questions... 1. Do you think it’d be ok to have my tv flush on the wall right inline of where I’m hitting into my net without interference? (Hope that made sense) 2. Any recommendations on a cheaper gaming pc that will do the trick and give me the better graphics without spending a fortune. The Mevo will be the only thing I’ll be running the computer with. Thanks a bunch!
They say no TV in the sight of the Mevo+. How many feet off to the side of the Mevo+? Best deal on gamming PC's is to look on eBay. its all about the GPU. Just search for decent PC's that have 16GB ram and GTX1060. Thanks for watching
Golf Simulator Videos I’d say 5-6 ft off to the side from the Mevo+. I might end up trying it and if it dosnt work I’ll have an idea of what might be the issue!
Zac Cann Worth experimenting. Depends how far in front of the view and what object is made of like metal etc. TVs they have said to keep out of the hitting view.
Hello, i need help planning my setup. Its outdoors/backyard hitting off a patio. Is the mevo plus my best option? I was planning to use a net return pro large w side barriers. Is that enough protection given that i need to be at least 8 feet from net?
I am trying to use my Mevo+ in the garden with a net got the 8ft either side and linking with my ipad. My issue is that it drops the connection after a few mins. Then having to rescan the unit QR code etc. I have updated the firmware etc. I really want to like the unit but i cant use it, managed to get 3 shots so far!! any ideas on connection dropping. WIFI and Bluetooth all set to on.

Sometimes I lose my WiFi connection with the mevo plus when I am using the e6 simulation software. Any ideas on why this might happen. Typically I can turn the mevo plus off then back on and I don’t lose the device connection with e6 for that session. Also I am using an iPad and the WiFi doesn’t drop the The connection just the e6 app does
Interesting. You do not have 2 devices you have connected to before like iPhone and PC, or iPad and iPhone etc. fighting for the connection do you? That can be an issue.
Hi Jay, thanks for all your videos on the Mevo Plus. I just purchased a unit and will be setting it up according to your instructions. One questions I have for you: I am 6’5” and only have 8’ ceilings in my house so will be using my unit in my back yard but with nets. I plan on setting it up 8 feet behind and 12 feet in front. Do I I use the indoor angle since I am hitting into a net even though I am outdoors?
Hi Jay! Have a X3 and a Mevo+. Both barley read chips and putts pretty much never. I have tried in the sim space without interference and outside. Same thing. Any guidance would be appreciated thanks!
Can you buy e6 for pc for the mevo plus or just the iPad version and also do u need to buy the 3000 plus dollar or can I just get the 400 plus a year subscription for the mevo plus
I don’t think that’s a good idea. He will most likely get some heavy bounce back and balls will likely rip through. You would be better off hitting into really thick bed blankets and letting them deteriorate.
It depends on the metal if it will cause interference. Generally it is heavy metal like steel etc. Many are using the units in their garage with not problems from the garage door. Clearly nobody can make a guarantee as everyone's environment is unique experimenting what works best for you is the way to go if possible.
I have not tested indoor mode only short indoor and outdoor. It’s very possible that normal indoor mode with longer flight would give a more precise result since it has more time to read the ball. Thanks for watching
If you use a macbook pro would the free E6 that comes with mevo + still work sense its IOS? Also for internet connection to a laptop, can a usb wifi adapter be used and then connect to the mevo+ wifi or would it have to be a had wire Ethernet?
Awesome video! Just got my Mevo + today and I am having trouble with driver readings. Any thoughts? I have it set to short indoor and have tried indoor. Its sits about 12’ back from screen then 8’ back from there is the mevo. Thanks!
I guess I would need to know the driver issue, distance? 12' of flight is really solid you should be getting good readings. Might be interference in your environment. You are using a dot on the ball right?
Correct it seems to barely carry over 200 which is about 60 plus yards short. I have hit on simulators before so i know my distances. I do have the dots on the balls. I do have a project mounted on the ceiling it is a smaller one. Not sure if that is the issues. All my other clubs get solid readings but 3 wood is up and down too.

As a PGA professional, I really appreciated this video. You went through a lot of the questions that I have about my unit. (I just a Mevo+ to use in the winter for myself and my students.) This was extremely helpful and thank you so much for taking the time to put all this information in one place.
Hi Jason, That is great to hear! I appreciate you watching!
excellent reminder about not elevating the unit off the floor if wanting to simulate putting.
Great videos ...keep them coming ! Would love to see a Mevo+ Vs GC Quad comparison !
Can you link the adapter you're referring to?
@@GregVanGorp Sure here is the one I picked up local I think you can find it online cheaper just about any usb-c adapter should work fine. www.bestbuy.com/site/j5create-2-port-usb-3-0-hub-with-hdmi-and-gigabit-ethernet-usb-type-c-adapter-silver/5602501.p?skuId=5602501
I have an iPad Pro but only have a lightning port... does this still work
David VanVliet Yes they make a lightning to Ethernet dongle. I had one for my iPad Air.
Mick
That is awesome to hear! Thank you for watching!
Thanx for this video, i’n looking into buying a mevo+ and this really helps with the decision 👍🏻
That’s great to hear thanks for watching.
Was wanting one to use over the winter. Clicked your link. 12-14 weeks for delivery. Won't get it until Jan possibly Feb. Reads fast free delivery 😄

I've used mine quite a bit lately, including at the range. The alignment idea is a really good one! Thanks for the vid
Awesome. Your're welcome and thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot for your channel and your awesome job you are doing! I was searching almost a year for a channel like yours! Going into details! And not only unboxing and bla bla, like other channels!
Thanks for watching 🍻
First of all, great videos. Have been watching for a few years and always great content.
Having recently purchased a Mevo+ as I begin to build my sim, I'm torn between a sim enclosure build from one of the UK suppliers, or trying to get a system in place like you with the curtains. Do you have a detailed breakdown of how you created that anywhere? Also, if you have any specifics on the flooring and hitting surface, that would be great.
Thanks in advance!
This is great. You should do one in skytrak
Thank you! Glad you liked it. I will see if I can knock out a SkyTrak too! Thanks for watching.
I’ll try testing others. I have only tried with my latest gen iPhone 12 pro. Thanks for watching
I have some questions:
1) Given an ideal putting environment/set up, how reliable are the putt reads?
Exactly, that is explained thoroughly here. Flat, level, and smooth :) Thanks for watching
Can i use Almost Golf Balls for Mevo1. I will setup a small indoor, and safety is a factor.
No, I have a video on this. Even though chipping is "ok" the data is not right. It is reading the ball so impossible to get correct launch, spin, speed etc.
Thanks for this video!
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
I know the guy in Texas Jay is talking about. Thanks for the help. If I knew then what I know now.... Great video!
Thanks, Bob! So tough to cover it all in one video but the comments have a lot of great questions and answers too! Thank you for watching!
I know a lot of people that do this. It needs to be far enough on the side just to prevent interference.
This is an awesome video! Thankyou. It would of been good if you went through the horizontal line up procedure and using the 'target alignment' feature in the FS Golf app. I feel this is important to getting accurate data especially club data.
Good video, don't doubt yourself!!! Thank you for the help.
Thanks for watching
Perfect timing!! Gonna set mine up today!
Nice! Yeah I tried to cover as much as I could. Clearly I could have missed something but that is what comments are for! Tried not making it an hour of me talking!! LOL Thanks for watching!
GReat videos Jay! About to buy the Mevo+ but after watching your videos I have a couple of concerns:
What are the pros and cons between this, the sky track and the new ES tour and which would you recommend for a home set up and why?
@@GolfSimulatorVideos perfect, i think it will be between the mevo+ and sky track. Thank you for your input
Shotgun_Andy Anytime. Thanks for watching
Great vid. Can't wait to use it!
Thanks for watching
This was a great video, Jay. Very informative. It would be a great series to do something similar for the other popular units like SkyTrak, Garmin R10, etc.
I try my best to do them. Just need more time haha. Thanks for watching
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Take your time ;-)
can you detail how you set up your hitting area vs the remaining turf or carpet to obtain a totally level area. would obviously like to save by creating a smaller hitting area with the more expensive turf. thanks for any help.
How do I connect my laptop(pc) to the device?
Do I have to use the flightscope program?
Could you run the MEVO+ with an iPad and then project it onto a larger TV? I have a 8’ Net Return setup that I hit into today and this video was super helpful Jay. Thanks in advance for your help
You sure can. Just like I have done on my projector. Just use AirPlay or an HMDI dongle.
close to purchasing Mevo+, somewhat intimidated by computer issues.
Awesome job can you tell me how do I access the camera ?
Use FS Golf. It can be used for alignment and swing recording. Check out this video it shows it all. ua-cam.com/video/VtkU_DOUmO8/v-deo.html
I noticed you are putting in the same area as your drives and irons, is that still the case? thanks for the time.
Do you have a strong opinion of iPad air vs iPad Pro and the storage size?
iPad Pro is nice for E6. Smoother graphics. But other min requirement iPads do work.
Are you able to evaluate my seyp with mevo+. Consistently 8-10 yards lower on pw-7iron. 6- driver lower by 10-20 yards.
What are the best options as far as where I should place a projector two project onto my hitting screen?
Thank you! A lot of great info!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
So would having my boat in the next garage bay interfere with this unit?
No that should be fine. It’s really something in direct view of the unit like steel beams behind the screen or right next to it. I have found loud noises and humming seem to be the biggest culprits. Lots of people are using them in aluminum barns, and things like that with no issue.
Great video i have a question if i have a fridge but i have a curtain on front is it ok ? Thanks
Matt Villani iPad is small and should not matter much. Off to the side is fine out of the line of sight. Thanks for watching
I have heard both ways. Some said just fine and some said was an issue. Could always be covered in metal mesh to block it from the radar I suppose.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos thank you!
I actually have not tested any 220v. If proper adapters are used you should be fine.
Can you tell me how many people can play a round of golf at the same time? I can't seem to find that information anywhere.
Depends on the software. The included software iOS e6 allows up to 6. Thanks for watching
Thank you so much! I appreciate the quick response!
Great video! Any advise on how I would connect my iPad to a projector please?
Great videos and super helpful. Any idea difference in ball settings, range vs standard? Noticed distances change quite a bit. Further with range
You know I have never tested that setting in FS Golf but I'm sure decent difference just like outside. Thanks for watching
Regarding putting, how much of the putt does the mevo plus read? I am want to know how long the putting mat needs to be (or how short it can be) as this will help determine how I set my putting section up.
Steve Steve Up to 8ft but this has not been disclosed officially and seems like more close to 4ft or so.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos so putting mat length anywhere in between no problem. Awesome.
Steve Steve yes and as always I tell everyone to experiment with their own environment.
What's the recommended voltage input. Lots of countries don't have 110 volts.
Here in AZ - any issues with using Mevo+ outside and hitting into net (sunshine/reflection with stickers?) Thanks
I have not had an opportunity to really work with the unit in extreme heat. I think anything in a bad enough environment could have heat concerns. Would be pretty simple to set up a tent or umbrella for something like that though. I hope that helps.
Jay, a while ago you did a video of QED, vs Mevo+, Vs Skytrak. Can you do same thing with bud with Tour Plus instead of Skytrak... Thanks
Sure I will see what I can do. Thanks for watching, David!
60° etc. Any ideas?
It really just depends on how far it overhangs. Might be best to experience the with that environment. Thanks for watching
Question. How do you get mevo plus pro package to give accurate low point data
Hi again,
Would you mind explaining how I can set up the mevo plus to my laptop and also do I have to download all the apps onto my laptop or how does that work.
It would be great to have a system check showing if the radar is getting interference and where from
Will I have an issue with my projector sitting on the floor in front of my hitting mat?
Potentially. I know some doing this and it's working fine but I think most are using wire mesh to block potential interference.
is there a way to get an ac adapter. I bought a used one and it didn't come with one. There isn't one available to buy on the Mevo website.
Great video! Will a ceiling mounted projector a few feet in front of the mevo plus interfere with the readings?
It's possible just depends on where. But you can also avoid interference using steel mesh around it to block it. www.amazon.com/4PACK-Stainless-Resisting-Screen-Valchoose/dp/B07Y65H3KT
@@GolfSimulatorVideos that was a quick reply! Thank you! I’ll try the mesh if there is interference.
(Hope that made sense)
Shoot me an email so we can discuss. You do need to be 8ft ball to net minimum. I can show you options. a98cr125@gmail.com
Is it possible to fill up a 16:9 impact screen projecting from an Ipad pro connected to mevo+? Thank you.
No, it would stretch the image. iPads are closer to 4:3 and 16:10.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos thank you
@@GolfSimulatorVideos so it is possible to fill up an 16:10 aspect ratio screen with an iPad?
@@ericgozo I have the iPad Pro 11”. It’s very close to 16:10. See it here…. ua-cam.com/video/1rSdtBlAyEk/v-deo.html
My screw is 16:10 and you can see I just have very small black bars at the top and bottom it is very close.
Just because outside, nothing changes for settings or even using a dot it's all about distance the ball is flying.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Just so I fully understand your answer Jay; since the net will only be 12 feet away, I should use the inside setting with a dot?
@@birdvid147 yes. Short indoor with dot.
You sure can. Starts at only $300yr for the basic PC subscription.
Best overall information on the Mevo+! Emailed you!
Great to hear, Jake. Thanks for watching and reaching out. I will answer promptly.
Hey! I'll buy the Mevo + very soon. If you can refer me I'd love that!
Would be happy to. Just email me: a98cr125@gmail.com
Can I use heavy duty tarp that is white as a budget impact screen?
I don’t think that’s a good idea. He will most likely get some heavy bounce back and balls will likely rip through. You would be better off hitting into really thick bed blankets and letting them deteriorate.
Thanks for good review
I was wondering is mevo+ can use in metal shed?
It depends on the metal if it will cause interference. Generally it is heavy metal like steel etc. Many are using the units in their garage with not problems from the garage door. Clearly nobody can make a guarantee as everyone's environment is unique experimenting what works best for you is the way to go if possible.
Great video! Thanks! Does the indoor setup gives better results than indoor short? Since it has more space for measurement?
I have not tested indoor mode only short indoor and outdoor. It’s very possible that normal indoor mode with longer flight would give a more precise result since it has more time to read the ball. Thanks for watching
GREAT information. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
If you use a macbook pro would the free E6 that comes with mevo + still work sense its IOS? Also for internet connection to a laptop, can a usb wifi adapter be used and then connect to the mevo+ wifi or would it have to be a had wire Ethernet?
It is not OS-based it is iOS based. I’m sure you could find an emulator but it’s for mobile devices like iPad and iPhone etc. or android

@@calebbradbury2883 I would contact Flightscope. It is possible you are getting interference or something odd is going on. Thanks for watching.
