- Today you'll learn how to add gussets to a curve panel with total ease. As a bag maker, you'll find yourself working with many curves and gussets. Many times we struggle with easing the gusset around the curves of a panel.
Gussets add depth to our bags and give structure, so they're a necessary part of the bag making design and journey.
In today's video, you'll learn the techniques I use to ease the gussets around the curves of a panel so that it looks smooth every time.

Get perfect curves when adding gussets to your bags. :) Let me know if this video helped you in any way, I love to hear from you! 😊
Thanks...it was truly a life saving video 😁...
So happy to help!! 😊
Thank you
You're welcome 😊
One thing I teach my interns, is to draw a line on the gussets where the seam allowance will be. This way they can snip close to that line!
Thanks for all your tips and tutorials!
That's a great tip! 😃
Thanks for this tipp, I was struggling with getting beautiful curved edges. Will try it out!
You’re welcome 😊

😀 Thank you!
Very helpful, thanks.
Glad it was helpful! 😃
Thank you for the tip sis. Can teach us how to sew using for this same bag
Hi yes I'm actually working on the video for this bag right now. Will be uploading it soon :)
@@AllieSewCrafty thank you sis. Another request. Can we use piping to join the flap and bag bodices?. I bought a small drawstring bag from China. Cant figure the piping join they used for this bag
@@kanamuthurajah9852 Piping can be used yes, but piping is more decorative, you stitch it between the flap and panel. When I want to figure out how something was made, I take it apart step by step, writing it down so I know how to trace it back. :)
Thank you for this video it had great tips. Could you also create a video on how to measure a gusset for a bag? I am having no luck finding this and I would love to know ❤
Hi, yes I can try, but it'll be a while before I can make a video about that. What exactly are you trying to do? I follow another sewing channel on Tiktok and she suggests using a tool like this one to measure gussets. I haven't used this tool, but a lot of people rave about it. Check it out here amzn.to/3PHQmSI
@@AllieSewCrafty hi thank you,
Yes this would work. I am trying to know how much fabric to cut for the gusset in order of it to fit around the main panel perfectly.
