    9:41 “There’s one big difference: Jake would have killed again. I won’t.”
    I honestly don’t blame him for killing Jake for his son’s death. That boy would definitely have killed again just because he could. The father couldn’t get justice for his son so he got revenge. And the boy most certainly got what he deserved when he thought he could get away with it.

      Well, after looking into Jake's background, Novak and Wong saw so many red flags you could sew a quilt. Killing a gopher, acting tough, almost drowning another kid, being kicked out of 3 different schools. Jake was clearly a danger to others, and yet, the so called "mother" just swept it all under the rug.

      I totally agree with you. You know, the idea of preemptively killing villains, such as Sideshow Bob, from television, before they can harm others is a thought that crossed my mind. The same goes for real-life bad guys, not just psychopaths like Jake. Also, I had wondered if some real-life psychologist would write an article about how sociopathic children cannot be treated and must be removed from society by any means necessary.

      There is an unfortunate misconception in the general population that everyone can be rehabilitated. People that work in law enforcement, the courts as criminologists know that this is not true. The problem is convincing the masses that these people exist. We have accepted that we do not have the capacity to make color blind people see red and that nonverbal autistic children will not speak because certain parts of the brain are dormant. It's impossible for most people to accept that some people are just born with evil brains, and that trying to get them to conceptualize empathy is like trying to get a colorblind person to see what we see when they look at a sunset. Until we acknowledge that such people exist and set them aside for research, even as children, society is bound to be more chaotic. My mother is a sociopath and I have to live with a reality that many people won't accept.

    The mother is at fault for not listening to the camp director about Jake's psychopathic behaviour and not getting him institutionalized. That's like letting letting your child continue to get ill until the infections gets bigger and they could die from it! 😔😔

    Sometimes i feel like what Henry’s dad did to Jake was justifiable because Jake was a complete sociopath who killed his son and didn’t have any remorse for it and he put in a great sympathy act to fool everyone, but at the same time, he kills a child and using the same tactics that Jake did to put on an acting job to gain sympathy from the court to get off with murder even admitting that it was premeditated the minute he found out what really happened.
    I get that Jake should’ve been dealt with but do we really think we need to end it like this giving someone the right to take a life right there and then? Idk it’s just me because i see both the legal and moral of this situation and i pray i never have to go through this in real life when i have children.

    • @SetsunaTheAngel
      @SetsunaTheAngel 5 днів тому +3

      What Henry's dad did is 100% correct... so long as he pleads guilty at first chance and accepts his sentence with no complaint. You can't act against someone who weaseled out of punishment by doing so yourself.
      To be fair,there's no guarantee you get punished. Gary Plauché for example.

    • @Mia_M
      @Mia_M 5 днів тому +6

      Tbf, like Casey said, Henry’s dad solved the problem of Jake being out on the streets. The jury was more afraid of what that child would’ve turned into and done, and sympathised with the grieving father out to avenge his son. I’m not saying we should kill sociopaths, but like they said, there is the question of what to do with the ones who turn out like Jake.

      It's a conundrum but not as confusing. The problem with it is Jake's history being looked into and he already knew how to play the sympathy angle. Another factor is the killing itself and why it's so dangerous: you do it once and it gets real easy to do it again and again. And when a kid does it to another kid, and gets away with it which is what he did before being shot, he would do it again but know how better to not get caught.

      Reasons like this is why I love this episode of SVU, because there's no real victory if you think about it. Yes, Jake was a monster and should've been handled. But at the same time, the fact that it took a broken man to kill him once learning he intentionally murdered his child? And the fact that said man used the same manipulation to get out of prison? Like it really makes you think the overall perspective of this.

    This was based on the Jamie Bulger case if I'm not mistaken. From what I remember of the interviews, Mrs. Bulger wanted to kill the two boys who killed her son too. They're still alive, and walking around. One of them is a father now and he's allowed limited and supervised contact with his own kid from what I've heard and they've both been listed as offenders. There was no justice for little Jamie Bulger...

    • @aeris2001
      @aeris2001 5 днів тому +1

      There was complete justice as the perps had their lives destroyed. One changed their life around and does not get in trouble and has become a model citizen and is giving back to society, the other's living a train wreck of a life and is in and out of prison and has never escaped what he did that day.
