Over the last year I got into video as a hobby. This week I’ll be joining a small team to shoot a commercial. First time doing some legit paid work. This video makes me feel 1% more prepared. Thank you 🙏
This series has been incredible. As professionals we take for granted the fundamentals, but there really isn't anything better. Keep it up Ryan and team!
Just woke up and this is the first video I've watched this day. Not complaining since I was a filmmaking enthusiast and been a fan of Film Riot and Sir Ryan Connolly for a mighty long time
I love how you explain everything to us to the point where we don't need to ask a question! As a very Beginner like myself, I will say thank you for this amazing informative video
Thanks Ryan for everything you've made we've been watching you and (Others your team) for a while and we know you had so much improvement and love you from India, Mizoram.
learning a lot from this video..very much satisfying to know how the work is done and what we see in the movies. hope that it will improve my filmmaking so much. thanks for sharing.
I really appreciate your content. Even though I aspire to become an actor, knowing all the other production elements is quite significant. Thanks for uploading such good videos.
Your content and tutorials are so helpful, I have been binging your bts and tutorials the past few days! Love your short films as well and overall creativity of filmmaking!!
This video really covers a lot of the basics in short time. Of course you can go much deeper into the subtleties of every shot size in different scenarios, but that would have taken a whole episode for every one of them.
Man I have been watching yall's videos since y'all first started and y'all just keep better and better! Love the help y'all give and just the over all production quality and entertainment y'all provide is just amazing! Love it guys! Keep on keeping on!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm making a short film for school and this is beyond helpful, thank you for the amount of effort that you have put into this and many other videos on your channel.
Almost everything you need to know about directing is in a single video lmao. He has two more videos like this about coverage and cinematography. Know those three videos and there you have it, 4 years filmmaking degree for free. I really like this type of content where you don't interrupt the flow with unnecessary jokes.
Take a shot for every time ryan says sentence in the intro. You’ll be blacked out by the title sequence lol But fr this video came at the best time for me cause I’m working on a short animated film right now
Hey Ryan, can you show a simple tutorial on how to remove a camera/cameraman when shooting a mirror, like in bathroom, elevator, big mirror wall etc. Thanks.
I like how you explained it like formulating a sentence!
Yes, that was pure poetry. I actually had to write it down.

Even though these are basics, it's still so useful to watch. Love the linguistic analogy, so helpful! Great graphics btw
I like the 2.66:1 2x anamorphic on a 4:3 sensor personally. A great lesson too, Thanks guys!
Thanks Ryan for everything you've made we've been watching you and (Others your team) for a while and we know you had so much improvement and love you from India, Mizoram.

In french, we actually call the cowboy shot the « plan américain » (American shot) still because of the westerns framing the guns.

He really just wants to talk about Blade Runner doesn't he?
Always.
For someone that's just getting their first camera and starting out learning on their own what is the best shot and angle to start trying on day 1?
